Germany has decided to be more directly involved in the fight against the Islamic State:

Germany’s parliament has voted overwhelmingly to send military aid to the fight against Islamic State militants in Syria, answering France’s appeal for help after last month’s deadly Paris attacks.

Lawmakers in Berlin voted 445-146 Friday to send Tornado reconnaissance jets, a frigate, refueling aircraft and up to 1,200 military personnel to join the coalition against IS. http://www.voanews.com/content/germany-votes-to-support-fight-against-islamic-state/3087596.html

Germany may need a bigger army to cope with the more assertive role it has adopted in global missions, the defense minister said on Thursday, a day before parliament votes on joining the campaign against Islamic State (IS) militants in Syria.

The current German military is called the Bundeswehr. It is reported that:

As I have been writing for some time, the actions of terrorists like the Islamic State are getting many in Europe concerned that they need a stronger military. And a stronger military for Europe is prophesied (cf. Revelation 13:4; Daniel 11:39-43; cf. Isaiah 10:5-11).

Of course, it is not just Europe that is reacting to terrorist events.

The shootings in Paris, as well as the shootings in San Bernadino, have reminded Americans that the USA is vulnerable. While I have long written that Europe would one day turn to a ‘strong man’ to lead it, we are seeing something like that happening in the USA.

Trump is way ahead in GOP race. And he’s only going to get stronger

The political headline of the morning is that Donald Trump is now leading the Republican presidential field by 20 points, according to a new CNN poll. Trump stands at 36% in the poll (up 9 points since October), while Ted Cruz is at 16% (up 12), Ben Carson at 14% (down 8), Marco Rubio at 12% (up 4), Chris Christie at 4% (unchanged), and at Jeb Bush 3% (down 5). It’s Trump’s biggest lead in any live-telephone national poll. And here’s the thing: He’s likely to only get stronger, given that this poll was taken BEFORE the San Bernadino shootings. Why do we say that? According to the poll, more Republicans (46%) think he can handle ISIS better than his closest competition (Cruz at 15%); more Republicans (48%) think he’s better on illegal immigration than his closest competitor (Rubio at 14%); and more Republicans (30%) see him better on foreign policy than anyone else (Cruz at 17%). Now we have two important caveats: One, CNN’s GOP screen here consists of registered Republican voters and GOP-leaning independents. Terrorists incidents around the world, as well as in the USA, are likely to help Republican presidential candidates. And particularly Donald Trump.

Donald Trump’s direct, but often bombastic style, appeals to many who are concerned about their safety. He keeps saying he is a man of action as he has repeatedly blasted current US President Barack Obama and others for not taking what he feels are appropriate actions against the Islamic State (which he normally refers to as ISIS).

Whether Donald Trump wins office or not, the Islamic State will one day be defeated. However, the existence of the Islamic State may greatly impact the US presidential election, events in Europe, and will also encourage the formation of the final King of the South of biblical prophecy (Daniel 11:40-43).

But German leaders, Donald Trump, most American voters, and most others do not realize this. And when there is a temporal peace deal which will come in the Middle East (see The ‘Peace Deal’ of Daniel 9:27), many will be deceived into thinking that humankind has brought about peace, but sudden destruction will come per 1 Thessalonians 5:3. If Donald Trump wins, he will help set that up.
