‘Pope Calls for Unity of All Religions’

In his newsletter today, Mike Gendon had the following:
The above newsletter linked to the following article:
At the service of fraternity
(Vatican City, January 5, 2021) – The Pope Video for January, the first one in 2021, was just released with the prayer intention that Francis is entrusting to the entire Catholic Church through the Pope’s Worldwide Prayer Network (which includes the Eucharistic Youth Movement – EYM). The message chosen to open the year 2021 is dedicated to human fraternity: in response to all the challenges facing humanity, the Holy Father asks that we open ourselves to each other and unite, as human beings and as brothers and sisters, “with those who pray according to other cultures, other traditions and other beliefs.” As he has said on other occasions, “There is no alternative: we will either build the future together or there will not be a future. Religions, in particular, cannot renounce the urgent task of building bridges between peoples and cultures.”
Sons and daughters of the same Father
The path towards fraternity proposed by The Pope video starts with openness “to the Father of all,” and with seeing “in the other a brother or sister.” He had already advanced this idea in his latest encyclical, Fratelli tutti: “We are certain that ‘only with this awareness that we are not orphans, but children, can we live in peace with one another.’” For the Pope, the differences among people who profess different religions or who live according to other traditions should not impede achieving a culture of encounter, since after all, “we are brothers and sisters who pray.” https://thepopevideo.org/ accessed 02/01/21
As regular reader of this COGwriter Church of God News page are aware, Pope Francis wants to push for totalitarian control while pushing an interfaith and ecumenical agenda.
It is not a biblical or moral agenda that is being pushed.
Perhaps it should be mentioned that many associated with the interfaith movement have endorsed at least parts of the LGBTQ+ agenda. Related to that, six weeks ago we put up the following video on our Bible News Prophecy YouTube channel:
Here is a link to the video: Interfaith movement pushing LGBTQ+ agenda.
Francis is also planning to make an ecumenical and interfaith trip next month:
Pope Francis’ plans to visit, and he confirmed the pontiff would meet with the country’s top Shiite cleric, Ali al-Sistani, in a significant highlight of the first-ever papal trip to Iraq.
The Chaldean patriarch, Cardinal Louis Raphael Sako, provided the first details of Francis’ March 5-8 itinerary during a virtual news conference hosted by the French bishops’ conference. The Vatican has confirmed the visit, but it still could be called off given the coronavirus pandemic.
The trip is aimed primarily at encouraging the country’s beleaguered Christians, … the first visit by a pope to Iraq also has a strong interfaith component. Francis is scheduled to travel to Najaf on March 6 to meet with al-Sistani, one of the world’s leading Shiite leaders, and to host an interfaith meeting that same day in the ancient city of Ur, the birthplace of the prophet Abraham, according to Sako.
Francis has spent years trying to forge improved relations with Muslims. He signed a historic document on human fraternity in 2019 with a prominent Sunni leader, Sheikh Ahmed el-Tayeb, the grand imam of Al-Azhar, the seat of Sunni learning in Cairo.
Brother Amir Jaje, an Iraqi Dominican who is an expert on Shiite relations, said he hoped Sistani would also sign onto the fraternity document …
Sako said the message of peace was particularly important for Iraqis of different faiths: “As (Francis) always says, we are all brothers and sisters, part of the same family.” 01/28/21 https://starherald.com/news/world/patriarch-pope-to-meet-iraqi-shiite-leader-sistani-in-iraq/article_24f79e19-a4de-5a7f-8837-b0d2a777f235.html
Now, related to the pontiff’s religious unity push with Muslims and others, we made the following video nearly two years ago:
Pope Francis signs ‘one world religion’ document!
On February 4, 2019, at the ‘ Global Conference on Human Fraternity,’ Pope Francis and leading Sunni Imam Sheikh Ahmed al-Tayeb signed a document that some suspect may lead towards a “one world religion.” The World Council of Churches (WCC) General Secretary, Dr Olav Fykse Tveit, who also attended, pushed for religious leaders and institutions to push towards a particular cooperative agenda to help bring world peace. Will there be real peace or just a temporary one? Will destruction come to the USA and nations in the Middle East and North Africa? What will be some characteristics of this “one world religion’? Will all have the same religious practices? Might it have commonalities with the ancient Roman Empire? The Grand Mosque in the UAE was renamed “Mary, Mother of Jesus.” Will Catholic, Islamic, and even Hindu reverence for Marian figures play a role? Is that part of the plan? Should real Christians support the interfaith and ecumenical agendas or remain separate from them? What does the Bible teach? What did Jesus teach? Dr. Thiel addresses these issues and more.
Here is a link to that video: Pope Francis signs ‘one world religion’ document!
Notice the position about Islam from the Catechism of the Catholic Church:
841 The Church’s relationship with the Muslims. “The plan of salvation also includes those who acknowledge the Creator, in the first place amongst whom are the Muslims; these profess to hold the faith of Abraham, and together with us they adore the one, merciful God, mankind’s judge on the last day.”
And apparitions of ‘Mary’ may be involved. And with the current Pope Francis’ Marian focus (see Pope Francis: Could this Marian Focused Pontiff be Fulfilling Prophecy?), I believe that ‘Mary’ will be considered as a tool for interfaith unity (see also Pope Francis Could this Marian Focused Pontiff be Fulfilling Prophecy?).
Some Muslims are talking with some of the interfaith movement, but despite backing from some Muslim governments, the vast majority of Muslims basically do not wish to be part of it. But it is possible that Marianism may be a factor in getting them to do it.
Notice something from Vatican II:
Moslems…They also honor Mary, His virgin Mother; at times they even call on her with devotion. (Nostra Aetate as cited in Bertone, p. 120)
Chapter 19 of the Qur’an/Koran/Quran is, from an Islamic perspective, devoted to Mary and Jesus (“Mary” is also spelled Maryam, Marium, or Miriam in Arabic translations into English). Here are a few passages from it:
019.020 Y: She said: “How shall I have a son, seeing that no man has touched me, and I am not unchaste?”…
019.027…S: And she came to her people with him, carrying him (with her). They said: O Marium! Surely you have done a strange thing.
019.028 Y: “O sister of Aaron! Thy father was not a man of evil, nor thy mother a woman unchaste!”
066.012 Y: And Mary the daughter of ‘Imran, who guarded her chastity; and We breathed into (her body) of Our spirit; and she testified to the truth of the words of her Lord and of His Revelations, and was one of the devout (servants).
While the above supports the virgin birth of Jesus, some also seem to believe that the Qur’an is supportive of teaching the “immaculate” conception of Mary in Islam (Pennington R. Islam’s view of Mary. Muslim Voices, December
22, 2008 http://muslimvoices.org/islam-view-of-mary/ viewed 04/05/2011).
So, there are Islamic ties to Mary that resemble those in post-sixth century Catholicism.
One symbol that the Vatican has used for unity was a ‘Chrislam Cross.’ We also put together a video related to the Chrislam Cross and the interfaith movement:
What is Chrislam? What are the two forms of it? Did the Vatican unveil the Chrislam Cross? How does it look? Are Christianity and Islam theologically compatible? What does the ‘Catechism of the Catholic Church’ say? What about the Bible and the Quran? Did Pope Francis and Sunni Imam Sheikh Ahmed al-Tayeb sign an important interfaith document on February 4, 2019? Do biblical and Islamic prophecies point to a deal between the Europeans and Arabs that will be broken? Do Catholic and Islamic writings support the view that Mary and/or apparitions of ‘Mary’ may lead to temporary cooperation between the Arabs and Europeans? Will such cooperation bring lasting peace or war? Have any of the Eastern Orthodox warned of the danger in using ‘Mary’ to push the interfaith and ecumenical movements? Is there a ‘Mary, Mother of Jesus mosque? Should you wish to be part of the Chrislam movement? What does the Bible teach? Dr. Thiel addresses these issues and more.

The Church of Rome keeps pushing its totalitarian, interfaith, and ecumenical agendas in a quest for peace. Yet, scripturally, prophecies show that the way it is heading will lead to war (cf. Revelation 13).
The Bible warns: “the way of peace they have not known. There is no fear of God before their eyes” (Romans 3:17-18).
Do NOT be deceived — the world religion pushed by the Pope will not lead to peace. But, ultimately to totalitarian control (cf. Revelation 13:16-18; 17:12-13).
