It’s time to concede European integration failed. What are the consequences?

Eurointelligence founder Wolfgang Münchau is a strong pro-Europe advocate. He has been that way for the entire decade I followed him.

Earlier this month he commented: “The battle for European integration has failed. It is time to recognise defeat, and to think through the consequences.”

When you fight for a cause that does not materialise, at what point do you recognise, and admit, defeat? There are some causes you may want to keep fighting for no matter what, like human rights or climate change. Is European integration in that category? For me, it is not. My biggest area of disagreement with my fellow European federalists is not in what we think is desirable. What we disagree on is where the dividing line between realpolitik and wishful thinking lies. …

Fatal Flaws

I disagree with Münchau that there ever was a chance for a united Europe.

1. The euro itself is fatally flawed. There is no way for a single interest rate to work for Italy, Germany, France, Spain and Greece with monstrously different work ethics, hours pension plans, productivity, etc.
2. There is no way to change the rules.

When the Eurozone was formed, Germany insisted on rules that could not be changed without unanimous consent of all countries and without consent of the German constitution.

Over the years Germany bent in minor ways, but did not break on some constitutional debt rules.

But point two still remains. It take unanimous consent to do nearly anything in the EU or Eurozone that was not explicitly spelled out in the Maastricht Treaty that created the EU. …

Russia is Germany’s Natural Ally 

Russia is and has been Germany’s natural ally. Note that Germany even blocked sending military aid to Lithuania and Ukraine.

Former Chancellor Angela Merkel, bowed to the Greens and dismantled German nuclear reactors.

As far as Russia being a natural ally of Germany,although that is not universally accepted, there are leaders and others who apparently  believe that. The German press reported the following:

Germany’s former chancellor Gerhard Schröder made the headlines again when he accused the government in Kyiv of saber-rattling in the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

On the January 28 episode of his German language podcast, Schröder, who was chancellor heading a coalition of his center-left Social Democrats (SPD) and the environmentalist Greens from 1998 until 2005, Schröder went on to say he thought Ukrainian criticism of Germany’s refusal to supply the country with weapons was “really outrageous.”

One of Schroeder’s last acts before being turned out of office in 2005 was authorizing Nord Stream 2, a pipeline to transport Russian natural gas directly to Germany bypassing transit countries, which has been completed and is awaiting approval by German authorities before it can begin operating. After ending his political career,Schröder took on positions with the Russian-owned gas companies Nord Stream and Rosneft. ,,,

As long term regular readers of the COGwriter Church of God News page are aware, I expect that Germany and the rest of Europe will make a deal with Russia that will not end well for the USA and Canada (see Russia and Ukraine: Their Origins and Prophesied Future).

But what about the idea that European integration is a failure?

Have there been problems?

Yes, there have been problems with European integration. Yet, such problems were prophesied:

41 Whereas you saw the feet and toes, partly of potter’s clay and partly of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; yet the strength of the iron shall be in it, just as you saw the iron mixed with ceramic clay. 42 And as the toes of the feet were partly of iron and partly of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong and partly fragile. 43 As you saw iron mixed with ceramic clay, they will mingle with the seed of men; but they will not adhere to one another, just as iron does not mix with clay. 44 And in the days of these kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed; and the kingdom shall not be left to other people; it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand forever. 45 Inasmuch as you saw that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it broke in pieces the iron, the bronze, the clay, the silver, and the gold — the great God has made known to the king what will come to pass after this. The dream is certain, and its interpretation is sure. (Daniel 2:41-45)

The strange mix that will become the European superstate will form, despite numerous integration problems. And like the Tower of Babel of Genesis 11:1-9, it will end in failure

Does that mean that Europe will not unite?

No.

The Bible differs from MishTalk as it shows that Europe will reorganize and unite:

12 “The ten horns which you saw are ten kings who have received no kingdom as yet, but they receive authority for one hour as kings with the beast. 13 These are of one mind, and they will give their power and authority to the beast. (Revelation 17:12-13)

This will happen because of various crises and issues that will face Europe. These look to include financial, health, religious, and immigration matters.

The Bible shows that the coming European beast leader, also called the King of the North, will arise promising peace.

21 And in his place shall arise a vile person, to whom they will not give the honor of royalty; but he shall come in peaceably, and seize the kingdom by intrigue. 22 With the force of a flood they shall be swept away from before him and be broken, and also the prince of the covenant. 23 And after the league is made with him he shall act deceitfully, for he shall come up and become strong with a small number of people. (Daniel 11:21-23, NKJV)

25 And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many: he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand. (Daniel 8:25, KJV).

Despite professing peace, this leader will be militaristic, do terrible things, and have a lot of power for 42 months:

3 And I saw one of his heads as if it had been mortally wounded, and his deadly wound was healed. And all the world marveled and followed the beast. 4 So they worshiped the dragon who gave authority to the beast; and they worshiped the beast, saying, “Who is like the beast? Who is able to make war with him?”

5 And he was given a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies, and he was given authority to continue for forty-two months. 6 Then he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme His name, His tabernacle, and those who dwell in heaven. 7 It was granted to him to make war with the saints and to overcome them. And authority was given him over every tribe, tongue, and nation. 8 All who dwell on the earth will worship him, whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. (Revelation 13:3-8)

Yes, Europe will unite for a time.

But what it will end up with is not something that Wolfgang Münchau and other strong pro-Europe advocates have wanted.

What do Americans think of their president’s pledge to only nominate a black woman for that nation’s Supreme Court? Many disagree according to a poll:

ABC/Ipsos Poll: 76 Percent of Americans Oppose Biden’s Pledge Only To Consider Black Women for Court Vacancy

We have been discussing the controversial pledge of President Joe Biden two years ago that he would only consider black women for the first vacancy to the Supreme Court. While past presidents have said that they wanted to appoint nominees who were female or black, they all considered a diverse set of candidates and had “short lists” that included different races and genders. Biden has promised that he will not consider males or non-black candidates. Now, an ABC News/Ipsos poll shows that 76 percent of Americans reject such a threshold exclusionary rule based on race or gender.

During the primary, Biden wanted to garner support with black voters by saying that he would only consider black women for the next seat. He made the pledge after Rep. James Clyburn pushed him to do so during a break in the presidential debate. Biden turned around and made the commitment when the debate resumed according to a new book. Clyburn later gave Biden his critical endorsement that many (including Biden) attribute his victory to in the key South Carolina primary.

Notably, even 54 percent of Democrats agreed that Biden should consider all potential candidates. “Just 23% want him to automatically follow through on his history-making commitment,” according to ABC News. https://jonathanturley.org/2022/01/31/abc-ipsos-poll-76-percent-of-americans-oppose-president-bidens-pledge-only-to-consider-black-women-for-the-supreme-court-vacancy/

Whether or not Joe Biden should have made that promise can be debated, but the fact is that he did. Since he did, he needs to keep his promise and it sounds like he intends to.

Yet, his promise brought the following scriptures to mind:

43 The alien who is among you shall rise higher and higher above you, and you shall come down lower and lower (Deuteronomy 28:43).

12 As for My people, children are their oppressors, And women rule over them. O My people! Those who lead you cause you to err, And destroy the way of your paths. (Isaiah 3:12)

Notice that Isaiah 3:12 is pointing towards disaster.

Of course, it is not that males leaders cannot lead to disaster–for they can and are (as the past few US presidents have shown). Notice also the following, which does not mention gender:

16 For the leaders of this people cause them to err, And those who are led by them are destroyed (Isaiah 9:16).

Now, since I mentioned that Joe Biden, like everyone else for that matter, should keep promises, here is the other promise I hope he will keep which was in his Tweet at the beginning of this post:

The person I nominate to replace Justice Breyer will be someone with extraordinary qualifications. Character, experience, and integrity.

It would be great if Joe Biden really were to nominate one with biblical character and integrity.

Yet, because of his strident pro-abortion and pro-LGBTQ+ agenda, that does not seem likely.

Now, let’s look again at Isaiah 3 and notice more of what it warns:

9 The look on their countenance witnesses against them,
And they declare their sin as Sodom;
They do not hide it.
Woe to their soul!
For they have brought evil upon themselves.

10 “Say to the righteous that it shall be well with them,
For they shall eat the fruit of their doings.
11 Woe to the wicked! It shall be ill with him,
For the reward of his hands shall be given him.
12 As for My people, children are their oppressors,
And women rule over them.
O My people! Those who lead you cause you to err,
And destroy the way of your paths.” (Isaiah 3:9-12)

Notice the declaration of sins like Sodom. This is a reference to what has been called ‘gay pride.’

It is pretty much guaranteed that anyone Joe Biden will nominate will condone LGBTQ+ matters. Yet the Bible teaches (after decrying sexual immorality, homosexuality, and lesbianism):

32… those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them. (Romans 1:32)

Notice something that the old Plain Truth magazine had the following back in 1969:

The Bible foretold, in advance, the exact overall conditions that would confront the nations of the English-speaking world today — the end-time descendants of the ancient House of Israel. . . In this advance warning to our nations we read: “As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my people, they which lead thee” — including sociologists and others who condone sexual freedom, espouse a “never punish” philosophy for child rearing — “cause thee to err, and destroy the way of thy paths” (Isaiah 3:12). Whether you believe this prophecy was directed toward our people or not — you have to admit it describes our day and age! …

Utter Confusion

In the Western, “progressive” world; the sexes already are beginning to dress alike and wear their hair alike — or, in some cases, switch styles. “Unisex” fashions are becoming the “in thing” in some circles. Even leading department stores are featuring “unisex” lines in special boutique booths. Leading magazines point up the growth of “hippy communes.” “Unisex,” “free sex,” “swinging singles,” “wife swapping,” “the Pill,” “sexual revolution” — these are the phrases newspaper headlines are made of today. Utter confusion about sex, marriage and the family is rampant. But where are all these changes leading us? Many leading specialists who study family life admit that the family is changing profoundly. But they do not agree on what it is becoming or where it ought to go from here. (Armstrong GT. Modern Romans, Part 1, Plain Truth, August 1969)

The ‘utter confusion’ that began in the late 1960s has worsened in the 21st century. It is now to the point that the ‘liberal elite’ say you cannot tell a male from a female by their anatomy or genetics, but need to accept whatever ‘gender’ someone wishes to identify themselves by. That being said, it is not that a woman is necessarily a worse leader than a man, but there are warnings in scripture.

Notice also the following about the prophetess Deborah:

4 Now Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lapidoth, was judging Israel at that time. 5 And she would sit under the palm tree of Deborah between Ramah and Bethel in the mountains of Ephraim. And the children of Israel came up to her for judgment. 6 Then she sent and called for Barak the son of Abinoam from Kedesh in Naphtali, and said to him, “Has not the Lord God of Israel commanded, ‘Go and deploy troops at Mount Tabor; take with you ten thousand men of the sons of Naphtali and of the sons of Zebulun; 7 and against you I will deploy Sisera, the commander of Jabin’s army, with his chariots and his multitude at the River Kishon; and I will deliver him into your hand’?” 8 And Barak said to her, “If you will go with me, then I will go; but if you will not go with me, I will not go!” 9 So she said, “I will surely go with you; nevertheless there will be no glory for you in the journey you are taking, for the Lord will sell Sisera into the hand of a woman.” (Judges 4:4-9)

Deborah held a leadership position, but even she indicated that it was to a male leader’s shame. But most in the USA overlook what the Bible teaches.

While the Bible lists many roles for women (cf. Proverbs 31), there are some roles that are discouraged and some that are prohibited (see Women and the New Testament Church). Beyond that, though, the Bible lists standards for leaders, that neither the Democratic nor Republican nominees possess:

19 Listen now to my voice; I will give you counsel, and God will be with you: Stand before God for the people, so that you may bring the difficulties to God. 20 And you shall teach them the statutes and the laws, and show them the way in which they must walk and the work they must do. 21 Moreover you shall select from all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness; and place such over them to be rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens. (Exodus 18:19-21)

2 “The Spirit of the Lord spoke by me,
And His word was on my tongue.
3 The God of Israel said,
The Rock of Israel spoke to me:
‘He who rules over men must be just,
Ruling in the fear of God. (2 Samuel 23:2-3)

It is my view that no matter who is nominated, either this time or the next, will not have the proper fear of God, nor proper respect for His laws and statutes.

Notice something else related to women in Isaiah 3:

16 Moreover the Lord says:

“Because the daughters of Zion are haughty,
And walk with outstretched necks
And wanton eyes,
Walking and mincing as they go,
Making a jingling with their feet,
17 Therefore the Lord will strike with a scab
The crown of the head of the daughters of Zion,
And the Lord will uncover their secret parts.”

18 In that day the Lord will take away the finery:
The jingling anklets, the scarves, and the crescents;
19 The pendants, the bracelets, and the veils;
20 The headdresses, the leg ornaments, and the headbands;
The perfume boxes, the charms, 21 and the rings;
The nose jewels, 22 the festal apparel, and the mantles;
The outer garments, the purses, 23 and the mirrors;
The fine linen, the turbans, and the robes.

24 And so it shall be:

Instead of a sweet smell there will be a stench;
Instead of a sash, a rope;
Instead of well-set hair, baldness;
Instead of a rich robe, a girding of sackcloth;
And branding instead of beauty.
25 Your men shall fall by the sword,
And your mighty in the war.

26 Her gates shall lament and mourn,
And she being desolate shall sit on the ground. (Isaiah 3:16-26)

What is happening in the USA will not end well for it.

The Chinese “New Year 2022 of the Tiger” starts February 1, 2022. Here is something posted about it:

Christians do not believe in luck as scripture teaches:

28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.  (Romans 8:28)

The Chinese New Year, itself, is based upon a lunar-solar calendar cycle. Like the biblical one, it is supposed to be somewhat related to Spring, though the Chinese one tends to begin earlier.

The Chinese New Year is basically considered to be an observance originally established to worship pagan gods and also has astrological implications (it also can involve ancestor worship). Unlike Western astrology which is supposedly based upon the astrological sign in the sky when one is born (which varies about monthly), Chinese astrology is based on being born in a particular astrological year. The Chinese have 12 astrological signs that rotate in a cycle.

The year that is ending was the year of the ox. People who are to be born between now and next year are considered to ‘astrologically’ be born under the sign of the Chinese year of the tiger.

Chinese New Year is an important traditional Chinese holiday celebrated on the first day of the year of the Chinese calendar. In China, it is also known as the Spring Festival, the literal translation of the modern Chinese name. Chinese New Year celebrations traditionally run from Chinese New Year’s Eve, the last day of the last month of the Chinese calendar, to the Lantern Festival on the 15th day of the first month, making the festival the longest in the Chinese calendar. Because the Chinese calendar is lunisolar, the Chinese New Year is often referred to as the “Lunar New Year“.

The first day is for the welcoming of the deities of the heavens and earth, officially beginning at midnight. Eight Day Another family dinner is held to celebrate the eve of the birth of the Jade Emperor, the ruler of heaven. People normally return to work by the eighth day.the Store owners will host a lunch/dinner with their employees, thanking their employees for the work they have done for the whole year.

Approaching 12 midnight on this day, Hokkien people prepare for a Jade Emperor ritual (Bai Ti Gong or 拜天公) during which incense is burnt and food offerings made to the Jade Emperor and also to Zao Jun, the Kitchen God who reports on each family to the Jade Emperor.

Some people will hold a ritual prayer at after midnight on the eighth day. In Malaysia, especially, people light fireworks, often more than on the first day…

The fifteenth day of the new year is celebrated as Yuanxiao Festival/Yuánxiāojié (元宵節), also known as Shangyuan Festival/Shàngyuánjié (上元節) or the Lantern Festival (otherwise known as Chap Goh Mei Chinese: 十五暝; pinyin: Shíwǔmíng; literally “the fifteen night” in Fujian dialect)…In Malaysia and Singapore, this day is celebrated by individuals seeking for a love partner, a different version of Valentine’s Day.

Since about a fifth to a quarter of humanity is Chinese, I thought it may be important to point out the pagan implications of this holiday as it is celebrated by scattered Chinese around the world.

The Bible itself has a different start of the New Year. When speaking of the Hebrew month of Abib, which occurs around late March/early April God declared:

“This month shall be your beginning of months; it shall be the first month of the year to you” (Exodus 12:2).

And that was not January 1st nor is it February 1st in 2022.

Also, the Bible is opposed to astrology (cf. Isaiah 47:13-15), and would not condone being part of astrological celebrations.

The first day of the next biblical new year is April 2nd for 2022, which technically begins after sunset on April 1st.

Today, thanks to an additional protocol in the withdrawal agreement, Northern Ireland is de facto still part of the European Union’s single market, while trade with the rest of Britain is more difficult. For Northern Ireland, this has certainly paid off in the first Brexit year — think of the numerous supply bottlenecks in the United Kingdom.

But it is a severe betrayal for the unionists. Their camp is politically divided, and it is conceivable that Sinn Fein will triumph in regional elections in May. In other words, the Irish nationalist camp now sees itself in a position of strength after decades of oppression and is now confidently calling for Northern Ireland to unite with the Republic of Ireland.

All this is causing new frustration in a society still largely split between nationalists and unionists. Since the 1998 Good Friday Agreement, there has been relative peace in Northern Ireland, but the 50-year anniversary of Bloody Sunday is a reminder that there is still plenty of mutual mistrust.

It is primarily Brexit and the renewed discussion of Irish reunification, as well as reckless proposals such as Johnson’s de facto amnesty plans, that have added fuel to the fire.

Notice the German view that Northern Ireland is “de facto still part of the European Union’s single market.”

Furthermore, the time will come when Northern Ireland will be part of the Republic of Ireland.

That view is consistent with something the old Worldwide Church of God  published, which also had some historical background on the situation in Ireland:

OF COURSE I want a united Ireland,” said the young teacher in Londonderry. “But not with that lot down South,” she added with scorn.

That expresses one of the tragedies in Northern Ireland today.

Most southern Irish dream of a united Ireland while those in the North are bitterly divided over any effort in that direction. Ireland’s divergent groups say they want peace and unity — but on their own terms. …

How Irish Strife Began

Protestants and Catholics in Ireland have distrusted each other for centuries. “The Irish have long memories,” one man told me.

To understand why there is strife in Ulster today, we must understand Irish history. Ireland has a complex history that involves cultural, ethnic, economic, political, temperamental and social differences.

It’s a history filled with conflict between the native Irish and the foreign colonizers — whether they were Danes, Normans, English or Scots. The Irish also fought among themselves. There were feuds between families, battles between tribes and wars between provinces.

In the 12th century, Pope Adrian appealed to England’s King Henry II (1154-89) for help in reforming Ireland by establishing full Papal authority. Pope Adrian’s document said: “You shall enter that island and execute whatever may tend to the honour of God and the welfare of the land; and also that the people of that land shall receive you with honour and revere you as their lord…” (text of Laudabiliter in Irish Historical Documents, edited by Curtis and McDowell, pages 17, 18).

But England did not fully conquer Ireland until the time of Elizabeth I.

Meanwhile, Ireland, in the reign of Edward II (1307-27), was divided between Irish and English who had different languages, habits and laws. Their deep animosity toward each other was evident long before Protestantism. The English and Irish systems of land tenure, property and inheritance increased resentment and bitterness between the two factions. Religious conflict developed only later.

The Ulster Plantations

England’s first Protestant king, Henry VIII, abolished papal authority in Ireland by declaring himself the head of the Irish church. But the Catholic friars were beyond Henry’s power. They continued to preach everywhere among the people. Toward the end of Henry’s reign, the Jesuits came to Ireland under the protection of Con O’Neill, “prince of the Irish of Ulster.” Because they helped keep Roman Catholic traditions alive, most of Ireland remained faithful to Rome.

In 1541, the English Parliament declared Henry VIII “King of this land of Ireland, annexed and knit forever to the imperial crown of the realm of England.” This paved the way for the effective conquest of Ireland by Queen Elizabeth I.

Ulster demanded the immediate attention of Queen Elizabeth. It was here that the Catholic Earl of Tyrone led the last pocket of Gaelic Irish resistance against English conquest and colonization. His army was defeated at Kinsdale in 1601. His lands — comprising six of the nine counties of Ulster — were planted or settled with Scottish Protestants.

Under James I, massive tracts of land were seized from the natives and granted to Scottish and English colonizers. By 1640, Protestants owned three million out of 3.5 million acres.

These “Ulster Plantations” divided Ireland into two antagonistic communities. The conquered and impoverished Catholic natives remained side by side with the Protestant settlers. When Sir George Carew reported on the plantations in 1611, he clearly foresaw that the Irish would rebel again.

The Scots who settled in Ulster were considered by the native Irish as being proud and haughty aliens. To the Scots, the Irish were backward in manners and customs. Thus the scorn of the Scot was met by the curse of the Celt — “the wild Irish” as they appeared to the eyes of the Scots.

In parts of Ireland, English colonists became absorbed by the native population. But in Ulster, Presbyterian Scots didn’t generally intermarry with the devoutly Catholic native Irish.

Irish Catholics resented being ruled by persons of a different ethnic background and a different religion. To them, it was Protestant monarchs in England who had exploited and oppressed them. They felt discriminated against in respect to land tenure, housing, employment and political opportunity. This discrimination led to the uprisings in 1641, 1798 and, most recently, 1969.

Ulster Presbyterians such as Henry Cooke, Thomas Drew and Hugh Hanna became involved in politics as early as 1820. Politics and religion became mingled together, remaining so to this day. …

Discrimination in employment is still a problem in Northern Ireland. Protestant-owned firms employ mainly Protestants. Catholic firms do the same. Employers don’t want to upset their employees by hiring someone of a different religion. They have yet to acquire the courage to be impartial in whom they hire rather than practice sectarian discrimination. …

Will Ireland be united in the foreseeable future? The chasms that divide the island are so deep and wide, it could take years before there is any hope of reconciliation. (Boraker R. When Peace Comes to Ireland. Plain Truth magazine, October 1984)

A type of unity has existed in Ireland for a couple of decades after the signing of the ‘Good Friday’ agreement in 1998.

The border between the Republic of Ireland and the UK’s Northern Ireland was totally open for some time, but now there are issues because of Brexit.

The UK wants to retain control of Northern Ireland. Most in Northern Ireland (which is mainly nominally Protestant) do not want be to under control of the Republic of Ireland to its south (which is mainly nominally Roman Catholic).

The EU and Ireland have their agenda and keep pushing for it.

The EU wants Northern Ireland to act like it is part of the EU, whereas Ireland wants Northern Ireland to decide it should really be part of it and not the UK.

Despite British hopes for its future, Northern Ireland will cease to be part of the UK. British loss of territories will one day include Northern Ireland. Notice a few prophetic warnings that are consistent with that:

24 ‘Do not defile yourselves with any of these things; for by all these the nations are defiled, which I am casting out before you. 25 For the land is defiled; therefore I visit the punishment of its iniquity upon it, and the land vomits out its inhabitants. 26 You shall therefore keep My statutes and My judgments, and shall not commit any of these abominations, either any of your own nation or any stranger who dwells among you 27 (for all these abominations the men of the land have done, who were before you, and thus the land is defiled), 28 lest the land vomit you out also when you defile it, as it vomited out the nations that were before you. (Leviticus 18:24-29)

23 ‘And if by these things you are not reformed by Me, but walk contrary to Me, 24 then I also will walk contrary to you, and I will punish you yet seven times for your sins. 25 And I will bring a sword against you that will execute the vengeance of the covenant; when you are gathered together within your cities I will send pestilence among you; and you shall be delivered into the hand of the enemy. (Leviticus 26:23-25)

58 “If you do not carefully observe all the words of this law that are written in this book, that you may fear this glorious and awesome name, THE LORD YOUR GOD, 59 then the Lord will bring upon you and your descendants extraordinary plagues — great and prolonged plagues — and serious and prolonged sicknesses. 60 Moreover He will bring back on you all the diseases of Egypt, of which you were afraid, and they shall cling to you. 61 Also every sickness and every plague, which is not written in this Book of the Law, will the Lord bring upon you until you are destroyed. 62 You shall be left few in number, whereas you were as the stars of heaven in multitude, because you would not obey the voice of the Lord your God. 63 And it shall be, that just as the Lord rejoiced over you to do you good and multiply you, so the Lord will rejoice over you to destroy you and bring you to nothing; and you shall be plucked from off the land which you go to possess. (Deuteronomy 28:58-63)

These territorial losses will include Northern Ireland and Gibraltar, as well as England, Wales, and Scotland (and also its naval presence in Cyprus and other places). Yes, one day, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland will be no more.

I expect that the Republic of Ireland (or at least an Irish leader) will have control over Northern Ireland and probably other lands as well with the next decade or so.

Notice what Article 3 the Irish Constitution states:

It is the firm will of the Irish Nation, in harmony and friendship, to unite all the people who share the territory of the island of Ireland, in all the diversity of their identities and traditions, recognising that a united Ireland shall be brought about only by peaceful means with the consent of a majority of the people, democratically expressed, in both jurisdictions in the island. Until then, the laws enacted by the Parliament established by this Constitution shall have the like area and extent of application as the laws enacted by the Parliament that existed immediately before the coming into operation of this Constitution.

While the democratic way is one way, if that does not work, military pressure will accomplish this (cf. Daniel 8:24-25, 11:39).

The Bible teaches against cross dressing:

Yet, as Western governments become more totalitarian, they do not want it even taught that effeminate people, and others part of the LGBTQ+ movement, can change.

That being said, Sean Penn is in error if he really thinks it is genetics that are causing the increase in effeminacy.

The real cause has to do with those who do “not like to retain God in their knowledge”:

Yes, various leaders want to suppress the truth in unrighteousness. That is a factor in increased effeminacy.

As far as genes go, people have either xx (female) or xy (male) chromosomes. Mutilating surgeries, ingesting of hormones, cross-dressing, etc., does not change one’s chromosomes–which are part of every one of the trillions of cells in every human body.

A study came out in August of 2019 showing that so many Americans are so fearful from news reports that more have become doomsday preppers. Meaning that they are storing up food, weapons, and other supplies for an apocalyptic type event to hit the USA. Opinion: The Catholic Church cannot police itself

Twenty years have passed since the Boston Globe report on the sexual abuse of children by members of the Boston Archdiocese of the Catholic Church. The time since has only lengthened the catalogue of horrors, with untold numbers of cases of children abused at the hands of the church across the globe.

Year on year, the numbers have grown as victims have continued to demand redress — and the public has slowly become numb to the magnitude of the crimes. Sporadically, a new report, like the one from last week in Munich, erupts into public view and sheds more light on the scale of the abuse.

The latest report adds 500 victims between 1945 and 2019 in the Archdiocese of Munich and Freising to the more than 3,500 victims across Germany, which was revealed in an explosive church report in 2018.

In Ireland, 9,000 dead children, who died in uncertain circumstances at the infamous mother-and-baby homes, were buried in unmarked graves. The widespread abuse of children in Catholic residential schools in Canada led to at least 6,000 deaths, many discovered in unmarked graves. In France, an independent study estimated last year that since 1945, members of the Catholic church have abused more than 300,000 children.

Conspiracy of silence

But it’s not just the abuse itself that makes the history of sexual crimes against minors so profoundly disturbing. The church has shown, in its scandalously sluggish pace of reform, that it is unwilling to invite national authorities to investigate these crimes. Its institutional conspiracy of silence — the protection of the secrecy of confession, and the refusal to make files public or hand them over to authorities — now seem confirmed by the revelations of the Munich and Freising report, which implicated former Pope Benedict XVI, then known as Joseph Ratzinger, in four cases of abuse.

Officials within the Catholic Church aided and abetted crimes against children. What we know now is that the former pope knew of the abuse, helped with the relocation of at least one abuser, and then gave false information about it. https://www.cogwriter.com/news/wp-admin/post-new.php

One of the reasons that the Church of Rome has had these issues is because it eventually embraced celibacy for its clergy, which was not the practice of the early Christian church (see Was Celibacy Required for Early Bishops or Presbyters).

Partially because of these sex scandals, the Catholic News Agency reported last March that a third of Roman Catholics in Germany are thinking of leaving that church:

Survey: One in three Catholics in Germany thinking of leaving Church

A third of all German Catholics are considering leaving the Church, according to a new survey published on Thursday.

The representative study, unveiled March 11, was conducted by the Erfurt-based opinion research institute INSA Consulere on behalf of the Catholic weekly newspaper Die Tagespost and the Protestant news agency Idea. It confirms a previous survey’s findings that indicated similar numbers.

Of those surveyed who belong to the Catholic Church, 33% are considering leaving the church because of the ongoing scandals over the handling of clerical sex abuse cases, while 44% said that they were not going to turn their back on the Church. A further 14% of respondents indicated that they “didn’t know.” Nine percent of those involved in the survey did not specify an answer.https://www.catholicnewsagency.com/news/survey-one-in-three-catholics-in-germany-thinking-of-leaving-church

While nearly everyone has been aware of the scandals, few people do seem to be aware that these scandals may actually help fulfill an old Roman Catholic prophecy.

Notice the following written several centuries ago:

Venerable Bartholomew Holzhauser (Born in the 17th century, in Germany). The fifth period of the Church, which began circa 1520, will end with the arrival of the Holy Pope and of the powerful Monarch…The Great Monarch will come when the Latin Church is desolated, humiliated, and afflicted with many heresies (Dupont, Yves. Catholic Prophecy: The Coming Chastisement. TAN Books, Rockford (IL), 1973, pp. 38, 114).

Nicholas of Fluh (15th century): The Church will be punished because the majority of her members, high and low, will become so perverted. (Dupont, p. 30)

The pedophile and other sex scandals have humiliated the Church of Rome (“the Latin Church” to distinguish it from the Eastern/Greek church), hence if the above prediction is correct, then we are very near the time that the “Beast” leader will rise up. People leaving it may contribute to it being “desolated”.

According to an Eastern Orthodox book, the “Great Monarch” is also supposed to rise up during the time there are “very impious priests” (Tzima Otto, p. 53; see also The Great Monarch: Biblical and Catholic Prophecies)–which would be consistent with the whole sex scandal issue among the Roman Catholic priesthood.

The Great Monarch that the Greco-Roman Catholic prophecy speaks about shares many similarities with the one that the Bible warns will rise up as the final Beast of Revelation and the the final King of the North in Daniel 11:21-44. If the above prediction by Holzhauser is correct, then it is possible that these sex scandals will be a factor involved in the humiliation of the Church of Rome for this time. There are many other Catholic private prophecies that suggest a time when Catholics will not have much respect for their church, but after a time of trouble, this is supposed to change and an ecumenical version of that church is expected to rise up.

Perhaps it should be mentioned that some others have noted similarities between the Great Monarch and the coming Beast-Antichrist power. Notice the following:

The tradition of the Great King and the Holy Pope…first emerged from the Tiburtine Sibyl, a work that may date back to AD 380-400…Catholic writer Paul Thigpen warns, “Looking for the Great Monarch, then, who does not appear in Scripture, might lead to overlooking the Antichrist who does…It might even lead to…mistaking the Antichrist for the Great Monarch…” (Penn L. False dawn: the United Religions Initiative, globalism, and the quest for a one-world religion. Sophia Perennis, 2005, p. 420).

The Bible warns about a time when the Beast and False Prophet rise up. These individuals share characteristics to the “Great Monarch” and an “antipope” foretold in various Catholic prophecies.

Whether or not there is any accuracy to these “private revelations”, according to biblical prophecy, we are very near the time when the “Beast” leader and “false prophet/Antichrist” will rise up.

What will bring the Europeans to embrace some type of religion en masse?

The Bible points to marvelous military success and economic domination along with signs and lying wonders:

1 Then I stood on the sand of the sea. And I saw a beast rising up out of the sea … 3 And I saw one of his heads as if it had been mortally wounded, and his deadly wound was healed. And all the world marveled and followed the beast. 4 So they worshiped the dragon who gave authority to the beast; and they worshiped the beast, saying, “Who is like the beast? Who is able to make war with him?”

5 And he was given a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies, and he was given authority to continue for forty-two months. 6 Then he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme His name, His tabernacle, and those who dwell in heaven. 7 It was granted to him to make war with the saints and to overcome them. And authority was given him over every tribe, tongue, and nation. 8 All who dwell on the earth will worship him, whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. (Revelation 13:1a,3-8)

11 Then I saw another beast coming up out of the earth, and he had two horns like a lamb and spoke like a dragon. 12 And he exercises all the authority of the first beast in his presence, and causes the earth and those who dwell in it to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed. 13 He performs great signs, so that he even makes fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men. 14 And he deceives those who dwell on the earth by those signs which he was granted to do in the sight of the beast, telling those who dwell on the earth to make an image to the beast who was wounded by the sword and lived. 15 He was granted power to give breath to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak and cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed. 16 He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, 17 and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

18 Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man: His number is 666. (Revelation 13:11-18)

7 For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way. 8 And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming. 9 The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, 10 and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11 And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, 12 that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness. (2 Thessalonians 2:7-12)

That being said, the sex scandals may be a piece of the puzzle for certain end time prophetic events to line up.

The Vatican and its followers truly have found them to be “humiliating”, which is what Holzhauser seems to have written.

Yet, despite people in Germany wanting to leave the Roman Catholic and Protestant churches, after various events and signs, the Bible shows nearly all will embrace the ecumenical imperial religion that will be forced upon Europe. Initially the coming Beast of the Sea will feign a changed version of Roman Catholicism.

But despite biblically prophesied signs and lying wonders, those that support the Beast power will actually turn against the Church of Rome according to scripture:

9 “Here is the mind which has wisdom: The seven heads are seven mountains on which the woman sits. …

12 “The ten horns which you saw are ten kings who have received no kingdom as yet, but they receive authority for one hour as kings with the beast. 13 These are of one mind, and they will give their power and authority to the beast. …

15 Then he said to me, “The waters which you saw, where the harlot sits, are peoples, multitudes, nations, and tongues. 16 And the ten horns which you saw on the beast, these will hate the harlot, make her desolate and naked, eat her flesh and burn her with fire. 17 For God has put it into their hearts to fulfill His purpose, to be of one mind, and to give their kingdom to the beast, until the words of God are fulfilled. 18 And the woman whom you saw is that great city which reigns over the kings of the earth.” (Revelation 17:9,12,15-18)

The Bible is clear that the Beast of the Earth (Revelation 13:11-17) will support the Beast of the Sea (Revelation 13:1-10) more than Rome, and the Beast of the Sea (called the King of the North in Daniel 11:40) will support himself above existing religions (cf. Daniel 11:36-38).

The masses will tolerate the betrayal of the Church of the City of Seven Hills for many reasons, including, probably, Rome’s sullied reputation because of its sexually-abusive clergy and the coverups from various of its leaders.

OTTAWA (Reuters) – Canada’s capital city of Ottawa is set on Saturday for a “massive” protest against Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s COVID-19 vaccine mandates with the arrival of convoys of hundreds of vehicles from across the country.

The so-called “Freedom Convoy” – coming from east and west – started out as a protest against a vaccine requirement for cross-border truckers, but has turned into a demonstration against government overreach during the pandemic with a strong anti-vax streak.

The convoys are scheduled to get in around noon, but already on Friday dozens of vehicles blocked the roads in front of parliament. A total of some 2,700 trucks are expected, a federal government source said.

Nova Scotia Targets The Freedom Convoy Supporters

Nova Scotia has made it illegal to gather alongside the interprovincial highway in support of the Truckers for Freedom Convoy.

Thousands of Canadians have braved the cold along the route. Supporters have lined the route, cheered from overpasses, and offered to feed drivers in their homes and restaurants.

This protest has been a grassroots movement that has grown much bigger and garnished more support than the organizers could have ever imagined. …

On January 26, speaking at a press conference, embattled Candian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau called the millions supporting the freedom convoy organized by everyday truckers a “fringe minority,” adding that only by complying with the government can citizens regain their rights and freedoms.

Shocked and visibly shaken by the enormous number of freedom-loving Canadians coming to Ottawa to demand he stops his directorial measures, Trudeau stated,

“The small, fringe minority of people are on their way to Ottawa, who are holding unacceptable views that they’re expressing, do not represent the views of Canadians who have been there for each other, who know that following the science, and stepping up to protect each other is the best way to continue to ensure our freedoms, our rights, our values, as a country,” …

This ‘Freedom Convoy’ and Prime Minister Trudeau’s comments about it suggest that there is growing division in Canada.

Claudia Winterhalter lived in West Germany when the country was divided, and says she saw the impact of totalitarianism on East Germany. Growing up, she watched her dad work as a bus driver and wanted to follow in his footsteps. To qualify for driving a bus, you first have to drive a truck in Germany, she said, so she began her career in trucking in 1996. After she married a Canadian truck driver, she continued her career in Canada. The 54-year-old from Orangeville, Ont., has not been vaccinated, but is not against the vaccine. Most of her family and children have gotten it. She believes it is a personal choice. She says much of what is happening reminds her of what she grew up witnessing, with food shortages, political unrest and government overreach. The above report mentioned totalitarianism and political unrest. That causes division.

Jesus taught:

25 Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand. (Matthew 12:25)

We are seeing more divide in Canada

This will not end well for Canada (cf. Daniel 8:24-25, 11:39).

Notice also something that Isaiah was inspired to record:

4 Alas, sinful nation,
A people laden with iniquity,
A brood of evildoers,
Children who are corrupters!
They have forsaken the Lord,
They have provoked to anger
The Holy One of Israel,
They have turned away backward.

5 Why should you be stricken again?
You will revolt more and more.
The whole head is sick,
And the whole heart faints.
6 From the sole of the foot even to the head,
There is no soundness in it,
But wounds and bruises and putrefying sores;
They have not been closed or bound up,
Or soothed with ointment.

7 Your country is desolate,
Your cities are burned with fire;
Strangers devour your land in your presence;
And it is desolate, as overthrown by strangers. (Isaiah 1:4-7)

Truly, Canada is a sinful nation with a people laden with iniquity.

As far as the future safety of areas of Canada go, consider the following prophecies:

5 They have corrupted themselves; They are not His children, Because of their blemish: A perverse and crooked generation. … 25 The sword shall destroy outside; There shall be terror within (Deuteronomy 32:5,25)

12 “Cry and wail, son of man; For it will be against My people, Against all the princes of Israel. Terrors including the sword will be against My people; … (Ezekiel 21:12)

5 Also they are afraid of height, And of terrors in the way (Ecclesiastes 12:5).

6 You have forsaken Me,” says the Lord,
“You have gone backward.
Therefore I will stretch out My hand against you and destroy you;
I am weary of relenting!
7 And I will winnow them with a winnowing fan in the gates of the land;
I will bereave them of children;
I will destroy My people,
Since they do not return from their ways.

I will cause anguish and terror to fall on them suddenly. (Jeremiah 15:6-8)

Irrespective of what happens with the truckers’ protest and the Canadian government’s response, Canada will be hit with terror and unrest.

Like the USA, Canada may very well be gone by 2028 (see also Might the U.S.A. Be Gone by 2028?).

Canada’s only hope is not protests or its government.

Canada needs national repentance and the coming Kingdom of God.
