PCG reports on Islamic State’s threats to Pope Francis
PCG reported the following:
Vatican: The Islamic State’s Threats Against Pope Are Real
March 5, 2015
he Islamic State’s threats against Pope Francis are not just media propaganda but quite “real,” the chief of the Vatican police force said in a rare interview published on March 1.“The threat exists,” Domenico Giani, the head of the Vatican’s security and police force, said in an interview with Italian state publication Polizia Moderna. “This is what has emerged from my conversations with Italian and foreign colleagues.”
Last month, the Islamic State released a graphic video made expressly for Italy and its Christians. The five-minute video, titled “A Message Signed With Blood to the Nation of the Cross,” depicts Islamic State jihadists beheading 21 Coptic Christians on the coast of Libya. A masked jihadist issues a threat to Italy’s capital, emphasizing how geographically close the site of the slaughter was to the European city: “[T]oday, we are on the south of Rome, on the land of Islam, Libya .… And we will conquer Rome, by Allah’s permission, the promise of our prophet, peace be upon him.”
Representatives of the Islamic State have made threats against the Pope and/or Vatican in the past (see, for example, Egypt bombs Libyan stronghold for Islamic State after Copts are killed).
The Vatican has had concerns about being attacked by Islamic terrorists for quite a few years. It used to be that visitors could simply walk straight into St. Peter’s Basilica in Vatican City. The first couple of times my wife and I visited Vatican City, there were no personal security checks.
With the rise of Islamic terrorist groups, there has been added security. Now, there is normally a massively long line and one has to pass through metal detectors and get purses/backpacks/etc. checked.
With the rise of the Islamic State and its threats, the Vatican is trying to determine how it feels it will be best to deal with this. Perhaps I should add that there are also Roman Catholic prophecies that tell of the destruction of Rome, and likely some in the Vatican take those threats seriously (see also Catholic Prophecies: Do They Mirror, Highlight, or Contradict Biblical Prophecies?).
Because of real and perceived threats from Islamists, Russia, and elsewhere, combined with the USA’s intent to ‘pivot’ its defense orientation towards Asia and away from Europe, the time will come when the Europeans will sufficiently re-arm to deal with its perceived threats.
Both biblical (Daniel 11:40-43) and Roman Catholic prophecy tell of a time when the Europeans will eliminate opposing religions and will takeover many of the currently Islamic nations in North Africa and the Middle East.
Direct attacks against the Vatican and/or Pope Francis could hasten the determination of more in Europe to arm.
Before Europe does launch a massive attack as foretold in Daniel 11:40-43, the time will come when there is a type of ‘peace deal’ in the Middle East (Daniel 9:27; see also The ‘Peace Deal’ of Daniel 9:27). The Vatican would be expected to promote/endorse such a deal, but that deal will NOT last.
Only the return of Jesus Christ and the millennial kingdom will ensure peace.
Disaster and destruction will come to Europe and the Middle East and other areas before Jesus returns (Daniel 11:39-45; Ezekiel 30:2-8; see also Is the Future King of the South Rising Up?, Who is the King of the North?, and How Will Middle East Peace be Brought About?). Threats and horrific actions from the Islamic State will tend to accelerate world events.

The Muslim Brotherhood and the Rise of the King of the South The Bible tells of the formation of a power of nations that are in the Middle East and North Africa that are part of the final “King of the South” (Daniel 11:40-43) The Muslim Brotherhood wishes to have an Islamic empire with basically the same nations. Obama Administration Pushing for an Islamic Empire? Could Pope Francis be the Last Pope and Antichrist? Former Argentinian Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio is now Pope Francis.
