Is the United States of America mentioned in Bible prophecy? Some Protestants say yes, others say no.
Those who are or were part of the Philadelphia remnant of the Church of God (now best represented by the Continuing Church of God) say yes.
Who is correct?
This article will cite various Protestant and Church of God (COG) sources, along with the Bible, to answer this pressing question. (There is also a video available: Is The United States Mentioned In Bible Prophecy?)
While there are various views amongst those considered to be Protestants, the following view held by Greg Laurie seems to represent the basic view of many Protestants:
When I look at Bible prophecy, one thing that is of great interest to me, and of great concern, is the absence of the United States. (Laurie G. Where is the United States in the End-Times Scenario? July 13th, 2013. viewed http://blog.greglaurie.com/?p=8931 07/17/13)
While I plan to address where the USA is mentioned in biblical prophecy later, Greg Laurie gives his own explanation of why he feels that it is not mentioned:
Where is the United States? Why are we not in the last-days scenario? Why is it that we can read of nations like Iraq and Iran and Libya and that we possibly can find China and Russia mentioned, but we cannot find the United States?
I would like to offer three plausible answers.
One, perhaps the United States may not be mentioned in Scripture because it might be devastated by a nuclear war. It is a horrible scenario and one that none of us would want to see, but we cannot rule it out as a possibility. There is no guarantee this could not happen...
The second possible reason our nation may not be mentioned in Scripture is that perhaps we will simply decline as a world power. As our country becomes more and more secular, systematically eliminating God and the Bible from our education system, courts, and the arts we will begin to reap the inevitable results of sin. We will begin to rot from the inside...
But there is a third possibility, which I find a lot more hopeful: a great revival takes place in the United States. That is not to say a revival would eliminate us as a world power. But if our nation had a revival, it would affect us. Think about this. Let’s say, for example, that one-fourth of all Americans are believers. This would mean that we have approximately 78 million true believers in our country today.
When the Rapture of the church takes place, don’t you think there would be an impact on the United States if 78 million people disappeared? If people in every level of government, the military, the economic sector, business, agriculture, medicine and communications suddenly disappeared from the face of the earth, it undoubtedly would have a crippling effect on our infrastructure as a nation. (Laurie G. Where is the United States in the End-Times Scenario? July 13th, 2013. viewed http://blog.greglaurie.com/?p=8931 07/17/13)
Although the article did not cite scriptures, let me state that nuclear (or similar) destruction will like befall the USA and the USA is in decline as a world power (cf. Leviticus 26:33; Deuteronomy 29:23; Isaiah 10:5-11; Hosea 8:14) (some of the reasons why this will happen are in the article Anglo - America in Prophecy & the Lost Tribes of Israel).
That being said, the Bible does not teach a pre-tribulation rapture. Jesus specifically taught He would return after the great tribulation:
29 "Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 30 Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31 And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. (Matthew 24:29-31)
More information on the Bible and the pre-tribulation rapture hypothesis can be found in the article Is There A Secret Rapture for the Church? When and Where is the Church Protected? and the YouTube video Did Jesus Teach a Pre-tribulation Rapture?.
Ed Mlynar seems to have a similar, though not identical, view to Greg Laurie as he wrote:
Exactly where is America in the prophecies concerning the tribulation? The political spheres of influence are clearly defined in the Book of Revelation, however, America is not mentioned. There are three schools of thought for those keeping an eye on world events and how they relate to prophecy.
The first school of thought is that the United States in mentioned either directly or indirectly in the Book of Revelation. It takes a little mental gymnastics or the following of the Jewish people throughout history to make this work...
The second school of thought is that the rapture of the church will cause so many people to be removed from the United States that the country will simply collapse. Millions of people vanishing would absolutely devastate the economy and render this country useless.
While I cannot dismiss this option as Jesus said that no man will know the hour in which He comes, I find it rather unlikely that the rapture will be the catalyst that destroys America...The third school of thought is that the United States is either destroyed or at minimum marginalized and is subservient to a ruling world power. It is this school of thought that is difficult for Americans to accept, even though it occurring before their eyes.
America has already been destroyed. It is only a matter of time before the effects are felt by every man, woman, and child living in this country. One characteristic of an American is their ability to deny the simplest of truths. That seems to be the state in which this country is in...The economy of the United States will continually be challenged by the European Union. The dollar is losing its appeal around the would as countries such as China and Russia are preferring to deal in Euros...
God has never allowed a country that turned against Him to go unpunished forever.
The United States is actively and aggressively pushing God out of its collective existence. It is in the papers every day, it is in the courts every week. While the majority of the population claims to belive in God, the country itself is trying to remove every vestige of the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob from existence.
Does this sound like a person who preaching doom and gloom? It is a message that you, as an American, do not want to hear? Do you find yourself rejecting it this message? (Mlynar E. How The West Was Lost. The Christian's role in the declining superpower. Omega Letter Commentary, November 3, 2003. http://www.omegaletter.com/articles/articles.asp?ArticleID=1993 viewed 07/17/13)
Now Ed Mlynar is correct looking at history can help identify the USA in prophecy. He is also correct that the Europeans will increasingly be a threat to the USA's economic dominance. That is consistent with biblical prophecies.
Yet, like Greg Laurie's article, I saw no scripture directly cited in Ed Mlynar's article that attempted to identify the USA in particular in the Bible.
Then, there is another view in the Protestant world which is that there is very little to be fulfilled in biblical prophecy so it is of little direct concern. And this is probably the view held by the majority of people who consider themselves to be Protestant. Here is one writer's opinions:
The reason America is not mentioned in Bible prophecy is because Bible prophecy is not about us, and not just us but Canada, Central America, South America, Sweden, Norway, Vietnam, Singapore, India, and most of the continent of Africa. Why is it always why America’s not mentioned?
Laurie mentions Persia, Libya, and Ethiopia. There’s also Egypt and Israel. The Old Testament mentions these nations. Nothing is said in the New Testament about Israel becoming a nation again or prophecies about Persia (Iran and Iraq), Ethiopia, or Egypt as part of some end-time alliance with an antichrist. The fulfillment of these nation-state prophecies has already taken place. Under the new covenant, as Gentiles, prophecies were made about their inclusion in the covenant blessings that came to Israel in the first century. They were grafted into an already redeemed body of Jewish believers (Acts 2:1–11; Rom. 11).
If the Old Testament was really describing Iran and Iraq in prophetic terms, it seems that the Bible would have used the Hebrew equivalent of Iran and Iraq. (DeMar G. Greg Laurie Still Mixed Up about Bible Prophecy. The American Vision, July 13, 2013. http://americanvision.org/8813/greg-laurie-still-mixed-up-about-bible-prophecy/#sthash.Qnu7xWuc.dpuf viewed 07/17/13)
The above author essentially later discounts various biblical prophecies as being fulfilled and hence not relevant for today. Yet, this view overlooks clearly what books of the Bible such as Daniel and Revelation teach (this will be addressed later).
Some Protestant-type writers do believe that the USA is mentioned in Bible prophecy. Here is something by Irvin Baxter, who hosts a television show called End of the Age:
Many people have claimed that the United States is not mentioned in the prophecies of the Bible. Actually the US was plainly foretold in the Holy Scriptures...
The beasts of Daniel’s vision, found in Daniel chapter 7, bear an uncanny resemblance to nations in our modern world, including the United States. The beasts represent nations that will be in existence on earth when Jesus comes to establish His kingdom. If we can prove that these nations exist right now, then we can know that we live in the era of Jesus’ promised Second Coming!...
In Daniel 7, the four beasts depict four individual nations. In Revelation 13, the Apostle John saw a vision of one beast instead of four. The one beast was described as having the body of the leopard, the feet of the bear, the mouth of the lion, and the ten horns of the ten-horned beast. This conglomerate beast of Revelation 13 is depicting the endtime world government of the Antichrist. All of the beasts in Daniel 7 have now merged into this one unified beast…except for one. The eagle’s wings are not mentioned in the description of the world government beast! Could it be that the United States will be one of the dissenting forces against the Antichrist and his world government, a harbor of safety during the troubled times ahead? (Baxter I. Where is the United States in Bible Prophecy? End Time Ministries. http://www.endtime.com/united-states-discovered-in-the-bible/ viewed 07/17/13)
But while it is true that the USA is mentioned in Bible prophecy and will face troubles from supporters of the Antichrist power, his reasoning about the eagle's wings is not correct nor are the eagle's wings he mentions associated with the USA.
Let's look at Daniel 7:
2 Daniel spoke, saying, "I saw in my vision by night, and behold, the four winds of heaven were stirring up the Great Sea. 3 And four great beasts came up from the sea, each different from the other. 4 The first was like a lion, and had eagle's wings. I watched till its wings were plucked off; and it was lifted up from the earth and made to stand on two feet like a man, and a man's heart was given to it.
5 "And suddenly another beast, a second, like a bear. It was raised up on one side, and had three ribs in its mouth between its teeth. And they said thus to it: 'Arise, devour much flesh!'
6 "After this I looked, and there was another, like a leopard, which had on its back four wings of a bird. The beast also had four heads, and dominion was given to it.
7 "After this I saw in the night visions, and behold, a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, exceedingly strong. It had huge iron teeth; it was devouring, breaking in pieces, and trampling the residue with its feet. It was different from all the beasts that were before it, and it had ten horns. 8 I was considering the horns, and there was another horn, a little one, coming up among them, before whom three of the first horns were plucked out by the roots. And there, in this horn, were eyes like the eyes of a man, and a mouth speaking pompous words. (Daniel 7:2-8)
Notice that the four beasts rise up from the Great Sea. The Great Sea according to the Bible is the Mediterranean Sea (cf. Numbers 34:6-7; Joshua 1:4, 9:1; 15:12,47; 23:4). The USA did not arise from there. But the Babylonian-Chaldean-Greco-Roman empires did. And while one did have "eagles' wings," they were described as being plucked off and this was fulfilled by what happened to Nebuchadnezzar in Daniel 4:28-33. Furthermore Daniel 2:36-45 states that Nebuchadnezzar was then the leader of the first of the four kingdoms. That has nothing to do with the USA.
A reader sent me a link of an interview on CBN by Pat Robertson of a Messianic Jewish Rabbi named Jonathan Cahn that was first broadcast 02/05/2013, that I decided to watch. Jonathan Cahn is probably most well know for a novel he wrote called The Harbinger. He has since wrote other books.
In the interview with Pat Robertson, Jonathan Cahn brought out some interesting points, and some of which may be correct.
For example, he and Pat Robertson referred to the events of 9/11/2001 and tied them in with Isaiah 9:10 and the USA. There may be ties. I would like to quote this in Isaiah, but start with the verse before:
9 All the people will know —
Ephraim and the inhabitant of Samaria —
Who say in pride and arrogance of heart:
10 'The bricks have fallen down,
But we will rebuild with hewn stones;
The sycamores are cut down,
But we will replace them with cedars." (Isaiah 9:9-10)
Essentially the leaders of ancient Ephraim and Manasseh declared that they would rebuild. Jonathan Cahn stated that this seemed to be related to what happened in the USA because of the 9/11/2001 attack.
Jonathan Cahn then referred to statements by various US politicians that were consistent with the "we will rebuild" declaration. The screen showed the following quote that then Senator Tom Daschle made to Congress on 9/12/2001 related to the 9/11/2001 attack:
We will rebuild, we will recover.
Jonathan Cahn and Pat Robinson said that this is what the leaders of ancient Israel said in Isaiah 9:10, but that God later punished them. Jonathan Cahn then added that God later punished Israel and that God punished the USA with the economic crisis seven years later.
Now, I do agree that the Isaiah 9:10 statement has had a type of fulfillment by USA leaders. I would take it a step further and specifically state that since certain prophecies about Samaria appear to be directed towards the USA of the 21st century (Isaiah 9 was and still is, quoted in my article Anglo - America in Prophecy & the Lost Tribes of Israel), that this makes those ties stronger (Isaiah 9:9, that mentions Samaria, was not quoted in the interview; Isaiah 9:21 then seems to tie that to Manasseh, whose descendants have been important in the USA).
Jonathan Cahn, however, then took Isaiah 9:10 in a step or two in the wrong direction. He said that since the ancient Septuagint (a sometimes corrupted translation of the Hebrew scriptures into the Greek language) specifically suggests that a 'tower' would be rebuilt and that something related to Babel was found at the 9/11 site, that this suggests the new tower built at 'ground zero' had connections to the Tower of Babel of Genesis 11:4. If he was hinting that the USA is the representative of the end time Mystery Babylon the Great of Revelation 17 (which he seemed to possibly hint at), he is in error. The Bible shows that Revelation 17 has to do with a seven-hilled city in Europe and its relationship with a Roman/European power there.
Jonathan Cahn brought up interesting side notes about a tree of hope planted where a sycamore tree at the edge of ground zero stood, and that despite efforts to keep the tree growing, it, like the USA was withering. And I would agree with the statement that the USA is withering. Barack Obama was brought up a couple of times, essentially indicating that he was acting like the leaders of ancient Israel and that he, like other US politicians, did not seem to see the biblical significance/warning about some of what he has been doing.
Two Slides
The interview screen later showed something that resembled two Power Point slides, apparently from Jonathan Cahn or one of his books. The first had the following information:
PARTIAL SOLAR ECLIPSE 2015 Sep 13
ELLUL 29 SEPTEMBER 13, 2015
GLOBAL COLLAPSE?
The second had the following information:
TETRAD
4 BLOOD MOONSELLUL 29
THIS SOLAR ECLIPSE IS WITHIN THE TRIBULATION TETRAD
Now if by tribulation, Jonathan Cahn meant the Great Tribulation, then it is not at all possible to begin then. I have gone over this before in various articles and videos, and I have directly debunked the 'Blood Moon' hypotheses of the Great Tribulation beginning in 2014 or 2015 (see Blood Moons and Prophecy and/or watch Blood Moons, Prophecy, 2014, and 2015).
On the other hand, if the seven-year deal of Daniel 9:27 is confirmed then, then the seven-year period some Protestants call the 'tribulation,' with the "Great Tribulation" starting 3 1/2 years later, it is possible for September or October of 2014 or 2015.
Pat Robertson Calls Jonathan Cahn God's Prophet
Near the end of the interview Pat Robertson said:
God...has ordained this young man as His prophet...Jonathan...
Is Jonathan Cahn God's prophet as Pat Robertson stated?
No, he is not.
Jonathan Cahn does not meet the New Testament criteria, plus his misunderstanding of various matters disqualifies him (to learn more about prophets, please see the article How To Determine If Someone is a True Prophet of God and/or watch the video also titled How to determine if someone is a true prophet of God).
Blood moons are not a sign that the Great Tribulation can begin in 2014 or 2015. There are simply too many additional biblically-required signs that Jesus listed in Matthew 24 that cannot occur between now and then. But that does not mean that the seven-year deal referred to in Daniel 9:27 could not be confirmed in 2014 or 2015 and a major biblical countdown could begin.
It remains my view that most will not actually recognize the deal that will be associated with Daniel 9:27, and hence will not take proper steps to be protected from the Great Tribulation that will start 3 1/2 years later.
There are many verses in the Bible that point to the USA and/or its Anglo-allies in prophecy. While some may not be so obvious, some others are.
Here is one on the more obvious side (with multiple translations shown lest some accuse quoting only one as a mistranslation):
39 Thus he shall act against the strongest fortresses with a foreign god, which he shall acknowledge, and advance its glory; and he shall cause them to rule over many, and divide the land for gain. (NKJV)
39 He shall deal with the strongest fortresses with the help of a foreign god. Those who acknowledge him he shall load with honor. He shall make them rulers over many and shall divide the land for a price. (ESV)
39 He will take action against the strongest of fortresses with the help of a foreign god; he will give great honor to those who acknowledge him and will cause them to rule over the many, and will parcel out land for a price.. (NASB)
39 Claiming this foreign god’s help, he will attack the strongest fortresses. He will honor those who submit to him, appointing them to positions of authority and dividing the land among them as their reward. (NLT)
39 He will attack the mightiest fortresses with the help of a foreign god and will greatly honor those who acknowledge him. He will make them rulers over many people and will distribute the land at a price. (NIV)
39 He’ll take action against the strongest fortresses. With the help of a foreign god, he’ll recognize those who honor him, making them rule over many, and he’ll parcel out the land for a profit. (ISB of 2012)
Who has the strongest military currently in the world? Who has the "strongest fortresses?
The "strongest fortresses" in the world belong to the USA, and to a lessor degree (and mainly because of alliances with the USA), its Anglo-allies. The current nation of Israel does not have the strongest fortresses. This passage is referring to the USA being taken over by the European King of the North (the "He" of Daniel 11:39).
And dividing the Anglo-lands would bring much more gain, than the land of Judea (see also Will the Anglo-Nations be Divided?). As many Bible commentators realize, at the time of the end there is no power that resembles the USA. Isaiah warns that "The fortress also will cease from Ephraim" (Isaiah 17:3)--but unlike Manasseh, Ephraim simply does not have the strongest fortresses.
How do we know that the passage in Daniel 11:39, the dozen or so earlier verses in Daniel 11, and the six final ones in that chapter have a future end time fulfillment? Because the Bible specifically teaches that in Daniel 11:27, 11:29, 11:35, 11:40, 11:45.
Furthermore, Jesus referred to a future fulfillment of Daniel 11:31 in Matthew 24:15 and Mark 13:14.
Other passages in Daniel, such as the following, include a referral to the USA and its Anglo-allies:
23 "And in the latter time of their kingdom,
When the transgressors have reached their fullness,
A king shall arise,
Having fierce features,
Who understands sinister schemes.
24 His power shall be mighty, but not by his own power;
He shall destroy fearfully,
And shall prosper and thrive;
He shall destroy the mighty, and also the holy people.25 "Through his cunning
He shall cause deceit to prosper under his rule;
And he shall exalt himself in his heart.
He shall destroy many in their prosperity. (Daniel 8:23-25)
The USA is among the many that will be destroyed in its prosperity (along with its Anglo-descended allies).
Although many do not believe that the USA will be taken over, the Bible tells that some of the world will be astonished when it happens (Jeremiah 18:15-17) and some of the world will marvel that the Beast power of the end was able to win the wars that it will win (Revelation 13:4).
Yet, there are many other prophecies that refer to the USA, as well as its Anglo-descended allies.
Why don't many Protestants understand them? Because they fail to understand the connection between the biblical ancestors of the USA and its Anglo-allies.
Although various portions of this were laid out in places such as 48th and 49th chapter of Genesis, notice what the famous Protestant theologian John F. Walvoord wrote in a book about prophecy:
Toward the close of his life, Jacob pronounced his blessing on Joseph and his sons (Genesis 48:15-20)...Genesis 49:1-28. Jacob had gathered his sons about his bed to give them his final prophetic blessing…In general, the prophecies that Jacob bestowed on his children have been fulfilled in their subsequent history. (Walvoord, John F. The Prophecy Handbook. Victor Books, Wheaton (IL), 1990,, pp. 31,32)
Yet, let's look at just one verse from Genesis 49:
1 And Jacob called his sons and said, "Gather together, that I may tell you what shall befall you in the last days: (Genesis 49:1)
Notice that the Bible says that this prophecy is for the LAST DAYS.
The late COG evangelist John Ogwyn wrote:
There is no record of Ephraim and Manasseh ever becoming a great nation and company of nations prior to Israel’s captivity. They never became a blessing to all the nations of the world before they went into Assyrian captivity in the eighth century before Christ. Clearly, the fulfillment of the promises that God made to Abraham and reconfirmed to his descendants did not occur before ten-tribed Israel disappeared from the pages of your Bible and then from the pages of secular history. (Ogwyn J. The United States and Great Britain in Prophecy. Charlotte, 2006, p. 17)
And John Ogwyn was correct.
Furthermore, the first major prophetic chapter in the Bible after those in Genesis was in Leviticus 26. In a sense it could be called the first major “blessings and cursings” chapter in the Bible. Without going into all the details, notice one verse:
33 I will scatter you among the nations and draw out a sword after you; your land shall be desolate and your cities waste (Leviticus 26:33).
And while God did allow the Assyrians to scatter the children of Israel in the Old Testament, they did not then destroy their cities. Instead, the cities remained and the Assyrians put other peoples in them (2 Kings 17:24).
And why is that relevant?
Because it shows that the “cities” becoming “waste” prophecy is still ready to be fulfilled. Hence, this is another Old Testament prophecy that is waiting to happen—and is likely to impact the descendants of Ephraim and Manasseh.
Notice that something that resembles nuclear devastation is one of the prophesied curses mentioned in the Bible:
23 'The whole land is brimstone, salt, and burning; it is not sown, nor does it bear, nor does any grass grow there, like the overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboiim, which the Lord overthrew in His anger and His wrath.' 24 All nations would say, 'Why has the Lord done so to this land? What does the heat of this great anger mean?' 25 Then people would say: 'Because they have forsaken the covenant of the Lord God of their fathers, which He made with them when He brought them out of the land of Egypt; 26 for they went and served other gods and worshiped them, gods that they did not know and that He had not given to them. 27 Then the anger of the Lord was aroused against this land, to bring on it every curse that is written in this book. (Deuteronomy 29:23-29).
6...He has reserved in everlasting chains under darkness for the judgment of the great day; 7 as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities around them in a similar manner to these, having given themselves over to sexual immorality and gone after strange flesh, are set forth as an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire. (Jude 6-7)
19 Through the wrath of the LORD of hosts
The land is burned up,
And the people shall be as fuel for the fire; No man shall spare his brother.
20 And he shall snatch on the right hand
And be hungry;
He shall devour on the left hand
And not be satisfied; Every man shall eat the flesh of his own arm. 21 Manasseh shall devour Ephraim, and Ephraim Manasseh; Together they shall be against Judah (Isaiah 9:19-21).
The above descriptions are consistent with a nuclear or similar attack. Manasseh represents the USA and Ephraim its British-descended allies. THIS HAS NOT YET HAPPENED IN HISTORY AND IS A PROPHECY FOR OUR TIME. While Israel was uprooted historically, the land did not burn up or become brimstone. Deuteronomy 29:29 provides one reason why most Protestants and most others that profess Christ do not understand these prophecies--they do not do the words of the law that God expects His people to do today.
Why else do many Protestants not see the USA and its Anglo-allies in prophecy?
The short answer is because they have discounted and overlooked various scriptures and do not realize that it is only the descendants of Joseph, Ephraim and Manasseh, that could have fulfilled certain prophecies, such as the following:
3 Then Jacob said to Joseph: "God Almighty appeared to me at Luz in the land of Canaan and blessed me, 4 and said to me, 'Behold, I will make you fruitful and multiply you, and I will make of you a multitude of people, and give this land to your descendants after you as an everlasting possession.' 5 And now your two sons, Ephraim and Manasseh, who were born to you in the land of Egypt before I came to you in Egypt, are mine; as Reuben and Simeon, they shall be mine. 6 Your offspring whom you beget after them shall be yours; they will be called by the name of their brothers in their inheritance...
15 And he blessed Joseph, and said:
"God, before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac walked,
The God who has fed me all my life long to this day,
16 The Angel who has redeemed me from all evil,
Bless the lads;
Let my name be named upon them,
And the name of my fathers Abraham and Isaac;
And let them grow into a multitude in the midst of the earth."17 Now when Joseph saw that his father laid his right hand on the head of Ephraim, it displeased him; so he took hold of his father's hand to remove it from Ephraim's head to Manasseh's head. 18 And Joseph said to his father, "Not so, my father, for this one is the firstborn; put your right hand on his head."
19 But his father refused and said, "I know, my son, I know. He also shall become a people, and he also shall be great; but truly his younger brother shall be greater than he, and his descendants shall become a multitude of nations." (Genesis 48:3-6, 15-19)
Notice that Jacob said that his name was to be named upon the descendants of Ephraim and Manasseh. Notice that he said that Ephraim would be a company of nations and Manasseh a great nation.
Those prophecies have been fulfilled and the British and American peoples have received those prophetic blessings.
The old British Commonwealth has fulfilled the prophecies about being a company of nations. At this present time the Anglo-descended allies of the USA are currently still mainly representative of Ephraim and are a multitude of nations. The USA has become a great nation, and despite being a melting pot, it mainly came from Manasseh. For more information on the receipt of those blessings,
Who is the King of the West?
Only the British and North American peoples have fulfilled this blessings prophecy (more on these and other prophecies can be found in the article Anglo - America in Prophecy & the Lost Tribes of Israel).
Yet, with blessings come responsibilities. And since the British and North American peoples have turned their backs on God, they too will suffer (see also Will the Anglo-Nations be Divided and Have People Taken as Slaves? and/or watch the video Will the USA and other Anglo-nations be Divided and Their People Made Slaves?).
Many Protestant prophecy teachers, because they do not understand the identity of the British and North American peoples do not realize that when the Bible speaks of the "time of Jacob's trouble" (Jeremiah 30:7), that this is a reference to the British and North American peoples, and not just the tiny nation currently called Israel.
Furthermore, because of the history of the British and North American peoples supporting Protestant missionaries, some Protestant leaders believe that God would not allow the USA to be destroyed and hence any prophecies concerning end time destruction they prefer to believe are mainly directed towards others. But this is not really the case.
The USA is mentioned in the Bible.
Daniel 11:39 is clearly describing a time at the end when the strongest military power will be taken over.
While many do not believe this will happen, others will marvel when it does (cf. Revelation 13:4).
The USA and its Anglo-descended allies have enjoyed the benefits of the prophetic blessings given to their ancestors. Yet, they will also face end-time punishment during the Great Tribulation (Matthew 24:21), which is the time of Jacob's trouble (Jeremiah 30:7)
Most who claim to be Protestant do not understand this. But you can.
