Apparently, ThinkProgress believes it is on the side of true science and had the solution to the world’s climate issues.
It does not.
While electing a Democrat, instead of re-electing Donald Trump, might result in less air pollution, this will not stop the disaster that is coming.
The USA needs national repentance and that is not something ThinkProgress, the Democratic candidates for the presidential nomination, nor Donald Trump are promoting.
The “left” is trying to scare people into believing that the re-election of Donald Trump is an existential threat to motivate more to vote against him.
And, yes, Donald Trump is an existential threat to the USA.
One the other hand, the “right” is trying to scare people by stating that the Democratic candidates for the presidential nomination are an economic threat as well as a religious freedom threat to the USA.
And yes, the Democratic candidates for the presidential nomination are an economic threat as well as a religious freedom threat to the USA. And, yes if the next President of the United States is a Democrat, that leader will also be an existential threat to the USA.
Regarding the end times, the Bible warns:
1 But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, 4 traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away! (2 Timothy 3:1-5)
The above applies to many modern politicians–and, in my view, applies to all who are likely to possibly win the 2020 presidential election.

Various politicians have announced their intentions to run for the office of the President of the United States in 2020. ‘Politico’ ran an article about the ‘sorry state’ of various candidates. Some candidates have felt the need to apologize for previous statements in support of biblical marriage and the need to endorse items of the LGBTQ agenda. Many also support abortion and other anti-biblical actions. Are these ‘American values’? Should the English language be changed to eliminate male/female and singular pronouns? Does the Bible warn about female leaders? Does the Bible warn about leaders that lead people to err? What about condoning sexual immortality? Do the presidential contenders fit prophecies warned about in 2 Timothy 3:1-5? These are some of the subjects that Dr. Thiel addresses.

The end of the 6,000 years God has given humans to rule cut off from Him is about over (see Does God Have a 6,000 Year Plan? What Year Does the 6,000 Years End?). The USA will be gone by the time the 6,000 years ends.
The time is coming when the USA will be eliminated as a nation (watch also our sermon video The Bible, the USA, and the King of the West).
Therefore, since we are close to the end of that 6,000 years, WHOEVER WINS THE 2020 US PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION WILL BE AN ‘EXISTENTIAL THREAT’ TO THE USA.
As far as the climate goes, the Bible shows that what humans will end up doing will not solve the problem. Here is what could be considered as an environmental prophecy:
18 The nations were angry, and Your wrath has come,
And the time of the dead, that they should be judged,
And that You should reward Your servants the prophets and the saints,
And those who fear Your name, small and great,
And should destroy those who destroy the earth (Revelation 11:18).
Thus, God is not pleased when humans abuse the environment.
God will have to intervene.
Now, despite ThinkProgress acting like science is on its side, it is wrong when it states:

That may be considered a fact by those who do not believe in an all powerful God and who choose to not believe His prophecies.
The world will be a better place:
1 The wilderness and the wasteland shall be glad for them, And the desert shall rejoice and blossom as the rose; 2 It shall blossom abundantly and rejoice, Even with joy and singing.The glory of Lebanon shall be given to it, The excellence of Carmel and Sharon. They shall see the glory of the LORD, The excellency of our God. 3 Strengthen the weak hands, And make firm the feeble knees. 4 Say to those who are fearful-hearted,”Be strong, do not fear! Behold, your God will come with vengeance, With the recompense of God;He will come and save you.” 5 Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened,And the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped. 6 Then the lame shall leap like a deer, And the tongue of the dumb sing. For waters shall burst forth in the wilderness, And streams in the desert. 7 The parched ground shall become a pool, And the thirsty land springs of water; In the habitation of jackals, where each lay, There shall be grass with reeds and rushes. 8 A highway shall be there, and a road, And it shall be called the Highway of Holiness. The Prophet Ezekiel wrote about it coming after the world had been shamed by the Gentiles (cf. Revelation 11:2; Luke 21:24):
21 Because you have pushed with side and shoulder, butted all the weak ones with your horns, and scattered them abroad, 22 therefore I will save My flock, and they shall no longer be a prey; and I will judge between sheep and sheep. 23 I will establish one shepherd over them, and he shall feed them — My servant David. He shall feed them and be their shepherd. 24 And I, the Lord, will be their God, and My servant David a prince among them; I, the Lord, have spoken. 25 “I will make a covenant of peace with them, and cause wild beasts to cease from the land; and they will dwell safely in the wilderness and sleep in the woods. 26 I will make them and the places all around My hill a blessing; and I will cause showers to come down in their season; there shall be showers of blessing. 27 Then the trees of the field shall yield their fruit, and the earth shall yield her increase. They shall be safe in their land; and they shall know that I am the Lord, when I have broken the bands of their yoke and delivered them from the hand of those who enslaved them. 28 And they shall no longer be a prey for the nations, nor shall beasts of the land devour them; but they shall dwell safely, and no one shall make them afraid. 29 I will raise up for them a garden of renown, and they shall no longer be consumed with hunger in the land, nor bear the shame of the Gentiles anymore. (Ezekiel 34:21-29)

Where Mentioned in the Bible
God has allowed a six-thousand-year period for mankind to rule himself apart from God if man so chooses. During this time, God has, in a sense, kept hands off the affairs of this world. Man has pursued the course that “seems right” to him. BUT time is now almost up! The new order — THE HAPPY WORLD TOMORROW — will soon be here. A thousand years of peace and prosperity are just around the corner.
In Micah, the fourth chapter, a graphic description is given us concerning the soon-coming Utopia. (Hoeh H. The Coming Utopia – Wonderful World Tomorrow. Tomorrow’s World, May-June 1970)
The Prophet Micah was inspired to write:
1 Now it shall come to pass in the latter days That the mountain of the Lord’s house Shall be established on the top of the mountains, And shall be exalted above the hills; And peoples shall flow to it. 2 Many nations shall come and say, “Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, To the house of the God of Jacob; He will teach us His ways, And we shall walk in His paths.” For out of Zion the law shall go forth, And the word of the Lord from Jerusalem. 3 He shall judge between many peoples, And rebuke strong nations afar off; They shall beat their swords into plowshares, And their spears into pruning hooks; Nation shall not lift up sword against nation, Neither shall they learn war anymore. 4 But everyone shall sit under his vine and under his fig tree, And no one shall make them afraid; For the mouth of the Lord of hosts has spoken. (Micah 4:1-4)
Both humans and animals will do better during this time. The New Testament confirms that the whole creation will benefit during this time:
19 For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God. 20 For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it in hope; 21 because the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God (Romans 8:19-21).
The time of the “glorious liberty of the children of God” that the Apostle Paul is speaking of, happens at the return of Jesus Christ and the establishment of His kingdom.
And this is a time when the people of God will be used to help restore a damaged planet:
12 Those from among you
Shall build the old waste places;
You shall raise up the foundations of many generations;
And you shall be called the Repairer of the Breach,
The Restorer of Streets to Dwell In (Isaiah 58:12)
Thus, the people of God will make it easier for people to dwell in cities (and elsewhere) during this time of restoration. The world will truly be a better place. The millennium is a time when the saints will reign with Christ. The saints help create the millennial Utopia. The saints are true Christians who are qualifying now by obedience to the Law of God through faith in Christ.
However, there will be problems before that.

17:19Because of US President Donald Trump’s position on ‘climate change’ as well as certain executive orders from him, the USA has been declared a rogue nation by various ones in Europe, Africa, Asia, and other parts of the world. How does Webster’s Dictionary define ‘rogue’? Is it possible that considering that the USA is a rogue nation will be part of the justification for it getting taken over in the future? The US is increasingly being considered an international outlier as well as being considered an obstacle to a better world. The nations of the world, and particularly in Europe, will not forgive the USA for its positions on these matters–even if someone replaces Donald Trump.
The statements and policies of the major 2020 presidential candidates are opposed, in many ways, to the Bible and many align with prophecies of destruction.
While national repentance is not expected, personal repentance and protection still is.
But there is good news coming. Jesus will return and establish the millennial portion of the Kingdom of God.
God can truly fix the disaster that humans are causing through sin. Something that many in groups like ThinkProgress do not believe or understand.
