Poland’s highest court has ruled that some EU laws conflict with the country’s own constitution — a move that has raised concerns about Poland’s commitment to the Union.
The European Commission, the executive arm of the EU, and the conservative government in Poland have clashed for several years over the rule of law. Brussels has accused Warsaw of undermining the independence of the judicial system and has so far held back on deciding whether to disburse post-pandemic recovery funds worth about 30 billion euros ($34 billion).
In the latest escalation of their dispute, Polish judges ruled, in a case brought by the country’s prime minister, that national law has primacy over European rules.“The Polish Constitutional Court is not the first European court to question the principle of the primacy of EU law over national law. However, it is the first time that comes from an illegally composed Court and in those rebellious terms,” Alberto Alemanno, a professor of European law at H.E.C. Paris, told CNBC via email.
“This frontal attack is set to backfire both in the EU, where the national recovery plan will remain unapproved, and in Poland, where Poles will start questioning their government’s stance in the EU,” he added.

EU calls out Poland after controversial court ruling
Poland’s ruling against the primacy of EU law has sparked anger among some of the bloc’s member states. Poland’s prime minister has denied the possibility of a “Polexit.”

The European Commission on Friday said it would “use all powers” under its charter to ensure respect of EU law.On Thursday, Poland’s top court said that Polish laws can take precedence over laws coming from Brussels, further deepening a rift with the EU.
“Our utmost priority is to ensure that the rights of Polish citizens are protected and that Polish citizens enjoy the benefits granted by membership of the European Union, just like all citizens of our Union,” the Commission chief Ursula von der Leyen said.

The European Union is more than “a community.” It wants to be an empire.
Here are some comments related to that from the past:

Bruno Le Maire … “Europe should no longer shy away from using its power and being an empire of peace.”
He demanded EU countries tell Mr Trump that Europe is a “sovereign continent” and should decide who it trades with itself.
“We want a way to exchange goods and services when financial flows between Iran and Europe are no longer possible,” he said.
His comments sparked fury, with Tory MEP David Campbell Bannerman warning he doubled any EU empire “would be peaceful”.
He said: “This comment repeats exactly what former EU Commissioner Barosso admitted: the EU is a form of Empire.
“Given that we are commemorating the end of the First World War and 17 million lives lost which was started through the clash of Empires: Austro Hungarian, Russian and German, this is deeply inappropriate timing. I doubt the EU Empire would be peaceful, benign or democratic.
“Unlike the USA an EU Empire would make the world less safe. Are we now to term Remoaners the new Imperialists?”

Yes, European leaders want an empire. That will one day happen (cf. Revelation 17:12-13). And yes, David Campbell Bannerman is correct to realize that a real European empire would NOT be peaceful (cf. Revelation 13:1-4; Daniel 11:39-43).
Since many in the EU want it to be an empire, it considers its law supreme to national ones.
And while it is not the European Union as currently configured, the Bible shows that Europe will become end time trading empire “Babylon.”
It is from the incident of that tower in Genesis 11 that we got the word Babylon.
The Bible shows that the globalist end time totalitarian Babylon will still form and be totalitarian.
As far as Europe becoming totalitarian goes, notice the following prophecies:
15 He was granted power to give breath to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak and cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed. 16 He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, 17 and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. 18 Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man: His number is 666. (Revelation 13:15-18)
Revelation 13 discusses a state and religious alliance.
The late Pastor General of the old Radio/Worldwide Church of God, Herbert W. Armstrong, repeatedly warned since 1934 that there would be a coming European Beast empire:
In 1979, Dr. Herman Hoeh spoke at a WCG Feast of Tabernacles in Arizona that I attended and said that he and Herbert Armstrong were convinced that the two legs/feet of the Beast represented nations in both eastern and western Europe. He included Poland as part of the East.
It is expected that Poland will be in the final Babylonian empire, despite that fact that scriptures in places like Revelation 17 add warnings about an end-time European Babylon:
1 Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and talked with me, saying to me, “Come, I will show you the judgment of the great harlot who sits on many waters, 2 with whom the kings of the earth committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth were made drunk with the wine of her fornication.”
3 So he carried me away in the Spirit into the wilderness. And I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast which was full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns. 4 The woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet, and adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls, having in her hand a golden cup full of abominations and the filthiness of her fornication. 5 And on her forehead a name was written:
MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.
6 I saw the woman, drunk with the blood of the saints and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus. And when I saw her, I marveled with great amazement.
7 But the angel said to me, “Why did you marvel? I will tell you the mystery of the woman and of the beast that carries her, which has the seven heads and the ten horns. 8 The beast that you saw was, and is not, and will ascend out of the bottomless pit and go to perdition. And those who dwell on the earth will marvel, whose names are not written in the Book of Life from the foundation of the world, when they see the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.
9 “Here is the mind which has wisdom: The seven heads are seven mountains on which the woman sits. 10 There are also seven kings. Five have fallen, one is, and the other has not yet come. And when he comes, he must continue a short time. 11 The beast that was, and is not, is himself also the eighth, and is of the seven, and is going to perdition.
12 “The ten horns which you saw are ten kings who have received no kingdom as yet, but they receive authority for one hour as kings with the beast. 13 These are of one mind, and they will give their power and authority to the beast. 14 These will make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them, for He is Lord of lords and King of kings; and those who are with Him are called, chosen, and faithful.”
15 Then he said to me, “The waters which you saw, where the harlot sits, are peoples, multitudes, nations, and tongues. 16 And the ten horns which you saw on the beast, these will hate the harlot, make her desolate and naked, eat her flesh and burn her with fire. 17 For God has put it into their hearts to fulfill His purpose, to be of one mind, and to give their kingdom to the beast, until the words of God are fulfilled. 18 And the woman whom you saw is that great city which reigns over the kings of the earth.” (Revelation 17:1-18)
So, there is a tie in with Babylon, the great city of seven-hills (Rome), and a woman riding a beast.

That coin clearly depicts a woman riding a Beast. The “woman” is called Europa, which is where the word in English, Europe, comes from.
Now let’s see some of what the Bible says about the original tower of Babel in the Book of Genesis.
1 Now the whole earth had one language and one speech. 2 And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar, and they dwelt there. 3 Then they said to one another, “Come, let us make bricks and bake them thoroughly.” They had brick for stone, and they had asphalt for mortar. 4 And they said, “Come, let us build ourselves a city, and a tower whose top is in the heavens; let us make a name for ourselves, lest we be scattered abroad over the face of the whole earth.”
5 But the Lord came down to see the city and the tower which the sons of men had built. 6 And the Lord said, “Indeed the people are one and they all have one language, and this is what they begin to do; now nothing that they propose to do will be withheld from them. 7 Come, let Us go down and there confuse their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech.” 8 So the Lord scattered them abroad from there over the face of all the earth, and they ceased building the city. 9 Therefore its name is called Babel, because there the Lord confused the language of all the earth; and from there the Lord scattered them abroad over the face of all the earth. (Genesis 11:1-9)
The European Union has 24 official languages. It also uses something like the Tower of Babel for some of its symbolism. In addition to the EU poster shown at the beginning of this post, notice the European Parliament building:

The above building was left intentionally unfinished by the Europeans. It should be of interest to note that the Tower of Babel was also an unfinished building.
But like God eventually stopped the Tower of Babel, He will also eventually stop Europe’s end time Babylon:
1 After these things I saw another angel coming down from heaven, having great authority, and the earth was illuminated with his glory. 2 And he cried mightily with a loud voice, saying, “Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and has become a dwelling place of demons, a prison for every foul spirit, and a cage for every unclean and hated bird! 3 For all the nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth have become rich through the abundance of her luxury.”
4 And I heard another voice from heaven saying, “Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues. 5 For her sins have reached to heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities. 6 Render to her just as she rendered to you, and repay her double according to her works; in the cup which she has mixed, mix double for her. 7 In the measure that she glorified herself and lived luxuriously, in the same measure give her torment and sorrow; for she says in her heart, ‘I sit as queen, and am no widow, and will not see sorrow.’ 8 Therefore her plagues will come in one day — death and mourning and famine. And she will be utterly burned with fire, for strong is the Lord God who judges her. (Revelation 18:1-8)
Europe has many ties to the Beast and the woman who rides it and this is reflected in official European coinage and art.
While just having the symbols that the Bible warns about does not completely prove that Europe will fulfill various end time prophecies related to the end time Babylonian Beast power, Europe certainly has many symbols that are consistent with it.
Poland has issues with the EU, but most Poles want to be part of it.
Yet, they do not realize how totalitarian Europe unity will become (cf. Revelation 13:16-18).
Europe will form a powerful superstate. Yes, it will seem unnatural.
Notice the following biblical prophecy about it:
41 Whereas you saw the feet and toes, partly of potter’s clay and partly of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; yet the strength of the iron shall be in it, just as you saw the iron mixed with ceramic clay. 42 And as the toes of the feet were partly of iron and partly of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong and partly fragile. 43 As you saw iron mixed with ceramic clay, they will mingle with the seed of men; but they will not adhere to one another, just as iron does not mix with clay. 44 And in the days of these kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed; and the kingdom shall not be left to other people; it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand forever. 45 Inasmuch as you saw that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it broke in pieces the iron, the bronze, the clay, the silver, and the gold — the great God has made known to the king what will come to pass after this. The dream is certain, and its interpretation is sure. (Daniel 2:41-45)
The strange mix that will become the European superstate will be destructive. And like the Tower of Babel, it will one day fall.
While Poles have reason to be concerned about it and their laws, few of them (and others) pay enough attention to true biblical prophecies to believe what will happen. Being part of Europe means loss of at least aspects of sovereignty.
In general, Poland wants to be in the EU for economic benefits as well as to try to not come under Russian domination.
But, that latter hope will one day also fail according to various biblical prophecies such as in the 50th and 51st chapters of the Book of Jeremiah (see also Russia and Ukraine: Their Origins and Prophesied Future).
Poland, like the rest of the world, needs repentance per Acts 17:30 (see also Christian Repentance).
Trying to insist on its own laws will not save it.
