Double-Sabbath; Quizzes, Bible Games, and Lessons

Game Seat

By COGWriter

So, you have two Sabbaths in a row and perhaps you wonder what you and/or your family should do?

Well, in addition to study, prayer, and church services, there are various quizzes and Bible games at the COGwriter website.

A very popular one is the Who Wants to be a Biblical Millionaire? quiz developed by Michael Thiel.

It is an interesting game. It has over 1,000 different questions. Think of it as an entertaining way to assist your doctrinal memory.

Michael also has a lot of games at his Bible Challenger game site.

I believe that the quizzes and animations help reach a wider audience than just the doctrinal and news articles here.

Our son Michael Thiel developed another free online Bible game titled: Bible Asteroids. He thinks that this is perhaps the most exciting Bible game he has released yet. He combined a 2D spaceship game with around 350 relatively easy Bible trivia questions.

He sent the following about how to play it:

Here’s how it works: you control a spaceship and see a trivia question. You must shoot the correct answer, numbered on an asteroid, to win the round.

If you shoot the wrong answer/asteroid, an enemy ship appears and flies towards you. Then, you must shoot the correct answer to summon an ally to your rescue.

Anyway, I remember playing the original Asteroids video game decades ago. So, now Bible Asteroids is available. It is a fast-paced game.

Michael also put together a Pentecost Quiz based upon the Old and New Testaments in the Bible.

Michael also made the following

The Bible teaches that there is a “time for every purpose under heaven” (Ecclesiastes 3:1). Hence, there are new items, games, lessons, and other materials, other than simply doctrinal and prophetic ones at the www.cogwriter.com website.

Here is information on the animations:

15:06

Did life just spring up on its own? Is this possible according to a Nobel-prize winning scientist who believes in ‘spontaneous generation’ and other aspects of evolution? Is there any possibility that life could have just started on its own and thrived to the point of being able to reproduce? Is the academic community biased against those who believe in a Divine Creator God? Does it make scientific sense to believe in the atheistic position? Is there more proof of God’s existence than there is for ‘spontaneous generation’? What about DNA and Charles Darwin? What about the RNA first hypothesis? What about matter, entropy, biogenesis, and abiogenesis? Is evolution possible, probably, or impossible? Dr. Thiel addresses these issues and more.

Colleges and universities teach variations of a godless ‘Big Bang theory’ as science. But is it scientific or simply the musing of scientists? The late Dr. Stephen Hawking stated that there was nothing before the Big Bang. Is it logical that nothing became everything? What should have happened then according to scientists? What happens to radioactive materials like uranium? What does the Bible teach about errors called science? Is God’s existence more logical than a godless ‘Big Bang’? Which has more actual proof? In this animation, a university student asks a professor questions and provides information that students and those out of school should know.

Is God calling you? Christians have always been a minority on this earth. Is there a great battle between God and Satan that God is losing? Is the calling a great treasure or ‘pearl of great price’? What did Jesus teach? If God is calling you, what is your purpose? Are Christians to reign with Christ? Should you support the proclamation of the gospel of the Kingdom of God? Will you have a role to make eternity better? This animation provides scriptures and other information to answer these and other questions.

5:16

Should a first date be between two experienced pickup artists interested in fornication? Or should it be between a man and a woman who would like to actually know each other better? Does the Bible give any guidelines that Christians who date should pay attention to? If so, what are some? This brief animation shows a worldly pickup date at a bar, and an inelegant, but appropriate request for a date in a more open environment. Dating should be fun and involve communication, and not regrets. So, check out our animation on worldly vs. Christian dating.

19:24

Night to Be Observed

What is it? When is it? The KJV refers to it as “THE NIGHT TO BE MUCH OBSERVED.” This scripture-packed animation includes background and specific information related to the children of Israel. It also gives some of the Old and New Testament prophetic ramifications of this event. How the Night to be Observed (NTBO) is typically observed is also covered. The animation also includes a chart of scriptures and biblical dates to determine when that NTBO actually is. Furthermore, the animation provides information from the “Jewish Encyclopedia” which, through scripture, shows that many Jews have confused Passover with the “night to be observed.” This is a great animation to give background on the NTBO and is also appropriate to be watched on the NTBO.
