Iran’s president has warned that foreign forces are threatening the security of the Gulf, after the US said it was deploying troops to the region.
Hassan Rouhani said foreign forces had always brought “pain and misery” and should not be used in an “arms race”.
The US is sending more troops to Saudi Arabia after an attack on Saudi oil facilities both nations blame on Iran.
Mr Rouhani also said … “Foreign forces can cause problems and insecurity for our people and for our region,” he said in the televised speech.
He called the deployment of such forces in the past a “disaster” and told them to “stay away”.

Iran is ready to destroy any country that launches an attack on its territory, a senior military official has said, after the US announced it was sending troops to support Saudi Arabia.
“Be careful and make no mistake,” said the head of the Revolutionary Guards.
Iran denies the accusations by the US and Saudi Arabia that is behind recent attacks on two Saudi oil facilities.
A top Saudi official said “necessary measures” would be taken after the investigations were concluded.
Saudi Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Adel al-Jubeir did not give details of possible actions, but vowed to release the full findings of the investigations.

While it is easy for most to dismiss threats from Iran, it should be pointed out that there is a prophecy in the Book of Psalms which includes a confederation of what are now Islamic nations that will conspire against end time Israel.
Notice something from the old Radio Church of God and old Worldwide Church of God:
Turn to the astounding prophecy found in Psalm 83:1-8. David, inspired of God, predicted the coming time when ALL of Israel’s enemies would join together in an effort to crush out even the name “Israel” from the face of the earth! (Verse 4) “For they have consulted together with one consent: they are confederate against thee…” (verse 5). Notice the nations making up this confederation. “Edom [Turkey], and the Ishmaelites [Saudi Arabia]; Moab [Jordan], and the Hagarenes [they anciently dwelt in the land known as Syria today]; Gebal {Lebanon}, and Ammon [Jordan] and Amalek; the Philistines with the inhabitants of Tyre; Assur [whose descendants migrated to Germany] is joined with them; they have helped the children of Lot” {Moab and Ammon in modern Jordan). Here we see that the Arab nations mentioned are allied with Germany (Assur) which we know from other prophecies will be the military leader — naturally so — of a United States of Europe…Egypt…will provoke the prophesied United Europe (Dan. 11:40). This European power — called the “king of the north” in Daniel 11 — shall invade and occupy the “glorious land” of Palestine (verse 41). “And the land of Egypt shall not escape”(Boraker R. a union of Arab nations — a vast confederacy bound together in an effort to crush out the name “Israel” from the face of the earth! This Arab-Moslem confederacy may very well be the previously mentioned “king of the south” of Daniel 11 — a sphere of power encompassing vast portions of the Islamic world. “They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation; that the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance. But in the end, this European-Arab alliance will prove short-lived…And the king of the north shall come against him [the king of the south]…Daniel 11:40-41…The Arab-Moslem Confederation will, of course, be thrown into chaotic disarray in the fact of invasion. The above is discussing an Islamic plan to destroy end time Israel, which includes the USA per various prophecies in Genesis and Daniel. But it will not end well for the Muslims either as Daniel 11:40-43 and Ezekiel 30:2-8 point out.
Now, Iran has hoped to improve aspects of its economy so that it can try to persuade the Islamic world to follow it. But US sanctions have hurt its economy and stifled its ability to do that.
Iran wants to takeover Jerusalem and lead the Islamic world. It then wants to takeover the world.
The Bible shows that it is possible that God will allow Iran, with apparently Syria, to strike the nation of Israel:
1 The burden against the Valley of Vision.
What ails you now, that you have all gone up to the housetops, 2 You who are full of noise, A tumultuous city, a joyous city? Your slain men are not slain with the sword, Nor dead in battle. 3 All your rulers have fled together; They are captured by the archers. All who are found in you are bound together; They have fled from afar. 4 Therefore I said, “Look away from me, I will weep bitterly; Do not labor to comfort me Because of the plundering of the daughter of my people.”
5 For it is a day of trouble and treading down and perplexity By the Lord God of hosts In the Valley of Vision — Breaking down the walls And of crying to the mountain. 6 Elam bore the quiver With chariots of men and horsemen, And Kir uncovered the shield. 7 It shall come to pass that your choicest valleys Shall be full of chariots,And the horsemen shall set themselves in array at the gate.
8 He removed the protection of Judah. You looked in that day to the armor of the House of the Forest; 9 You also saw the damage to the city of David, That it was great; And you gathered together the waters of the lower pool. 10 You numbered the houses of Jerusalem, And the houses you broke down To fortify the wall. 11 You also made a reservoir between the two walls For the water of the old pool. But you did not look to its Maker, Nor did you have respect for Him who fashioned it long ago.
12 And in that day the Lord God of hosts Called for weeping and for mourning,For baldness and for girding with sackcloth. 13 But instead, joy and gladness, Slaying oxen and killing sheep, Eating meat and drinking wine: “Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die!”
14 Then it was revealed in my hearing by the Lord of hosts,”Surely for this iniquity there will be no atonement for you, Even to your death,” says the Lord God of hosts. (Isaiah 22:1-14 NKJV)
Elam looks to be a reference to at least some in Iran. Kir is of interest as it has several possibilities. One is that the Bible tells that after Tiglath-Pileser king of Assyria took over Damascus, he moved Syrians to Kir. While this does not mean that Kir must (or must only) be a reference to Syria, the fact that Syria is an ally of Iran is interesting. Some believe Kir is an area in the south of Iran, while others suggest closer to the Black Sea. The Bible tells of a time when Kir will be destroyed (Isaiah 15:1b) and also says that Syria’s capital Damascus will be destroyed (Isaiah 17:1).
Anyway, the point I wish to make is that Isaiah 22 shows, presuming it has a future application, that a time is coming when God will take away the protection of Judah and the City of David (Jerusalem, cf. 2 Kings 9:28) and that Iran is a threat. Iran may decide that an attack against Israel is less dangerous than one directly against the USA.
Iran may well lead a major military attack against Israel–and it may strike out against USA targets. But Iran will not do well and will not be the power that leads the Islamic nations in the Middle East and North Africa–the coming King of the South will be an Arabic power (cf. Daniel 11:40-43; Ezekiel 30:2-8)–despite Iranian actions and threats.
I have long written that Iran would be somehow neutralized as it is NOT the King of the South of biblical prophecies.
Consider the following prophecy:
34 The word of the Lord that came to Jeremiah the prophet against Elam, in the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah king of Judah, saying, 35 “Thus says the Lord of hosts:
‘Behold, I will break the bow of Elam,
The foremost of their might.
36 Against Elam I will bring the four winds
From the four quarters of heaven,
And scatter them toward all those winds;
There shall be no nations where the outcasts of Elam will not go.
37 For I will cause Elam to be dismayed before their enemies
And before those who seek their life.
I will bring disaster upon them,
My fierce anger,’ says the Lord;
‘And I will send the sword after them
Until I have consumed them.
38 I will set My throne in Elam,
And will destroy from there the king and the princes,’ says the Lord. (Jeremiah 49:34-38)
Iran needs to be cautious as biblical prophecies suggest it will be involved in militaristic ventures, and ultimately that will not end well for Iran.
These military ventures look to harm the tiny nation of Israel, and, even ignoring Psalm 83, could even impact the USA.
Iran has a lot of nuclear materials and could at least now produce what is called a ‘dirty bomb.” A “dirty bomb” is one where radioactive materials are placed inside a conventional bomb. The resultant explosion would contaminate an area and make it radioactively dangerous. Many also believe that Iran is close to producing not just dirty bombs, but actual nuclear bombs. Iran having drone stealth technology puts the USA, Israel, and others at risk of being attacked with nuclear explosions. This could very well happen.
Furthermore, another way that Iran could inflict major damage to the USA would be an effective use of electromagnetic pulse (EMP) weapons. Iran is believed to have that capability.
An EMP attack by Iran, in the proper locations, could greatly affect Israel, the USA, or even Europe. Iran test-fired a missile a while back that was believed to be capable of delivering an emp bomb. Thus, Iran probably is considering multiple ways of employing them. Power transformers in the USA (and elsewhere) are at risk from emp bombs and this could cause major economic and other damage to the USA. Such emp weapons, however, have never been used large scale, so precisely what would happen is subject to debate. But the reality is that emp weapons, as well as solar flares which have similar potential, are threats to the USA, its defenses, and its economy.
The USA, despite its military strength, is vulnerable to being hurt by EMP weapons as well as nuclear weapons, chemical weapons, dirty bombs, terrorism, and biological weapons that Iran and/or its ally Syria possess. It has been shown in a test that EMPs can basically work as advertised, and this may give the Iranians more reason to look further into using them if they feel pressed.
Even if the USA is not directly affected, tensions with Iran could very well result in a regional conflict in the Middle East that will bring about the ‘peace deal’ of Daniel 9:27 (see also The ‘Peace Deal’ of Daniel 9:27). But since peace deals normally come after war, a significant regional conflict may well happen first.
Yet, while Iran can harm Israel, and even the USA, it simply is not in a military position to defeat the USA or take over the lead of the Islamic world.
