Search for Berlin attack suspect intensifies as anger in Germany grows

German officials have come under fire after it emerged Anis Amri, a suspect in the Berlin Christmas market attack, was known to police. His fingerprints were reportedly found in the truck that killed 12 people on Monday. …

The “Berliner Zeitung” newspaper also reported that traces of Amri’s fingerprints were uncovered on the truck’s steering wheel. If the reports are proven true, it would be the clearest evidence linking lead suspect Anis Amri to Monday’s attack. Amri had also previously offered to act as a suicide bomber on known Islamist chat sites …

Officials under fireThe international manhunt for the prime suspect in Berlin’s deadly truck attack raised questions and public ire on Thursday, with many wondering how Anis Amri was able to avoid arrest and deportation despite being on the radar of German security agencies.

“The authorities had him in their crosshairs and he still managed to vanish,” German news magazine “Der Spiegel” said on its website. …

Merkel policy criticized

The apparent security failings triggered renewed criticism of German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s liberal refugee policy, which saw nearly 1 million people arrive in 2015.

The record arrivals of people fleeing war and poverty in the Middle East and Africa stoked the popularity of the anti-migrant, nationalist Alternative for Germany (AfD) party which has accused Merkel of putting the country at risk.

On Thursday, Bavaria’s State Premier Horst Seehofer defended a statement he made hours after the Berlin attack in which he called for a review of Germany’s migration policies.

Germany will NOT keep tolerating Islam. Change will come. Even political allies of Chancellor Merkel are partially blaming her.

Political Revolution Is Brewing in Europe

Yesterday, the Islamic State claimed the Berlin terror attack of Monday evening, in which twelve people were killed with a truck at a Christmas market.

The killer managed to escape. However, in the truck the police found identity papers belonging to Anis A., a Tunisian who came to Germany as an asylum seeker in 2015.

When last year German Chancellor Angela Merkel opened Germany’s borders to almost one million refugees and asylum seekers, she invited the Trojan horse of Islam into her country. Among the so-called refugees were many young men of Islamic background, filled with hatred for the West and its civilization. One of them was Anis A.

It took almost a year for the German authorities to reject his asylum request, but meanwhile the man had disappeared. The police are now looking for him as a prime suspect of Monday’s attack in Berlin.

We will have to de-islamize our societies. Indeed, every single measure we take to achieve this goal, from ending all immigration from Islamic countries, to preventive detention of radical Muslims, to the promotion of voluntary remigration, to the denaturalization and expelling of criminals with dual nationality, will be a step towards a safer society for ourselves and our children. But it all begins with politicians with the courage to face and speak the truth.

BERLIN—German Chancellor Angela Merkel joined her country’s increasingly acrimonious debate about immigration over the weekend, declaring that multiculturalism in Germany had been a “total failure.”…

Ms. Merkel’s party has railed against multiculturalism for years, arguing for the primacy of German Leitkultur, a term that evokes the country’s Judeo-Christian traditions, as well as the principles of the age of the enlightenment.

Yet the timing of Ms. Merkel’s comments, which come in the midst of a public debate over what Germany can do to better integrate immigrants, many of whom are Muslim, has drawn attention. Polls indicate that a growing number of Germans believe that too many of the country’s foreigners live in what are often referred to as “parallel communities” with little or no connection with German culture…

Though immigration has been a hot political topic in Germany for years, the latest debate began in August after the publication of a book by Bundesbank official Thilo Sarrazin in which he warned against the growing Islamization of Germany…

Last week, Horst Seehofer, the leader of the Christian Democrats Bavarian sister party, said Germany should consider cutting off immigration from Turkey and Arab countries altogether, an idea Ms. Merkel has opposed.

The balancing act Ms. Merkel is trying to pull off by trying to appeal to both conservative and mainstream voters was apparent in her weekend speech. NEUBRANDENBURG, Germany (Reuters) – German Chancellor Angela Merkel on Saturday tried to placate the increasingly vocal critics of her open-door policy for refugees, insisting that asylum seekers from Syria and Iraq would go home once the conflicts there had ended. …

Despite letting in so many Syrians last year (reportedly at least a million), Angela Merkel sees issues, but obviously had seen some before.

The German plan is to send many of the Muslims back. Germany will be a leader in pushing out Islam. Muslims will not like this, yet the reality is that more and more in Germany want to do something NOW about the Islamic situation.

Germany itself, along with the rest of Europe, will change. The Bible shows that Europe will reorganize and a strong leader will emerge:

12 “The ten horns which you saw are ten kings who have received no kingdom as yet, but they receive authority for one hour as kings with the beast. 13 These are of one mind, and they will give their power and authority to the beast. (Revelation 17:12-13, NKJV)

The final European Beast leader, who is also known as the final King of the North, will ultimately promote his religion (Daniel 11:36-38; which will not be Islam, he will at first feign and claim a form of Roman Catholicism), destroy the USA and its Anglo-Saxon allies (Daniel 11:39; see also USA in Prophecy: The Strongest Fortresses), and then takeover the predominantly Islamic nations in the Middle East and North Africa (Daniel 11:40-430).

Islamic issues will be a factor in the rise of this Beast leader.

It should be noted that this Beast leader is NOT Russian (see also Is Russia the King of the North?). Despite claims from Protestant Joel Richardson, this Beast leader is NOT Islamic (see also Is There an Islamic Antichrist?).

Catholic writings tell of a time when a ruler will push Islam out of Europe:

St. Francis de Paul (1470):…From your lordship shall be born the great leader of the holy militia…the Great Monarch…He shall be a great captain and prince of holy men, who shall be called ‘the holy Cross-bearers of Jesus Christ,’ with whom he will destroy the Mahometan sect and the rest of the infidels…He shall be the great founder of a new religious order different from all the others…This shall be the last religious order in the Church and shall do more good for our holy religion than all other religious institutes. By force of arms he shall take possession of a great kingdom. He shall destroy the sect of Mahomet…There will be one fold, one shepherd. He shall reign until the end of time. On the whole earth there will be twelve kings, one emperor and one pope. (Culleton, p. 157-161).

Venerable Bartholomew Holzhauser (died 1658):…”When everything has been ruined by war; when Catholics are hard pressed by traitorous co-religionists and heretics; when the Church and her servants are denied their rights, the monarchies have been abolished and their rulers murdered…There will rise a valiant monarch anointed … “He will root out false doctrines and destroy the rule of the Moslemism. Old English Prophecy: In Germany begins a dance, Which passes through Italy, Spain, and France, But England shall pay the piper. (Dupont, Catholic Prophecy, pp. 21-22)

Birch Tree Prophecy (Old German) “When the world becomes Godless: revolutions will break out against kings; fathers will be against sons and sons against fathers; dogma will be perverted; men will try to overthrow the Catholic Church…A terrible war will find the north fighting against the south. The south will be led by a Prince wearing a white coat with a cross on the front…” (Culleton, R. Gerald. The Prophets and Our Times. Nihil Obstat: L. Arvin. Imprimatur: Philip G. Jean Paul Richter (d. 1809): Through a terrible purgatory Europe will return to the faith (Culleton, p. 182).

Brother Louis Rocco (19th century): All over Europe there will rage terrible civil wars…The German sections of Austria will join Germany, so will also the commercial cities of Belgium and Switzerland. A Catholic descendant of a German imperial house will rule a united Germany with peace, prosperity and great power, for God will be with this sovereign (the Great Monarch?)…A Great Monarch will arise after a period of terrible wars and persecutions in Europe. He will be a Catholic; he will not be a German (Culleton, p. 195).

Blessed Joannes Amadeus de Sylva (died 1482): Germany and Spain will unite under a great prince…After much slaughtering, the other nations will be forced to come into this union. There is no hope for the unbelievers until all of Germany is converted; then all will happen quickly…the time will be prolonged until all countries unite under the Great Ruler. After this union, mass conversions will take place… (Connor, Prophecy for Today, p. 34).

Catholic Priest and saint John Bosco (19th century): War will come from the south, peace from the north. … But behold, a great warrior from the north appears, a banner in his right hand, his arm bearing this inscription: ‘Irresistible is the hand of the Lord.’ At that moment the Venerable Old Man of Rome went forward to meet him, wielding a flaming torch. The banner then grew larger and its blackness became white as snow; in its center stood out the name of the Almighty in golden letter. The warrior and his followers bowed profoundly to the Venerable Old Man and joined hands with him. (THE THREE PROPHECIES OF ST. Pseudo-Methodius (7th century): This new Muslim invasion will be a punishment without limit and mercy…In France, people of Christians will fight and kill them…At that same time the Muslims will be killed and they will know the tribulation…The Lord will give them to the powers of the Christians whose empire will be elevated above all empires…The Roman King (Great Monarch) will show a great indignation against those who will have denied Christ in Egypt or in Arabia (Araujo, Fabio R. Selected Prophecies and Prophets. BookSurge LLC, Charlestown (SC), 2007, p. 103).

The ‘Great Monarch’ that is spoken of above is quite similar to the final King of the North that the Bible warns against. Both Catholic and biblical prophecy teach that this leader will be a European, probably at least partially of German heritage and he will fight those of the Arab/Muslim lands. As the 21st century proceeds, do not be surprised that Islam will be pushed out of Europe to a major degree (Daniel 11:36-38; Revelation 13:4,8,11-17).

Notice both a Catholic and a biblical prophecy:

Rudolph Gekner (died 1675). “A great prince of the North with a most powerful army will traverse all Europe, uproot all republics, and exterminate all rebels. His sword moved by Divine power will most valiantly defend the Church of Jesus Christ. He will combat on behalf of the true orthodox faith, and shall subdue to his dominion the Mahometan Empire.” (Cited in Connor, Edward. Prophecy for Today. Imprimatur + A.J. Willinger, Bishop of Monterey-Fresno; Reprint: Tan Books and Publishers, Rockford (IL), 1984, p.36).

40 “At the time of the end the king of the South shall attack him; and the king of the North shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter the countries, overwhelm them, and pass through. 41 He shall also enter the Glorious Land, and many countries shall be overthrown; but these shall escape from his hand: Edom, Moab, and the prominent people of Ammon. 42 He shall stretch out his hand against the countries, and the land of Egypt shall not escape. 43 He shall have power over the treasures of gold and silver, and over all the precious things of Egypt; also the Libyans and Ethiopians shall follow at his heels. (Daniel 11:40-43)

Notice that the ‘great prince of the North’ is expected to subdue an Islamic Empire. Notice that the Bible teaches that the ‘king of the North‘ will go into the Middle East and North Africa and eliminate the leader called the ‘king of the South.’ The lands of the ‘king of the South’ are currently Islamic. Perhaps it should be mentioned that Syria is expected to support the confederation of the king of the South (see also Ezekiel 30:2-8), though the time will come that its capital will be destroyed (Isaiah 17:1).

The destruction of a coming Islamic confederation (see The Prophesied ‘Islamic’ Confederation ) will be part of the result of what is happening in the Middle East and in the West.

Although we need to rely on the Bible, and not ‘private Catholic prophecies,’ notice the way some of them mirror the Bible. This should give us pause to consider that some who claim Catholicism will point to them as part of their justification for actions they may take in the future.

War is Coming Between Europeans and Arabs.

It should also be understood that while the Bible indicates that Europeans will defeat the Muslim peoples in the Middle East and North Africa per Daniel 11:40-43 and Ezekiel 30:2-8, the Bible also shows that the Islamic nations there will make deals with the Europeans (Daniel 11:27; Psalm 83)–these deals will NOT turn out well for the USA in the long run (cf. Daniel 11:39).

As I have been saying for a long time, it may well be that migrant issues will be one of the triggers to get Europe to ultimately reorganize as the Bible teaches it will in Revelation 17:12-13, Daniel 11:21-38, Daniel 2:41-43, and other passages.

For years I have written that Islamic migrants in Europe will become an issue that Europe will decide it has to address.

Why?

Because the Bible tells of a confederation involving nations in the Middle East and North Africa in the end times in Daniel 11:40-43 and Ezekiel 30:2-8 that is defeated by the Europeans. Civil unrest and likely civil war will happen, but a temporal peace will also come (Daniel 9:27), before the final war between Europeans and Arabs.

The actual biblical war prophesied in the Bible between Europe and the Arabs, will not come until more than 3 1/2 years after a ‘peace deal’ has been confirmed by a ‘prince’ (Daniel 9:26-27) who later will become the final King of the North (Daniel 11:31-44). This leader will be European, and eventually destroy the nation with the strongest fortresses (Daniel 11:39), which in the 21st century would be the USA. He will proclaim peace and safety:

25 And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many: he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand. (Daniel 8:25, KJV).

This leader will encourage proclamations of peace, yet sudden destruction will come (cf. 1 Thessalonians 5:3). After destroying the USA, etc., he will turn against a power in the Middle East and North Africa (Daniel 11:40-43)–a power consisting of many Arabs.

More in Europe are realizing that Islam is a threat.

The migrant situation in Germany and elsewhere is setting Europe up for civil unrest. Ultimately, war will come between the Europeans and the Arabs.

Internal Documents Reveal Bizarre Facebook Rules for Censorship of ‘Hate Speech’

Facebook has come under fire after German Newspaper SZ-Magazin revealed internal secret rules of deletion that show the platform flagging up the content as hate speech if it doesn’t abide to bizarre mathematical formulas.

The newspaper has acquired internal documents created by the department at Facebook that sets the rules of deletion.

According to the paper “these rules are then often applied by external service providers, such as the Bertelsmann subsidiary Arvato in Berlin. Employees attend internal training workshops where they learn what should be deleted and what shouldn’t.”

The documents show that Facebook actively tries to fight so-called hate speech on their platform, coining “protected categories” that help to define when the speech is hateful.

Attacks based on sex, religion, nationality, gender identity, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation or disability will be flagged as hate speech and deleted.

However, despite Facebook taking an active stance in combating hate speech, it allows some forms of hate speech. …

While no one should go around telling people to physically harm or hate individual, ‘hate speech,’ the way Facebook views it, is actually a tricky thing..

Basically if you give an opinion about something that some in Facebook do not like, that can be considered as hate speech.

The world is getting less tolerant of freedom of speech.

Currently, it is still time to:

1 Cry aloud, spare not;
Lift up your voice like a trumpet;
Tell My people their transgression,
And the house of Jacob their sins. (Isaiah 58:1)

Which is what we in the Continuing Church of God are doing. We have denounced, not only sins that the world sometimes seems to consider politically correct, but also sins that many claimed COGs will not do, because of their own concerns about their political fates and/or fates that could happen if they offended their financial supporters if they told the truth to truly fulfill Isaiah 58:1.

Is telling people that immoral behavior is sinful ‘hate speech’?

Well, sadly some at Facebook seem to think so.

Many in and out of the government have plans and are watching the internet with plans to deal with materials that they some day hope to silence.

The fact that we in the Continuing Church of God would be considered pacifists, does not change the fact that since we hold to biblical views that we will not be improperly classified as spouting ‘hate speech’ by private or government employees who do not accept biblical standards of morality.

The Prophet Amos was inspired to record the following:

11 “Behold, the days are coming,” says the Lord God,
“That I will send a famine on the land,
Not a famine of bread,
Nor a thirst for water,
But of hearing the words of the Lord.
12 They shall wander from sea to sea,
And from north to east;
They shall run to and fro, seeking the word of the Lord,
But shall not find it. (Amos 8:11-12)

Notice that the Bible tells of a time that will come when the word of God will not be found.

That is not talking of a time when there are no Bibles.

It would seem that Amos was writing about a time when much of the truth of God’s religion will be taken off the internet. In the 21st century, the internet is accessed by people in every country, and thus some type of internet restriction/suspension/site removal is coming.

We are getting closer to this time.

That is part of why we in the Continuing Church of God are preparing for the ‘short work’ (Romans 9:28) and the coming ‘famine of the word.’

Distressingly, Facebook is complicit in the Left’s effort to censor speech. Last week, it deployed new tools, empowering users to flag stories they believe to be untrue, which then would be dispatched to third-party “fact-checkers” for scrutiny. Messages that are not ‘politically-correct’ may be deemed ‘fake news’ by Facebook and others. This would seem to include warning the world that a false dictator is rising up and that the world needs the Kingdom of God.

Certain speech that is not ‘politically correct’ will be squelched.

In time, the ‘famine of the word’ will hit.

Jesus’ message of the Gospel of the Kingdom of God will FIRST reach the world as a witness.  And then the end will come:

14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come. (Matthew 24:14)

The proclamation of the Gospel of the Kingdom of God will succeed before the full ‘famine of the word’ will be in place.

China is expected to take a series of defensive and retaliatory measures to counter any U.S. moves to restrict the role of Chinese goods and currency movements in the American economy, as Trump has promised to do.”In the event of a trade war with the United States, China’s response would go well beyond tariff increases,” said Mark Williams, Chief Asia Economist for Capital Economics. “U.S. companies would find their products and operations in China subject to tighter regulation that hampered their capacity to do business there.”

“U.S. exports of cars and aircraft would be in the firing line,” he said. China might also subject U.S. companies to tighter regulation that hampers their capacity to do business. Beijing may also encourage its exporters by offering tax rebates to overcome any reduction in export demand in the U.S., Williams said.

In informal discussions, Chinese officials say there is a lot of uncertainty about how the new U.S. president will handle relations with China, and preparations are being made to deal with varied scenarios. …

Who suffers most in the case of a trade war? China would be the first to be hit, and more severely because the United States is a major market for Chinese goods. America buys three times more than what it sells to China.

But Beijing can take solace in the fact that Trump would end up hurting the American consumer if he imposed a 45 percent duty on Chinese goods, as he has promised to do.The most important items in the Chinese export basket are mobile phones, tablets/laptops and network equipment. A higher tax on these goods would ultimately be paid by U.S. consumers, Williams of Capital Economics said.

The imposition of high tariffs will make things cost more and contribute to inflation and likely shortages.

As far as why the Chinese are concerned, let’s not focus on verbal statements from Donald Trump (as they vary a lot), but instead let’s look at the positions at his website:

The trade deficit that the US has with China is its largest. Three of Donald Trump’s 7 point plan mention China by name, whereas the third item is at least partially directed towards China.

Trade wars have been listed as part of the Twelve ‘grey swan’ events to watch for in 2017?

Trade policies of the USA were a major reason that the Japanese decided to attack Pearl Harbor. That is what then triggered the USA to become officially involved in World War II.

Black Swans of the First Kind:
In the Financial Realm

I’m talking about a big bubble. Not a housing bubble or stock market bubble per se. But another kind of bubble — the money bubble, the big money printing by the U.S. Federal Reserve and, by other major central banks around the world.

Of course they don’t use money printing presses like they used to in the old days. They do it electronically. But it’s still the same process. The Fed and other central banks around the world create money out of thin air. …

Black Swans of the Second Kind:
In the Social Realm …

Today, the concentration of wealth is no longer just about the plight of the poor. Nor is it an issue limited to the nation’s middle class. It is also hindering higher-net-worth investors from growing their portfolios — by taking money away from dividends and from interest income. …

The year 2008 is when inequality in America is close to what history tells us is a potential breaking point, and that’s precisely when the Great Recession begins.

But there’s a big difference between the Great Recession of our era and the Great Depression of the 1930s. Back then, the Great Depression reduced the wealth share of the super-rich. This time, it doesn’t. Instead, thanks primarily to the Fed’s money printing, the concentration of wealth surges to new, all-time highs, never before seen in this country.

The end result is the great social and cultural divide of America today. …

Black Swans of the Third Kind:
Political Division and Dysfunction …

Most people called that Washington gridlock. But that was just up until 2008, when the political division and dysfunction in this country reached the same level as it did in 1929. Now it’s even more extreme, as you can see in this chart:

What comes out of this polarized environment?

You guessed it: Black Swan politicians (like Trump), surging out of the blue, gathering momentum, changing history and shifting America’s destiny.

So there you have it. The three extreme megatrends of our time, the three set-ups for Black Swans in the United States:

Black Swans of the first kind — in the financial realm.

Black Swans of the second kind — in the social realm.

Black Swans of the third kind — in the political realm.

2-3 of the 4 ‘black swans’ that economists at Societe Generale listed have some connection to the election of Donald Trump. And the change in bond yields, which is related to decisions by the US Federal Reserve (see The US Federal Reserve meets and raises interest rates), will affect the Donald Trump presidency.

Donald Trump also wants to increase US debt–even as interest rates are rising. 4% interest on U.S. Treasury bonds will put a lot of pressure on the budget of the USA–and higher rates would add more pressure.

The view is correct that artificial money creation is a major bubble that will one day burst. And when it truly does, it will be much worse than most believe.

The social and political divisions in the USA are setting it up for major social unrest.

Donald Trump will have difficulties.

Why the mention of ‘black swans’?

What do black swans have to do with anything? Notice also the following:

The black swan theory or theory of black swan events . . . was developed by Nassim Nicholas Taleb to explain:

1. The disproportionate role of high-profile, hard-to-predict, and rare events that are beyond the realm of normal expectations in history, science, finance, and technology
2. The non-computability of the probability of the consequential rare events using scientific methods (owing to the very nature of small probabilities)
3. The psychological biases that make people individually and collectively blind to uncertainty and unaware of the massive role of the rare event in historical affairs (Wikipedia, viewed 12/12/13)

While there are various economic catastrophes including war, famine, and pestilences (Matthew 24:4-8), debt will cause a massive catastrophe in the future.

Donald Trump has indicated that he will increase the debt of the USA and may sometime in the future partially default (he called it ‘renegotiating’). Even if there is the appearance of prosperity for a time, do not expect that to end well.

The reality is that a major ‘black swan’ event will be when foreign creditors rise up against the USA. This is biblically-prophesied:

3 For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, It will not tarry…5 Indeed, because he transgresses by wine, He is a proud man… 6 “Will not all these take up a proverb against him, And a taunting riddle against him, and say, ‘Woe to him who increases What is not his–how long? And to him who loads himself with many pledges’? 7 Will not your creditors rise up suddenly? Will they not awaken who oppress you? And you will become their booty. 8 Because you have plundered many nations, All the remnant of the people shall plunder you. Because of men’s blood And the violence of the land and the city, And of all who dwell in it. (Habakkuk 2:3,5,6-8).

13 “Behold, therefore, I beat My fists at the dishonest profit which you have made, and at the bloodshed which has been in your midst. 14 Can your heart endure, or can your hands remain strong, in the days when I shall deal with you? I, the Lord, have spoken, and will do it. 15 I will scatter you among the nations, disperse you throughout the countries, and remove your filthiness completely from you. (Ezekiel 22:13-15)

Borrowing money that will not be paid back is a “dishonest profit” which the American and British peoples have been living on for the past several years (as is the “quantitative easing” programs for the US Federal Reserve; see also the YouTube video The Debt Crisis Will Be Worse Than Most Imagine). The Anglo-power will be scattered for this and their filthiness (see also Will the Anglo-Nations be Divided?). Some will consider these ‘black swan’ events, but they were predicted thousands of years ago.

While the election of Donald Trump is expected to have several economic positives for the USA, the world will react.

The 4th century bishop John Chrysostom is a ‘doctor’ of the the Roman Catholic and Eastern Orthodox churches. Certain Protestants also consider him to be of great importance. The improperly named Protestant publication Christianity Today went so far as to claim he was the “Early church’s greatest preacher.”

In the late fourth century he made various comments about paganism, Christmas, lies, and biblical Holy Days. Since many of them were in the Fall and Winter of the year, this seemed to be an appropriate time to report about some of them.

John Chrysostom wrote the following in the fourth century:

And what, pray you, is that Minerva of theirs, and Apollo, and Juno? They are different kinds of demons among them. (Chrysostom J. The homilies of S. So, on the surface it appears that John Chrysostom condemned pagan gods, yet he ended up endorsing a holiday originally for the sun god Mithra.

How?

It was John Chrysostom who got the Orthodox in Constantinople to observe Christmas on December 25:

We may take it as certain that the feast of Christ’s Nativity was kept in Rome on 25 December…It was introduced by St. John Chrysostum into Constantinople and definitively adopted in 395 (Thurston. H. Transcribed by Rick McCarty. Christian Calendar. The Catholic Encyclopedia, Volume III. Published 1908. New York: Robert Appleton Company. Nihil Obstat, November 1, 1908. John Chrysostom admitted Christmas was not part of his church’s tradition in a sermon:

St. Chrysostom in a Christmas sermon, delivered at Antioch in the year 386, says, ” it is not ten years since this day [Christmas Day on December 25] was clearly known to us, but it has been familiar from the beginning to those who dwell in the West.” “The Romans who have celebrated it for a long time, and from ancient tradition, and have transmitted the knowledge of it to us.” (Addis WE, Arnold T. His claim that Rome or the West knew it from the beginning is blatantly false. The knowledge of December 25th does not come from any ancient actual Christian tradition.

As pretty much everyone who has looked into the history of Christmas knows, December 25th was selected because it was the birthday of the sun-god Mithras–it was not an original practice of true Christians in Rome or any part of the West. John Chrysostom should have known that and taught against it.

Why?

Notice also that the The Catholic Encyclopedia freely admits that Christmas on December 25 was not celebrated by the early church and that it was Mithra whose birthday was observed anciently on Devember 25th:

Anyway, mainstream Christianity will continue to try to overlook the fact that it adopted pagan practices, condemned biblical ones, and still prefers traditions of men over the Bible.

Another Roman Catholic supporter wrote this about the Council of Nicea a few decades later:

Three hundred Fathers or even more gathered together in the land of Bithynia and ordained this by law; yet you disdain their decrees. You must choose one of two courses: either you charge them with ignorance for their want of exact knowledge on this matter, or you charge them with cowardice because they were not ignorant, but played the hypocrite and betrayed the truth. When you do not abide by what they decreed, this is exactly the choice you must make. But all the events of the Council make it clear that they showed great wisdom and courage at that time. The article of faith they set forth at the Council show how wise they were…At that time the whole synodal gathering, welded together from these champions, along with their definition of what Christians must believe, also passed a decree that they celebrate the paschal feast in harmony together. They refused to betray their faith in those most difficult times [of persecution]; would they sink to pretense and deceit on the question of the Easter observance? (5) Look what you do when you condemn Fathers so great, so courageous, so wise (John Chrysostom. Homily III Against the Jews, III:3,4-5. Preached at Antioch, Syria in September, 386 AD).

So it is an article of faith that Roman Catholic bishops had the authority to change the scriptural date of Passover and make it an Easter celebration, even though Constantine said part of why he wanted it to have nothing in common with those he called the detestable Jewish crowd?

But this was simply not the faith of the true second century Christians in Asia Minor as Polycrates testified. The last words of his response to Roman bishop Victor about changing the date of Passover to Easter Sunday was:

I, therefore, brethren, who have lived sixty-five years in the Lord, and have met with the brethren throughout the world, and have gone through every Holy Scripture, am not affrighted by terrifying words. For those greater than I have said ‘ We ought to obey God rather than man.’ (Polycrates. Letter to Victor. As quoted by Eusebius. Church History. Book V, Chapter 24) .

So, those who held to the original faith and traditions from the Bible would not accept the change of Passover, but John Chrysostom did.

Notice also the following:

ALL SAINTS. As early as the fourth century, the Greeks kept on the first Sunday after Pentecost the feast of all martyrs and saints, and we still possess a sermon of St. Chrysostom de-livered on that day. In the West, the feast was introduced by Pope Boniface the Fourth after he had dedicated, as the Church of the Blessed Virgin and the Martyrs, the Pantheon, which had been made over to him by the Emperor Phocas. The feast of the dedication was kept on the thirteenth of May. About 731 Gregory III. consecrated a chapel in St. Peter’s Church in honour of all the saints, from which time All Saints’ Day has been kept in Rome, as now, on the first of November. All Saints’ Day

In the fourth century, neighbouring dioceses began to interchange feasts, to transfer relics, to divide them, and to join in a common feast; as is shown by the invitation of St. Basil of Caesarea (397) to the bishops of the province of Pontus. Frequently groups of martyrs suffered on the same day, which naturally led to a joint commemoration. In the persecution of Diocletian the number of martyrs became so great that a separate day could not be assigned to each. But the Church, feeling that every martyr should be venerated, appointed a common day for all. The first trace of this we find in Antioch on the Sunday after Pentecost. We also find mention of a common day in a sermon of St. Ephrem the Syrian (373), and in the 74th homily of St. John Chrysostom (407). (Mershman, Francis. “All Saints’ Day.” The Catholic Encyclopedia. So, John Chrysostom is credit for observing another holiday that did not come from the Bible (see also All Saints’ Day, the Day of the Dead, and All Souls’ Day).

A few decades after Christmas was adopted by Rome, the Roman Catholic saint John Chrysostom preached the following in 387 A.D.:

The festivals of the pitiful and miserable Jews are soon to march upon us one after the other and in quick succession: the feast of Trumpets, the feast of Tabernacles, the fasts. There are many in our ranks who say they think as we do. Yet some of these are going to watch the festivals and others will join the Jews in keeping their feasts and observing their fasts. I wish to drive this perverse custom from the Church right now…If the Jewish ceremonies are venerable and great, ours are lies…Does God hate their festivals and do you share in them? He did not say this or that festival, but all of them together. (John Chrysostom. Homily I Against the Jews I:5;VI:5;VII:2. Preached at Antioch, Syria in the Fall of 387 AD. The wicked and unclean fast of the Jews is now at our doors. Thought it is a fast, do not wonder that I have called it unclean…But now that the devil summons your wives to the feast of the Trumpets and they turn a ready ear to this call, you do not restrain them. You let them entangle themselves in accusations of ungodliness, you let them be dragged off into licentious ways. (John Chrysostom. Homily II Against the Jews I:1; III:4. Preached at Antioch, Syria on Sunday, September 5, 387 A.D.).

So also the Law fixed the feast of Tabernacles (John Chrysostom. Homily IV Against the Jews IV:3. Catholic Christians of Antioch Turning to Sabbath and The New Moon Day and Other Holy Days. 387 A.D.).

John Chrysostom preached against the Fall holy days, because some who professed Christ were observing them.

Yet, John Chrysostom wrote in favor about another “festival of the Jews”:

When, it says, the day of Pentecost was fully come: that is, when at the Pentecost, while about it, in short. For it was essential that the present events likewise should take place during the feast, that those who had witnessed the crucifixion of Christ, might also behold these…And, it says, there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men. The fact of their dwelling there was a sign of piety: that being of so many nations they should have left country, and home, and relations, and be abiding there…for it was Pentecost. (Chrysostom J. So, he admitted that after the resurrection, the faithful needed to be present at what was then considered to be a “Jewish feast.” If God was opposed to all of them, why would the apostles have kept it? The obvious reason is that they were following Jesus’ example and had no reason to believe that they were somehow done away. Furthermore, notice that the New Testament calls one of the so-called “Jewish” holy days “great.” Notice the following from both a Protestant and a Catholic translation:

On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out (John 7:37, NKJV)

And in the last, the great day of the festivity JESUS stood, and cried (John 7:37, Rheims New Testament).

So who is right?

Those who follow Jesus’ practices or those who condemn them?

Recall that John Chrysostom, in this case, somewhat correctly stated,

“If the Jewish ceremonies are venerable and great, ours are lies.“

So which days should be observed? Which have a “great day” according to the Bible? Which days are lies?

John Chrysostom supported days with pagan ties such as Christmas and Easter. His logic for Christmas on December 25th is clearly wrong and based upon lies and misinformation that he spread. So, it should be obvious that God’s days are not lies, but his (and those of churches who adopted those days that he promoted) were clearly lies.

Sadly, John Chrysostom was not the last one to put forth ‘fake news’ about holidays (watch Fake News, Jesus, and His Birth).

John Chrysostom was not faithful to the scriptures and no one should follow his false traditions above the word of God.

(Newser) – A new study about sugar is good news for companies that make sugar-laden products. The problem is that the study itself was funded by those very same companies. As Time reports, the research newly published in the Annals of Internal Medicine looks specifically at guidelines, including those in the US, advising people to limit added sugars to less than 10% of their daily calories. That’s about the equivalent of a large soda. The researchers concluded that those guidelines are “not trustworthy” and “based on low-quality evidence.” Study author Bradley Johnston also accuses scientists of using sugar as “the scapegoat for the rise in obesity and diabetes” when “it’s one factor among many,” per NPR. The review was funded by the International Life Science Institute, whose board members include reps from McDonald’s, Coca Cola, Pepsi, Nestle, and Hershey.

The latest study is industry-funded

The link between sugar and chronic diseases like obesity and type 2 diabetes is well established, but even though many public health groups recommend limiting sugar intake, they differ widely on the recommended daily limits.

The most recent U.S. dietary guidelines recommend Americans get less than 10% of their daily calories from added sugars—which is roughly the equivalent of a 16-ounce soda. The World Health Organization has issued similar guidelines …

Complicating things is a new study published Monday in the Annals of Internal Medicine, where researchers looked at the evidence used to support daily sugar limits of less than 10% of a person’s total calories. Ultimately, they concluded that those public health recommendations were based on low-quality science. …

Still, some researchers expressed concern about the trustworthiness of the new findings since the research was funded by the North American branch of the International Life Sciences Institute (ISLI), a trade group whose board is made up of scientists as well as representatives for major food and beverage companies. Although there can be debates about nutrition, the reality is that a lot of ‘nutritional advice’ is based on information from those with ties to various aspects of the food processing and agricultural industries.

Various diseases, like diabetes and Alzheimer’s, as well as obesity, can be affected by too many sweets. All of those problems have increased in the USA as American consumption of sugars and artificial sweeteners has rose.

But those with financial interests in selling questionable ‘foods’ do not want people to pay attention to that.

This is not new phenomena.

Decades ago, I recall reading a scientific paper where the author (correctly) stated that there was a lot more money being spent by companies who sold caffeinated products to publish pro-caffeine studies than by those who were not in favor of caffeine.

Furthermore, about 22 years ago, I was a member of the American Dietetic Association (ADA). As a member, I attended its annual convention once in 1994. It was only once, and afterwards I did not renew my membership. I saw that McDonald’s and other fast-food companies had booths at the convention.  Furthermore, I noticed that I could have gotten continuing education credit if I would have attended a lecture/seminar at the conference titled something to the affect of Nutritive vs. Non-Nutritive Sweeteners–that was put on by Monsanto.

While I had my doubts about the ADA before I attended, having seen first hand how I felt that group sold-out made it clear that financial interests were ahead of health and nutrition.

Now, people will here ‘studies’ and other reports that will seem to make something not healthy, seem healthy. Many will grasp for that as an excuse to do what they know that they should not do.

This seems to be warned about in the Bible. Notice the contrast:

14 Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city. 15 But outside are dogs and sorcerers and sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and whoever loves and practices a lie. (Revelation 22:14-15)

Many seemingly wish to love a lie.

Artificial sweeteners are also a lie. They should not be consumed by almost everyone.

Notice something from the German press about artificial sweeteners:

Sugar-free products stop us getting slimmer

Many people believe that synthetic sweeteners will help them lose weight. But it turns out that one common substitute for sugar actually blocks the function of an enzyme that is essential for preventing obesity. …

Subsequently, the researchers took four groups of mice. Two of them received a normal diet, the other two a high-fat diet. One of each of them received water to drink and the other an aspartame solution.

The amount of sweetener solution given to the normal diet group was equivalent to a human drinking three-and-a-half cans of soda a day. For the high-fat group it amounted to the equivalent of two cans.

In the end, there were hardly any noticeable differences between the two groups of mice that were fed a normal diet. But among the groups that received a high-fat diet, the mice that drank the sweetener solution became considerably heavier than those who drank plain water.

However, the blood sugar level was higher than normal in all of the mice that received sweetener solution. This is usually an indicator of glucose intolerance. All of these mice also experienced an increase of a protein called TNF-alpha in their blood. This protein is typically related to inflammations that are common in cases of metabolic syndrome.

Phony foods are not food, but basically a form of deception.

Furthermore, the Bible warns about eating things that are not really food:

2 Why do you spend money for what is not bread,
And your wages for what does not satisfy?
Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good (Isaiah 55:2).

Artificial sweeteners, chemical additives, excess refined sugar, and some other items commonly associated with junk foods would seem to be consistent with that warning.

The refining of sugar used to be a difficult and expensive process.

Until a few centuries ago, almost no one ever ate sugar any more refined than honey.

Although the Bible says that honey is good (Proverbs 24:13) even that should be limited according to the Bible:

6 Have you found honey?
Eat only as much as you need,
Lest you be filled with it and vomit. (Proverbs 25:16)

27 It is not good to eat much honey; (Proverbs 25:27)

Even ‘good’ sweets should be consumed sparingly.

As far as Coca-Cola specifically goes, its sponsoring of sporting events, use of celebrity endorsers , and political influence have sadly allowed people to act like it is a ‘responsible company.’ The tobacco industry also has been involved in such things.

In my view, Coca-Cola, along with many other companies, has been responsible for contributing to the harm of human health around the world.

Jesus taught:

31 And just as you want men to do to you, you also do to them likewise. (Luke 6:31)

Who wants fake ‘scientific news’ that has been affected by greed?

Sadly, many companies have the wrong view of money:

10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. (1 Timothy 6:10)

So, we will continue to see advertisements for a lot of things that are not healthy.

Do not be fooled.  It normally take years, for example, before one’s diet results in diseases like diabetes. Consider this:

11 Because the sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil. (Ecclesiastes 8:11)

23 … be sure your sin will find you out. (Numbers 32:23)

7 Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. (Galatians 6:7)

Do not do evil. Be careful about what you eat.

As a consumer, what should you eat? You should eat real food and be careful about your quantities.

2…Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good (Isaiah 55:2).

People should try to eat real, not artificial, foods.

The American and Anglo-Saxon descended nations are not setting the right example when it comes to diet and obesity and this does not bode well for them in the future (Proverbs 12:24; Daniel 11:39).

PALM BEACH, Fla. (AP) — Jumping ahead of investigators, President-elect Donald Trump is blaming Islamic terrorists for deadly violence in Turkey and Germany and vowing anew to eradicate their regional and global networks. …

Trump called the brazen shooting of Russia’s ambassador to Turkey as he attended a photo exhibit “a violation of all rules of civilized order.” He added that a “radical Islamic terrorist” had assassinated the diplomat, Andrei Karlov.

Turkish authorities identified the gunman as Mevlut Mert Altintas, a member of Ankara’s riot police squad, and said he was later killed in a shootout with police. Altintas shouted in Turkish about the Syrian city of Aleppo and also yelled “Allahu akbar,” Arabic for “God is great.”

In Berlin, where at least 12 people were killed, Trump said the Islamic State group “and other Islamist terrorists continually slaughter Christians in their communities and places of worship as part of their global jihad.”

He added that these terrorists and their regional and worldwide networks “must be eradicated from the face of the Earth” and pledged to carry out that mission with “all freedom-loving partners.” …

He later tweeted: “Today there were terror attacks in Turkey, Switzerland and Germany – and it is only getting worse. The civilized world must change thinking!”

In Zurich, police said three people were wounded when a gunman opened fire in the prayer hall of a mosque frequented by Somali immigrants.

The German chancellor has said the deadly truck attack on a Berlin Christmas market was likely an act of terrorism. Interior Minister de Maiziere confirmed the main suspect is a Pakistani asylum-seeker.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel said she was “horrified, shaken and deeply saddened” on Tuesday about a truck attack that killed at least a dozen people at a Berlin Christmas market.

“I want you to know that all of us, a whole country, is joined with you in mourning and sadness,” Merkel told reporters in the German capital.

A truck slammed into a crowded Christmas market in central Berlin on Monday night, killing at least 12 people and wounding 48, 18 of them seriously, German Interior Minister Thomas de Maiziere said at a press conference. Only a few of the victims have been identified so far, he said.

“There is much we still do not know with sufficient certainty but we must, as things stand now, assume it was a terrorist attack,” Merkel said.

During his press conference De Maiziere said “there is no doubt anymore that the horrible event last night was an attack.”

Suspect denies involvement

The main suspect in the attack is a 23-year-old Pakistani citizen who arrived in Germany on December 31, 2015 and had applied for asylum, the Interior Minister said. The man has denied any involvement in the attack.

So-called Islamic State (IS) has said one of its militants carried out the lorry attack on a Berlin Christmas market, which left 12 people dead.

The ‘Islamic State’ has encouraged this type of truck attack in Christmas markets and could have something to do with the attack in Berlin.

Some blame Angela Merkel’s migrant policies for the attack in Berlin:

Officials of the Office for the Protection of the Constitution, the BfV, had for long warned of potentially hundreds of terrorists disguised as refugees making it to Germany hidden among the real migrants.

Now the nightmare has come true for Germany: a country which has not sent its troops to fight anywhere since the Second World War is now at war with ISIS.

Merkel has so far refused to amend her refugee policy, however, insisting that Germany can take in large numbers of migrants in the years to come. Allies and critics alike say she ignored the warning signs of calamity at her peril.

The Bible shows that the time will come when a European leader will rise up against a power based in the predominantly Islamic regions of the Middle East and Northern Africa:

Catholic writings also show that they expect a time when a European leader will purge Islam from Europe:

Rudolph Gekner (died 1675). “A great prince of the North with a most powerful army will traverse all Europe, uproot all republics, and exterminate all rebels. His sword moved by Divine power will most valiantly defend the Church of Jesus Christ. He will combat on behalf of the true orthodox faith, and shall subdue to his dominion the Mahometan Empire.” (Cited in Connor, Edward. Prophecy for Today. Imprimatur + A.J. The ‘Great Monarch’ also called the ‘great prince of the North’ that is spoken of above is quite similar to the final King of the North that the Bible warns against. Both Catholic and biblical prophecy teach that this leader will be a European, probably at least partially of German heritage and he will fight those of the Arab/African lands. As I have written before, do not be surprised that Islam will be pushed out of Europe to a major degree (Daniel 11:36-38; Revelation 13:4,8,11-17).

Notice that the ‘great prince of the North’ is expected to subdue an Islamic Empire. Notice that the Bible teaches that the ‘king of the North‘ will go into the Middle East and North Africa and eliminate the leader called the ‘king of the South.’

Many in Europe have realized that the Islamic refugees do not want to integrate into European society. Many immigrants want to impose Islamic culture, and that scares a lot of Europeans.

More and more in Europe want to do something about the Islamic situation. Angela Merkel’s statements a while back that Germany plans to send many migrants back after the wars in Syria and Iraq are over (see Germany’s Merkel says that refugees must go back after the war is over), may have temporarily reassured many Germans that something is at least planned to be done. She also commented a couple of weeks ago that Germany will not tolerate Islamic sharia law (see Germany’s Merkel want to ban the burqa and not tolerate any version of sharia).

Despite Angela Merkel’s pledge to send Syrian refugees back, not only do many Europeans want them out now, many of the Muslims will not want to go home to lands that are often more dangerous and whose economies are not as wealthy. Expect conflict, as well as change, in Europe.

The Bible assures us that Europe will one day reorganize (Revelation 17:12-13; see also Must the Ten Kings of Revelation 17:12 Rule over Ten Currently Existing Nations?).

Scientists Blast Antimatter Atoms With A Laser For The First Time

In a technological tour de force, scientists have developed a new way to probe antimatter. For the first time, researchers were able to zap antimatter atoms with a laser, then precisely measure the light let off by these strange anti-atoms. …

“This represents a historic point in the decades-long efforts to create antimatter and compare its properties to those of matter,” says Alan Kostelecky, a theoretical physicist at Indiana University.

Antimatter sounds like something out of science fiction. “The first time I heard about antimatter was on Star Trek, when I was a kid,” says Jeffrey Hangst, a physicist at Aarhus University in Denmark. “I was intrigued by what it was and then kind of shocked to learn that it was a real thing in physics.”

He founded a research group called ALPHA at CERN, Europe’s premier particle physics laboratory near Geneva, that is devoted to studying antimatter. That’s a tricky thing to do because antimatter isn’t like the regular matter you see around you every day. At the subatomic level, antimatter is pretty much the complete opposite — instead of having a negative charge, for example, its electrons have a positive charge. And whenever antimatter comes into contact with regular matter, they both disappear in a flash of light.

“We can keep them for a long time,” Hangst says. “We’ve demonstrated we can keep them for 15 minutes without losing them.”

In the journal Nature, his team reports that they’ve now used the special laser to probe this antimatter. So far, what they see is that their anti-hydrogen atoms respond to the laser in the same way that regular hydrogen does.

Speaking of antimatter and science fiction, in May of 2009, Dan Brown’s movie, Angels & Demons, had antimatter captured from part of CERN ‘s Large Hadron Collider and then used it as an explosive. Critics said the movie was in error as they claimed it was not possible to store antimatter more than a fraction of a second. The critics were wrong.

Not only can CERN store antimatter, they can experiment on it.

As far as antimatter goes, here are some comments from NASA:

Antimatter is real stuff, not just science fiction. Antimatter is firmly in the realm of science with some aspects even entering the technology realm. There is also a lot of speculation about what one might do with antimatter.

What is Antimatter?

Antimatter is matter with its electrical charge reversed. Anti-electrons, called “positrons,” are like an electron but with a positive charge. Antiprotons are like protons with a negative charge. Positron, antiprotons and other antiparticles can be routinely created at particle accelerator labs, such as CERN in Europe, and can even be trapped and stored for days or weeks at a time. And… they made antihydrogen for the first time. It didn’t last long, but they did it.

Notice that NASA acknowledges that CERN with its LHC has produced and stored antimatter, that antimatter collection is expensive, and that antimatter is dangerous. And it is something that Europe has decided to continue to research and produce.

Now if the Large Hadron Collider does have military potential, which I have long indicated that it does, all should understand that it is likely that the Europeans and not the Americans will benefit from it. That will probably also include items related to its claimed find of pentaquarks. As well as possibly quark-gluon plasma, sometimes called strangelets, various particles, dark matter, dark energy, and observations of how certain things act/react (more on these items can be found in the article The Large Hadron Collider has Military Potential).

European technology is moving ahead.

I believe that CERN’s LHC, combined Germany’s FAIR (Facility for Antiproton and Ion Research) project, along with other technology, like its helium fusion stellarator (see Germany’s functional stellarator, Donald Trump, and ‘the unthinkable’), will help the Europeans rise economically and/or produce military weaponry to fulfill certain end time prophecies.

Notice the following:

3 And I saw one of his heads as if it had been mortally wounded, and his deadly wound was healed. And all the world marveled and followed the beast. 4 So they worshiped the dragon who gave authority to the beast; and they worshiped the beast, saying, “Who is like the beast? Who is able to make war with him?” (Revelation 13:3-4)

The last portion of Revelation 13:4 is discussing what seems to be a unique type of warfare. Since this is an end time prophecy, this warfare likely includes certain high-tech weapons (such as electromagnetic pulse, lasers, neutron bombs, unique delivery systems, etc.) that will be effective for a while.

It should also be noted that the Bible shows that the end time European King of the North Beast power will destroy the USA as well as a confederation of lands that are currently Islamic:

39 He will attack the mightiest fortresses with the help of a foreign god and will greatly honor those who acknowledge him. He will make them rulers over many people and will distribute the land at a price. 40“At the time of the end the king of the South will engage him in battle, and the king of the North will storm out against him with chariots and cavalry and a great fleet of ships. He will invade many countries and sweep through them like a flood. 41 He will also invade the Beautiful Land. Many countries will fall, but Edom, Moab and the leaders of Ammon will be delivered from his hand. 42 He will extend his power over many countries; Egypt will not escape. 43 He will gain control of the treasures of gold and silver and all the riches of Egypt, with the Libyans and Cushites in submission. Technology would seem to have to be a factor in the ability of Europe to defeat the land with the mightiest fortresses–which in the 21st century is the USA (see also USA in Prophecy: The Strongest Fortresses).

Ultimately, the Europeans will be overcome by what appears to be a Russian-led, mainly Asian, confederation, cf. Jeremiah 50:41-43 & Daniel 11:44, possibly by exploiting some technological flaw, like creating a software virus, etc., while also amassing troops, etc.

The Large Hadron Collider is helping Europe get to the point it will have the technology it will need to temporarily ‘rule’ the world. Although various ones protested, Donald Trump won enough votes in the Electoral College to become US president next month. Expect to see more protests against Donald Trump.

In her concession speech, the day after the general election, Hillary Clinton stated:

While I do not doubt that Barack and Michelle Obama do not think they deserve gratitude, as the second term of Barack Obama draws to a close, we see a nation with nearly twice as much actual debt. The ‘country’ is in a difficult position and does not seem to intend to actually pay that debt back.

President-elect Donald Trump is inheriting the most financially-indebted nation of all time. He considers himself a debt expert:

Nobody knows debt better than me. I’ve made a fortune by using debt and if things don’t work out, I renegotiate the debt. Well, you go back and you say, ‘hey, guess what? The economy just crashed. I’m going to give you back half. (“Trump recession”? Presumptive GOP nominee fires back at Clinton. CBS, June 22, 2016)

It sounds like Donald Trump believes that debt is good and there is nothing wrong with defaulting or otherwise not intending to pay the total debt back.

The Bible says the wicked have that attitude:

²¹ The wicked borrows and does not repay, But the righteous shows mercy and gives.  (Psalms 37:21)

Donald Trump has also filed for bankruptcy four times—presumably to not pay back debt, while he claims a financial worth around $10 billion.

He may consider that to be ‘good business,’ but his practices and intents sound biblically immoral.

Yet he, the Obama Administration, and the Federal Reserve all seem to love debt. The Bible teaches that debt is one of the curses that happen to the disobedient (Deuteronomy 28:15,44).

This does NOT mean that everything President-elect Donald Trump will do is bad.

But he is NOT the answer to the economic problems that the USA faces. Yes, he and his policies may help for a time (cf. Daniel 4:27).

Look at what the Bible teaches will happen in the Last Days and what Christians are to do about it,

1 But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, 4 traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away! (2 Timothy 3:1-5).

Are not Christians to turn away from those who have characteristics listed above?

Does not Donald Trump have many of those characteristics?

Yet, for those who hail him as the one to save the USA, they need to consider that the ‘lessor of two evils’ is still evil.

But certain Protestants are convinced Donald Trump is the answer.

Notice the following claims from Protestant minister Jeremiah Johnson:

The Holy Spirit spoke to me and said, “Trump shall become My trumpet to the American people, for he possesses qualities that are even hard to find in My people these days. Trump does not fear man nor will he allow deception and lies to go unnoticed. I am going to use him to expose darkness and perversion in America like never before, but you must understand that he is like a bull in a china closet. (Johnson J. Prophesy: Donald Trump Shall Become the Trumpet –Posted on Charisma Magazine 7/28/2015)

Despite what the above claims, Donald Trump, thus far, has not focused much on national sins of the USA, but has had his own issues with lies.

Some Protestants have even claimed that Donald Trump could be the ‘trump of God.’ Here are two:

I am not suggesting that Donald Trump absolutely *IS* the last trump – but since the LAST TRUMP is one of the most clear and final signs in end times prophecy, can we overlook the possibility that a presidential candidate named Trump is being used as a sign by God?  …

As for biblical clues on an end times TRUMP:

First, Paul wrote to the Church at Thessalonica, “But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words” (I Thess. 4:13-18).

Second, Paul wrote to the Church at Corinth, “Behold, I show you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality” (I Cor. 15:51-53). …

All Biblical musicians know that the last trump equals a musical note! So that would mean the last note or sound coming out of the trumpet! So when Mr. Donald J. Trump speaks his last word, that will be the last note. This is a spiritual sign!

Let it be explicitly stated that all end time biblical prophecy will not be wrapped up by 2019 (for some details, check out the article: When Will the Great Tribulation Begin? 2017, 2018, or 2019?) and the Church will NOT be raptured to heaven because of Donald Trump (see Is There A Secret Rapture for the Church? When and Where is the Church Protected?).

Furthermore, I do not believe that Donald Trump’s name is specifically related to scriptures in 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 or 1 Corinthians 11:51-53.

Those are end time prophecies related to the return of Jesus, not a Donald Trump Administration.

Although it is remotely possible that Jesus will return during a Donald Trump presidency, we would need to see the deal of Daniel 9:27 confirmed by no later than the Fall of 2017 for that to be the case (see The ‘Peace Deal’ of Daniel 9:27 )–and that currently does not seem likely.

While I understand why certain Protestants support Donald Trump (as well as why certain other Protestants cannot stand him), those who believe that one who believes so much in debt is the answer for the USA simply overlook scripture.

More civil unrest is coming to the USA (cf. Deuteronomy 32:25).

The electoral vote for Donald Trump will not stop that.

India’s elimination of certain banknotes is also causing problems for those who own gold:

India’s gold demand will be far from certain in the aftermath of the government’s decision to withdraw 500 and 1,000 rupee ($7.37 to $14.75) notes, which represent about 86 percent of all notes by value.

Indians mainly use cash to transact and the withdrawal of the two largest denomination notes has led to shortages of money as people struggle to pay for goods and services.

Gold will be affected as well, given many Indian families use cash to buy gold, especially during the wedding season.

It’s likely that gold demand will be crimped by the demonetization policy, but the key question is for how long.

It’s possible that as cash shortages ease, consumer gold demand will bounce back.

Gold Bullion Is Now Effectively Illegal

Assaults on people’s private property and the integrity of their homes through tax-raids continue.  In a recent notification, government has made it clear that any ownership of jewelry above 500 grams of gold per married woman will be put under the microscopic scrutiny of tax authorities.

Steep taxes and penalties will be imposed on those who cannot prove the source of their gold. In India’s Orwellian new-speak this means that because bullion has not been explicitly mentioned, its ownership will be deemed to be illegal. Courts will do what Modi wants. Huge bribes will have to be paid. …

Conclusion

India will become a police state, likely with the full support of most Indians. Nationalism will be the thread that weaves them together. But it is a fake thread, devoid of any value. Eventually, there will be far too many stresses in the system, whose institutions are already in an advance stage of decay.

India as it exists today is a British creation. With the British now gone for 69 years, it is an entity has less and less reason to exist in its current form. Non-cash payment is already the norm in many countries in the world. This month, India completely withdrew all large denomination bills from circulation. In Greece the government is planning to use tax incentives to encourage people not to pay in cash. And in Scandinavian countries it’s quite usual to pay by card, even at the baker’s or at a kiosk. It’s practical for the customer: The payment is booked as soon as you hold the card up to the reader. No PIN; no signature. And no awkward fiddling around to find the right bills or coins.

In Germany, though, cash is very popular. Seventy-five percent of all payments are made in cash. When the German government announced in May 2016 that it would be phasing out the 500-euro note, it sparked a big debate.  … At a conference of the German Central Bank in June, Hans-Jürgen Papier, a former constitutional judge, said “not insignificant constraints of a number of fundamental rights” were at issue. …

It is a fact that the politics of zero, and even negative, interest rates is currently stabilizing in the EU. Economist Rudolf Hickel, professor of finance at the University of Bremen, believes this will prove to be a long-term development. …

Germans are buying safes

So what does this mean for customers? Normally, if you deposit money in a savings account, it multiplies. That’s because it accrues interest. But if negative interest rates are applied, customers end up with less money in their accounts, not more. Who goes along with something like that? It seems probable that people would be more likely to hoard their money in cash rather than accept such a loss. In 2016, Germans bought more safes than they had for years. …

In May 2016 the German finance minister, Wolfgang Schäuble, assured us that Germany would not be getting rid of cash altogether: It would just introduce an upper limit. However, he had already firmly declared in February that there would be no upper limit for cash payments – only to introduce one just a few months later.

The state secretary of the Brandenburg Finance Ministry, Daniela Trochowski of the Left party, would also like to see a less emotional debate. For her, the argument that the digitization of money would make it easier to fight tax evasion is a convincing one. As she told DW, she is not in favor of complete demonetarization, but she does support an upper limit for transactions. Many politicians have demonstrated that their word is no good.

The world in general, as well as Europe in particular, is moving more towards a cashless society.

The Bible has an end time prophecy related to financial controls of the coming European Beast power:

16 He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, 17 and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

18 Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man: His number is 666. (Revelation 13:16-18)

The above prophecy was written over 1900 years ago, and was not possibly able to be fulfilled until the 21st century. A century where cash is being replaced by electronic currency that can be fully tracked.

Thus, to a major degree, the ‘war on cash’ will be ‘successful.’

What about the ‘war on gold’?

Governments have historically confiscated wealth that included gold. The USA made private ownership of gold bullion illegal for decades and forced Americans to sell gold to the government for less than the international market value.

Something like that may very well happen again in the USA.

Those who make gold their hope will be disappointed as many in India are learning.

Cash, digital money, and/or gold cannot be relied on. The Bible says that they will fail:

9 “And I say to you, make friends for yourselves by unrighteous mammon, that when you fail, they may receive you into an everlasting home. (Luke 16:9)

1 Come now, you rich, weep and howl for your miseries that are coming upon you! 2 Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are moth-eaten. 3 Your gold and silver are corroded, and their corrosion will be a witness against you and will eat your flesh like fire. You have heaped up treasure in the last days. (James 5:1-3)

Money will one day fail.

Gold and silver are also not the answer to the world’s economic problems.

The real solution to the financial crises that will come is repentance and the Gospel of the Kingdom of God.
