Norway’s Anders Behring Breivik Still Does Not Get It

Anders Behring Breivik is the mass murderer on trial for his terrorism in Norway:

(OSLO, Norway) — Anders Behring Breivik defended his massacre of 77 people Tuesday and called the bomb-and-shooting rampage the most “spectacular” attacks by a nationalist militant since World War II.

Reading a prepared statement in court, the anti-Muslim extremist lashed out at Norwegian and European governments for embracing immigration and multiculturalism.

He claimed to be speaking as a commander of a Norwegian and European “anti-communist” resistance movement and an anti-Islam militant group he called the Knights Templar. Prosecutors have said the group does not exist.

His comments in no way justify terrorism. It is sad that some misunderstand morality and kill in the name of religion or politics. What he did was evil, yet he calls it good. Such people were foretold in scripture:

20 Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil;
Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness;
Who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

21 Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes,
And prudent in their own sight!

22 Woe to men mighty at drinking wine,
Woe to men valiant for mixing intoxicating drink,
23 Who justify the wicked for a bribe,
And take away justice from the righteous man!

24 Therefore, as the fire devours the stubble,
And the flame consumes the chaff,
So their root will be as rottenness,
And their blossom will ascend like dust;
Because they have rejected the law of the Lord of hosts,
And despised the word of the Holy One of Israel. (Isaiah 5:20-24)

Notice also some of what Jesus said:

2 They will put you out of the synagogues; yes, the time is coming that whoever kills you will think that he offers God service. 3 And these things they will do to you because they have not known the Father nor Me. (John 16:2-3)

I do not believe that the bomber/shooter was doing God or Norway a service–what he did was evil. After Jesus returns, there will be an end to all this type of suffering:

3 And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. 4 And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away. (Revelation 21:3-4)

God’s Kingdom will change this world.

Currently Anders Behring Breivik needs to apologize and repent.
