We are seeing governments surveilling more and more as they feel their right to know exceeds peoples rights to privacy. Notice what has been happening in the United Kingdom:
A UK pedestrian was arrested and fined £90 ($115 US) after attempting to cover his face while passing a controversial facial recognition camera van on a East London street. The notorious London police vans scan the faces of passers-by and compare them to a database of wanted criminals.
One man wasn’t having any of it, and was seen covering his face with his hat and jacket before London police stopped him and took his picture anyway according to the Daily Mail.“If I want to cover me face, I’ll cover me face. Don’t push me over when I’m walking down the street,” said the man after his stop.
“How would you like it if you walked down the street and someone grabbed your shoulder? You wouldn’t like it, would you?” the man asked an officer, who replied “Calm yourself down or you’re going in handcuffs. It’s up to you. Wind your neck in.”
“You wind your neck in,” the man replied.
After being fined, the man told a reporter: ‘The chap told me down the road – he said they’ve got facial recognition. So I walked past like that (covering my face). …

According to Congressman Justin Amash, Congress just passed a bill which grants the government and law enforcement “unlimited access to the communications of every American”.
When the Michigan lawmaker discovered that the Intelligence Authorization Act for FY 2015 had been amended with a provision that authorizes “the acquisition, retention, and dissemination” of all communications data from U.S. citizens, he desperately attempted to organize a roll call vote on the bill.
However, the legislation was passed yesterday 325-100 via a voice vote, a green light for what Amash describes as “one of the most egregious sections of law I’ve encountered during my time as a representative”.
The bill allows the private communications of Americans to be scooped up without a court order and then transferred to law enforcement for criminal investigations.

The governments of the United Kingdom and the United States simply do not believe that anyone has privacy rights, especially on the Internet. The expectation of getting warrants for protection (supposedly part of the Sixth amendment to the US Constitution) is pretty much gone (although it has been for some time, since the improperly named Patriot Act).

US government spying is not limited to the internet of course. Notice the following:

So, despite ‘safeguards’ (which already are biased against privacy), we keep seeing reports that governments, like the USA, have violated their own rules. Hence, there is more and more spying and less and less privacy.
Governments have repeatedly shown that they should not have unlimited access to all the information some within it want. The USA and UK have been continuing in this direction.
Years ago, George Orwell wrote a book called nineteen-eighty four. It warned about a totalitarian government that had electronic surveillance everywhere. In that book, it mentions that ‘Big Brother,’ meaning the government, was always watching you.

In Orwell’s book, the government had some type of surveillance cameras all over. And people had to respond to them when the government told them to do something or asked them something.
Now, more and more governments get involved with computer and other monitoring. Sadly, this is becoming more and more accepted throughout the world. This is not limited to China’s social credit score, etc.
Anyway, when the Beast power does more of it (cf. Revelation 13:15-17), it will likely point to the precedents of the U.S.A., U.K., and other nations as proof that this is something that reasonably needs to be done.
Notice the following from the Bible:
1 Hear my voice, O God, in my meditation;
Preserve my life from fear of the enemy.
2 Hide me from the secret plots of the wicked,
From the rebellion of the workers of iniquity,
3 Who sharpen their tongue like a sword,
And bend their bows to shoot their arrows — bitter words,
4 That they may shoot in secret at the blameless;
Suddenly they shoot at him and do not fear.5 They encourage themselves in an evil matter;
They talk of laying snares secretly;
They say, “Who will see them?”
6 They devise iniquities:
“We have perfected a shrewd scheme.”
Both the inward thought and the heart of man are deep. (Psalms 64:1-6)
And while you might think that if you have done nothing wrong, you have nothing to fear from surveillance, consider that many in the governments of the USA, UK, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand consider that not supporting homosexual marriages, etc. are extremist and promoting biblical verses about them is wrong. I also saw someone once on a documentary that stated that people who believed in the millennium could not be trusted and should be considered as potential terrorists. The fact that we in the Continuing Church of God would be considered pacifists, does not change the fact that, since we hold to millennial and other biblical views, we can be improperly classified as extremist by government employees with various agendas.
Having biblical views are becoming more problematic in the world.
Notice also the following prophecy:
13 Therefore the prudent keep silent at that time, For it is an evil time. (Amos 5:13)
The above indicates that even those that are doing nothing wrong will need to be silent at the coming evil time.
Somewhat beyond that, Bible prophecy further warns about a power that will have a tremendous amount of control and even understand secret/hidden things:
15 He was granted power to give breath to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak and cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed. 16 He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, 17 and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
18 Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man: His number is 666. (Revelation 13:15-18, NKJV)
23 ‘And in the latter end of their kingdom, about the perfecting of the transgressors, stand up doth a king, fierce of face, and understanding hidden things; (Daniel 8:23, Young’s Literal Translation)
It will likely take computers aided with artificial intelligence to aid in the fulfillment of the above scriptures, as well as cyber-spying/monitoring–perhaps even involving plants? Thus, we are seeing technologies being developed for monitoring will be used by the European Beast, King of the North, 666 power.
At some point in time, a famine of the word of God will happen (Amos 8:11-12), and governmental espionage and interference, along with assistance from private companies, will be used to do that.

Will USA Spying Help the Beast Power? Various allegations have surfaced about the United States government spying on its own citizens as well as its supposed allies in the European Union. Whether or not all the espionage allegations are true, and the main ones have not been publicly denied by the government of the USA, the reality is that this does have prophetic ramifications and will help the Beast of Revelation.
