Ted Cruz and Jeb Bush showed on Sunday why they’ve raised more money in million-dollar increments than the other 20 major presidential candidates: rich people love them. …Cruz drew his first big cheer when he called global warming a fiction invented by liberals, and got more when he attacked Planned Parenthood, took credit for killing the Export-Import Bank, promised a campaign in the mold of Ronald Reagan’s, and said he relished the thought of facing Hillary Clinton on a debate stage.

WASHINGTON – Does U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, fear Christians in America will be prosecuted for practicing their beliefs?

The GOP presidential candidate responded so strongly, it was though merely saying “yes” would be a superfluous understatement.

“There is no doubt that one of the greatest threats we are seeing is the assault on religious liberty,” Cruz told WND.

By whom?

“The Obama administration has demonstrated a massive hostility to religious liberty.”

What would be an example?

“At the recent gay-marriage oral arguments, Justice Alito asked the Obama solicitor general whether, if they prevailed, the Obama IRS would then go after Christian colleges, universities and schools that follow a biblical teaching on marriage,” said Cruz.

“And the Obama Justice Department responded, yes, that was a very real possibility.”

Cruz indicated the problem wasn’t just the threat to religious liberties posed by the Obama administration, it was also its enabler in an all-too-compliant GOP, eager to avoid a fight.

“One of the saddest things,” intoned Cruz, “in the wake of that activist, illegitimate decision purporting to strike down the marriage laws of all 50 states was just how many Republicans, including how many Republican candidates for president, ran for the hills.”

In a fiery speech Democratic presidential hopeful Hillary Rodham Clinton argues that deep seated religious beliefs must be changed so that everyone can enjoy full participation in every aspect of society.

Clinton, speaking in Manhattan on Thursday at the sixth annual Women in The World Summit, declared that “deep-seated cultural codes, religious beliefs and structural biases” must be changed both in the U.S. and around the world in order to achieve social justice.

Clinton, after discussing the pressing social justice issues of domestic violence and women’s reproductive health, said:

Laws have to be backed up with resources and political will. And deep-seated cultural codes, religious beliefs and structural biases have to be changed.

As I have said and as I believe, the advancement of the full participation of women and girls in every aspect of their societies is the great unfinished business of the 21st century and not just for women but for everyone — and not just in far away countries but right here in the United States.

One would have to censor the Bible and/or mistranslate it in order to accomplish some of what Hillary Clinton wants. She wants a reduction of religious liberty as she wants people to share her beliefs and biases. She seems to want laws to back up her views.

Of course, the USA is supposed to have freedom of speech and religion:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. (First Amendment to the US Constitution)

But even some in Kenya and Ethiopia recently commented that the USA does not have free speech anymore , because of matters like the homosexual agenda (for details, see Is the USA now an Evil Empire?).

The USA is no longer the bastion of freedom and liberty that many once believed. The situation in the USA is changing.

Does that mean that politicians like Ted Cruz are the answer to the problems that the USA is facing?

N0, but it is good that he has spoken up against some of the sins of the nation. The USA really needs national repentance, otherwise it is doomed. The USA needs the return of Jesus Christ and the Kingdom of God.
