Cue the dawning of the Age of the Internet of Things (IoT), in which internet-connected “things” monitor your home, your health and your habits …

Moreover, it’s not just our homes and personal devices that are being reordered and reimagined in this connected age: it’s our workplaces, our health systems, our government, our bodies and our innermost thoughts that are being plugged into a matrix over which we have no real control.

Indeed, it is expected that by 2030, we will all experience The Internet of Senses (IoS), enabled by Artificial Intelligence (AI), Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), 5G, and automation. The Internet of Senses relies on connected technology interacting with our senses of sight, sound, taste, smell, and touch by way of the brain as the user interface. … we have failed to consider what such dependence on technology might mean for our humanity, not to mention our freedoms.

George Orwell understood this:

Orwell’s masterpiece, 1984, portrays a global society of total control in which there is no personal freedom, and advanced technology has become the driving force behind a surveillance-driven society. Snitches and cameras are everywhere. And people are subject to the Thought Police, who deal with anyone guilty of thought crimes. The government, or “Party,” is headed by Big Brother, who appears on posters everywhere with the words: “Big Brother is watching you.”

Technology is gaining more and more ability to control as the ability for surveillance is increasing. And yes, it is pushing the world to a “Big Brother” type technological new world order.

Big Tech is moving that way.

The Bible has long warned about a coming totalitarian order dominated by Europe.

Europe?

Yes. That is despite the American firms which have set up and dominated computer technology.

So we see that the EU wants a digital transformation to happen next decade.

This not only brings to mind George Orwell, but 666 (Revelation 13:18).

Bible prophecy warns about a power that will have a tremendous amount of control and even understand secret/hidden things:

15 He was granted power to give breath to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak and cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed. 16 He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, 17 and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

It will likely take computers aided with artificial intelligence to aid in the fulfillment of the above scriptures, as well as cyber-spying/monitoring. When the Apostle John penned the Book of Revelation over 1900 years ago such control of buying and selling was simply not possible–with Big Tech and the internet of things, it now is.

The world in general, and Europe in particular is moving more and more towards becoming a totalitarian state.

It is likely that, although the USA is NEITHER the Beast of the Sea nor the Beast of the Earth in Revelation 13, some in the USA are already helping Europe to get to the point of fulfilling surveillance and authoritarian prophecies (more of this in the future is hinted at in Daniel 11:28-30; see also Preparing for the ‘Short Work’ and The Famine of the Word).

Artificial Intelligence and Prophecy

Billionaire Elon Musk declared he was worried that artificial intelligence (AI) may lead to the rise of an “immortal dictator,” a “godlike” entity that could take over the world. Is this accurate, or at least, close in some ways? Does Bible prophecy foretell of the rise of an immoral leader who considers himself above all gods? Will this result in great destruction? What is AI? How might it fit in with various prophecies? Was the increase of technological knowledge we now have prophesied over 2000 years ago? Will 666 control over buying and selling involve any form of AI? Dr. Thiel goes over many scriptures, including prophetic ones, that involve human knowledge–which is the basis of AI. He also points out that when various prophesies were made, there was no technology capable of fulfilling them, but that because of computers, such ability exists now. As far as a ‘surveillance police state’ goes, this is something that Church of God writers have expected for some time.

Notice also the following:

Numerous world-famous scientists and economists see a stern picture of the future. … they see, and tell us humanity’s one great problem, now, is the QUESTION OF SURVIVAL. …

Many scientists and world leaders … say the solution now demands a WORLD GOVERNMENT. There is one thing wrong with this solution. That world supergovernment would have to be given the power of a world police force to enforce its laws, and it would have to maintain the ONLY military force in the world—all nations would have to surrender their armies, navies and air forces to this one SUPERSTATE. World government … totalitarian state of the worst magnitude. As the Wall Street Journal put it some years ago: “It follows that for a world government to be effective, it would have to possess powers of compulsion undreamed-of in history’s worst nightmares …. No matter who were the magistrates of the world-state, they would have to trample on so many national and individual aspirations and attitudes, would have to deploy such an army of enforcers, that the most probable upshot would be a police-state on a colossal scale …” (Wall Street Journal editorials, November 14, 1963 and September 14, 1965).

Obviously man’s approach to the question of peace leaves much to be desired. Nothing in his limited repertoire of feeble solutions has even come close to addressing the fundamental causes of the world’s continuous wars. Millennia ago, the prophets of Israel saw the same failing in the people of their day. Jeremiah wrote: “They have healed also the hurt of the daughter of my people slightly, saying, Peace, peace; when there is no peace” (Jer. 6:14). Isaiah was even more emphatic: “The way of peace they know not” (Isa. 59:8). (4 Horsemen of the Apocalypse – The Red Horse – War. WCG booklet, 1975)

The above was written in the 20th century, when the technology for police-state controls were nothing like we see now.

Parts of a surveillance police state are in place already.

The technology exists to make it worse.

The end result will be bad.

As I have written in the past, it will arise in Europe. Europe will get together because of fear, economic factors, and a distrust of the US for military protection and other reasons. The Europeans and Americans are spending billions to get there.

Notice the following from the Bible:

From the rebellion of the workers of iniquity,

And while you might think that if you have done nothing wrong, you have nothing to fear from surveillance, consider that many in the government of the USA consider that not supporting homosexual marriages, cross-dressing, etc. are extremist. I also saw someone once on a documentary that stated that people who believed in the millennium could not be trusted and should be considered as potential terrorists. The fact that we in the Continuing Church of God would be considered pacifists, does not change the fact that since we hold to millennial and other biblical views that we will not be improperly classified by government employees with various agendas.

The USA is also moving towards being a totalitarian state.

And not just via Big Tech.

With the first doses of Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine now being administered in the U.S., the federal government is giving employers around the country the green light to require immunization for most workers.

If vaccines are so effective, why would someone not getting vaccinated be enough of a risk that they can lose their job?

This type of totalitarian logic is against a lot of what the USA was supposed to stand for.

A “new world order” is moving ahead.

A totalitarian one.

The once called “land of the free” is helping to enable it.
