The use of Artificial Intelligence programs by the masses is increasing. Hoping to increase government control over it, US President Joe Biden signed an executive order last week to attempt to force US companies to reveal proprietary information and testing data to the US government. The US Senate wants to increase the government’s power to do so:
November 2, 2023
Three days after President Joe Biden signed a new executive order on AI, two senators are introducing a bill Thursday to give it teeth.
According to text obtained by POLITICO, the bill from Senate Intelligence Chair Mark Warner (D-Va.) and Sen. Jerry Moran (R-Kan.) would require federal agencies to follow the safety standards developed by the National Institute of Standards and Technology {NIST} earlier this year. …
The legislation also follows the White House’s issuance of draft guidelines on Wednesday directing all federal agencies to appoint chief AI officers and boost its AI hires, as well as the formal launch of a U.S. Artificial Intelligence Safety Institute.
The bill directs the Office of Management and Budget to establish an initiative to provide AI expertise to agencies, directs the federal government to ensure agencies procure AI systems that incorporate NIST’s AI framework and requires NIST to develop voluntary standards for testing and validating AI in federal acquisitions. https://www.politico.com/news/2023/11/02/senate-ai-bill-biden-executive-order-00124893
While there are real concerns about the use of AI –like, for example, how it could be used to give terrorists instructions on how to make various types of bombs, etc., the proposals by the US government look to also be a way for the US government to be able to control AI, monitor its use, and otherwise ensure that the government can use it for surveillance and likely censorship.
The Apostle Paul warned:
20 … Guard what was committed to your trust, avoiding the profane and idle babblings and contradictions of what is falsely called knowledge — 21 by professing it some have strayed concerning the faith. (1 Timothy 6:20-21)
ChatGPT pretends to give truth, but is programmed by many who are deceived and want to push an anti-biblical agenda. It is also pushing faulty information as knowledge–that is hurting society–and will lead to death (cf. Romans 1:18-32).
That said, AI development is not done.
There already is an “AI Jesus” which claims to be the true Jesus–that is blasphemous. The AI is also biased and allows its Jesus to depart from biblical teachings.
Furthermore, the Europe-based World Economic Forum has essentially called for the use of AI to make a false religion that many there want the world to follow (see Artificial Intelligence and Worship of the ‘Machine God’? AI Jesus?):
AI to Rewrite Bible, Create ‘Religions That Are Actually Correct’
June 10, 2023
A top official with the World Economic Forum (WEF) has called for religious scripture to be “rewritten” by artificial intelligence (AI) to create a globalized “new Bible.”
Yuval Noah Harari, the senior advisor to the WEF and its chairman Klaus Schwab, argues that using AI to replace scriptures will create unified “religions that are actually correct.”
Harari, an influential author and professor, made the call while giving a talk on the “future of humanity.”
According to Harari, the power of AI can be harnessed and used to reshape spirituality into the WEF’s globalist vision of “equity” and inclusivism. https://slaynews.com/news/wef-ai-rewrite-bible-create-religions-actually-correct/
The Bible is not “fake news,” but truth–as Jesus said, “Your word is truth: (John 17:17).
The Bible also teaches:
160 The entirety of Your word is truth, (Psalm 119:160)
4 Indeed, let God be true but every man a liar. (Romans 3:4)
Believe the word of God. Do not be among those the Bible warns against, which includes:
15 … idolaters, and whoever loves and practices a lie. (Revelation 22:15)
Lies come from Satan and his followers (John 8:44).
Satan has persuasively used lies throughout history and yes, his minions have already used AI for deception–and that is not over yet.
As I have warned here for many years, it is likely that the beasts of Revelation 13 will use AI–here is a link to a video we made back in 2018: Artificial Intelligence and Prophecy.
The Bible shows that the beasts of Revelation 13 are connected to demons as we see from the following:
13 And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs coming out of the mouth of the dragon, out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet. 14 For they are spirits of demons, performing signs, which go out to the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty. (Revelation 16:13-14)
The false prophet is the “beast coming up out of the earth” of Revelation 13:11, which we address later in this article.
With the beasts of Revelation 13 in mind, notice the following article:
ChatGPT chief warns of some ‘superhuman’ skills AI could develop
November 2, 2023
The CEO of one of the most popular artificial intelligence platforms is warning that AI systems could eventually be capable of “superhuman persuasion.”
“I expect AI to be capable of superhuman persuasion well before it is superhuman at general intelligence,” Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, the company behind the popular ChatGPT platform, said on social media earlier this month.
He added that such capabilities could “lead to some very strange outcomes.” …
“There is a threat for persuasive AI, but not how people think. …,” Christopher Alexander, chief analytics officer of Pioneer Development Group, told Fox News Digital.
“Machine learning and pattern recognition will mean that an AI will get very good at identifying what persuasive content works, in what frequency and at what time. This is already happening with digital advertising. Newer, more sophisticated AI will get better at it.” …
Phil Siegel, founder of the Center for Advanced Preparedness and Threat Response Simulation (CAPTRS), argued “we are already at that point” of such persuasion with “some AI technology.”
“If a bad actor coded an AI algorithm to misuse data or make incorrect conclusions, I think it could persuade that it was correct,” Siegel told Fox News Digital. …
Jon Schweppe, policy director of American Principles Project, told Fox News Digital such concerns are warranted, joking that we might one day see robots running for Congress.
“It stands to reason that as AI learns how to simulate human behavior, it also learns how to dupe susceptible people and perpetrate fraud,” Schweppe said. https://www.foxnews.com/us/chatgpt-chief-warns-superhuman-skills-ai-develop
So, the concern is that there may be a lot of deception associated with AI.
Interestingly, there is a biblical prophecy from the Apostle Paul about increased deception in the last days:
1 But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: … 12 Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution. 13 But evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived. 14 But you must continue in the things which you have learned and been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them, 15 and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. (2 Timothy 3:1, 12-15)
Notice that this is a last day’s prophecy about deception as well as persecution coming to the faithful.
As far as “evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived,” we have already see some of this with AI and have made some videos related to that (watch ChatGPT and 666, PETA’s Preposterous Preaching, AI Jesus? Artificial Intelligence God?, and 666, the Censorship Industrial Complex, and AI).
But what about AI and the beasts of Revelation 13?
Let’s look at some passages from that chapter of scripture:
1 Then I stood on the sand of the sea. And I saw a beast rising up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and on his horns ten crowns, and on his heads a blasphemous name. 2 Now the beast which I saw was like a leopard, his feet were like the feet of a bear, and his mouth like the mouth of a lion. The dragon gave him his power, his throne, and great authority. 3 And I saw one of his heads as if it had been mortally wounded, and his deadly wound was healed. And all the world marveled and followed the beast. 4 So they worshiped the dragon who gave authority to the beast; and they worshiped the beast, saying, “Who is like the beast? Who is able to make war with him?”
5 And he was given a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies, and he was given authority to continue for forty-two months. 6 Then he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme His name, His tabernacle, and those who dwell in heaven. 7 It was granted to him to make war with the saints and to overcome them. And authority was given him over every tribe, tongue, and nation. 8 All who dwell on the earth will worship him, whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. (Revelation 13:1-8)
The above beast will speak “great things and blasphemies” and persecute Christians–that is consistent with the warning from the Apostle Paul in 2 Timothy about deceivers.
What about the use of persuasive AI?
The following, also from Revelation 13, shows that persuasion, persecution, and surveillance will be used to support the beast:
11 Then I saw another beast coming up out of the earth, and he had two horns like a lamb and spoke like a dragon. 12 And he exercises all the authority of the first beast in his presence, and causes the earth and those who dwell in it to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed. 13 He performs great signs, so that he even makes fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men. 14 And he deceives those who dwell on the earth by those signs which he was granted to do in the sight of the beast, telling those who dwell on the earth to make an image to the beast who was wounded by the sword and lived. 15 He was granted power to give breath to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak and cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed. 16 He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, 17 and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
18 Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man: His number is 666. (Revelation 13:11-18)
AI looks to be part of how the control of buying and selling will the implemented and monitored.
As far as power to the “image of the beast,” that looks to be demonic and/or will involve technology like AI.
This “superhuman” speaking “image of the beast” will contribute to more deception.
The technology to control buying and selling did not exist until we had computers. Interestingly, notice another end time prophecy supportive of computers from the Book of Daniel:
4 … Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book until the time of the end; many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase. (Daniel 12:4)
Computers, followed by the internet and smart cellular telephones, have helped fulfill the above.
Is AI dangerous?
Yes.
The reason is not the technology per se, the reason is that as human societies go more and more away from God’s standards of morality, they will use more things in a negative manner.
Does anyone else think that AI could lead to Orwellian control? Yes. Notice something from five years ago:
Op-Ed by Mathew Maavak
Two Artificial Intelligence-driven Internet paradigms may emerge in the near future. One will be based on logic, smart enterprises and human merit while the other may morph into an Orwellian control tool. Even former Google CEO Eric Schmidt has foreseen a bifurcation of the Internet by 2028 and China’s eventual triumph in the AI race by 2030. 10/15/18 https://www.activistpost.com/2018/10/why-china-will-win-the-artificial-intelligence-race.html
Elon Musk: ‘Immortal’ evil superintelligence could rule world
Billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk’s biggest fear is a form of artificial intelligence that could create an “immortal dictator,” a “godlike” entity that rules the world and one “from which we can never escape.” …
“The least scary future I can think of is one where we have at least democratized AI because if one company or small group of people manages to develop godlike digital superintelligence, they could take over the world,” Musk said. “At least when there’s an evil dictator, that human is going to die. But for an AI, there would be no death. It would live forever. And then you’d have an immortal dictator from which we can never escape.” 04/07/18 http://www.wnd.com/2018/04/elon-musk-immortal-evil-superintelligence-could-rule-world/#b0f3rERzXiKHeXE8.99
While Elan Musk fears the rise of an Immortal dictator, the Bible shows that a mortal, European, dictator will rise up (Revelation 17:12-13).
Yes, AI looks like it will be involved.
So, yes, I agree that we will see what some may consider to be superhuman persuasion that will likely incorporate a lot of AI.
Even now, we keep hearing of deep fakes and various celebrities and are noticing that AI is making people believe that an AI-generated image and/or voice is real (e.g. https://variety.com/2023/digital/news/scarlett-johansson-legal-action-ai-app-ad-likeness-1235773489/).
It was reported that the mayor of New York deceived people attempting to persuade them in languages he did not speak using AI:
New York’s mayor has admitted using audio deepfakes to call residents in languages he doesn’t speak.
Eric Adams has been heard speaking Spanish and Mandarin thanks to the technology, which he said was a way to reach more people.
Speaking at a news briefing (in English), the Democrat said the “robocalls” were used to promote local events like recruitment fairs and concerts.
The self-described “techie” insisted … some he’d spoken to were “excited” to hear their mayor in their own language. 10/18/23 https://uk.finance.yahoo.com/news/yorks-mayor-uses-audio-deepfakes-093800681.html
But he was not the one speaking to them–AI was. Also, today I saw a piece on CNN where they played a song sung by Johnny Cash–except the song seemed to be written after his death–anyway, while it sounded like Johnny Cash, CNN explained that it was AI generated–expect more AI fakes (watch also Lies and Deepfakes).
Sadly, we know that worse things will come.
Prophetically we know that more censorship is coming:
11 “Behold, the days are coming,” says the Lord God,
“That I will send a famine on the land,
Not a famine of bread,
Nor a thirst for water,
But of hearing the words of the Lord.
12 They shall wander from sea to sea,
And from north to east;
They shall run to and fro, seeking the word of the Lord,
But shall not find it. (Amos 8:11-12)
AI will likely be used to help minimize the possibility that people will be able to find much about the true word of God on places like the internet. Therefore, one of its persuasive methods looks to be to eliminate alternative, but true, narratives.
Jesus warned:
34 “But take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that Day come on you unexpectedly. 35 For it will come as a snare on all those who dwell on the face of the whole earth. 36 Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man.” (Luke 21:34-36)
One of the reasons that what is going to happen will come “unexpectedly … as a snare on all those who dwell on the face of the whole earth,” is because that the beasts of Revelation and their supporters will be using many forms of persuasion.
And since AI is now developing, it is logical to conclude that they will employ at least some Artificial Intelligence in their improper methods of persuasion.
Furthermore, as the Apostle Paul wrote, remember and observe “the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.”
The Bible also shows that the power of these beasts will be destroyed and the Kingdom of God will be established:
19 And I saw the beast, the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against Him who sat on the horse and against His army. 20 Then the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who worked signs in his presence, by which he deceived those who received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image. These two were cast alive into the lake of fire burning with brimstone. (Revelation 19:11-19)
15 Then the seventh angel sounded: And there were loud voices in heaven, saying, “The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!” (Revelation 11:15)
Until then, watch and pray, as Jesus said, so, “that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man.”
Why repeated warnings about AI?
Because it is something to “watch” and its development in the 2020s is consistent with the end coming within a decade.
UPDATE 1105/23: We just uploaded the following related video:
Artificial Intelligence Superhuman Persuasion?
On October 30, 2023, US President Joe Biden signed an executive order to pressure companies involved with artificial intelligence (AI) to share their proprietary technology and testing data with the US government. On November 2, 2023, a bipartisan bill was introduced in the US Senate to essentially force US companies to do so. Are there serious risks that the US government is concerned about? Are there risks when governments get involved with AI? Does AI sometimes give false and misleading information? Could such be consistent with “last days” warnings from the Apostle Paul? Is the AI Jesus blasphemous? Have any associated with the World Economic Forum proposed having AI create a world religion that many feel will be better than existing ones? What are some of the “superhuman” skills that AI may develop? Are there people concerned that programs like ChatGPT may learn how to have “superhuman persuasion”? Could AI possibly be involved with the beasts of Revelation 13? Might demons also be involved? Have any government leaders used AI deep fakes in a deceptive manner? Could AI be used for ‘666’ control of buying and selling, persecution of Christians, and to be a factor in the coming ‘famine of the word’? Steve Dupuie and Dr. Thiel addresses these issues and more.
