Iranian Leader Calls for Vanishing USA and Israel from the Universe

Another Iranian leader is publicly calling essentially for the elimination of the USA and Israel:

…speaker of the Iranian parliament Ali Larijani…Speaking at a Tehran conference, Larijani was cited by Iran’s Press TV as saying that “the time has come for the disappearance of the West and the Zionist regime – which are two dark spots in the present era – from the face of the universe.”
“The U.S. and the Zionist regime are the prime sources of tyranny and gloom in the current age. The Muslim world is fed up with the injustice and abuse by these governments,” Larijani added.
Iran has been calling for the other Muslim nations to support it and its plans to eliminate Israel for some time. And while an Islamic confederation is prophesied to rise up, it will not be led by Iran.
Dr. Meredith has also specifically stated,
The King of the South is not Iran…The King of the South cannot be Iran. (Meredith RC. Endure with Faith. Sermon, Charlotte (NC), September 10, 2005).
I should probably add here that the Iranians are Persian, and not Arabic. They primarily speak Farsi, which is not an Arabic language. While the Iranians tend to be strict Muslims, they are NOT Arabs ethnically, but could provide some support to the King of the South. Detailed comparisons of the peoples listed in Daniel 11:40-43 and Ezekiel 30:1-9 and Psalm 83:4-8 mainly show Arabic peoples with apparently not permanent Turkish support (with temporary European support in Psalm 83). And while Iran can support this Islamic power, scripture does not show it leading it.
Because I do not believe that it will be the final King of the South of Bible prophecy (cf. Daniel 11:40-43), I have tended to believe that Iran may somehow get “neutralized” before this final king rises up. A serious regional conflict in the Middle East may neutralize Iran and neutralize much of its influence. And Syria (Isaiah 17:1) and parts of Lebanon and others may be involved.
Now, the reality is that the cost to the USA and/or Israel for a regional war involving Iran and/or Syria will be higher than many in the USA or Israel believe. Between terrorist acts, sustained resistance, chemical weapons, biological weapons, emp-type bombs, and/or even disruptions of the internet, Iran and/or Syria can inflict significant damage to their enemies. Yet, the USA and the tiny of nation would not be “vanished” by that–it will come later, by the King of the North (cf. Daniel 11:39) for he takes on the King of the South.
