RABBI SPIRO: A NEW ENEMY
Rabbi Ken Spiro, a historian and Senior Lecturer and Researcher for Aish HaTorah Yeshiva, sees China as the new enemy posing an entirely unprecedented danger.
“I think the world has consistently underplayed the threat that China represents,” Rabbi Spiro told Breaking Israel News. “They have never been on the world’s military radar because they have never been directly expansionist regarding territory. They are much more nefarious.”
“China has a powerful economy and even greater ambitions. Russia was never really an economic threat. Russia wanted to rule the world ideologically and militarily but China wants to control the world technologically and economically. And they are much better situated to do this than Russia ever was. They have a superpower economy and steal other countries’ technology.”
“War used to be a straightforward thing. In future wars, technology will play a major role. With the right technology, you can entirely disable another country without firing a shot.”
“If there is going to be a Third World War in the near future, it would be against China. But it wouldn’t be a straight-out shooting war. The US has such a large military that I can’t see China confronting them directly on that front. They don’t even fund proxy wars as Russia did.”
“They can worm their ways into other countries’ technology and infrastructure. Through China’s technology, everything can be watched.” …
Rabbi Spiro noted that the One Belt One Road (OBOR) initiative was the major weapon in China’s plan for global domination. …
Rabbi Pinchas Winston, a prolific end-of-days author, believes that China could very well be the unifying Gog and Magog leader.
“If China was the head of the Gog and Magog War, they would certainly have allies, out of fear if not out of an ideological agreement. As far as the war of Gog and Magog in Ezekiel 38, while China looks to be part of that, it will be led by Russia and will not happen until well after the Great Tribulation (see Ezekiel 38: For Russia & Iran in Our Day?). So, no, China’s recent actions with India is not about to trigger it, nor is it about to trigger World War 3 (see India and China clash: Start of WWIII?).
That being said, yes, China’s One Belt, One Road project has major reach. It will help strengthen the coming European beast power as well as help lead to Armageddon. We made to videos related to that:

China has been embarking on a multi-trillion dollar project to build roads and ports to connect more of Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and Europe to it. This has been called the ‘Belt and Road Initiative,’ Silk Road Project, Silk Road 2.0, and the One Belt, One Road Initiative. While this is expected to benefit Chinese trade (as well as provide infrastructure for the gathering at Armageddon), could this also benefit the rise of Babylon the Great foretold in the Book of Revelation and scriptures in the Old Testament? What about the proposed Polar Silk Road? Will the benefits to Europe last or will the end time ‘daughter of Babylon’ possibly face invasion from nations involved with the Silk Road project? China is working on something known as the ‘Silk Road’ project or the “One Belt, One Road” initiative. NBC reports that China intends to spend one trillion dollars to build roads, bridges, railroads, and maritime facilities to reach from China to Europe and China to the Middle East. Over 60 nations, including Russia, are involved with this. Could this Silk Road project possibly produce thoroughfares that could be used by troops that will amass at Armageddon? China may be plotting a Pearl Harbor-style attack with some kind of EMP assault, according to one expert. …
The EMP Task Force on National and Homeland Security states in a new report that it is “concerned about the vulnerability of our electrical grid and other critical infrastructures and the danger that it poses to our children and families.”
Executive director Dr Peter Vincent Pry recently wrote that China “has long known about nuclear high-altitude electromagnetic pulse (HEMP) and invested in protecting military forces and critical infrastructures from HEMP and other nuclear weapon effects during the Cold War, and continuing today.”
Vincent claims that China has HEMP simulators and related programs that are “almost certainly more robust” than any in the US.
He says that “Chinese military writings are replete with references to making HEMP attacks against the United States as a means of prevailing in war.” …
The EMP Task Force warns that the average American “has no idea” of how vulnerable they are.
The task force says that up to 90 percent of the US population would die within a year if the power grid gets destroyed.

China, directly or indirectly (more likely indirectly by supplying components and technology), may be involved in something like this. Perhaps supplying this to Europe, Iran, North Korea, or ?

President Donald Trump signed an executive order on Tuesday to protect the US from electromagnetic pulses (EMPs) that could have a “debilitating” effect on critical US infrastructure.
Trump instructed federal agencies to identify EMP threats to vital US systems and determine ways to guard against them, Bloomberg first reported. A potentially harmful EMP event can be caused by a natural occurrence or the detonation of a nuclear weapon in the atmosphere.
The threat of an EMP attack against the US reportedly drove the president to issue Tuesday’s order. …
“Today’s executive order — the first ever to establish a comprehensive policy to improve resilience to EMPs — is one more example of how the administration is keeping its promise to always be vigilant against present dangers and future threats,” White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said in a statement, according to The Hill.
With the release of the White House National Security Strategy in 2017, Trump became the first president to highlight the need to protect to the US electrical grid.
“Critical infrastructure keeps our food fresh, our houses warm, our trade flowing, and our citizens productive and safe,” the document said.

But certain analysts do not believe it was enough.
Now, the reality is that a natural (from the sun) or man-made (from a bomb) EMP event could potentially knock out the power grid for major parts of the USA. Notice the following:

If our society suffered a widespread power failure that lasted for weeks or months, it would be no different for us than if we were suddenly sent back to the 1800’s. It would be a strange and dangerous world, and for the average person, it would catch them off guard in the following ways:
1. All commerce will cease. The ATMs won’t work, the banks won’t open, and the cash registers won’t…well, register. For a while cash will be king, but if the crisis goes on for more than a few weeks, then people will view it as worthless. We’d be back to a barter economy in short order.
2. Communications will shut down. If you think you can rely on your cell phone to work in a disaster, think again. In a crisis, when everyone instinctively reaches for their phone, that limit is quickly surpassed and the radios on the tower get sluggish, thus causing the fast-busy signal. …
3. Without electricity, all forms of fuel that our society relies on will stop flowing. All of our vehicles will be dead in the water, and more importantly, the trucks will stop delivering food. …
4. And of course many of those farms will lack water, as will your plumbing. For a couple of days after the power goes out, you’ll still have running water since water towers rely on gravity to feed the water to your home. However, electricity is required to clean that water and pump it into the tower. Once it’s out, that means that you won’t be able to flush your toilet. …
5. When the grocery stores are stripped bare, the pharmacies won’t be far behind. …
6. And finally, one of the most shocking things that people will have to deal with, is the lack of GPS. The GPS satellites will probably keep running, but eventually the devices that read those signals will give up the ghost. These days people are pretty reliant on GPS for directions, and there aren’t as many paper maps lying around. The average person is going to be utterly lost if the grid goes down.

The USA is vulnerable to electromagnetic issues, either from natural causes or man-made ones. China, Iran, and North Korea, all of whom US President Trump has riled up to a degree, allegedly have capability that way.
But even more limited use by terrorists could wreak havoc. Perhaps with technology from China?
Anyway, what could happen if the USA itself were to be hit by one or more EMP weapons in the right areas?
The results of an EMP incident would be catastrophic:
- · The U.S. power grid could be destroyed;
- · Planes would crash;
- · Water and sewerage systems would fail;
- · Banks could not access their records;
- · Transportation systems would be inoperable;
- · The internet would go down;
- · Emergency services would severely be hampered.
Both U.S. and Soviet scientists became increasingly aware of the threat in 1962. A Financial Sense review of the problem noted that 50 years ago, a nuclear test 800 miles away from Hawaii knocked out 300 of the states’ street lights, triggered alarms, and caused damages to a telephone company. Minor EMP events, and especially pulse trains, cause low levels of electrical noise or interference which can affect the operation of susceptible devices. For example, a common problem in the mid-twentieth century was interference emitted by the ignition systems of gasoline engines, which caused radio sets to crackle and TV sets to show stripes on the screen. Laws were introduced to make vehicle manufacturers fit interference suppressors.
At a high voltage level an EMP can induce a spark, for example from an electrostatic discharge when fuelling a gasoline-engined vehicle. Such sparks have been known to cause fuel-air explosions and precautions must be taken to prevent them.[12]
A large and energetic EMP can induce high currents and voltages in the victim unit, temporarily disrupting its function or even permanently damaging it.
A powerful EMP can also directly affect magnetic materials and corrupt the data stored on media such as magnetic tape and computer hard drives. Hard drives are usually shielded by heavy metal casings. Some IT asset disposition service providers and computer recyclers use a controlled EMP to wipe such magnetic media.[13]
A very large EMP event such as a lightning strike is also capable of damaging objects such as trees, buildings and aircraft directly, either through heating effects or the disruptive effects of the very large magnetic field generated by the current. An indirect effect can be electrical fires caused by heating. Most engineered structures and systems require some form of protection against lightning to be designed in.

There are various economic catastrophes including war, famine, pestilences (Matthew 24:4-8) and troubles (Mark 13:8; Jeremiah 30:7), like debt, that will cause a massive catastrophe in the future. And a man-made downing of the electrical power grid through hacking and/or an EMP event could be one of the coming troubles as I have warned readers for many years.
An emp incident could be a factor in the troubles that hit prior to the start of the Great Tribulation.

The USA faces a massive threat from many things that could knock-out its electrical power grid. The USA itself has been developing its own cyber-warfare and EMP technologies, which, of course, also encourages other nations to do so. Plus, the USA is likely to share that technology with Europe.
It would not surprise me if electrical disturbances were part of the actions by terrorists related to prophecies in Psalm 83 and elsewhere.
Jesus taught of a time of “troubles” that would come in Mark 13:
7 But when you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be troubled; for such things must happen, but the end is not yet. 8 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be earthquakes in various places, and there will be famines and troubles. These are the beginnings of sorrows. (Mark 13:7-8)
While most in the USA act like it will go on indefinitely and cannot truly be brought down, the reality is that electrical, weather, pestilence, and other events can devastate the USA. I believe a combination of ‘black swan’ events including terrorism, weather issues, debt problems, and crop failures, which are consistent with Jesus’ words in Matthew 24:4-8, etc. will hit the USA and make it vulnerable to its prophesied takeover (cf. Daniel 11:39).
Consider that in the end times, the Bible tells of a King of the North (Daniel 11:29-45), King of the South (Daniel 11:40-43), and the Kings of the East (Revelation 16:12-16), but no King of the West?
Instead it tells of a time when the power with the strongest fortresses gets taken over by the King of the North (the “he” in the following scriptures):
39 Thus he shall act against the strongest fortresses with a foreign god, which he shall acknowledge, and advance its glory; and he shall cause them to rule over many, and divide the land for gain. (Daniel 11:39)
25 “Through his cunning
He shall cause deceit to prosper under his rule;
And he shall exalt himself in his heart.
He shall destroy many in their prosperity. (Daniel 8:25)
This will cause the world to marvel (Revelation 13:3-4).
It is likely that the USA will have to be in a weakened state to be taken over. And while deceit will be a factor (Daniel 8:25; Lamentations 1:1-2), the fact is that the USA will be hit with troubles and sorrows, beforehand (Matthew 24:4-8) that will weaken it–these could include some type of an EMP event.
The USA is highly dependent upon electricity and its power grid is at risk.
And according to various reports, an EMP attack could happen anytime.
In other words, do not think it will take years for enemy nations to develop this ability–many already have it. And some nations may be more than willing to share that ability with terrorists.
While it makes strategic sense for the USA to look more into this, it would take years for the USA to be able to fully protect against an EMP attack.
