The European Union has reportedly passed Japan and China to be the holder of the most USA debt:

US-based media have been reporting that Japan has become the biggest holder of the US treasuries, surpassing China last month. However, this is true only in regard to single countries. If we consider the European Union member states collectively, then they appear to be the biggest holder of the US treasuries. It has been so almost one year long. …

According to the latest data from TIC (Treasury International Capital System), the EU was in possession of $1242 billion of US Treasuries in November 2016, $9 billion more than one month earlier. The EU was the only one from three biggest holders that increased its amount of US treasuries in November, while China and Japan continued to lower their holdings. (EU, not China or Japan, is the biggest US Treasury holder. And this is not a good sign. The Europeans have long been big investors in the USA. Now they seemingly also hold the most US debt.

US President Donald Trump has upset the Europeans.

Enough so that they want to figure out how to lead the Western world, and one day not rely on the USA for defense.

The fact that they hold so much debt brings the following prophecy to mind:

5 “Indeed, because he transgresses by wine,He is a proud man,And he does not stay at home. Because he enlarges his desire as hell, And he is like death, and cannot be satisfied, He gathers to himself all nations And heaps up for himself all peoples. 6 “Will not all these take up a proverb against him, And a taunting riddle against him, and say, ‘Woe to him who increases What is not his — how long? And to him who loads himself with many pledges’? 7 Will not your creditors rise up suddenly? Will they not awaken who oppress you? And you will become their booty. 8 Because you have plundered many nations, All the remnant of the people shall plunder you, Because of men’s blood And the violence of the land and the city, And of all who dwell in it. (Habakkuk 2:5-8)

Actually, with an admitted debt of nearly $20 trillion dollars and plans to increase that much further, the USA has increased pledges more than any nation in the history of the planet. And on a per capita basis, the United Kingdom is one of the most indebted nations on the earth itself.

As far as “violence of the land” as a contributing factor, this would seem to include crime, military missions, and perhaps riots/civil unrest, but might it also include promotion of violent sports?

Perhaps we should look at the verses that come earlier, to provide more context:

2 Then the Lord answered me and said: “Write the vision And make it plain on tablets, That he may run who reads it. 3 For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, It will not tarry. 4 “Behold the proud, His soul is not upright in him; But the just shall live by his faith. (Habakkuk 2:2-4)

Notice that the prophecy that is being discussed is for the appointed time of the end. It is a prophecy for our time–and will affect the proud. What will happen is so bad “That he may run who reads it”:

There are other scriptures that show that Europe will one day take over the USA militarily (cf. Daniel 11:39). And the one in Habakkuk shows that debt will be a factor.

Donald Trump has stated that he will increase debt and that he loves debt (see The US Federal Reserve meets and raises interest rates).

It is not good that the USA owes the world in general, and the Europeans in particular, so much.

Increasing debt is not good.

The world order is going to change. And while the USA may rise for a time, it will not remain on top–its debt guarantees that (cf. Deuteronomy 28:43-44; Habakkuk 2:6-8). The fact that the Europeans do not care for Donald Trump is also not a plus for the USA.

George Orwell’s novel, “1984,” has topped the bestseller list in the US this week after a series of inaccurate statements were made by US President Donald Trump and members of his administration.

Parallels to the book were already being made after Trump made the unfounded allegation that millions of illegal votes were cast against him in the fall election. The connection was boosted when Kellyanne Conway, an adviser to President Trump, spoke of “alternative facts” during a television appearance Sunday, referring to White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer’s defense of Trump’s assertion that the inauguration had been better attended than any before it. …

The book publisher Penguin is printing more copies of George Orwell’s dystopian classic “1984” in response to a sudden surge of demand.

On Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning the book was #1 on Amazon’s computer-generated list of best-selling books. The list reflects hourly book sales.

The 68-year-old novel appeared on the list on Monday, hovered around the #6 spot for much of the day, rose to #2 by Tuesday afternoon and then hit #1.

Lower down on Amazon’s best sellers list are two other classic novels with similar themes: “It Can’t Happen Here,” by Sinclair Lewis, and “Brave New World,” by Aldous Huxley.

It is hard to say for sure how much of the interest is related to Donald Trump’s inauguration and the rise of “alternative facts,” a term coined by Trump senior advisor Kellyanne Conway on Sunday. http://money.cnn.com/2017/01/25/media/george-orwell-1984-best-seller/

The USA no longer has the type of ‘freedom of religion’ or ‘freedom of speech’ its founders envisioned.

And while George Orwell did not write about private companies like Facebook, Twitter, or YouTube, they do not support the agenda or the morality of the Bible and have repeatedly been involved in surveillance and censorship. Europe and China have also been heavily involved in pushing internet monitoring, and sadly have learned some techniques on how to do that from the US government as well as from US companies.

The world is getting less tolerant of speech that does not conform to what governments find ‘acceptable’ or believes is ‘truth.’ Plus, it seems to place precious little value on the truth.

More surveillance and more censorship is expected–and it will get really bad in Babylonian Europe according to Bible prophecy:

15 He was granted power to give breath to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak and cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed. 16 He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, 17 and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

18 Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man: His number is 666. (Revelation 13:15-18)

Consider the following prophecy:

13 Therefore the prudent keep silent at that time, For it is an evil time. (Amos 5:13)

The above indicates that even those that are doing nothing wrong will need to be silent at the coming evil time.

Yet, currently, it is still time to:

1 Cry aloud, spare not;
Lift up your voice like a trumpet;
Tell My people their transgression,
And the house of Jacob their sins. (Isaiah 58:1)

Which is what we in the Continuing Church of God are doing. We have denounced, not only sins that the world sometimes seems to consider politically correct, but also sins that many claimed COGs will not do, because of their own concerns about their political fates (watch CCOG, a corporation sole, not a 501(c)(3)) and/or fates that could happen if they offended their financial supporters if they told the truth to truly fulfill Isaiah 58:1 (e.g. Are Violent Sports Evil?).

Many in and out of the government have plans and are watching the internet with plans to deal with materials that they some day hope to silence. Their views are hauntingly like George Orwell’s book.

Notice also the following from the Bible:

1 Hear my voice, O God, in my meditation;
Preserve my life from fear of the enemy.
2 Hide me from the secret plots of the wicked,
From the rebellion of the workers of iniquity,
3 Who sharpen their tongue like a sword,
And bend their bows to shoot their arrows — bitter words,
4 That they may shoot in secret at the blameless;
Suddenly they shoot at him and do not fear.

5 They encourage themselves in an evil matter;
They talk of laying snares secretly;
They say, “Who will see them?”
6 They devise iniquities:
“We have perfected a shrewd scheme.”
Both the inward thought and the heart of man are deep. (Psalms 64:1-6)

And while you might think that if you have done nothing wrong, you have nothing to fear from surveillance, consider that many in the government of the USA consider that not supporting homosexual marriages, etc. are extremist. I also saw someone once on a documentary that stated that people who believed in the millennium could not be trusted and should be considered as potential terrorists. The fact that we in the Continuing Church of God would be considered pacifists, does not change the fact that since we hold to millennial and other biblical views that we will not be improperly classified by government employees with various agendas.

The Prophet Amos was inspired to record the following:

11 “Behold, the days are coming,” says the Lord God,
“That I will send a famine on the land,
Not a famine of bread,
Nor a thirst for water,
But of hearing the words of the Lord.
12 They shall wander from sea to sea,
And from north to east;
They shall run to and fro, seeking the word of the Lord,
But shall not find it. (Amos 8:11-12)

Notice that the Bible tells of a time that will come when the word of God will not be found. And that would seem to be because truth from it will be taken off the internet. In the 21st century, the internet is accessed by people in every country, and thus some type of internet restriction/suspension/site removal is coming.

We are getting closer to this time. More and more are starting to see that their are plans to censor speech from the internet.

That is part of why we in the Continuing Church of God are preparing for the ‘short work’ (Romans 9:28) and the coming ‘famine of the word.’

True Christians do not have to be deceived like others:

31 Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed.  32 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” (John 8:31-32)

24 For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.  25 See, I have told you beforehand. (Matthew 24:24-25)

God will inspire His most faithful to stand up and teach the truth in the end, despite the coming persecution of the people of God:

32 Those who do wickedly against the covenant he shall corrupt with flattery; but the people who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits. 33 And those of the people who understand shall instruct many; yet for many days they shall fall by sword and flame, by captivity and plundering. 34 Now when they fall, they shall be aided with a little help; but many shall join with them by intrigue. 35 And some of those of understanding shall fall, to refine them, purify them, and make them white, until the time of the end; because it is still for the appointed time (Daniel 11:32-35).

12 But before all these things, they will lay their hands on you and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues and prisons. You will be brought before kings and rulers for My name’s sake.  13 But it will turn out for you as an occasion for testimony.  14 Therefore settle it in your hearts not to meditate beforehand on what you will answer;  15 for I will give you a mouth and wisdom which all your adversaries will not be able to contradict or resist.  16 You will be betrayed even by parents and brothers, relatives and friends; and they will put some of you to death.  17 And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake.  18 But not a hair of your head shall be lost.  19 By your patience possess your souls. (Luke 21:12-19)

It is mainly the remnant of the Philadelphian Christians that are the ones who are strong. They will instruct many and will carry out something important–and that will be part of the final phase of the work. This could also include members doing miracles (Acts 2:17-21). And this seems to have to be led by the Continuing Church of God as we are the ones who are willing to be properly bold, while also actually reaching millions. It should be noted that the words great exploits in the NKJV (Daniel 11:32) do not literally appear in the Hebrew text; but perhaps these faithful Christians have the types of signs that Jesus mentioned in Mark 16:15–18, in addition to the fruits of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23), as well as the prophesied work of martyrdom (cf. Revelation 6:11). Fruits, in terms of numbers of believers, will also apparently become more evident (cf. John 15:5-17).

It is reaching the world as a witness with the good news of the Kingdom of God that will trigger the end:

12 And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.  13 But he who endures to the end shall be saved.  14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come. (Matthew 24:12-14)

Many will claim that this is a ‘conspiracy theory’ and otherwise dispute the message.  But the Philadelphian Christians are being used to fulfill Matthew 24:14.

Notice the following

7 “And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write,

‘These things says He who is holy, He who is true, “He who has the key of David, He who opens and no one shuts, and shuts and no one opens”: 8 “I know your works. See, I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it; for you have a little strength, have kept My word, and have not denied My name. 9 Indeed I will make those of the synagogue of Satan, who say they are Jews and are not, but lie — indeed I will make them come and worship before your feet, and to know that I have loved you. 10 Because you have kept My command to persevere, I also will keep you from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth. 11 Behold, I am coming quickly! Hold fast what you have, that no one may take your crown. 12 He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of My God, and he shall go out no more. I will write on him the name of My God and the name of the city of My God, the New Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from My God. And I will write on him My new name.

13 “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.”‘ (Revelation 3:7-13)

Jesus praised the Philadelphians for doing the work and warned them not to let any man take their crown. Because of actions of men such as Joseph Tkach, Gerald Flurry, David Pack, and/or other apostates, many are letting a man take away their crown as many will no longer support the work, and deceive themselves that it is through and that they do not need to do anything but take care of their lives spiritually–that is scripturally in error. Not producing because of overbearing men is NOT a valid excuse per Jesus:

20 “Then another came, saying, ‘Master, here is your mina, which I have kept put away in a handkerchief. 21 For I feared you, because you are an austere man. You collect what you did not deposit, and reap what you did not sow.’ 22 And he said to him, ‘Out of your own mouth I will judge you, you wicked servant. You knew that I was an austere man, collecting what I did not deposit and reaping what I did not sow. 23 Why then did you not put my money in the bank, that at my coming I might have collected it with interest?’

24 “And he said to those who stood by, ‘Take the mina from him, and give it to him who has ten minas.’ 25 (But they said to him, ‘Master, he has ten minas.’) 26 ‘For I say to you, that to everyone who has will be given; and from him who does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him. (Luke 19:20-26)

Jesus condemned the one who felt it was safer NOT to support the work that was to be done.

Philadelphian Christians want to respond to the doors that Christ opens to proclaim the gospel (2 Corinthians 2:12; 1 Corinthians 16:8-9; Colossians 4:2-4). We will stand up for the truth, despite realizing that the ‘famine of the word’ that the prophet Amos referred to is coming. We must do the work and persevere to the end.

And yes, we know that there will be massive government persecution (cf. Daniel 7:25).

Sadly, the type of society that George Orwell wrote about is taking shape. Many realize it, but do not know what do to about it. But many can be called now (see What Did Christ Mean – Many Are Called, But Few Are Chosen?).

Furthermore, there is good news as the Kingdom of God will come and replace the Orwellian (Revelation 13:16-18) system that we see being put together today.

My wife and I have been to New Zealand three times, and expect to go there again later this year.  Is it the ‘place of safety’?

Notice something that a reader sent me:

Super rich hedge fund managers are buying ‘secret boltholes’ where they can hideout in the event of civil uprising against growing inequality, it has been claimed.

Nervous financiers from across the globe have begun purchasing landing strips, homes and land in areas such as New Zealand so they can flee should people rise up.

With growing inequality and riots such as those in London in 2011 and in Ferguson and other parts of the USA last year, many financial leaders fear they could become targets for public fury.

Robert Johnson, president of the Institute of New Economic Thinking, told people at the World Economic Forum in Davos that many hedge fund managers were already planning their escapes.

He said: “I know hedge fund managers all over the world who are buying airstrips and farms in places like New Zealand because they think they need a getaway.”

Mr Johnson, said the economic situation could soon become intolerable as even in the richest countries inequality was increasing.

He said: “People need to know there are possibilities for their children – that they will have the same opportunity as anyone else.

“There is a wicked feedback loop. Politicians who get more money tend to use it to get more even money.”

His comments were backed up by Stewart Wallis, executive director of the New Economics Foundation, who when asked about the comments told CNBC Africa: “Getaway cars the airstrips in New Zealand and all that sort of thing, so basically a way to get off. If they can get off, onto another planet, some of them would.”

He added: “I think the rich are worried and they should be worried. I mean inequality, why does it matter?

“Most people have heard the Oxfam statistics that now we’ve got 80, the 80 richest people in the world, having more wealth that the bottom three-point-five billion, and very soon we’ll get a situation where that one percent, one percent of the richest people have more wealth than everybody else, the 99.” http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/world-news/panicked-super-rich-buying-boltholes-5044084

The reader who sent me the above, titled his email Panicked Super Rich buying Places of Safety. As regular readers of this page are aware, I do expect civil unrest in the USA, UK, Europe, and elsewhere. The fact that some of the wealthy are realizing this is interesting. Here is another article:

For some reason, the global elite seem to have a particular affinity for New Zealand.  Perhaps it is because of the great natural beauty of the nation combined with the fact that it is in the middle of nowhere. …

New Zealand, which is about the size of the UK, but has a population of just 4.4 million, offers them all the modern luxuries they have come to expect – but miles from any country which may implode into chaos.

The country is 11,658 miles away from the UK, while its closest neighbour is Fiji – 1,612 miles away, more than double the distance between Lands End and John O’Groats.

Homes at the top end of the market come with tennis courts, swimming pools and media rooms – and some even boast their own personal jetties where a family can moor their boat.

But the icing on the cake for those looking to make a quick escape comes in the form of private helipads or, better, your own airstrip.

For most of us, buying a luxury bolthole with a private airstrip in New Zealand is not a possibility.

But the instinct to run, hide and survive is only one approach to a future that may see social order tumble into chaos as a result of extreme inequity.

Some have also claimed that Donald Trump’s election is a signal to move to New Zealand.

A while back, I also saw an article listing the ten safest places to wait out World War III (see 10 safest nations to be in during World War III? Has WWIII begun?), and I did a video about that (watch 10 Safest Nations to be in During WWIII).

Jesus taught that a very rough time was going to come:

21 For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. 22 And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake those days will be shortened. (Matthew 24:21-22)

Is the solution to attempt to hide in a country such as New Zealand?

No.

Notice something else that Jesus taught:

36 Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man. (Luke 21:36)

7 “And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write,

‘These things says He who is holy, He who is true, “He who has the key of David, He who opens and no one shuts, and shuts and no one opens”: 8 “I know your works. See, I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it; for you have a little strength, have kept My word, and have not denied My name. 9 Indeed I will make those of the synagogue of Satan, who say they are Jews and are not, but lie — indeed I will make them come and worship before your feet, and to know that I have loved you. 10 Because you have kept My command to persevere, I also will keep you from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth. 11 Behold, I am coming quickly! “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.”‘ (Revelation 3:7-13)

Jesus tells His followers to watch, pray, and change enough to be accounted worthy to escape these things. He clarifies in Revelation 3 that He is specifically referring to Philadelphian Christians.

Furthermore the Bible is clear that NOT ALL CHRISTIANS are promised this protection:

14 But the woman was given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness to her place, where she is nourished for a time and times and half a time, from the presence of the serpent. 15 So the serpent spewed water out of his mouth like a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away by the flood. 16 But the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed up the flood which the dragon had spewed out of his mouth. 17 And the dragon was enraged with the woman, and he went to make war with the rest of her offspring, who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ. (Revelation 12:14-17)

Two types of Christians are discussed above. A group that flees to a place and the rest that do not do so.

While there is a certain escape involved in this, the protected Christians are not going to their personal ‘bolthouses,’ but are going to a place that God has prepared in the wilderness. And this is NOT a wilderness in New Zealand.

As far as New Zealand goes, many do not realize that the British-peoples in New Zealand are actually descendants of the biblical Joseph’s son Ephraim, the grandson of Jacob (see also Anglo – America in Prophecy & the Lost Tribes of Israel). Because of that, New Zealand will be affected by “the time of Jacob’s trouble” (Jeremiah 30:7).

Since those in New Zealand will be greatly affected by the Great Tribulation, any wealthy who attempt to escape there will find that they trusted too much in their wealth (cf. Matthew 10:24), instead of trusting the Bible. A place of safety will be prepared for the true Philadelphians, but one cannot simply buy admission to it (Revelation 3:7-13; Luke 21:36).

Donald Trump kept a campaign pledge, but there will be various prophetic ramifications.  In addition to the ones reported here yesterday (see Donald Trump signs executive orders: any good, any prophetic?), there are others for Australia and New Zealand that people in those nations may wish to consider.

Decades ago, the old Radio Church of God earlier warned of a threat from Asia in general, and China in particular, to Australia:

While the United States and Great Britain are faced with the prophesied revival of the “beast,” a union of ten powerful nations in Europe, forming the rebuilding of the ancient Roman Empire, Australia may well be taken over by an entirely different enemy! Australia, trying to populate and industrialize to stave off Communism, may become the SLAVES OF COMMUNISTS! And -make no mistake about it-aggression is actually BEING PLANNED against Australia! Well, Britain did enter the old Common Market and as the 1963 article indicated, Australia has become more and more dependent upon Asian markets. Furthermore, as the 1963 article suggested, Australia is becoming vulnerable for captivity from China.

Anyway, I expect problems in Australia and its eventual loss of sovereignty. I also expect New Zealand to lose its sovereignty. Though it is likely that the USA and UK will lose theirs first (Canada too, will lose its sovereignty).

This is something I started to warning about back in 2009.  Perhaps I should mention that I had not seen the warnings from the old Radio Church of God until July 14, 2016–but did find it intriguing that we seem to be on the same page.

So while Australia, New Zealand, and others will look more towards China, I believe that this will have s huge cost.

One day I believe that the Asians, including the Chinese, will decide to takeover the lands of Australia and New Zealand.

The following prophecies from Ezekiel and Isaiah seem to suggest that the Asians will end up with peoples, which would probably include Anglo-Saxon descended ones, like those in Australia and New Zealand (both of which have a lot of pasture land):

13 Javan, Tubal, and Meshech were your traders. They bartered human lives and vessels of bronze for your merchandise. 14 Those from the house of Togarmah traded for your wares with horses, steeds, and mules. (Ezekiel 27:13-14)

9 That You may say to the prisoners, ‘Go forth,’ To those who are in darkness, ‘Show yourselves.’ “They shall feed along the roads, And their pastures shall be on all desolate heights. 10 They shall neither hunger nor thirst, Neither heat nor sun shall strike them; For He who has mercy on them will lead them, Even by the springs of water He will guide them. 11 I will make each of My mountains a road, And My highways shall be elevated. 12 Surely these shall come from afar; Look! Those from the north and the west, And these from the land of Sinim. (Isaiah 49:9-12)

I should also be mentioned that the bartering above also includes sales of people to the Europeans (Rev3elation 18:9-13)–Europe will rise up to be a major trading power, and will, for a time, cooperate more with China.

UK Supreme Court: Parliament Must Approve Exit from EU

The UK Supreme Court ruled on Tuesday that Prime Minister Theresa May must get parliament’s approval before she begins Britain’s formal exit from the European Union.

The UK’s highest judicial body dismissed the government’s argument that May could simply use executive powers known as “royal prerogative” to invoke Article 50 of the EU’s Lisbon Treaty and begin two years of divorce talks.

However, the court rejected arguments that the UK’s devolved assemblies in Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales should give their assent before Article 50 is invoked.

“The referendum is of great political significance, but the Act of Parliament which established it did not say what should happen as a result,” said David Neuberger, President of the Supreme Court which ruled by 8-3 against the government.

“So any change in the law to give effect to the referendum must be made in the only way permitted by the UK constitution, namely by an Act of Parliament.”

May has repeatedly said she would trigger Article 50 before the end of March but she will now have to seek the consent of lawmakers first, potentially meaning her plans could be amended or delayed, although the main opposition Labor Party has said it would not slow her timetable.

Parliament must vote on whether the government can start the Brexit process, the Supreme Court has ruled.

The judgement means Theresa May cannot begin talks with the EU until MPs and peers give their backing – although this is expected to happen in time for the government’s 31 March deadline.

But the court ruled the Scottish Parliament and Welsh and Northern Ireland assemblies did not need a say.

Brexit Secretary David Davis promised a parliamentary bill “within days”…

Outlining plans to bring in a “straightforward” parliamentary bill on Article 50, Mr Davis told MPs he was “determined” Brexit would go ahead as voted for in last June’s EU membership referendum.

He added: “It’s not about whether the UK should leave the European Union. That decision has already been made by people in the United Kingdom.” …

“There can be no turning back,” he said. “The point of no return was passed on 23 June last year.”

Outside the Supreme Court, Attorney General Jeremy Wright said the government was “disappointed” but would “comply” and do “all that is necessary” to implement the court’s judgement.

A Downing Street spokesman said: “The British people voted to leave the EU, and the government will deliver on their verdict – triggering Article 50, as planned, by the end of March. Today’s ruling does nothing to change that.” http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-politics-38720320

Since the Brexit vote, the European Union has publicly pushed the idea of a “European army,” which the UK has historically been opposed to, as well as increased integration, which the UK has historically been opposed to, plus distancing itself from the USA, which is has been the opposite position of the UK.

Add to this, the election of Donald Trump as USA President–and a person who backed the leave side of Brexit and has stated he wants to make a major trade deal with the UK–you then see more reasons why the UK Parliament, which has tended to be opposed to Brexit, voting to support it.  But there still will be debate. Yet, since Northern Ireland, Wales, and Scotland do not have to give approval, this will make Brexit approval earlier.

No matter what happens, the UK has offended the Europeans and the Europeans do not seem to be in a mood to again offer the UK ‘special status,’ but stranger things have happened.

Presuming that the UK Parliament supports the triggering of Article 50 to leave the European Union, this will mean that there will be more backing for the leave side and this may be perceived as strengthening the hand of the UK when it negotiates its exit from the EU.

Last week, Prime Minister Theresa May indicated that the UK would take a harder/stronger position on those negotiations (see ‘UK’s May signals clean break with EU: No partial membership’).

For years I have written that the UK and USA would be likely to develop closer trading ties.  In view of the executive order yesterday to withdraw from the Trans-Pacific Partnership deal (see Donald Trump signs executive orders: any good, any prophetic?), to Donald Trump’s earlier statements regarding the UK and Brexit, this looks like it is getting closer to happening.

Mr Trump – who chose the Menie Estate, Aberdeenshire, to build his championship links course – is known for proudly speaking of scottish roots, often referring to his Lewis-born mother. In 2008, the business tycoon fell foul of ancient heraldic laws when he used the unofficial emblem to promote his controversial highlands golf course.

The billionaire was warned by the Court of the Lord Lyon – Scotland’s heraldic authority – that a law dating back to 1672 would disallow him to use the unregistered logo.

So, Donald Trump has spent a lot of time trying to get some personal connection to the UK.

Since the USA and UK will essentially be defeated together (Daniel 8:24-25; Daniel 11:39; Jeremiah 30:7), it makes sense that they would increase ties between them before that happens.

Presuming the UK Parliament approves Brexit, the UK will look more towards the USA than it did while in the EU.

Many in the Islamic world have concerns about Valentine’s Day. This year, additional condemnation is expected. Notice also the following:

The Mufti’s Office in the Black Sea province of Rize has sent mosques in the city a text condemning Valentine’s Day, which will be read by imams during their Friday sermon. … The text sent by the Mufti’s Office explains that there is no Valentine’s Day in Islam.

“In our religious ideology, there is no Valentine’s Day, because you cannot assign a day for love. The love for which a day is assigned is a lost treasure. The best gift to our dear spouses is our heart, full of love and loyalty. The most beautiful bouquet is a warm heart and a smiling face,” the sermon stated.

In the past, I have also reported about concerns from other Islam-dominated lands such as Malaysia and Pakistan. But, some still observe it in the Islamic-dominated lands–which is why some have taken steps to reduce the influence of this essentially pagan holiday.

Although Valentine’s Day is not an actual Christian holiday (even the Church of Rome no longer officially honors it, see Valentine’s Day: Its Real Origins), many in Islam consider it to be so. And its observance concerns them.

Here is a Muslim report about it:

Celebrating the Valentine Day is not permissible because: Firstly, it is an innovated holiday that has no basis in the Sharee`ah…Christians were aware of the Pagan roots of Valentine’s Day. The way the Christians adopted St. Valentine’s Day should be a lesson for Muslims. In fact, the failure to fully separate Valentine’s Day from its pagan roots explains why Islamic scholars and a number of Muslims avoid adopting traditions of non-Muslims, even though they could possibly be Islamicized…

We should avoid anything associated with pagan immoral practices -…- Islam does not encourage flirting or suggestions of romantic relationships before marriage – Love between families, friends and married people does not need to be celebrated on a day with such un-Islamic origins (Ruling on Celebrating Valentine’s Day. http://www.contactpakistan.com/news/news144.htm, January 31, 2004).

Notice that the Muslims associate Valentine’s Day with Christianity (obviously the false compromising kind; to learn about the true kind, check out Where is the True Christian Church Today?), paganism, and sin.

In other words, Valentine’s Day causes the name of Christ (through the term ‘Christianity’) to be blasphemed among the Gentiles (Romans 2:24; Isaiah 52:5)!

None who profess Christ should observe this February 14th “holiday”–it simply is not a Christian holiday. Its observance has caused the way of truth to be blasphemed.

US President Donald Trump signed several ‘executive orders’ today:

President Donald Trump withdrew the United States from the 12-nation Pacific Rim trade on Monday as he started his first full week in office.

At the White House, Trump called it a “great thing for the American worker — what we just did.”

The new president, as past Republican chief executives have done, also signed an order reinstating a ban on providing government funds to international groups that perform abortions or provide information about the procedure. http://www.voanews.com/a/trump-set-to-withdraw-from-pacific-rim-trade-deal/3687969.html

One of the first actions of Barack Obama as President of the United States was to reverse the ban on international abortion funding that his predecessor had signed. So, Donald Trump did to Barack Obama what Barack Obama did to President Bush.

Anyway, no one should be funding abortions, and President Trump’s action negating President Obama’s order was a step in the right direction.

The trade deal, known as the Trans-Pacific Partnership, had been negotiated since 2009 during former President Barack Obama’s White House tenure, but the U.S. Congress never ratified it, with numerous lawmakers opposed to it or skeptical of the deal. It would have covered trade with Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, Chile, Canada, Mexico and four other countries.

The TPP would have been the biggest regional trade deal in history, covering nearly 40 percent of the world’s economy and about a third of world trade. So, Donald Trump fulfilled a campaign promise.

While one should almost always fulfill promises, fulfilling this campaign promise may have prophetic ramifications.

By stopping TPP (and I am not commenting on whether or not TPP was a ‘good or bad’ deal for the USA), this will get many of the parties to it to look more towards China. It will also help Europe rise up as a trading power–which the Book of Revelation shows will happen and affect the world (cf. Revelation 18). Donald Trump’s positions on NAFTA may well drive Mexico closer to Europe.

As far as China goes, it was not part of the TPP agreement. Thus, this is one action by President Trump that the Chinese really like (he has many positions that they did not).

The Bible tells of a coming confederation of Asian nations. They are referred to as “kings of/from the east” or “kings of the sunrise” (Revelation 16:12).

While this is not yet the time when they must be together, eliminating TPP may motivate some of the Asian and other nations part of TPP to look more towards China.

As far as helping the American worker goes, some of what Donald Trump says he is doing may be of some assistance. But consider also the following from a writer at World News Daily:

Where President Trump is concerned, will he conduct himself as a true servant of the people and behave as the new Christian many have claimed him to be? Has the nation really been saved? …

If we really believe that God has intervened on our behalf to spare the nation immediate calamity, as so many have claimed, we mustn’t interpret that divine intervention as approval of our conduct and certainly not an invitation to return to the spiritual status quo. It was simply an act of unmerited mercy and, therefore, the work for believers has just begun.

To underscore my point, I want to share a story with you. It’s about one of the kings of ancient Judah, Hezekiah. The Bible tells us that he became deathly sick and could not rise from his bed. The prophet Isaiah was sent to him to deliver this news: “Get your affairs in order – you’re going to die.”

The Bible then tells us that Hezekiah turned his face to the wall and began to weep and appeal to heaven for mercy. He recounted all of his noble and righteous acts of the past and pleaded with God to let him live. It is written that, before Isaiah could exit the king’s house, God told the prophet to turn around and deliver another message to Hezekiah: “God heard your prayer and is going to add fifteen years to your life.” The message in this part of the story is that God does hear the prayers of a pure and contrite heart and will act on the behalf of those who acknowledge His sovereignty.

There is another message to be gleaned from Hezekiah’s life, actually, a warning. According to the Bible, once delivered from immediate death, the king’s prayerful appeals to heaven seemed to ebb away. Instead of devoting himself to even nobler acts than before, Hezekiah nurtured pride, a love for wealth and an apathetic view toward future generations. His pride – and I might add, lack of wisdom – is evidenced by the fact that he invited Babylonians into his house to show them his treasure and armor. Later, in the days of his descendants, this would prove to have been a fatal mistake; Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, would come and destroy his house and take all of the possessions and his descendants into captivity. But according to the Bible, that prospect didn’t really seem to bother the king; his attitude was, as long as judgment and destruction didn’t come in his day, so be it.

So what is the warning? He called out to God for mercy and deliverance and God granted him a reprieve. But what did the reprieve granted to Hezekiah produce? What did he do with the grace that had been extended to him? Precious little, it seems to me. In the case of the USA, it will not be ancient Babylon that will takeover, but one associated with ‘Mystery Babylon the Great” (Revelation 17:4) that will (cf. Daniel 11:39; Revelation 13:4). Without national repentance, the USA is doomed (cf. Hosea 7:14-16). But with prayer (2 Timothy 2:1-4), etc. we may see a prolonging of the prosperity of the USA (cf. Daniel 4:27).

Although some consider him to be the ‘trump of God’ or the ‘last trump’, while he is not that, Donald Trump certainly is apocalyptic and is taking steps that will ultimately lead to the apocalypse, biblically called the “great tribulation” (Matthew 24:21). China predicts the rise of its system over Western democracy:

Chinese state media used President Donald Trump’s inauguration to make a case for communism while slamming Western democracy. However, no direct reference to the new commander-in-chief was made.

The series of articles published Sunday in China’s Communist Party’s flagship paper People’s Daily come at a time when President Xi Jinping is gearing up for a reshuffle in leadership posts that occurs once in five years.

“Western style democracy used to be a recognized power in history to drive social development. But now it has reached its limits,” one of the articles reportedly said. “Democracy is already kidnapped by the capitals and has become the weapon for capitalists to chase profits.”

Ironically, realizing a power vacuum is forming in global “governance”, Xi has used recent speeches to international audiences to tout China’s economic and political values and has said that globalization, despite its flaws, should endure via the existing international system of finance and trade. That’s even as state media criticizes democracy and capitalism amid efforts to build support at home for the party. Translation: China remains largely an export-driven economy, and any threats to the global trade model could have dire consequences for social stability in China.

“China’s rising wealth has brought greater global presence, but that’s not enough,” said Zhang Ming, a political science professor at Renmin University in Beijing. “The Communist leaders want that someday China will matter globally for the nature of its political system and create its own universal values.”

While the Bible teaches that the USA, UK, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand will fall (Daniel 8:24-25; 11:39; Jeremiah 30:7), it teaches that it will be a European economic system that will dominate the world for a time, but that it will not last (cf. Revelation 18).

The Bible shows that many lands that were once Communist are prophesied to one day destroy the European power.

The Catholic Priest Kramer wrote that Russia, along with China, will attack Europe:

The Bible also shows that this “Babylonian/European” empire will be destroyed by a northern power.

Notice something about this from the late Herbert W. Armstrong:

The second woe, with its symbols of horses and horsemen…and is also referred to as an event in the Day OF THE Eternal in Joel 2:4. This refers to a tremendous military power–also to the NORTH–due north! They come with an army of two hundred million! Think of it–an army of two hundred million! It should be noted that all of that Eurasian army does not need to be ‘communist’ (though most of the lands that Herbert Armstrong referred to were communist when he wrote that).

So, yes, one day China will matter politically as some are currently saying.

The Bible tells of a time when there will be a confederation of the ‘kings of the east’ that will get together:

12 Then the sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates, and its water was dried up, so that the way of the kings from the east might be prepared. 13 And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs coming out of the mouth of the dragon, out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet. 14 For they are spirits of demons, performing signs, which go out to the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.

15 “Behold, I am coming as a thief. Blessed is he who watches, and keeps his garments, lest he walk naked and they see his shame.”

16 And they gathered them together to the place called in Hebrew, Armageddon. (Revelation 16:12-16)

This will include Russia, China, Korea, Japan, and probably Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand, and the Philippines. Things will one day dramatically change, militarily, in Asia, in terms of cooperation.

Notice also the following:

13 Then the sixth angel sounded: And I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before God, 14 saying to the sixth angel who had the trumpet, “Release the four angels who are bound at the great river Euphrates.” 15 So the four angels, who had been prepared for the hour and day and month and year, were released to kill a third of mankind. 16 Now the number of the army of the horsemen was two hundred million; I heard the number of them. (Revelation 9:13-17).

Only China, and possibly India and others in Asia (many of which will one-day align themselves with China and Russia against the European Empire), are capable of fielding a two hundred million man army. Thus, Revelation appears to be discussing an Asian role in the end-time prophecies.

As I have written before, there were only about 100,000,000 males (including children) on the entire earth when God had the Apostle John pen the prophecy in Revelation 9:16 that a 200,000,000 man army would form (Rastogi VB, Kishore B. A Complete Course in ISC Biology. Pitambar Publishing, 1997, p. 24). This means, despite those who claim that the Book of Revelation was fulfilled centuries ago (see The Dangerous Rise of Preterists), that the prophecy about the 200 million man army is for a time like we are now in.

In the Book of Jeremiah, it is shown that a northern people (which most logically would seem to have to be Russia at this stage) will be part of the force that extends to the ends of the earth (like China) and then eventually invades, end time Babylon (which will be a European power):

9 For behold, I will raise and cause to come up against Babylon
An assembly of great nations from the north country,
And they shall array themselves against her;
From there she shall be captured.
Their arrows shall be like those of an expert warrior;
None shall return in vain. (Jeremiah 50:9)

50:41 Behold, a people shall come from the north,
And a great nation and many kings
Shall be raised up from the ends of the earth.
42 They shall hold the bow and the lance;
They are cruel and shall not show mercy.
Their voice shall roar like the sea;
They shall ride on horses,
Set in array, like a man for the battle,
Against you, O daughter of Babylon. (Jeremiah 50:41-42).

From a European perspective, Russia is a north country whose borders reach to the eastern ends of the earth, as do China’s and many Asian-Pacific nations.

Donald Trump’s nationalist message may help encourage those in Asia to get closer to China and Russia’s Eurasian Union.

Eurasian forces will one day gather at Armageddon. No, I am not saying that Donald Trump intentionally is causing Armageddon, but that some of his statements are probably going to help drive various Asian nations together.

More than 1 million people rallied at women’s marches in the nation’s capital and cities around the world Saturday on President Donald Trump’s first full day in office.

“Welcome to your first day, we will not go away!” marchers in Washington chanted.

Along with women, many in pink hats, plenty of men joined in, too, contributing to the turnout everywhere from New York, Philadelphia, Chicago and Los Angeles to Mexico City, Paris, Berlin, London, Prague and Sydney.

The Washington rally alone attracted over 500,000 people according to city officials. It was easily one of the biggest demonstrations in the city’s history, and as night fell, not a single arrest was reported.

The international outpouring served to underscore the degree to which Trump has unsettled people in both hemispheres.

“We march today for the moral core of this nation, against which our new president is waging a war,” actress America Ferrera told the Washington crowd. “Our dignity, our character, our rights have all been under attack, and a platform of hate and division assumed power yesterday. Commentator Hubert Wetzel said that Trump posed a threat to European security and called for European unity to weather the next four years. In an essay laced with hyperbole, he wrote:

“Europeans will have to adapt to a new tone in dealing with America. Trump has made it clear in his speech that he will pursue a nationalist foreign policy, and his speech contained no reference to America’s allies. [Trump actually said: ‘We will reinforce old alliances and form new ones,’ and ‘We will seek friendship and goodwill with the nations of the world’]. Is the world moving towards peace and non-violence as the Dalai Lama claims?

Consider that Jesus told of a time called the ‘beginning of sorrows’ that would include wars and rumors of war (Matthew 24:4-8) that would precede the start of the ‘great tribulation’ (Matthew 24:21). We have been seeing that.

Yet, prior to the start of the great tribulation, the Bible warns that there will be false declarations of peace (Ezekiel 13:8-16; 1 Thessalonians 5:21).

The Bible teaches that a peace deal will be confirmed by a European leader (called ‘the prince’ below) about 3 1/2 years prior to the start of the great tribulation:

26 And the people of the prince who is to come
Shall destroy the city and the sanctuary.
The end of it shall be with a flood,
And till the end of the war desolations are determined.
27 Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week;
But in the middle of the week
He shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering.
And on the wing of abominations shall be one who makes desolate,
Even until the consummation, which is determined,
Is poured out on the desolate (Daniel 9:26-27).

The above is referring to a deal or covenant that has a time element attached to it.

The ‘one week’ time element has generally been understood by prophecy watchers to mean a seven year deal, that will be broken in the middle of it (after 3 1/2 years). The ‘with many’ would seem to indicate that ‘many’ nations, as opposed to one or two, are agreeing to something.

The reference to a “prince” is referring to the leader of the developing European empire (see King of the North and Europa, the Beast, and the Book of Revelation). One way to show this is to realize that it was the people of the Roman Empire of the 1st century that fulfilled the portion of Daniel 9:26 as they destroyed the city (Jerusalem) in 70 A.D. Jewish sources, while not understanding all of this, also agree that it was Roman sources that destroyed the city and sanctuary as the following demonstrates:

“The people of the prince will come and destroy the city and the Sanctuary” Daniel 9:26, refers to the Roman legions of Vespasian and Titus, who destroyed Jerusalem. In the 21st century, the European Union includes much of the land and peoples that were part of the ancient Roman Empire.  And it is the “prince” coming from that people that verse 27 of Daniel 9 is referring to. Thus, this prophecy tells us that a lower level European leader will somewhat officially start to rise up about 3 1/2 years before the great tribulation (and yes, according to Jesus, some “tribulation” does happen prior to the start of the Great Tribulation). Another is the fact that the “beast of the sea” of Revelation 13:1 fits with the beasts from the “great sea” of Daniel 7:2–and that sea is the Mediterranean Sea according to the Old Testament. Hence a power in Europe the only region that could have an empire geographically like the old Roman one (for more details, please see Europa, the Beast, and the Book of Revelation).

Notice also the following about the end time Beast leader:

11 He even exalted himself as high as the Prince of the host; and by him the daily sacrifices were taken away, and the place of His sanctuary was cast down. 12 Because of transgression, an army was given over to the horn to oppose the daily sacrifices; and he cast truth down to the ground. He did all this and prospered. (Daniel 8:11-12)

Consider that it is a ‘prince’ who takes away the daily sacrifices in Daniel 9:27, and that he is also called the King of the North (Daniel 11:40) who stops the sacrifices in Daniel 11:31.

Daniel 9:27 seems to be discussing some type of peace deal that the Europeans will either propose or at least one leader from Europe will endorse. Those that claim that the “prince to come” in Daniel 9:26 is Jesus and that He is the one that confirms a covenant with many for one week, etc., will not understand what is happening related to this deal. The “prince to come” is the final European King of the North.  He is the one in Daniel 11:31 who fulfills bringing the end of the sacrifice and offering 3 1/2 years after he confirms the deal (the middle of a seven year prophetic week). Jesus did not destroy the city nor the sanctuary, nor is there a biblical record that He confirmed a seven-year covenant. Perhaps it should also be pointed out that for sacrifices to stop, they first must start–it may very well be that the Israeli government will allow them after the deal of Daniel 9:27 is put together and/or confirmed. Although they could start earlier, after the deal seems to be more likely–and we know that they do occur after the deal (the Bible does not state whether any begin prior to the deal).

About 3 1/2 years after the deal of Daniel 9:27, there will be stirrings from the King of the North (Daniel 11:31-38). Philadelphian Christians (Revelation 3:7-13) will be warning of his actions and intents–and the King of the North plans DO INCLUDE VIOLENCE AND WAR (cf. Daniel 11:39-43; Revelation 13:1-4).

Yet, many in the media will not understand what is happening, nor will most politicians. Notice that the Bible says:

3 For when they say, “Peace and safety!” then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape. (1 Thessalonians 5:3)

Leaders will attempt to tell people all is calm when it is not. Only those who ‘gather together’ (Zephaniah 2:1-3) as Philadelphian Christians are promised protection then (cf. Revelation 3:10; 12:14-16; see also There is a Place of Safety for the Philadelphians. Why it May Be Petra)–other Christians are not (cf. Revelation 12:17).

The Dalai Lama likes the European Union. But the Bible teaches that the Europeans will reorganize and even fight against God:

12 “The ten horns which you saw are ten kings who have received no kingdom as yet, but they receive authority for one hour as kings with the beast. 13 These are of one mind, and they will give their power and authority to the beast. 14 These will make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them, for He is Lord of lords and King of kings; and those who are with Him are called, chosen, and faithful.” (Revelation 17:12-14)

The way of the world and the European Union will not end in peace.

All, including the Dalai Lama, should pray for peace and the establishment of the Kingdom of God.

It will take the return of Jesus to truly establish peace on this earth.
