The Feast of Trumpets runs from sunset September 18 through sunset September 19 in 2020. Which is the first day of the seventh month of the Hebrew calendar known as Tishri or Ethanim (1 Kings 8:2).

Two Jewish groups want shofar blowing on the Temple Mount then:

August 29, 2020

Two organizations in Israel have petitioned Prime Minister Benjamin Netanhayu to allow them to blast a shofar on the Temple Mount. …

The petition requests permission for a shofar blast on Rosh Hashanna, next month, on the Temple Mount. https://www.wnd.com/2020/08/jews-seek-permission-blast-shofar-temple-mount/

SANHEDRIN PETITIONS TO GOVT TO BLOW SHOFAR ON TEMPLE MOUNT FOR FIRST TIME SINCE TEMPLE DESTRUCTION

A petition is currently being considered by Prime Minister which, if accepted, will permit a Jew to blow the shofar on Rosh Hashanna on the Temple Mount. Since the first day of Rosh Hashanna is on the Sabbath, it will be the only place in the entire Jewish world that a shofar will be blown and it will mark the first time since the destruction of the Temple that a Jew will be permitted to perform this powerful act at the holiest site in the world.

The Organization of 70 Nations, headed by Rabbi Hillel Weiss, and the Land of Israel Organization (Mateh L’Maan Eretz Yisrael) headed by Aviad Vosoli, petitioned Prime Minister Netanyahu to permit the blowing of the shofar on the Temple Mount on the holy day of Rosh Hashanna.

Visoli explained his position to Breaking Israel News.

“Jews are only permitted to enter the Temple Mount five days a week: Sunday to Thursday. This year, the first day of Rosh Hashanna is on Saturday, the Sabbath. According to Jewish law, it is forbidden to blow the shofar on the Sabbath except for on the Temple Mount. So we submitted a request to permit a group of Jews to do so; to blow the shofar on the Temple Mount on the first day of Rosh Hashana.”

If they succeed, this will be the first time a shofar will be blown on the Temple Mount since the destruction of the Temple 1,950 years ago. …

“Blowing of the shofar on the Temple Mount of Rosh Hashanna is not a simple ritual as it is done in synagogues around the world. This is not just for the Jews who are there to hear it. This is a shofar call to all the nations of the world. Now, more than ever before, we are crying out to Hashem to bless us with life, peace, and an end to plagues. Every leader in the world who cares and who sees himself as a representative of one of the 70 nations should call on Netanyahu to permit this to take place.”

“As political processes concerning Israel and the Temple Mount move forward, so much is being said about the Arabs but not a word is said about the rights and requirements of the Jews in their Biblical homeland and our holiest site. And no one is speaking about the true ‘owner’; of the land and His kingship. One of the names of the Temple was Bet HaTkiya, the house of the sounding of the shofar. Politics is nothing when compared to that.”

The binding of Isaac

“Outside of the Temple, we blow a shofar made from a ram’s horn. It is curved and reminiscent of the binding of Isaac. When the shofar was blown in the Temple on Shabbat Rosh Hashana, it was a goat’s horn. It was a call to freedom, as hinted in Psalms.”

“Blowing the shofar that is specific to the Temple is a cry out to God to prevent the division of His land and the loss of His house. This shofar will topple anyone who is set on dividing God’s land and opposing the establishment of a House of Prayer for All Nations in Jerusalem, just as the sound of the shofar toppled the walls that stood between the Jews and entering the Promised Land.” https://www.breakingisraelnews.com/157145/sanhedrin-petitions-to-govt-to-blow-shofar-on-temple-mount-for-first-time-since-temple-destruction/

There are other groups, like the Temple Institute (which is associated with the Sanhedrin), that would support the shofar blowing on the Temple Mount. Notice something it sent out last year:

Rosh HaShana 5780 – “A Day of Sounding the Shofar!”

(Numbers 29:1)

Elul 29, 5779/September 29, 2019

“And in the seventh month, on the first day, there shall be a holy convocation for you; you shall not perform any mundane work. It shall be a day of sounding the shofar for you. You shall offer up a burnt offering for a spirit of satisfaction to HaShem: one young bull, one ram, and seven lambs in the first year, all unblemished. And their meal offering shall be fine flour mixed with oil, three tenths for the bull and two tenths for the ram. And one tenth for each lamb, for the seven lambs. And one young male goat as a sin offering, to atone for you. This is besides the burnt offering of the new month and its meal offering, and the continual burnt offering and its meal offering, and their libations as prescribed for them, as a spirit of satisfaction, a fire offering to HaShem” (Numbers 29:1-6)

Our sages teach us that Rosh Hashana marks the sixth day of creation, the day that Adam HaRishon – the first man – was created. The place of our creation, the Garden of Eden, is the very place of the Holy Temple, on the mount known as Mount Moriah. It was on this very spot that Adam first turned from G-d, and first repented – (returned to G-d). Here he built an altar and presented an offering. Some twenty generations later it was here that the angel of HaShem stayed the hand of Avraham at the binding of Yitzchak. It was here that the ram appeared, providing Avraham with the means through which to express his love for G-d.

Yes, trumpets are blown on the Feast of Trumpets–which Jews later changed the name for their observance to Rosh Hashana.

The Jews have various traditions of the meaning of the day.

It should be mentioned that some Jewish sages have pointed to the first day of the seventh month of the calendar, which began at sunset September 29, 2019, as the day the earth was created. Others, like those the Temple Institute referred to, point to it being the day Adam and Eve were created. However, since Hebrew calendar rules do not allow the first day of the seventh month to be on what we now call Friday (since the Sabbath is the next day), their sages pointing to human creation on that day makes no sense. According to the Bible, Adam and Eve were created on the sixth day of the week (cf. Genesis 1:26-30), the day we call Friday. Thus, some of their sages are in conflict with that.

Speaking of conflicts and dates, although the Jews claim the year 5779 ended at sunset last year, that is actually off by a couple of centuries.

And some of their scholars admit to that.

Related to this, the Continuing Church of God (CCOG) put together the following video on our Bible News Prophecy YouTube channel:

Jewish Year 5779 or 5990?

According to the Jewish ‘Seder Olam Rabbah’ the period from sunset 9 September 2018 to 29 September 2019 is the year 5779 Anno Mundi (age of the world). However, the Jewish Encyclopedia, secular scholars, and modern Jewish experts have all claimed that the count is off between 164 to 200 plus years. Are we closer to the year 5990 than 5779 since Adam and Eve left the Garden of Eden? Why would the Seder Olam be off by so much? Does any of this have anything to do with deceit and pointing to the false ‘messiah’ Simon Bar Kochba? Was the Messiah supposed to come after 4000 or 6000 years? Does Daniel 9:26 clearly point to Jesus? Dr. Thiel refers to Jewish accepted and other sources to answer these questions? Now as far as shofar blowing on the Temple Mount goes, this is basically a political decision.

With the current state of Israeli politics, plus the fact that annexation plans for Judea and Samaria have been delayed by the “Abraham Accords” (see ‘The Prophetic Implications of the Israel-UAE Agreement’), it may be that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu may wish to satisfy the more religious in his coalition and press for this to be approved.

We will see.

But what the petition does show is that there are Jews intent on pushing matters on the Temple Mount.

One day, they will, for a time, be able to perform regular animal sacrifices–and that will be an important sign that the end of this age is very near.

Evangelical support for Donald Trump’s Jerusalem policy BBC asked, “Why do US evangelicals support Trump’s Jerusalem policy?” BBC provided quotes from some believing it has to do with the ‘last days’ while others saying that is not the reason. Hal Lindsey’s book, ‘The Late Great Planet Earth’ is one of the sources pointed to. In this video, Dr. Thiel addresses scriptures related to Jerusalem as well as prophetic ones. He explains biblical statements on those subjects as well as the views of certain modern Jewish organizations. This is a video.
Jerusalem, Donald Trump, and Prophecy On December 6, 2017, US President Donald Trump fulfilled a campaign promise related to the recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital. This brought anger, protests, and rockets from some Palestinians. It also brought condemnation from European allies–it has been claimed to be disruptive and even catastrophic. The Palestinian President (Mahmoud Abbas) said that this pronouncement eliminated the USA as being a fair mediator for a peace deal. Others have claimed that Donald Trump is an end time Cyrus and his pronouncement will lead to a Third Temple in Jerusalem. Is there ever going to be a peace deal? If so, will Europeans be part of it? Is Donald Trump a ‘Cyrus.’ Do the Jews require a Third Temple for sacrifices? Dr. Thiel answer those questions and more in this video.
