If the blackout were to last for an entire year, the report states that it would result in 200 million deaths in the US due to lack of healthcare and foot shortages.

An attack on the nation’s electric grid, from a solar storm, terrorist or enemy like North Korea, would have a devastating impact even if it lasted just one day, Congress and the Pentagon have been warned.

His warning opens a new book from EMP expert Peter Vincent Pry titled EMP Manhattan Project: Organizing Survival Against An Electromagnetic Pulse Catastrophe. If the USA were hit by an effective EMP (electromagnetic pulse) weapon, this would be more devastating than many believe. Iran and North Korea are two nations considered to be capable of hitting the USA with an EMP attack.

North Korean officials have warned in a letter to the United States that denuclearisation talks were “again at stake and may fall apart”, CNN has reported, citing people familiar with the matter.

The letter was delivered directly to US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, and stated that North Korean leader Kim Jong Un’s government felt that the process could not move forward.

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani appeared before parliament on Tuesday, marking the first time he has been summoned by lawmakers since he assumed office in 2013. …

Here’s what he said:

• Anti-government protests in January “tempted” US President Donald Trump to withdraw from the nuclear deal.
• “The economic problems are critical, but more important than that is that many people have lost their faith in the future of the Islamic Republic and are in doubt about its power.”
• “We are not afraid of America or the economic problems. We will overcome the troubles.”

North Korea seems to be getting more frustrated with the USA and Iran seems to be getting more desperate.

This does not mean that either would launch an EMP attack, but there have been hints about either being willing to do so in the past. Various terrorist groups would also seem to have an interest in launching an EMP attack.

Irrespective of who might launch an EMP attack, consider that such an attack could have major consequences.

Furthermore, the tremendous amount of debt that the USA has would also make recovery more difficult. Consider that if the USA could not pay its debts when it was doing relatively well, who would want to lend it supplies when it has even less ability to repay?

Here is something to consider from my book Donald Trump and America’s Apocalypse:

The debt situation of the U.S.A. is putting it at risk of being unable to recover should it be hit by weather problems, terrorist acts, war, riots, solar flares, severe earthquakes, civil unrest, devastation of their genetically-modified food supplies, food shortages, and/or various pestilences–an intensity of “sorrows” such as Jesus discussed in Matthew 24:4-8 leading up to the time of the Great Tribulation. Political issues, climate change, trade policies, communication’s deals, and other events are pushing the U.S.A. to a position that will encourage its takeover someday. Disasters, especially if there is an ElectroMagnetic Pulse (EMP) attack or a severe solar flare storm, could be part of a so-called “perfect storm” of events that could set the USA for destruction. The USA will be weakened further prior to the start of the Great Tribulation (Matthew 24:21). Notice some of Jesus’ words:

8 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be earthquakes in various places, and there will be famines and troubles. These are the beginnings of sorrows. (Mark 13:8)

19 For in those days there will be tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the creation which God created until this time, nor ever shall be.

20 And unless the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake, whom He chose, He shortened the days. (Mark 13:19-20)

An emp incident could be a factor in the troubles that hit prior to the start of the Great Tribulation.

According to many reports, such an attack could be devastating–though I would not expect such an attack, itself, to kill 200 million. But such an attack could pave the way for the destruction of the USA as also foretold in Old Testament prophecies such as Ezekiel 5, Daniel 11:39, and Jeremiah 30:7.

US President Donald Trump reported a trade deal with Mexico:

WHITE HOUSE — 

The United States and Mexico have reached a trade agreement, leaving Canada as the odd man out in efforts to revise or replace the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), according to U.S. President Donald Trump.

The new deal will be called the United States-Mexico Trade Agreement, Trump said Monday.

“We’ll get rid of the name NAFTA, it has a bad connotation because the United States was hurt very badly by NAFTA for many years,” Trump said.

“It’s a big day for trade, it’s a big day for our country,” Trump said with reporters present, who were called to the Oval Office to watch as Trump spoke on the telephone with Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto.

The Mexican leader expressed hope to “renew, modernize and update” NAFTA while Trump’s rhetoric indicated he sees that 24-year-old three-nation deal as dead.

“We’ll have a formal news conference in the not-too-distant future,” about the trade pact, Trump said to Pena Nieto.

“This is something very positive for the United States and Mexico,” Pena Nieto replied, saying he is looking forward to toasting Trump with tequila to celebrate, expressing to his American counterpart that he is “really grateful and greatly recognize and acknowledge your political will in all of this.”

Mexico has agreed to immediately begin purchasing as many agricultural products from the United States as possible, according to Trump.

Pena Nieto leaves office on December 1, turning over the Mexican government to his leftist successor, Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador. That means the clock is ticking to give Mexico’s legislature enough time to ratify it before the change of administration. …

Trump, who blames NAFTA for the destruction of manufacturing jobs in the United States, repeatedly threatened to abandon the trade pact with Canada and Mexico, which came into effect during the Clinton administration in 1994.

Trump has rejected other multi-national deals, such as the Trans-Pacific Partnership (another trade pact) and the Paris Agreement on climate change mitigation, expressing a strong preference for one-on-one negotiations on trade and other matters with countries. …

Negotiations with Canada

Trump said he would call Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau soon and that the United States is open to talks with Canada if it is willing to negotiate fairly.

“I’ll be terminating the existing deal,” Trump said in reference to NAFTA.

The U.S. president also threatened America’s northern neighbor with penalties if there is no agreement.

“Frankly, a tariff on cars is the much easier way to go,” said Trump.

In Ottawa, officials are expressing resilience.

“We will only sign a new NAFTA that is good for Canada and good for the middle class,” said the Canadian foreign ministry in a statement, indicating Ottawa’s willingness to “continue to work toward a modernized NAFTA.”

Let me add that ultimately, Mexico will trade more with Europe than the USA, despite this deal Donald Trump announced.

The EU and Mexico have agreed “in principle” to update their 18-year-old trade deal. The move sends a message to the US after President Donald Trump announced a series of protectionist trade measures.

The agreement came after months of intensetalks between EU and Mexican negotiators, and while some technical issues remain, an agreed text is expected by the end of the year.

“In less than two years the EU and Mexico have delivered a deal fit for the economic and political challenges of the 21st century,” said EU Trade Commissioner Cecilia Malmstrom as the agreement was announced on Saturday. “Today’s agreement also sends a strong message to other partners that it is possible to modernize existing trade relations when both partners share a clear belief in the merits of openness, and of free and fair trade.”

Malmstrom’s comments appeared to be directed at US President Donald Trump as he seeks to renegotiate the 1994 North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), which he has said benefits Mexico.

Donald Trump and Mexico’s future

Mexico has increasingly been in the news because of statements and policies of US President Donald Trump. Many in Mexico are not intending to sit back and accept whatever Donald Trump attempts to force them to do. What will happen to Mexico? Will it make trade deals with Europe? Will it ultimately go to war against the USA? Will the Mexican economy decline at times and then improve? Dr. Thiel answers these questions and more.

Now we see a likely deal between Mexico and the EU.

The Bible tells of a powerful trade empire arising in the last days in Europe, called “Babylon the Great” (Revelation 18). Mexico will support Europe (see also Mexico, Central America, South America, Brazil, and the Caribbean in Prophecy).

Mexico would also like land back that the USA now has. Bible prophecy points to this as well (e.g. Daniel 11:39).

So, no, Donald Trump’s deal will not tie Mexico to the USA so much that this type of thing will not happen.

It has long been my view that problems with trade and/or trade agreements will be a factor that will further turn Europe against the USA (see also WTO Trade Deal and the Rise of the European Beast Power). Trade disputes are likely to be a factor that will lead to World War III.

Pope Francis told journalists to read the report calling for his resignation for not dealing with a known pedophile cleric:

Rome (AFP) – Pope Francis has declined to comment on a growing scandal after a former Vatican official claimed the pontiff ignored sexual abuse allegations against a senior clergyman and called on him to resign.

Archbishop Carlo Maria Vigano, a former Vatican envoy to the United States, said he had told Francis of the claims against prominent US cardinal Theodore McCarrick in 2013.

But rather than punish McCarrick, who was forced to resign last month, Vigano said Francis had lifted sanctions imposed on him by his predecessor Pope Benedict XVI.

“Corruption has reached the very top of the Church’s hierarchy,” Vigano said in an eleven-page letter published on Saturday in the National Catholic Register and several conservative US Catholic publications.

But the pope refused to address the allegation on Sunday.

“I will not say a word about that. I think that the communique speaks for itself,” Francis said on his plane as he flew back from Dublin to Rome. …

Francis told journalists to “read the communique attentively and make your own judgement,” referring to Vigano’s letter.

Federal authorities should treat it like one

Imagine for a moment that a big, admired multinational corporation, one selling a beloved product, was employing large numbers of male pedophiles and rapists, operating in rings all over the world, and that their crimes had been uncovered in Australia, Ireland, Canada, the Philippines, Belgium, France, Austria, New Zealand, Argentina, Chile, Britain, Germany and the United States, and, further, that senior executives had systematically covered up and suppressed evidence, transferring and enabling hundreds of predators, betraying thousands of victims.

What would happen to the company is not terribly difficult to imagine.

At a minimum, the U.S. government would likely use its Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) law to go after not only the rapists and molesters, but also the company’s executives, up to and including its CEO if possible, seizing the company’s assets and seeking the harshest possible prison terms. That’s the sort of thing RICO was invented for. The company would almost certainly collapse.

But of course no company’s warranty guarantees everlasting life, and no company maintains that its CEO is chosen by God.

Grand jury report

The Roman Catholic church does, which is the only explanation for why, after the release of a grand jury report that detailed more than 1,000 cases of sexual abuse in Pennsylvania over several decades by more than 300 predators in clerical collars, many of whom are still alive, millions of American Catholics continued to attend mass. http://www.cbc.ca/news/opinion/grand-jury-report-1.4798291

The above report has many more details (and for more details related to the Grand Jury report, check out: Church of Rome manual on how to cover-up pedophilia issues revealed). But one of its other points was that there are so many Catholic voters in so many lands that political leaders are basically afraid to push against the Catholic Church like they would against a secular corporation. (As far as the CEO goes, no the pontiffs are not the faithful successors to the original apostles, for some details check out the article on Apostolic Succession.)

But is this Vatican corruption simply a late 20th and current 21st century corruption only?

No.

Ever since Simon Magus’ influence, there has been corruption. In Rome itself, this is clear from reports in the second century, as well as doctrines it adopted.

Roman leaders who claimed Christianity were among the first to do away with the biblical Sabbath (see The Sabbath in the Early Church and Abroad) and the biblical date of Passover (see Passover and the Early Church).

Consider also, that history records that even though Polycarp of Smyrna denounced Marcion of Pontus in the late second century, after Marcion gave money to the Church of Rome, he was allowed to stay part of that church for decades.

Consider that in the third century, according to Hippolytus (a Catholic saint who was “the most important theologian…of the Roman Church in the pre-Constantinian era” per Kirsch, Johann Peter. “St. Hippolytus of Rome.” The Catholic Encyclopedia. Vol. 7. New York: Robert Appleton Company), “Pope” Zephyrinus (technically the title pope was not taken until the fourth century) took bribes and that the corrupt Callistus paid them to become his successor as the Bishop of Rome.

In the fourth century, in compromises with the pagan Mithratic Emperor Constantine, the Church of Rome changed doctrine to become militaristic (see Military Service and the Churches of God: Do Real Christians Participate in Carnal Warfare or Encourage Violence? ) and even changed the dress of its clergy to look more like pagan priests (see Were the Early Duties of Elders/Pastors Mainly Sacramental? What was their Dress?). As far as their dress goes, earlier this month a Catholic priest wrote that the dress changes have contributed to a type of corruption of the Catholic clergy (again, see Were the Early Duties of Elders/Pastors Mainly Sacramental? What was their Dress?).

In the fourth century, the Church of Rome also backed persecutions, including murderous ones, against those who held to original Christian practices (see Persecutions by Church and State).

There has been widespread doctrinal and sexual corruption in the Church of Rome since the 4th century as even many Catholics have documented.

Catholics may be surprised to learn that when they formally accepted idols and icons in 843, the Eastern Orthodox considered that to be their great triumph over Rome (see What Did the Early Church Teach About Idols and Icons?).

Plus, we should also not forget the corruption and horrors of the famous Spanish Inquisition (see The Spanish Inquisition).

Sadly, corruption in the Church of Rome is not a new phenomena.

And, according to Bible prophecy, it has years to go as a corrupt organization–but it will be destroyed (see Revelation 17).

In a speech to French ambassadors in Paris on Monday, Macron said “it’s up to us” to guarantee Europe’s security and therefore its sovereignty.

He said discussions on defense cooperation should include all European countries and Russia, on condition progress is made with Moscow on Ukraine.

Is Donald Trump pushing Europe to Russia?

A recent headline was “Is Trump Pushing Germany to Russia?” There have been comments by German and Russian leaders that they have aligned interests that Donald Trump opposes and need to take financial, military, and other steps to assist Europe. Russia and the EU (European Union) still support the Iran nuclear deal, Paris Climate accords, and the World Trade Organization, despite Donald Trump’s actions against them. TALLINN – Estonia together with the ministries of defense of Finland and Latvia is planning to develop unmanned land systems within the framework of the European Union’s Permanent Structured Cooperation (PESCO).

Germany, France and Belgium have also expressed interest in joining the project. A total of 30-40 million euros has been earmarked for use from the European Defense Fund, with participating countries also set to make a contribution. The start date for the planned project is the first half of 2019, the Estonian Ministry of Defense said.

“The same considerable growth that we saw with unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) 10-15 years ago can be expected in the near future for unmanned land platforms. The project’s ambition is, in cooperation with partners, to develop a solution for unmanned land systems, which would become the European standard,” Kusti Salm, director of the defense investments department at the Ministry of Defense, said.

An unmanned land vehicle, along with an autonomous control system, cyber defense solution and integrated network of sensors, will be developed within the framework of the project. So, Brexit and USA actions are more and more being cited as a reason that Europe needs its own military. And Europe is taking steps and spending money on new military projects.

As it turns out, the Bible shows that a militaristic leader, called the Beast, will rise up in Europe and be militarily successful:

1 Then I stood on the sand of the sea. And I saw a beast rising up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and on his horns ten crowns, and on his heads a blasphemous name. 2 Now the beast which I saw was like a leopard, his feet were like the feet of a bear, and his mouth like the mouth of a lion. The dragon gave him his power, his throne, and great authority. 3 And I saw one of his heads as if it had been mortally wounded, and his deadly wound was healed. And all the world marveled and followed the beast. 4 So they worshiped the dragon who gave authority to the beast; and they worshiped the beast, saying, “Who is like the beast? Who is able to make war with him?” (Revelation 13:1-4)

2 Daniel spoke, saying, “I saw in my vision by night, and behold, the four winds of heaven were stirring up the Great Sea. 3 And four great beasts came up from the sea, each different from the other. 4 The first was like a lion, and had eagle’s wings. I watched till its wings were plucked off; and it was lifted up from the earth and made to stand on two feet like a man, and a man’s heart was given to it. 5 “And suddenly another beast, a second, like a bear. It was raised up on one side, and had three ribs in its mouth between its teeth. And they said thus to it: ‘Arise, devour much flesh!’ 6 “After this I looked, and there was another, like a leopard, which had on its back four wings of a bird. The beast also had four heads, and dominion was given to it. 7 “After this I saw in the night visions, and behold, a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, exceedingly strong. It had huge iron teeth; it was devouring, breaking in pieces, and trampling the residue with its feet. It was different from all the beasts that were before it, and it had ten horns. (Daniel 7:2-8)

The “Great Sea” that bordered the ancient lands of Israel (Numbers 34:6-7; Joshua 1:4; 9:1; 23:4; Ezekiel 47:13-16) is the Mediterranean Sea–and that is the sea that Daniel was referring to. Despite some false claims by some, the Beast power is not a nation like Russia, which does not border the Mediterranean Sea, but Europe which does (Russia, however, will be a factor in eliminating the European beast power, see also The Eurasian Union, the Kings of the East, and Bible Prophecy). A comparison of the beasts in Revelation 13 and Daniel 7 shows that they share many of the same characteristics (for some details, you may wish to watch the YouTube video Can You Prove that the Beast to Come is European?).

Europe is the power that will control the “Great Sea.” And while the southern border of the Mediterranean Sea is currently under Arab control, the Bible shows that the King of the North will take over the Arab powers (Daniel 11:40-43; Ezekiel 30:1-9).

Notice that the Bible shows that this power will end up with a massive army and will destroy many nations:

25 He shall stir up his power and his courage against the king of the South with a great army.  …  39 Thus he shall act against the strongest fortresses with a foreign god, which he shall acknowledge, and advance its glory; and he shall cause them to rule over many, and divide the land for gain. 40 “At the time of the end the king of the South shall attack him; and the king of the North shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter the countries, overwhelm them, and pass through. 41 He shall also enter the Glorious Land, and many countries shall be overthrown; but these shall escape from his hand: Edom, Moab, and the prominent people of Ammon. 42 He shall stretch out his hand against the countries, and the land of Egypt shall not escape. 43 He shall have power over the treasures of gold and silver, and over all the precious things of Egypt; also the Libyans and Ethiopians shall follow at his heels. 44 But news from the east and the north shall trouble him; therefore he shall go out with great fury to destroy and annihilate many. (Daniel 11:25, 39-44)

24 His power shall be mighty, but not by his own power; He shall destroy fearfully, And shall prosper and thrive; He shall destroy the mighty, and also the holy people. 25 “Through his cunning He shall cause deceit to prosper under his rule; And he shall exalt himself in his heart. He shall destroy many in their prosperity. (Daniel 8:24-25)

7 … But it is in his heart to destroy, And cut off not a few nations.  (Isaiah 10:7)

Europe is prophesied to become a military power and destroy nations including the USA, UK, Canada, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and others.

Emmanuel Macron, himself, received the Charlemagne Prize for promoting European unity on May 10th of this year (see France’s President Macron receives the Charlemagne Prize and Germany’s Chancellor says Europe cannot rely on USA military — What are the prophetic ramifications?). He wants a stronger Europe. The prophetic reality is that Europe will turn into a militaristic dictatorship (Daniel 11:36-38; Revelation 13).

Europe will end up with a stronger military and a “great army” (Daniel 11:25). So, President Macron will get some of what he wanted.

But Europe will end up with the Beast, which is something people like Emmanuel Macron have not seriously considered.

There has been a lot of discussion about the Vatican compromising to work with the government of China.

How might that end?

Will the Chinese accept the final Beast power who is aligned with the final Antichrist?

Bible prophecy strongly suggests that the Chinese will have involvement with the the final Antichrist and the city of seven hills:

4 So they worshiped the dragon who gave authority to the beast; and they worshiped the beast, saying, “Who is like the beast? Who is able to make war with him?”

5 And he was given a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies, and he was given authority to continue for forty-two months. 6 Then he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme His name, His tabernacle, and those who dwell in heaven. 7 It was granted to him to make war with the saints and to overcome them. And authority was given him over every tribe, tongue, and nation. 8 All who dwell on the earth will worship him, whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

9 If anyone has an ear, let him hear. 10 He who leads into captivity shall go into captivity; he who kills with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.

11 Then I saw another beast coming up out of the earth, and he had two horns like a lamb and spoke like a dragon. 12 And he exercises all the authority of the first beast in his presence, and causes the earth and those who dwell in it to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed. 13 He performs great signs, so that he even makes fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men. 14 And he deceives those who dwell on the earth by those signs which he was granted to do in the sight of the beast, telling those who dwell on the earth to make an image to the beast who was wounded by the sword and lived. 15 He was granted power to give breath to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak and cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed. (Revelation 13:4-15)

1 Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and talked with me, saying to me, “Come, I will show you the judgment of the great harlot who sits on many waters, 2 with whom the kings of the earth committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth were made drunk with the wine of her fornication.”… 9 Here is the mind which has wisdom: The seven heads are seven mountains on which the woman sits. … 18 And the woman whom you saw is that great city which reigns over the kings of the earth.” (Revelation 17:1-2,9,18)

Now, you may be telling yourself that the Chinese are highly atheistic and are not likely to follow any religious leader, especially from the West. Yet, you may be surprised that within Chinese culture is a series of prophecies recorded during the Tang Dynasty of the 7th through 10th centuries. Here is a section of my book, Donald Trump and America’s Apocalypse, that I would like to quote:

There is a Chinese prophecy dating back to the Middle Ages that appears to somewhat warn against the Antichrist, while another may indicate he and others he associates with are from Europe::

Beautiful people come from the West. Korea, China and Japan are gradually at peace. (Pui-Hua, p. 85)

All negative forces are subservient…China now has a saint.  Even if he is not that great a hero. (Pui-Hua, p. 89)

It is likely that these ‘prophecies’ were written down after part of China had been exposed to the Bible. Europe is west of China and was considered to be part of the far west when the above prophecy was written. The Antichrist may seem beautiful to some as he will be able to perform miracles and will claim peace. The final Antichrist would likely be considered a ‘saint’ by many and is expected to come from an area west of China. He most certainly would not be a true hero. (Thiel B. What is interesting about all of that is that the Chinese do not really have saints, and the one that they are going to accept is not all that great. To me, this sounds like an interesting description of the final Antichrist, who by the way, will also come from the West (Europe).

In the past, the Chinese announced that they were going to try to take steps to possibly incorporate compatible Catholic/Protestant beliefs into their culture (see China moving toward one world religion! Pope to conduct mass in South Korea).

Satan knows God’s plan and has planted ideas throughout various “mystics” throughout history to confuse and deceive human kind (cf. Revelation 12:9). And even though the Chinese will be among those who will rebel against the final Antichrist, it appears that they too will, for a while, somewhat accept him and what he advocates.

From Elijah denouncing the prophets of Baal (1 Kings 18:19-40) to Jeremiah denouncing the prophecies of the falsely claimed “Queen of Heaven” (Jeremiah 44:17-25), God’s spokesmen have had to deal with those who wanted to believe their own prophets more than the God of the Bible.

Satan’s Plan is to get people everywhere to worship the Beast (cf. Revelation 13).

Perhaps if the Chinese realize this now, some of them will have the “love of the truth” (2 Thessalonians 2:10) and be spared from falling for this deception.

Pope Francis went to Ireland for the last two days of the World Meeting of Families.

Before and after getting there, he has been receiving flack for his handling of sex abuse matters in both North and South America.

A session at the World Meeting of Families on safeguarding children and vulnerable adults in the Catholic Church has been told that there is still considerable denial about the extent and nature of clerical sex abuse in many countries. …

Ms Collins – who also worked on the Vatican’s Child Protection Commission – told delegates that Canon Law had been used to protect and not punish offenders.

She said there were still people in the church who believed that the issue of abuse was a media conspiracy, and that survivors were out to destroy the church. …

Ms Collins said that anyone in Vatican who stands in the way of proper protection of children should be held accountable and removed of their titles, or the church if necessary. …

Former Vatican official calls for Pope’s resignation amid sex abuse scandal

Dublin, Ireland (CNN) A former Vatican ambassador to Washington has called for Pope Francis to resign over his handling of sexual abuse allegations against a prominent cardinal in 2013.

In a statement seen by CNN Sunday, former Archbishop Carlo Maria Vigano said he told the Pope about allegations of sexual abuse against high-profile American Cardinal Theodore McCarrick five years ago, but that the Pontiff did nothing about it.

“He [Pope Francis] knew from at least June 23, 2013 that McCarrick was a serial predator,” Vigano said in the lengthy statement dated August 22, adding, “although he knew that he was a corrupt man, he covered him to the bitter end.”

“It was only when he was forced by the report of the abuse of a minor, again on the basis of media attention, that he took action [regarding McCarrick] to save his image in the media,” Vigano continued.

A source close to Vigano confirmed the letter is genuine. CNN has so far not received a response from the Vatican.

Vigano, who retired in 2016 at age 75, called for the Pontiff to resign over his failure to act. “Pope Francis must be the first to set a good example to Cardinals and Bishops who covered up McCarrick’s abuses and resign along with all of them,” he said.<

McCarrick, 88, who once led the Archdiocese of Washington and was a force in American politics, resigned last month after a decades-old allegation of sexual abuse of a teenage altar boy. In an extraordinary 11-page written testament, a former apostolic nuncio to the United States has accused several senior prelates of complicity in covering up Archbishop Theodore McCarrick’s allegations of sexual abuse, and has claimed that Pope Francis knew about sanctions imposed on then-Cardinal McCarrick by Pope Benedict XVI but chose to repeal them.

Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò, 77, who served as apostolic nuncio in Washington D.C. from 2011 to 2016, said that in the late 2000s, Benedict had “imposed on Cardinal McCarrick sanctions similar to those now imposed on him by Pope Francis” and that Viganò personally told Pope Francis about those sanctions in 2013.

Archbishop Viganò said in his written statement, simultaneously released to the Register and other media, (see full text below) that Pope Francis “continued to cover” for McCarrick and not only did he “not take into account the sanctions that Pope Benedict had imposed on him” but also made McCarrick “his trusted counselor.” Viganò said that the former archbishop of Washington advised the Pope to appoint a number of bishops in the United States, including Cardinals Blase Cupich of Chicago and Joseph Tobin of Newark.

Archbishop Viganò, who said his “conscience dictates” that the truth be known as “the corruption has reached the very top of the Church’s hierarchy,” ended his testimony by calling on Pope Francis and all of those implicated in the cover up of Archbishop McCarrick’s abuse to resign. http://www.ncregister.com/daily-news/ex-nuncio-accuses-pope-francis-of-failing-to-act-on-mccarricks-abuse

As reported here earlier this month, there was even a manual in the USA Catholic leaders promoted to try to cover up what was happening with the sex scandals (details are in the post Church of Rome manual on how to cover-up pedophilia issues revealed).

Presuming that the allegations against Pope Francis are true, consider that even Roman Catholic approved translations of the Bible show that Pope Francis, who is considered “the Bishop of Rome,” is not meeting several of the required qualifications for being a bishop/pastor:

1. FAITHFUL saying. If a man desire a Bishops office, he desireth a good work. 2. It behoveth therefore a Bishop to be irreprehensible, the husband of one wife, sober, wise, comely, chaste, a man of hospitality, a teacher, 3. Not given to wine, no fighter, but modest, no quarreler, not covetous, 4. Well ruling his own house, having his children subject with all charity. 5. But if a man know not to rule his own house: how shall he have care of the Church of God? (1 Timothy 3:1-5, Rheims New Testament).

5. For this cause left I thee in Crete, that thou shouldest reform the things that are wanting, and shouldst ordain priests by cities, as I also appointed thee: 6. If any be without crime, the husband of one wife, having faithful children, not in the accusations of riot, or not obedient. 7. For a Bishop must be without crime, as the steward of God: not proud, not angry, nor given to wine, no striker, nor covetous of filthy lucre (Titus 1:5-7; Rheims New Testament).

Well, Pope Francis is not the husband of one wife and that may be a reason why he is not ruling the Church of Rome well. Covering up the sex scandal by allowing a US bishop to be around for five years after being given evidence is reprehensible. And according to reports from South America (that Pope Francis later apologised for), he did something similar in Latin America as well.

Perhaps it may be of interest to note that last September, 62 Catholic scholars accused Francis of promoting heresy (see 62 scholars correct Pope Francis for ‘propagating heresies’). This sex scandal ‘cover up’ issue would seem to compound his problems.

Interestingly, the Catholics have a couple of prophecies about it facing scandals:

Ven. Holzhauser (17th century): The Great Monarch will come when the Latin Church is desolated, humiliated, and afflicted with many heresies (Dupont Y. Catholic Prophecy: The Coming Chastisement. TAN Books, Rockford (IL), 1973, p. 114).

Nicholas of Fluh (15th century): The Church will be punished because the majority of her members, high and low, will become so perverted. (Dupont, p. 30)

We sadly have seen that many perverted have been associated with the Church of Rome. These pedophile and other sex scandals have humiliated the Church of Rome (“the Latin Church”). So, if the first prediction above is correct, then we are very near the time that the “Great Monarch” will rise up.

According to an Eastern Orthodox writer, the “Great Monarch” is also supposed to rise up during the time there are “very impious priests” (Tzima Otto, p. 53; see also The Great Monarch: Biblical and Catholic Prophecies)–which would be consistent with the whole sex scandal issue among the Catholic priesthood.

Many may find it of interest to realize that the Great Monarch that various Eastern and Roman Catholic prophecies look forward to seems remarkably similar to the King of the North Beast power that the Bible warns against. But irrespective of Catholic prophecies, the revelations about the sex scandals and how the Church of Rome has handled many of them is showing major problems with the Church of Rome.

We will see if Pope Francis resigns as called for, for this or some other reason.

For those who wonder about the Malachy prophecies, consider that since Emeritus Pope Benedict XVI is still alive, that perhaps Francis should not be counted in that list. Notice something I posted here on March 13, 2018 (see After five years, Pope Francis acts like an antipope and is setting the stage for the final Antichrist):

some believe that Francis may not be the legitimate successor of Benedict. Now, if Francis is not counted in the Malachy list, the one who comes after him may be the antipope of certain Catholic prophecies.

Is the USA pushing Russia and Germany closer together? Notice the following:

Is Trump Pushing Germany and Russia Together?

Vladimir Putin’s charm tour of Germany and Austria last weekend is a significant sign of change to come.

To the U.S. and European press Putin is only a step or two away from Hitler reincarnated (thanks chiefly to Bill Browder). It serves the purpose of maintaining the post WWII institutional order.

But, Putin is always nothing but relentlessly patient in his diplomatic efforts, even when European leaders, like Merkel, treat him and Russia poorly. …

So, color me surprised when I see the official photos of his meeting with Merkel carefully framed to paint him in a positive light. …

Optics are important and this image captures what both parties wanted to convey.  This meeting is the beginning of a shift in the relationship between Germany and Russia for the better.

And the question is why?

The obvious answer is necessity brought about by pressure being placed on both countries by Donald Trump through sanctions and tariffs and their shared interests represented by the Nordstream  2 pipeline.

But, this meeting went far deeper than that, especially since Merkel’s Foriegn Minister Heiko Maas boldly proclaimed that Europe needs an alternative to the SWIFT system of international electronic payments so as to keep global trade alive while the U.S. further weaponizes the U.S. dollar.

The U.S. just seized another $5 billion of Russian ‘oligarch’ money using Credit Suisse as its enforcement arm.

Again, the question is why?

Why would Merkel allow Maas to state this publicly and why was it picked up by that establishment stenographer The Financial Times?

Why is Merkel, their main mouthpiece, making googly eyes with Putin who, like Trump, represents an existential threat to their continued rule and is the leader of the pendulum swing away from globalism?

If Trump’s goal, as presented by much of the European press (as presented here by Gilbert Doctorow), is to regain complete subjugation of Europe to American dominance, then this seems counter-productive. …

Notice two reports about the US control of money:

With the US unveiling a new set of sanctions against Russia on Friday, Moscow said it would definitely respond to Washington’s latest sanctions and, in particular, it is accelerating efforts to abandon the American currency in trade transactions, said Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov.

“The time has come when we need to go from words to actions, and get rid of the dollar as a means of mutual settlements, and look for other alternatives,” he said in an interview with International Affairs magazine, quoted by RT. …

Previously, Russian Energy Minister Aleksandr Novak said that a growing number of countries are interested in replacing the dollar as a medium in global oil trades and other transactions.

“There is a common understanding that we need to move towards the use of national currencies in our settlements. There is a need for this, as well as the wish of the parties,” Novak said.

According to the minister, it concerns both Turkey and Iran, with more countries likely to join the growing dedollarization wave.

“We are considering an option of payment in national currencies with them. This requires certain adjustments in the financial, economic, and banking sectors” to accomplish. Last week, we reported that the Kremlin was interested in trading with Ankara using the Russian ruble and the Turkish lira. Consider also the following:

Heiko Maas has reacted — to the US’s withdrawal from important agreements, the damage to German interests, to Trump’s accusations, attacks and lies. Maas has written a commentary for the Handelsblatt newspaper on realigning the trans-Atlantic relationship, headlined “We will not allow the US to go over our heads.” …

Maas believes Europe must be in a position to form a counterweight to the US and act with sovereignty. “Europe United” is what Maas wants to be able to put on the scales “when America retreats.” …

In order to improve Europe’s strategic position, Germany’s top diplomat has called for the establishment of a European security and defense union. Maas sees the increase in military spending in Germany, vehemently demanded by Donald Trump, as a trans-Atlantic contribution — but to him, higher expenditure only makes sense as a “separate European project for the future.”

Until that happens, Maas sees the EU as a stronghold of rule-based order, one that abides by accords such as the Paris climate agreement, WTO rules and UN resolutions. With the US increasingly unavailable as a reliable partner, Maas wants to work more closely with like-minded countries …

Maas outlines how Europe can defend its own interests against Donald Trump’s attacks. For the foreign minister, Trump’s unilateral withdrawal from the nuclear deal (JCPOA) crossed a “red line.” Trump replaced an international agreement that was aimed at making the region safer with a US sanctions regime that could bleed the Iranian economy dry. Europe “must form a counterweight — as difficult as that can be,” he says. …

Heiko Maas notes a general estrangement from the United States: “The US and Europe have been drifting apart for years. Overlapping values?

Well, Russia supports the Paris climate agreement, is also unhappy with US trade policies, and it supports the Iranian deal. Donald Trump is accelerating the separation of Europe from the USA, while also pushing the Europeans closer to Russia.

While Germany (as well as the USA) has essentially taken the UK’s side on the nerve agent attack, consider also the following from a German source related to Russia:

Fierce power struggles over EU foreign policy orientation and leadership accompany western threats against Russia following the Salisbury poison assassination attempt. …

Berlin is maneuvering: On the one hand, it is closing ranks against Moscow and, on the other, it is not willing to cede leadership of EU foreign policy. “Good and close collaboration between Russia and Germany” is very “important,” the German president declared, thus marking a first counterpoint to British policy. …

London has always sought to prevent a close German-Russian cooperation that could also pose a threat to the UK. …

Whereas London is escalating its accusations against the Russian government – regardless of the fact that the Salisbury poison attack has not yet been solved – German heads of state and government are already again signaling to Russia the possibility of some extent of cooperation. German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier was the first western head of state to congratulate Vladimir Putin on his electoral victory. “The bilateral relations between our countries have traditionally been close, relying on a solid foundation,” he wrote. “We have always seen close cooperation between Russia and Germany … as an important pillar for common European efforts to establish and strengthen a long-term common world order on our continent.”[10] He “hopes and wishes,” Steinmeier writes, “that we will be able to counter alienation on our continent.” This marks the first counterpoint to the current, presumably only short-term, British leadership in EU foreign policy. 03/22/18 https://www.german-foreign-policy.com/en/news/detail/7572/

Germany will work some with the UK, but it also considers that the UK has betrayed Germany’s vision of a united Europe.

Germany wants to cooperate with Russia. In 2015, German Chancellor Merkel brought up trade and other forms of cooperation with Russia and its allies, “German Chancellor Angela Merkel has said that the European Union would be open to talks towards the launch of free trade negotiations with the new Eurasian Economic Union. Merkel said at the World Economic Forum in Davos that the possibility of launching talks had been discussed at EU level” (see Merkel’s European-Eurasian Trade Zone Proposal).

Notice also the following related to Russia’s view:

President Putin, basing his argument on common membership of the WTO, has contended that both the EU and EAEU would be able forge a wider pan-European association to mutual advantage. As Sergei Lavrov, the Russian Foreign Minister, has declared it: “We must work for a union of unions, an alliance of the EU and the Eurasian Union” 08/06/17 http://greater-europe.org/archives/3110

Russia is quite willing to cooperate with Germany and the rest of Europe–especially against the UK and the USA. It has long been my view that Russia will cooperate with the King of the North that will arise in Europe.

Notice something that the old Radio Church of God published back in 1962:

Germany, those living in Germany, even the German government, may not yet know that they are going to join in a treaty with the Russians to destroy the United States and bring it to its knees-it is not in his “heart” to think so, but on the other hand it IS in his “heart” to destroy-the very characteristic of the Assyrian, the modern German, is a harsh, cruel, iron, dedication to militarism and destruction! (Hill DJ, God’s Destiny for Germany. Plain Truth, March 1962, pp. 28-29)

Yes, I too, expect that Russia will make a deal with the Europeans–and actually wrote about that years before (see German-Russian relations a prelude to the end of USA dominance?) I saw the above (see Bundeswehr wants EU nationals to be soldiers). Some deals have been hinted at in this century (see Greece begs Germany’s Merkel not to throw them ‘overboard,’ while it makes deals with Russia; see also Vladimir Putin allegedly helped stop a Grexit).

Partially because of Brexit and Donald Trump, steps are aligning for Europe and Russia to cooperate more–though this will be temporary.

Notice also the following prophecy:

39 Thus he shall act against the strongest fortresses with a foreign god, which he shall acknowledge, and advance its glory; and he shall cause them to rule over many, and divide the land for gain. (Daniel 11:39)

This is a prophecy of the European King of the North taking over the USA–the power with the strongest fortresses. There are scriptures in the Old and New Testament that prove that the King of the North is a European power–for some details watch: Can You Prove that the Beast to Come is European?

It has long been my contention when the above is fulfilled, that the King of the North will grant part or all of Alaska and perhaps even also part of Canada as included in dividing “the land for gain.” Russia has long had interest in getting Alaska back. In the 20th century, Joseph Stalin hoped to invade Alaska and in the 21st century Russian academic Igor Panari claimed Russia would end up with Alaska when the USA was divided (see Russia and Ukraine: Their Origins and Prophesied Future).

The Bible is clear that Russia will be a significant military power in the end and cause fear (Daniel 11:44-45; Jeremiah 50:41-43 ; see also Russia and Ukraine: Their Origins and Prophesied Future).

There will be temporary cooperation between Russia and the Europeans, and this will not end well for the USA, UK, or Canada for that matter (cf. Daniel 11:39; see also Canada in Prophecy: What Does Bible Prophecy, Catholic Prophecy, and other Predictions Suggest About the Future of Canada?).

Germany wants cooperation with Russia, and seems to not respect the UK.

Bible prophecy shows that the current Anglo-American dominated world order will NOT continue (cf. Daniel 11:39, 8:23-25; also watch End of the Anglo-American Order and/or The New World Order Is Leaving the US Behind).

More cooperation between Germany and Russia is consistent with that.

In 1139, then Archbishop Malachy went to Rome from Ireland to give an account of his affairs.

While there he received a strange vision about the future that included the name of every pope, 112 in all from his time, who would rule until the end of time. …

We are now at the last prophecy. …

As for the prophecy concerning the 111th pope, Pope Benedict, the prophecy says of him, “Gloria Olivae,” which means “the glory of the Olive”.

The Order of Saint Benedict is also known as the Olivetans, which many claim makes Malachy’s prophecies correct. The next and final pope then should be “Peter Romanus”. …

And this week Catholics have voiced their concern over the visit.

Taking to Twitter, one wrote: “Oh no, is this the end? The visit to Ireland.. I don’t feel good about it.”

I have long been familiar with the Malachy prophecies.

Here is something I posted on this COGwriter Church of God News page five years ago:

In the 12th century, a bishop (who was later canonized as a saint by Rome) named Malachy predicted, with what some believe is complete accuracy, every pope since 1143.

The most famous name on the Malachy list is probably the last one. Commonly referred to in English as “Peter the Roman.” Some have also called him Peter II.

Malachy’s list was written in Latin. Here is what he wrote about the last pope on his list:

In persecutione extrema SRE sedebit. Petrus Romanus, quipascet oves in multis tribulationibus: quibus transactis civitas septicollis diruetur, et Iudex tremendus iudicabit populum suum. Finis.

Here is an English translation from The Catholic Encyclopedia:

“In the final persecution of the Holy Roman Church there will reign Peter the Roman, who will feed his flock amid many tribulations, after which the seven-hilled city will be destroyed and the dreadful Judge will judge the people. The End.”

Here is a slightly different version of it (with the word “Rome” inserted by Catholic Priest Culleton):

St. Malachy (12th century): During the persecution of the Holy Roman Church, there will sit upon the throne, Peter the Roman…the City of Seven Hills (Rome) will be utterly destroyed and the awful Judge will then judge the people. (Culleton, R. Gerald. The Prophets and Our Times. Nihil Obstat: L. Arvin. Imprimatur: Philip G. Scher, Bishop of Monterey-Fresno, November 15, 1941. Reprint 1974, TAN Books, Rockford (IL), p. 138)

Notice that the final Pope sits on the City of Seven Hills (which the Roman Catholic writer G. Culleton labeled Rome above), obviously the same one that Babylon the Great sits on in Revelation 17:9, that God has destroyed in verses 14-18.

As I have written in the past, the last pontiff on the Malachy list will not need to take the name “Peter the Roman” to possibly fulfill this, and that is also the position of at least one published Catholic writer (see The pope after Benedict XVI).

The name Peter the Roman could signify someone who is dedicated to a final version of the Roman Empire and is a pretender to the succession of apostles such as Peter. The name “Peter” does not have to be in his name for him to fulfill this as the one who would be the last pope would fulfill that, irrespective of his name.

In both Malachy’s description of the one who would be the next, and potentially last, pope and chapter 17 of the Book of Revelation we see:

1. Reference to the city of seven hills/mountains.
2. The destruction of the city of seven hills/mountains.
3. The end of a power in Rome.
4. Persecution.
5. Troubles/tribulations on the earth.
6. A type of judgment.
7. Events for the end time.

Whether or not the next pope is the last pope, the fact is that the last pope on the Malachy list seems to be warned against in the Holy Bible. (Thiel B. Prophecy of Peter the Roman: Two Additional Candidates. COGwriter, March 3, 2013)

As I have written for years, because of his age (and some of his policies), Pope Francis is not likely to be the last pope (though, because of certain aspects of his health, this is still possible). Whether or not Cardinal Schönborn will be the next pope is something we will see later.

Because there is still another pope alive (Benedict XVI), it may well be that Pope Francis should NOT count as number 112 of the Malachy list, but that perhaps the next pope will.

Currently, with Francis’ pushing of the interfaith and ecumenical agendas, his actions are consistent with certain prophecies. So, even if he is not the last pope, Francis has been trying to act as a bridge-builder (which is basically what Pontifex Maximus means).

According to biblical prophecy an ecumenical false persecuting religious leader is to rise up fairly soon (Does God Have a 6,000 Year Plan? What Year Does the 6,000 Years End?). Pope Francis has been laying the foundations for that.
