The UK’s David Cameron is pressing hard to try to prevent Jean Claude Junker from becoming the next European Commission President:

Britain’s David Cameron will risk inflaming the row with fellow EU leaders over his desire to block Jean-Claude Juncker from taking the European Commission presidency by forcing an unprecedented vote on the issue this week.

The prime minister will spell out his concerns in a meeting with European Council president Herman Van Rompuy tomorrow, ahead of a meeting with counterparts from across the 28-member union on Friday.

He wants a delay in the process in an effort to find a consensus candidate, but if leaders are not even willing to consider alternatives to Mr Juncker, Mr Cameron will call a vote and require his counterparts from across the EU to set out their positions clearly.

The move would mark a distinct break from the way that the commission president is usually chosen, with the nomination agreed between the leaders.

Britain’s decision to oppose Mr Juncker’s nomination looks set for failure, after nine centre-left leaders, including French president Francois Hollande and Italy’s Matteo Renzi declared their support for Mr Juncker – the candidate nominated for the presidency by the centre-right European People’s Party (EPP).

Mr Juncker, viewed as an arch-federalist and potential road block to reform by Mr Cameron, was put forward by EPP, the largest party in the European Parliament after last month’s elections, under the “Spitzenkandidaten” process. Fine Gael is a member of the EPP.

Speaking on Fridday in Luxembourg, Minister for Finance Michael Noonan said he supported Mr Juncker’s candidacy. “I think there’s a fundamental democratic position that our party, the European People’s Party, put him forward as his candidate on the clear understanding that if we had a majority, he would be the candidate for President Barroso’s position. David Cameron will call for a vote from fellow EU leaders on the next European Commission president if there is an attempt to rubber-stamp Jean-Claude Juncker in the role.

Mr Cameron opposes the ex-Luxembourg PM, whom he sees as preventing EU reforms, and will demand a vote at a summit next week.

But correspondents say it looks likely Mr Juncker will get the job.

Meanwhile, business leaders have warned about EU measures affecting the City.

The row over Mr Juncker hit the headlines a few weeks ago when Mr Cameron reportedly warned the UK could leave the EU if Mr Juncker became president of the European Commission – the body which drafts EU laws.

Germany’s Angela Merkel protested David Cameron’s opposition recently and expressed her discontent on how the UK thinks it should change the selection process.

Basically, the UK tends to be more open about its positions and many in continental Europe prefer a more clouded process. This has tended to show a division between the UK and the rest of the European Union.

It may very well be that because of people such as Jean Claude Junker (also spelled Juncker) that the UK will vote to leave the European Union next year or at a later time.

As far as the UK’s role in the future, the UK will not remain a major power in the final European configuration. The UK will be taken over and essentially devoured by the Beast power. And it may well leave prior to its final formation. Notice also the following:

The English-speaking nations will not prosper for long in connection with this system, however. In fact, they will ultimately be overpowered and destroyed by it militarily. Prior to military attack and occupation, devastating weather problems, combined with internal civil strife (“tumults in the midst” cf. It should be understood that ultimately, Britain will NOT thrive as part of the EU but will be taken over by the final European Beast power–yet its former Prime Minister is promoting something that will not help the peoples of the UK. Bible prophecy clearly shows that Britain will not be one …comprising the final United States of Europe (McNair R. A Strong United Europe. Tomorrow’s World, February 1970, p. 17).

While the disagreement about the next European Commission President is a relatively minor one, it is the latest in a series of positions that the UK has that differ from Germany.

The more influential leaders on the European continent tend to want a stronger European federal government. And that is consistent with various biblical prophecies (cf. Revelation 13, 17, 18; Daniel 7).  Eventually, that will come to pass, although I do not believe that it is likely that Jean Claude Junker will be the final European Beast leader.

An Egyptian court upheld one of the largest capital punishment verdict in the 21st century:

June 21, 2014

CAIRO, EGYPT — An Egyptian court confirmed death sentences for 183 people Saturday, in a case involving rioting last August in the town of Minya, south of Cairo. Convictions against 496 others were thrown out, while four were given life sentences. Lawyers for those condemned to death say that they will appeal.

The ruling by Judge Saeed Youssef drew the ire of many human rights activists, as well as criticism from the four corners of the globe. Despite the 183 death sentences, it was not clear who, if anyone, would actually be put to death.

The case drew international media attention because many of the sentences appeared to be arbitrary. Just one police officer died in the clashes around which the trial revolved. Mohamed Badie, the Supreme Guide of Egypt’s now outlawed Muslim Brotherhood group, had his death sentence confirmed for inciting the crowd to violence.

Attorneys for those condemned say that they plan to appeal, and many death sentences in Egypt historically have ultimately been commuted. In a landmark case involving onetime Muslim Brotherhood leader Hassan Hodeibi, a death sentence was commuted to life in prison. Hodeibi was eventually released.

Relatives of those condemned screamed and wailed Saturday near the courthouse, after learning of the judge’s decision to uphold 183 of the death sentences. Relatives of the close to 500 other men who were acquitted, however, appeared to be relieved.

One man outside the courthouse said that he was not surprised by the verdict, since “the trial was entirely a political matter.” Another appeared to be pleased by the verdict, insisting that “justice was carried out.”  http://www.voanews.com/content/egypt-confirms-death-sentences-for-183-brotherhood-supporters/1942051.html

Eventually, the moves against the Muslim Brotherhood will backfire. Supporters of the Muslim Brotherhood have also declared that to be the case (see also Condemned Muslim Brotherhood leader claims death sentences will result in the toppling of the Egyptian regime).

The Bible itself tells of a time when Egypt will be part of a major confederation of Arab and Turkish peoples:

40 At the time of the end the king of the South shall attack him; and the king of the North shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter the countries, overwhelm them, and pass through. 41 He shall also enter the Glorious Land, and many countries shall be overthrown; but these shall escape from his hand: Edom, Moab, and the prominent people of Ammon. 42 He shall stretch out his hand against the countries, and the land of Egypt shall not escape. (Daniel 11:40-42).

1 The word of the LORD came to me: 2 “Son of man, prophesy and say: ‘This is what the Sovereign LORD says:

“‘Wail and say,
“Alas for that day!”
3 For the day is near,
the day of the LORD is near-
a day of clouds,
a time of doom for the nations.
4 A sword will come against Egypt,
and anguish will come upon Cush.
When the slain fall in Egypt,
her wealth will be carried away
and her foundations torn down.

5 Cush and Put, Lydia and all Arabia, Libya and the people of the covenant land will fall by the sword along with Egypt.

6 “‘This is what the LORD says:

“‘The allies of Egypt will fall
and her proud strength will fail.
From Migdol to Aswan
they will fall by the sword within her,
declares the Sovereign LORD.

7 “‘They will be desolate
among desolate lands,
and their cities will lie
among ruined cities.
8 Then they will know that I am the LORD,
when I set fire to Egypt
and all her helpers are crushed.

9 “‘On that day messengers will go out from me in ships to frighten Cush out of her complacency. Anguish will take hold of them on the day of Egypt’s doom, for it is sure to come (Ezekiel 30:1-9, NIV).

A confederation of nations that are primarily Islamic, such as those with Arabs and Turks, is what the Muslim Brotherhood wants–a unified confederation of North African and Middle Eastern Islamic nations. The goals of the Muslim Brotherhood are close to what the Bible prophesies (close, because Spain is not expected to fall to the Muslims, and the caliphate probably will not extend, in an unbroken fashion, as far east as the Muslim Brotherhood wants).

Sunni Muslims, even various of those that currently support the interim coup government in Egypt, will eventually turn against a government that will do the amount of killing that the judge has called for. Unrest is likely to ultimately be the result, and those killed by the interim government will be considered to be martyrs.

Notice also the following prophecy:

1 The burden against Egypt.

Behold, the Lord rides on a swift cloud, And will come into Egypt; The idols of Egypt will totter at His presence, And the heart of Egypt will melt in its midst.

2 “I will set Egyptians against Egyptians; Everyone will fight against his brother, And everyone against his neighbor, City against city, kingdom against kingdom. 3 The spirit of Egypt will fail in its midst; I will destroy their counsel, And they will consult the idols and the charmers, The mediums and the sorcerers. 4 And the Egyptians I will give Into the hand of a cruel master, And a fierce king will rule over them,”

Says the Lord, the Lord of hosts. (Isaiah 19:1-4)

While the some (or all) of the above is likely to happen after the King of the North invades the King of the South (Daniel 11:40-43), it is also possible that massive unrest will happen prior to the final rise of the King of the South. The King of the South may well rise up after massive unrest and fighting in Egypt (Isaiah 19:1-4). The King of the South would be expected to be a ‘fierce king.’ A massive amount of people killed via capital punishment could be a trigger for the rise of the King of the South.

Though Egypt will have issues, the reality is that a confederation will form in the areas near Egypt with a multi-national leader. Egyptian involvement with the final King of the South is prophesied. Despite attempts to silence, kill, jail, etc. supporters of the Muslim Brotherhood, a king of the south similar to what the Muslim Brotherhood wants will rise up.

Is it wrong to pray for oneself? about how to make “ends meet”? about how to overcome? Just what should one pray about?

MANY do not know what to pray about. We are often asked, “What can I pray about?” Some say, “I ask God to forgive, to guide and direct me. I ask God to bless the work, the ministers, and the Church. What else is there to pray about?”

Acknowledge God

The Bible makes plain that the FIRST STEP in learning what to pray about is to realize WHOM we are praying to.

Did you take time today to get down on your knees and become acquainted, in prayer, with God? Or are you waiting for the right “feeling”? the right mood? Are you, day after day, “putting off” praying until tomorrow because you do not think of anything to pray about? — because you just don’t feel comfortable praying to God?

Notice what Jesus instructed His disciples to pray about when they asked him to teach them to pray. Jesus said — as quoted in archaic English in the King James Version, “When ye pray, say, OUR FATHER which art in heaven, hallowed be thy name” (Luke 11:1-2).

We must first acknowledge the greatness of our HEAVENLY Father. Our faith increases when we realize that what He has promised He can and will perform! He is the God of Heaven — the Ruler of the whole universe.

Abraham strengthened his faith by giving glory to God. “He grew strong in his faith as he gave glory to God, fully convinced that God was able to do what he had promised” (Rom. 4:20-21, R.S.V.).

David was a praying man. David constantly gave glory and praise to God. His last public prayer is given in the Bible and is an excellent example of how to give God Glory and Honor — of what to pray about, “BLESSED are thou, LORD God of Israel our FATHER, for ever and ever. Thine, O LORD is the GREATNESS, and the POWER, and the GLORY, and the VICTORY, and the MAJESTY; for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the KINGDOM, O LORD, and thou art EXALTED as HEAD ABOVE ALL. Both RICHES and HONOR come from thee, and thou RULEST over all … In thy hand it is to make GREAT and to GIVE STRENGTH to all. And now therefore, our God, we THANK THEE, and PRAISE thy glorious name” (I Chron. 29:10-13).

Do you glorify the majesty, the power, and the wisdom of God in prayer?

After you have praised and honored God and hallowed His Holy name then you pray —

“Thy Will Be Done”

Notice carefully that Christ next set us the example to pray: “Thy Kingdom come, THY WILL be done on earth as it is in heaven” (Mat. 6:10).

What IS God’s Will for this earth? We can know! God makes it clear in His Word what His Will is.

In Mat. 24:14 we read: “This gospel of the Kingdom SHALL be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations.” This one verse teaches a great deal about HIS WILL.

HOW is this work of preaching and publishing the Gospel to all the world being done? It is through the “World Tomorrow” broadcast, the PLAIN TRUTH, the GOOD NEWS, the CORRESPONDENCE COURSE, the BOOKLETS, the advertising in READER’S DIGEST, the Letter Answering Department, the evangelistic campaigns, the baptizing tours, the local visiting teams, even through the Ambassador College ENVOY — and especially through EACH and EVERY minister of God.

Are you praying for the success and effectiveness of ALL THESE THINGS? It is GOD’S WILL that you do!

Pray for the “World Tomorrow” broadcast. Pray that each time it goes out over the air new people will be caused to listen to it. Pray that doors to reach each section of the world, not now being reached at this time, will be opened.

Pray that God will train and send out laborers to reap the harvest of interested listeners of the “World Tomorrow” broadcast (Mat. 9:38). Pray that God will send the right students to Ambassador College, men and women who have the ability and talents and the submissiveness that He can use in His Work. Don’t forget to pray that the students who are already in Ambassador College may bear more fruit.

Pray for the co-worker letters, that God will lay it on the hearts of the readers to support this WORK with their prayers, their tithes and their offerings.

And how long do you think it would take you to pray for each and every minister, carefully, diligently? Ask God to give them the power of His Holy Spirit, His knowledge, His wisdom, that He might use them as instruments through whom He nourishes the flock He has chosen. Ask God to use them to preach from the scripture the words that are “profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness” (II Tim. 3:16).

Don’t pray these exact words. Jesus didn’t say: “Pray this.” He said “Pray thus!” Build upon and expand these suggestions. You can think of many other things to pray about when interceding for God’s ministers.

These are but a few examples, a small beginning of things to pray for. You can think of many others.

Praying for each phase of the work is important. In fact, the very existence of the work of God depends upon your prayers.

For example: When we pray that God lay it on the hearts of the people of this country to send tithes and offerings to support the cost of preaching and publishing this Gospel message to the entire world, it is His WILL to honor that prayer. He goes into action. He directly intervenes in the very lives of the people of this country and MAKES them send in more money than they would have otherwise. Thus, through daily prayer you add to the list in heaven of those you are helping to lead down the path that leads to eternal life. Your reward is certain.

PRAYER is YOUR ministry. Lack of prayer will keep you out of the Kingdom of God! God expects you to do your part. That is His will.

“Give Us Our Daily Bread”

Did you know your DAILY BREAD is dual?

Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger” (John 6:35). Come to God through daily prayer and Bible study and He will supply your DAILY spiritual needs. You have more daily need of spiritual food than even of physical food — but God here promises you both, if you will only ask Him.

Why is it that some who know God wants to supply us daily with all our needs immediately begin to ask God for things that satisfy the lust of the flesh. Their prayers are usually very short and filled with I’s, me’s and mine’s. It’s “God give me this” and “God give me that.” “Ye ask,” retorts James, “and receive NOT, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts” (James 4:2).

“Forgive Us”

Jesus also said to ask God to “forgive us our trespasses [or debts], as we forgive our trespassers [or debtors]” (Mat. 6:12).

Have you asked God to forgive your every sin, your every shortcoming, your every weakness, your every stumbling — and those of others? Do we ALSO forgive our debtors — those who offend us?

We MUST forgive everyone who has stepped on our toes, everyone who has offended us, everyone who has wronged us in any way whatsoever. God forgives us only as we forgive others! Remember that forgiving means forgetting. Yet we know that in some local churches there are people who CANNOT BE FORGIVEN by God because they still REFUSE to forgive their brethren. Brethren, this must not continue!

And finally He said, “Lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil.”

God tempts no man. “Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed” (James 1:13-14). Watch and pray that you be not drawn away by lusts and enter into temptation (Mat. 26:41). Watch, keep awake. When wrong thoughts begin to come into your mind, FLEE QUICKLY to God in prayer. Put your trust in Him. Or else God will allow you to stumble in temptation till you learn to put your whole life in God’s hands.

We are not to pray this sample prayer that Jesus gave — word for word. We are to use it as an outline for our daily prayers. Few realize that Jesus also gave innumerable OTHER DETAILS to pray about in His Word. These all MAGNIFY the main principles mentioned in His outline of prayer. They should all be fitted into the pattern Jesus gave the disciples. We are instructed to pray for those in authority (I Tim. 2:1-3), for our enemies, for those who persecute us (Mat. 5:44); for the brethren (Eph. 6:18); that we may escape the things to come (Luke 21:36); for the sick and afflicted (James 5:14-16); for your own requests (Phil. 4:6); for the ministry (II Thess. 3:1); and for the churches (Eph. 1:16; Col. 1:3; Philemon 4; I Thess. 1:2).

Pray for Ourselves?

Of course! But not for ourselves only. If your prayers include others and theirs include you, think how many prayers are said ON YOUR BEHALF! But if you are selfish and pray only for yourself — and everyone else did the same — then ONLY YOU would be praying for yourself.

A student at Ambassador College discovered quite by accident the amazing principle that the Law of Love is a Living Law. He had tried to overcome a certain weakness but had failed again and again. He felt miserable and dejected.

A friend revealed that he too was having trouble overcoming the very same temptation. This student felt so miserable himself that he hastened to go and pray EARNESTLY for his friend. He said, “Oh, God, don’t let my friend be as weak and rotten as I am. Strengthen him, take this temptation from him.”

This student was amazed to discover that after having prayed for his friend, his own overpowering weakness left him! It was suddenly as if this temptation no longer existed.

This student learned that when one has some sin he is unable to overcome, if he will pray for all others who have, or even might have the same weakness, the God of Love rewards him for praying for His OTHER children.

Try it. Pray for all the men and women in the Church who have, or who even might have — the same overpowering temptation you have and see for yourself that God will reward you for showing Love to His OTHER children by strengthening you. He can and will remove your temptation from you.

Remember, if you pray for others, and all the others pray for you and others, think how much more help you have than if you alone prayed for just your problem.

Therefore pray that God will imbue us all with His Holy Spirit (Luke 11:13). Ask God for the gift of repentance so all can overcome sin. Ask God for wisdom (James 1:5), power, understanding, and knowledge.

Pray that God will implant in His people the DESIRE to study and pray until all are filled with the Spirit of God, with understanding and a true sense of values.

When you read the Bible and don’t understand a verse — that is something to pray about. If you are falling short of obeying His instruction — that is something to pray about. For some of you there are almost as many things to pray about as there are verses in the Bible!

Don’t just limit the things you pray about to the points mentioned in this article. Ask God to show you what else HE wants YOU to pray for. HE will show you IN HIS WORD many other things to pray about.

Whatever you do don’t let your prayer become a mere ritual, a vain repetition. Be diligent. Be persistent. Prayer and Bible Study must be first in your life, or you are putting something else before God. We receive what we ask of God “because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in His sight” (I John 3:22).

Prayer has to become heartfelt — full of thanksgiving, praise and joy. It should be a spontaneous and natural talking to God. The more you pray, the more you will understand how to pray.

God KNOWS that many of you faithful brethren are praying. He also KNOWS that others have not prayed as they should.

God’s ministers have said, “YOU ARE CONVERTED TO THE DEGREE THAT YOU PRAY FOR GOD’S WORK!”

If you have been PUTTING OFF prayer until tomorrow DO something now. Force yourself to begin to study and pray. Don’t put off your own salvation!

Iran has accused Barack Obama of not being serious against fighting terrorism, while the terrorist-linked group ISIS belittled his wife Michelle:

DUBAI — President Barack Obama’s plan to send advisers to Iraq to help Baghdad counter Sunni Islamist militants shows the United States is not serious about fighting terrorism, an Iranian official was quoted by official media as saying on Friday.

Obama on Thursday offered up to 300 Americans to help coordinate the fight against Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL). But he held off granting a request for air strikes from the Shi’ite-led government and renewed a call for Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki to do more to overcome sectarian divisions that have fuelled resentment among the Sunni minority.

“Obama’s recent remarks showed that the White House lacks serious will for confronting terrorism in Iraq and the region,” the official IRNA news agency reported Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Amir Abdollahian as saying.

Abdollahian said the U.S. “delay” in fighting terrorism and the ISIL has “fueled suspicions and doubts about the U.S. objectives in Iraq,” IRNA reported.

Another official, Hamid Aboutalebi, who works in the office of President Hassan Rouhani, also criticized Obama’s remarks.

The Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), an Al-Qaeda-inspired Sunni militant group, is mocking Michelle Obama and so-called hashtag diplomacy on social media. The jihadists’ Tweets are also bragging about the capture of Iraqi military vehicles.

On June 10, less than a thousand of ISIS militants in soft-shelled pickup trucks occupied the northern Iraqi city of Mosul with a population of 1.8 million people. Do dreams and prophets have any place in the Christian Church today? Are any related to the Continuing Church of God (CCOG, which did not officially form as a declared entity until December 28, 2012)?

The Bible records that God often has used dreams to give messages (Genesis 20:3-7, 28:10-17, 31:10-13, 31:24, 37:5-10, 40:5-18, 41:1-32; Numbers 12:6; Judges 7:13-15; 1 Kings 3:5-15; Daniel 2:3-45, 4:4-27, 7:1-28; Matthew 1:20-25, 2:12, 2:13, 2:19, 2:22; Acts 16:9).

Previously, I reported about two people who had dreams related to CCOG here (see also Dreams, the Bible, and the Continuing Church of God).  But there was a third that I had not reported at this news page as it occurred later.

I had this dream. In it was a vision of a congregation of the Continuing Church of God inside a transparent glass bubble (like a balloon). And everyone, I mean everyone apart from the speaker, was black. The speaker was white.And I was asking myself inside that bubble…”why is everyone black here?”

It made no sense to me.  I wondered why I would see this.

The Witness Exists

Although some have chosen not to believe all the facts about how and why the Continuing Church of God began, recall that the Bible teaches:

16 ‘by the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.’ (Matthew 18:16)

19 Do not receive an accusation against an elder except from two or three witnesses. (1 Timothy 5:19)

Of course, since Gaylyn Bonjour always freely stated that he did the ‘double-portion’ anointing on me which I reported, there long had been two witnesses to that (see also How To Determine If Someone is a True Prophet of God).

Yet, in addition to various facts, the three dreams (including prior ones from myself and from Fesilafai Leaana) look like God was planning on making it more plain for true Philadelphians (who are in various organizations/fellowships) to see that the mantle location had truly changed. The Philadelphian mantle is with the Continuing Church of God.

The two confirmations of my anointing, plus the three confirmations on the Continuing Church of God coming from dreams were fulfilled have happened. Plus, we teach the truths from the Bible and biblical prophecy. The witness is there for those who are willing to see it. Those who do not know what to do should pray about it.

Of course, some will discount dreams and their confirmation as proper proof of anything they do not wish to believe.

The legislative body of the Presbyterian Church in the USA has come out endorsing homosexual marriage:

The top legislative body of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) voted by large margins Thursday to recognize same-sex marriage as Christian in the church constitution, adding language that marriage can be the union of “two people” instead of only “a man and a woman.”The amendment approved by the Presbyterian General Assembly requires approval from a majority of the 172 regional presbyteries, which will vote on the change over the next year. But in a separate policy change that takes effect immediately, delegates voted to allow ministers to preside at gay weddings in states where the unions are legal and local congregational leaders approve. Nineteen states and the District of Columbia recognize same-sex marriage.

The votes, during a national meeting in Detroit, were a sweeping victory for Presbyterian gay-rights advocates. The Christian Bible, of course, does not sanction homosexual marriage.  Jesus defined marriage as between a man and a woman:

4 And He answered and said to them, “Have you not read that He who made them at the beginning ‘made them male and female,’ 5 and said, ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’? 6 So then, they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate.” (Matthew 19:4-6)

A church that claims to be Christian should not endorse something that is opposed to the Bible.  But the Presbyterians do not seem to care too much about how Jesus defined marriage.

Of course, the societal trend towards acceptance of the homosexual agenda has continued.

The government in the USA keeps taking steps to encourage that:

WASHINGTON — The federal government on Friday will extend a wide range of marriage benefits to same-sex couples, making good on a promise by President Obama after the Supreme Court struck down the Defense of Marriage Act last year.

After decades of blocking gay married couples from receiving the same benefits as their heterosexual counterparts, most federal agencies will now treat married couples alike, regardless of gender. The changes in regulations across the federal government will be announced Friday.

The action is important, officials said, because of differences in how states treat same-sex marriage. Without the regulatory changes, gay couples could be blocked from receiving federal benefits in states that do not recognize their marriages. Same-sex marriage is legal in 19 states and the District of Columbia.

Some who were public opponents have seen the trend and are starting to back off.  Notice the following:

WASHINGTON – Texas Gov. Rick Perry, sounding increasingly like a 2016 presidential prospect, said Thursday that he’s given up on cowboy boots and regrets stepping into a divisive debate about homosexuality, warning Republicans not to be “deflected” by polarizing social issues.

The comments came a week after Perry came under criticism around the nation for remarks he made in San Francisco suggesting that homosexuals could be treated through therapy, much like alcoholics.

“I readily admit,” Perry said, “I stepped right in it.”

Politicians of both major USA political parties are more and more letting the homosexual lobby have its way.

This is not good for the USA.

7 as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities around them in a similar manner to these, having given themselves over to sexual immorality and gone after strange flesh, are set forth as an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire. (Jude 7)

6…the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes, condemned them to destruction, making them an example to those who afterward would live ungodly (2 Peter 2:6)

So the Bible shows that Sodom was destroyed for many things including its pride and the committing of abominations. Homosexuality is an abomination. Sodom and Gomorrah were turned into ashes making them an example–but many leaders in the UK, USA, Scotland, Canada, New Zealand, and elsewhere do not wish to consider the ramifications of what they are doing. Much of the ‘extreme weather’ that has been going on lately appears related to the increasing acceptance of the homosexual agenda (cf. Amos 4:7-12).

The Bible specifically warns against accepting and condoning practices such as homosexuality and lesbianism:

18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness…

24 Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, 25 who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.

26 For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. 27 Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due.

28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting; 29 being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers, 30 backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31 undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful; 32 who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them. (Romans 1:18,24-32)

The promotion of sexual immorality, including the ‘gay’ agenda, will end in destruction. Religious and political leaders should stand up for biblical morality.

No one should be ignoring the warnings of the Bible. No one should be pushing the homosexual agenda. Yet, many in the West, including leaders of the Presbyterian Church, foolishly are–and this will be to their peril.

Sometimes, when I am watching what is supposed to be family-oriented television programs or movies, I find that they they contain pornography. While most males on the programs tend to reasonably clothed, the same canot be said of a lot of the females on the programs.

US Warns of More ‘Costs’ if Russia Fails to Help Stem Ukraine Crisis

U.S. Vice President Joe Biden said the United States will work with its partners to impose “further costs on Russia” if it does not use its influence to help halt separatist violence in eastern Ukraine.

The White House said Biden spoke by telephone Wednesday with Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, and that the two promised to “stay in touch” ahead of a meeting of European Union leaders next week.

The U.S. and EU imposed sanctions against a group of Russian individuals and companies after Russia annexed Ukraine’s Crimean Peninsula in March.

Pro-Russian separatists have for months mounted a rebellion in eastern Ukraine, which the United Nations said Wednesday has involved killings, torture and abductions to instill a “climate of fear.”

Gianni Magazzeni, a U.N. human rights office official, said the situation has created challenges for those caught up in the fighting.

“This has to so with access to public services whether it’s schools, medical services, whether it’s food, whether it’s electricity, water. But it’s also a question of a total breakdown in law and order, the inability to get protection when it comes to ill treatment, detention, abductions and possible also torture and executions that are, and we are reporting, are taking place in this pocket areas in the East in the course of the past month,” said Magazzeni.

U.N. human rights chief Navi Pillay urged armed separatists to stop actions she says are leading to misery and destruction in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions.  She said “the time has come to put down the guns and talk.”

President Poroshenko has proposed instituting a unilateral cease-fire as part of a peace plan to address the conflict.

Vice President Joe Biden called on Russia to pull back its forces from Ukraine’s borders and “stop supporting men hiding behind masks” on Tuesday.

Biden also said that Ukraine was in a “struggle for its very future” as the U.S offered a $58-million package to the embattled country.

“We call on Russia to stop supporting men hiding behind masks in unmarked uniforms sewing unrest in eastern Ukraine,” said Biden, who spoke at a joint press conference with Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk in Kiev after the pair met met behind closed doors.

The USA keeps up with its rhetoric and not employing its military. The USA threatened significant costs if Russia ended up with Crimea, Russia ended up with it, and the ‘costs’ were mostly personal difficulties and insults.

Russia is holding to its position, holding on to Crimea, and is trying to decide the best way to get Eastern Ukraine under its influence.

USA threats may have slowed Russia down, but do not seem to have changed what Russia wants to accomplish in Ukraine.

LONDON — NATO Secretary-General Anders Fogh Rasmussen said on Thursday that at least a few thousand more Russian troops were now at Ukraine’s eastern border, a build-up he called a regrettable step backwards.

“We now see a new Russian military build-up around the Ukrainian border. At least a few thousand more Russian troops are now deployed,” Rasmussen said in London.

“I consider this a very regrettable step backwards. The USA and EU are not intending to support the Kiev government militarily and hence Ukraine remains in a difficult spot. Ukraine also has serious economic problems that estranging itself from Russia may exacerbate.

The cease-fire from Kiev was likely down to reduce the probability of immediate Russian military intervention, but that too, does not seemed to have changed Russian intentions.

Vladimir Putin wants as much of Ukraine in his Eurasian Union as possible.  He will take economic, political, and military risks to do so–but even he has limits.

That being said, ultimately a massive Eurasian confederation will form with Russia holding some type of leadership position in which it hits the final European ‘daughter of Babylon’ hard (Jeremiah 50:41-43).  Until then, there will be changes that ultimately will allow this to come to pass.
