President Trump revealed his long-awaited plan for the Middle East, setting off an intense discussion about its implications. But one undeniable historical fact is that any attempt by foreign powers to divide the land of Israel is inevitably followed by massive natural catastrophes, economic disasters, or worse.
It seems clear that the God of Israel was very clear in his explicit statement to the Prophet Zechariah:
And I Myself—declares Hashem—will be a wall of fire all around it, and I will be a glory inside it…For thus said the lord of Hosts—He who sent me after glory—concerning the nations that have taken you as spoil: “Whoever touches you touches the pupil of his own eye…For I will lift My hand against them, and they shall be spoil for those they enslaved.”—Then you shall know that I was sent by the lord of Hosts…In that day many nations will attach themselves to Hashem and become His people, and He will dwell in your midst. Then you will know that I was sent to you by the lord of Hosts. Hashem will take Yehuda to Himself as His portion in the Holy Land, and He will choose Yerushalayim once more. Zechariah 2:9-16
August 2017: The Trump Administration’s Middle East negotiating team, led by Jared Kushner and Jason Greenblatt, visited the region in an attempt to jump-start peace talks. Ten days later, Hurricane Harvey, described as the “worst disaster” in Texan history, made landfall, slamming the Corpus Christi region of Texas with 130 MPH winds and 13-foot storm surges.
June 2016: A summit was held in Paris as a prelude to a multi-national conference that would force Israel to unilaterally accept the two-state solution and create a Palestinian state within its borders. As the delegates left the summit, rain began to fall. Over the next 24 hours, the River Seine rose 20 feet, resulting in the worst flooding Paris has seen in decades.
August 5-13 2015: After announcing the nuclear deal, Iran was hit with an apocalyptic-like heatwave hitting an astounding 164℉. The Trump Administration “Vision for Peace” deal, as shown on the proposed map at the beginning of this post, greatly increases land to be put under Palestinian control (see also Trump Administration ‘deal of the century’ peace plan has features consistent with biblical prophecy, but . . .).
Based on other biblical prophecies, I have expected that the USA will be hit by various disasters during the times Jesus called the “beginning of sorrows” (Matthew 24:4-8) and the “great tribulation” (Matthew 24:21). Here is something from my book Donald Trump and America’s Apocalypse:
The Bible warns that debt, and having to borrow from foreigners, is a curse that would hit those who received various biblical blessings as they became more disobedient (Deuteronomy 28:15,43-46).
Donald Trump loves debt. Here something he said about it in 2016:
I’m the king of debt. I love debt.
There was about $20 trillion of recognized US government debt before Donald Trump took office.
He plans to increase that total. Some think his stated policies will add around $10 trillion to that total. (pp. 36-37)
This does not bode well for the U.S.A.
Furthermore, the Bible warns against the type of moral decline that is occurring in the U.S.A.:
12 Therefore thus says the Holy One of Israel: “Because you despise this word, And trust in oppression and perversity, And rely on them, 13 Therefore this iniquity shall be to you Like a breach ready to fall, A bulge in a high wall, Whose breaking comes suddenly, in an instant. (Isaiah 30:12-13)
But how can this happen to the USA? It will likely happen with a combination of events. Notice:
5 “Moreover the multitude of your foes Shall be like fine dust, And the multitude of the terrible ones Like chaff that passes away; Yes, it shall be in an instant, suddenly. 6 You will be punished by the Lord of hosts With thunder and earthquake and great noise, With storm and tempest And the flame of devouring fire. (Isaiah 29:5-6)
The debt situation of the U.S.A. is putting it at risk of being unable to recover should it be hit by weather problems, terrorist acts, war, riots, solar flares, severe earthquakes, civil unrest, devastation of their genetically-modified food supplies, food shortages, and/or various pestilences–an intensity of “sorrows” such as Jesus discussed in Matthew 24:4-8 leading up to the time of the Great Tribulation. Political issues, climate change, trade policies, communication’s deals, and other events are pushing the U.S.A. to a position that will encourage its takeover someday. Disasters, especially if there is an ElectroMagnetic Pulse (EMP) attack or a severe solar flare storm, could be part of a so-called “perfect storm” of events that could set the USA for destruction.
Many sorrows that the U.S.A. will face, like severe weather problems, diseases and earthquakes, will happen in the future, irrespective of who is in the White House (Amos 4:7-10; Luke 21:11). Donald Trump (and some others), however, may hasten or delay the day of destruction. (p. 42)
And yes, USA debt has continued to rise dramatically under the Trump Administration. And yes, the USA is subject to disasters.
As far as the Trump Administration’s “deal of the century,” the European Union denounced it today following the lead of two Islamically-dominated groups:

RUSSELS (AP) — The European Union on Tuesday rejected U.S. President Donald Trump’s proposal for securing peace in the Middle East and expressed concern about Israel’s plans to annex more Palestinian land.
Trump’s plan, which was unveiled last week, would foresee the eventual creation of a Palestinian state, but it falls far short of minimal Palestinian demands and would leave sizable chunks of the occupied West Bank in Israeli hands.
In a statement, EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell underlined the bloc’s commitment to a two-state solution, based along 1967 lines with the possibility of mutually agreed land-swaps, made up of the state of Israel and “an independent, democratic, contiguous, sovereign and viable state of Palestine.”

For three years, presidential senior advisor and son-in-law Jared Kushner, a man of many portfolios, spent considerable time on a plan aimed at addressing the intractable conflict between Israel and the Palestinians. …
Over the weekend, the 22-nation Arab League unanimously rejected it, despite Kushner’s assurances that numerous Arab states were on board. The 57-nation Organization of Islamic Cooperation followed suit on Monday.
The plan, enthusiastically embraced by most Israelis, would deny the Palestinians an independent state and lead to a single “apartheid” system in which the Palestinians living in the West Bank are second-class citizens, said Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit, who is Egyptian. 02/03/20 https://www.latimes.com/politics/story/2020-02-03/kushner-trump-middle-east-plan-palestinians
Before going further, it should be understood that the US never accepted what the EU’s Borrell is referring to as “these internationally agreed parameters.”
But what about biblical ones?
As most readers of this COGwriter Church of God News page are aware, the Bible shows that some type of temporal Middle East peace deal is prophesied in Daniel 9:26-27:
26 And the people of the prince who is to come Shall destroy the city and the sanctuary. The end of it shall be with a flood, And till the end of the war desolations are determined. 27 Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week; But in the middle of the week He shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering. And on the wing of abominations shall be one who makes desolate, Even until the consummation, which is determined, Is poured out on the desolate (Daniel 9:26-27).
The biblically-prophesied “prince” to confirm it will be a European leader who is later called the King of the North in Daniel 11:40. The ‘one week’ has generally been understood by prophecy watchers to mean a seven year deal, that is broken in the middle of it (after 3 1/2 years). This break is also confirmed in the following scripture:
31 And forces shall be mustered by him, and they shall defile the sanctuary fortress; then they shall take away the daily sacrifices, and place there the abomination of desolation. (Daniel 11:31)
The “him” is the European King of the North.
The Trump Administration does not have a time period suggesting a temporal deal, so this is not going to be the final deal.
Plus, since the Europeans do not want to endorse it, it is not the final deal (though it only takes one certain European leader to confirm it to make it the deal).
But it does involve the Israelis and Palestinians and has international involvement–those are features consistent with Daniel 9:26-27.
As far as the Palestinians gaining more land, that is consistent with biblical prophecy (see Gaza and the Palestinians in Bible Prophecy). However, the Bible points to the Palestinians ending up with lands that are not shown in the map at the beginning of this post.
Events related to Daniel 9:27 were listed as number 9 of 20 items to prophetically watch in 2020.
But as it stands, the Trump Administration deal is NOT the Daniel 9:27 deal.

Peace deals most often happen after conflict.
Conflict, such as great damage being done to Jerusalem, consistent with prophecies in Isaiah 22, may be the impetus in getting the deal of Daniel 9:27 confirmed by a European as shown in Daniel 9:26-27.
As far as disasters coming to the USA, that is consistent with various prophecies from Jesus, irrespective of the specifics of the Trump Administration’s proposed “deal of the century.”
