‘Army of Islam’ would be world’s biggest military

‘Army of Islam’ would be world’s biggest military

When Turkey’s semi-official newspaper Yeni Safak called for urgent action in forming a 57-nation “Army of Islam” to besiege and attack Israel, a suggestion undoubtedly approved with at least a wink and nod by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, it would signal the possible intent to create the largest military force on the planet – one nearly as large as the total population of the Jewish state.

The report came just ahead of the summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and was published under the headline, “What if an Army of Islam was formed against Israel?” It was translated by the Middle East Media Research Institute.

But it wasn’t a rhetorical question. Could this group be a prelude to the coming King of the South of biblical prophecy?

Consider that the Bible shows that that King of the South will have a great and mighty army:

25 … And the king of the South shall be stirred up to battle with a very great and mighty army (Daniel 11:25).

So, we are seeing calls for a great and mighty army.

Back on August 20, 2014, I posted:

The time will come when there will be a type of caliphate confederation that will encompass many nations in the Middle East and North Africa (Daniel 11:40-43; Ezekiel 30:2-8). There will be some type of Western cooperation as it will likely be believed that such a confederation will have leaders NOT be considered to be as radical and murderous as the Islamic State now is.

Actually, I suspect that when the final King of the South begins to rise up, he and his supporters will indicate that such a confederation/caliphate is precisely what is needed to keep the more radical terrorists under control. And while I do believe that such a confederation will take militaristic as well as terroristic actions against the USA and UK (cf. Psalm 83:3-8) , it is likely that politicians in both countries will endorse various aspects of such a confederation.

As I have written before, one of the reasons that a “King of the South confederation” will form is because some national leaders will consider that they are facing a worse threat by NOT agreeing to a confederation. The Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia has been pushing for a group of at least 40 nations with high Islamic populations to deal with terrorism and ‘radical Islam.’ The Turkish call for 57 nations would be an even larger force.

These calls are a prelude for the coming confederation that will be led by the King of the South of biblical prophecy. Notice a relevant prophecy:

40 At the time of the end the king of the South shall attack him; and the king of the North shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter the countries, overwhelm them, and pass through. 41 He shall also enter the Glorious Land, and many countries shall be overthrown; but these shall escape from his hand: Edom, Moab, and the prominent people of Ammon. 42 He shall stretch out his hand against the countries, and the land of Egypt shall not escape. (Daniel 11:40-42, NKJV).

43 and he hath ruled over treasures of gold and of silver, and over all the desirable things of Egypt, and Lubim and Cushim are at his steps. (Daniel 11:43, Young’s literal translation)

The following scriptures are also related to a coming King of the South:

1 The word of the LORD came to me: 2 “Son of man, prophesy and say: ‘This is what the Sovereign LORD says:

“‘Wail and say, “Alas for that day!” 3 For the day is near, the day of the LORD is near- a day of clouds, a time of doom for the nations. 4 A sword will come against Egypt, and anguish will come upon Cush. When the slain fall in Egypt, her wealth will be carried away and her foundations torn down.

5 Cush and Put, Lydia and all Arabia, Libya and the people of the covenant land will fall by the sword along with Egypt.

6 “‘This is what the LORD says:

“‘The allies of Egypt will fall and her proud strength will fail. From Migdol to Aswan they will fall by the sword within her, declares the Sovereign LORD. 7 “‘They will be desolate among desolate lands, and their cities will lie among ruined cities. 8 Then they will know that I am the LORD, when I set fire to Egypt and all her helpers are crushed.

9 “‘On that day messengers will go out from me in ships to frighten Cush out of her complacency. Anguish will take hold of them on the day of Egypt’s doom, for it is sure to come (Ezekiel 30:1-9, NIV).

As I have written for years, the situation in the Middle East and North Africa must change for various biblical prophecies to be fulfilled.

But let me add here, this Islamic army is NOT the army of the Beast of Revelation 13 (see also Can the Final Antichrist be Islamic?).

We are seeing more calls for an Islamic army.

Properly understood biblical prophecies are coming to pass.
