The Associated Press reported the following:

Egypt floats plan to end Israel-Hamas war.

Israel and Hamas on Monday gave cool public receptions to an Egyptian proposal to end their bitter war. But the longstanding enemies stopped short of rejecting the plan altogether, raising the possibility of a new round of diplomacy to halt a devastating Israeli offensive in the Gaza Strip.

The Egyptian plan calls for a phased hostage release and the formation of a Palestinian government of experts to administer the Gaza Strip and occupied West Bank, according to a senior Egyptian official and a European diplomat familiar with the proposal.

The Egyptian official, speaking on condition of anonymity to discuss the proposal, said the details were worked out with the Gulf nation of Qatar and presented to Israel, Hamas, the United States and European governments. Hamas and Israel have differing objectives, but the Egyptian proposal could be built upon later.

The Palestinian Authority has held talks with Israel, Saudi Arabia, and the United States in advance of the pending deal between Riyadh and Washington, National Security Advisor Tzachi Hanegbi told the World Summit on Counter-Terrorism in Herzliya on Monday.

“It is important that the Palestinians are part of the process,” Hanegbi said as he referenced the deal with Riyadh that would include a normalization deal with Israel and gestures to the Palestinians.

“This Saudi deal requires a dialogue with the Palestinians,”  Hanegbi said, explaining that he has been doing this on behalf of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for eight months through the Forum of Five. This forum includes representatives from Israel, the PA, the United States, Jordan, and Egypt. …

One of the most important international agreements in modern history is being secretly negotiated behind the scenes, and once it is publicly announced it could fundamentally change the geography of the Middle East. … As part of a blockbuster deal to normalize relations between Saudi Arabia and Israel, the Saudis want to achieve some sort of a diplomatic breakthrough for the Palestinians.  That won’t be an independent Palestinian state, because Benjamin Netanyahu would never accept such an outcome.  But the Saudis have floated another plan that might be acceptable to Netanyahu’s government, and it would result in a historic division of the Holy Land. …

The Saudis are also quite motivated to get a deal done, because they realize that a deal may not be possible once a Republican enters the White House. …

According to Axios, the Biden administration has made it abundantly clear to the Israelis that there will be no agreement at all unless they are willing “to make significant concessions to the Palestinians”…

The Biden administration told the Israeli government last week that it would have to make significant concessions to the Palestinians as part of any possible mega-deal with Saudi Arabia that includes normalization between the kingdom and Israel, four U.S. officials and a source briefed on the issue told Axios.

So what would “significant concessions” look like?

We know that there will be no independent Palestinian state while Netanyahu is in charge.

But would Netanyahu support merging the Palestinians into the nation of Jordan? …

Ali Shihabi set forth the details of this plan.

According to Shihabi, this new entity “would include present-day Jordan, Gaza, and the West Bank”…

This proposed enlarged kingdom would include present-day Jordan, Gaza, and the West Bank (areas populated by Palestinians attached in a contiguous manner and physically connected to Jordan, i.e., not broken up into islands). Israeli arguments as to the need to retain the Jordan Valley become moot since the valley will now be controlled by a Jordanian government with a reliable record of maintaining peace with Israel. The convenient argument that Israel has no “peace partner” will now also be eliminated.

Shihabi seems to think that Israel would agree to this if the Palestinians were to relinquish all claims to the city of Jerusalem…

Jerusalem, despite the fact that neither Arabs nor Muslims have a hope of dislodging Israel from it, is, given its symbolism, a key bargaining chip in Palestinian hands. The formal relinquishment of any claims to Jerusalem (with an appropriate arrangement for the holy places) can be an important concession used to secure the foregoing terms. The Palestinians, after all, are the only party who can do this and, hence, completely legitimize Israel in the eyes of the region and the world.

And Shihabi also envisions a democratic vote in which the agreement would be ratified by both the Jordanians and the Palestinians…

As suggested elsewhere, Jordan will change its name to reflect this territorial union (the name “Hashemite Kingdom of Palestine” has lately been suggested in an article published in the Saudi Royal Family-owned news outlet “Al-Arabiya News”, last June 8, 2022), and an internationally recognized border between Israel and the Hashemite Kingdom of Palestine will be established to recognize the new reality.

That doesn’t mean that this is what is going to happen.

During the course of negotiations, so many things can change.

The above is interesting, though a broader regional war in the Middle East, probably also involving Syria and Iran may need to take place first (cf. Isaiah 22:6-9).

Now, the Bible itself shows that the time will come when there will be a temporary ‘peace deal’ (see the article The ‘Peace Deal’ of Daniel 9:27).

But the Bible also shows that a European leader will be involved in confirming the coming prophesied deal of Daniel 9:26-27, which states:

26 And the people of the prince who is to come Shall destroy the city and the sanctuary. The end of it shall be with a flood, And till the end of the war desolations are determined. 27 Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week; But in the middle of the week He shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering. And on the wing of abominations shall be one who makes desolate, Even until the consummation, which is determined, Is poured out on the desolate (Daniel 9:26-27).

The “prince” is a European leader who is later called the King of the North in Daniel 11:40. The ‘one week’ has generally been understood by prophecy watchers to mean a seven year deal, that is broken in the middle of it (after 3 1/2 years). This break is also confirmed in the following scripture:

31 And forces shall be mustered by him, and they shall defile the sanctuary fortress; then they shall take away the daily sacrifices, and place there the abomination of desolation. (Daniel 11:31)

The “him” is the European King of the North.

One way to show Daniel is referring to a European kingdom is to realize that it was the people of the Roman Empire of the 1st century that fulfilled the portion of Daniel 9:26 as they destroyed the city (Jerusalem) in 70 A.D. Jewish sources, while not understanding all of this, also agree that it was Roman sources that destroyed the city and sanctuary as the following demonstrates:

“The people of the prince will come and destroy the city and the Sanctuary” Daniel 9:26, refers to the Roman legions of Vespasian and Titus, who destroyed Jerusalem. In the 21st century, the European Union includes much of the land and peoples that were part of the ancient Roman Empire. And it is the “prince” coming from that people that verse 27 of Daniel 9 is referring to. Thus, this prophecy tells us that a lower level European leader will somewhat officially start to rise up about 3 1/2 years before the great tribulation (and yes, according to Jesus, some “tribulation” does happen prior to the start of the Great Tribulation). Another is the fact that the “beast of the sea” of Revelation 13:1 fits with the beasts from the “great sea” of Daniel 7:2–and that sea is the Mediterranean Sea according to the Old Testament. Hence a power in Europe the only region that could have an empire geographically like the old Roman one (for more details, please see Europa, the Beast, and the Book of Revelation).

Consider the following prophetic sequence based upon Daniel’s writings and Jesus’ words in the Gospels:

1. The beginning of sorrows (Matthew 24:4-8)–this has begun.
2. A seven year deal is confirmed/advanced and the final countdown begun– this has not happened yet, though various ones are working on it.
3. There will be persecutions against those the support the true end-time Philadelphia work –this will intensify.
4. The Gospel of the Kingdom will reach the world as a witness — this is in progress but not finished.
5. The sacrifices, which will have started, will stop and the abomination spoken of by Daniel will be set up (Daniel 9:27, 11:31, 12:11). This is about 3 1/2 years after item 2.
6. The most faithful will flee (Revelation 12:14-16).
7. The Great Tribulation will begin and Jerusalem will be trampled down by Gentiles for 42 months.
8. Jesus will return 3 1/2 years after the Great Tribulation begins.
9. Jesus will bring peace (see How Will Middle East Peace be Brought About?).

Notice how many items are directly predicated on the seven-year deal of Daniel 9:27. Note: The sacrifices will have to start before they are stopped, but precisely where that appears in the sequence is unclear, other than it is after item 2 and prior to item 5.

Note that the European Union has a Middle East “peace envoy” and it expects to be involved (see https://www.jpost.com/israel-news/politics-and-diplomacy/article-751872).

With various ones wanting some part of Middle East peace deal, Europeans wanting to be involved, and Palestinians wanting Europe involved, we are seeing steps on the world scene that are aligning with properly understood biblical prophecies.

Orthodox Church Row Threatens US Aid to Ukraine

December 25, 2023

Ukrainian Orthodox Christians attended services on Sunday as the country for the first time celebrated Christmas on December 25, after the government changed the date from January 7, when most Orthodox believers celebrate, as a snub to Russia.

“All Ukrainians are together,” said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in a Christmas message released Sunday evening. “We all celebrate Christmas together. On the same date, as one big family, as one nation, as one united country.” …

“We believe that we really should celebrate Christmas with the whole world, far away, far away from Moscow. For me, that’s the new message now,” said one smiling parishioner, Olena, whose son is a medic on the front line.

“We really want to celebrate in a new way. This is a holiday with the whole of Ukraine, with our independent Ukraine. This is very important for us,” she told AFP.

Notice that the government of Ukraine made the change.

While this is portrayed as a snub against Russia, it is also a snub against the rest of the Eastern Orthodox Catholics who use the January 7 date.

This attitude of Ukraine’s government towards religion is not a new one in 2023. Notice, for example, two reports from last December;

KYIV, Ukraine (AP) — Ukraine on Friday banned the activities of religious organizations “affiliated with centers of influence” in Russia and said it would examine the links between the Ukrainian and Russian Orthodox churches.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a decree enacting a National Security and Defense Council decision to impose personal sanctions against representatives of religious organizations associated with Russia, which invaded Ukraine more than nine months ago.

Zelenskyy’s decree additionally provided for examining the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate, one of two Orthodox bodies in Ukraine following a schism that in 2019 resulted in the establishment of one with independence from the Russian church.  …

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov accused Ukrainian authorities last week of “waging a war on the Russian Orthodox Church.” …

Orthodox Christians are the largest religious population in Ukraine. But they have been fractured along lines that echo political tensions over Ukraine’s defense of its independence and its Western orientation amid Russia’s continued claim to political and spiritual hegemony in the region — a concept sometimes called the “Russian world.” https://apnews.com/article/zelenskyy-kyiv-religion-europe-government-and-politics-7eaf9ac19b000a2147f0204877a0004e

Zelensky’s skill at public relations, which has led many to regard any criticism of him or his government as Russian propaganda.

Yet a closer look at life in Zelensky’s Ukraine reveals that it is not the paragon of democracy and Western values that everyone seems to think it is. Ukraine is a deeply corrupt country with wealthy oligarchs playing the same role there as they do in Putin’s Russia. Using the war as an excuse, Zelensky has banned his political opposition and shut down all media not controlled by his regime.

The latest example of his authoritarian style is even more egregious.

Zelensky’s attempt to bar Orthodox churches that answer to the Russian Orthodox Church ought to dispel any notion that Americans are supporting Western values of freedom in this war. …

The discovery of pro-Russia literature in some churches is being proclaimed as proof of treason. Others are dismissing the initial cries of outrage as misinformation. Zelensky hasn’t banned the Orthodox Church, his apologists say. Orthodox Christians are free to worship and attend services, but only in approved Ukrainian Orthodox churches that look to religious leaders in Kyiv rather than Moscow. …

This approach toward the Orthodox Church clearly contradicts those eager to portray this war as a clear-cut conflict between an authoritarian oppressor and a democratic underdog.

While Putin, in his quest to reassemble the old Tsarist and Soviet empires, should not be allowed to extinguish Ukraine’s right to self-determination, the reality on the ground is that many ethnic Russians and Russian speakers living in the country don’t identify with Ukrainian nationalism. So even churches that take no part in the conflict are seen by Zelensky and his cohorts as enemies. …

The apt comparison for Zelensky’s move against the Russian Orthodox Church here is not to democracies under siege but to communist China, which for decades limited Christian worship to only those Catholic or Protestant churches that pledged fealty to Beijing and the Communist Party and not to any independent religious authority. https://www.newsweek.com/zelensky-defender-democracy-opponent-religious-freedom-opinion-1766012

Volodymyr Zelensky  is a secular Jew. Yet, let me point out that it is not just the current government of Ukrainian with that approach or attitude.

Back in 2018, shortly thereafter, leaders in Ukraine met to become independent of the Moscow patriarch. Here is a report:

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has announced the creation of an independent Ukrainian Orthodox Church, marking a historic split from Russia.

He said national security depended on “spiritual independence” from Russia.

He was speaking at a special council of orthodox priests in Kiev, where a new leader of the Church was selected.

The Russian Orthodox Church cut ties with the spiritual authority of the world’s Orthodoxy after it recognised the Ukrainian Church’s independence.

Russia also fears that its churches in Ukraine could be seized. …

The special council was held in the ancient St Sophia’s Cathedral – one of Kiev’s best known landmarks.

Ukrainian clerics of different Orthodox denominations – including some bishops from the Moscow branch – elected Metropolitan Epifaniy as the leader of the new church.

“This day will go into history as a sacred day… the day of the final independence from Russia,” President Poroshenko told a crowd of thousands outside the cathedral. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-46575548

Years back, the Russian church was concerned about this and asked for international assistance. And while the Vatican and the World Council of Churches were sympathetic to the Russia position, the Patriarch of Constantinople made a ruling in favor of the nationalistic Ukrainian Orthodox Church.

There was not some new doctrinal change in the Russian Orthodox Church (ROC) that caused Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople to recognize the Ukrainian Orthodox church as independent of the ROC.

Basically, that schism was due to politics. And since Jesus was not born on December 25th, the shift in date by the government of Ukraine was also about politics. Those in Western Europe and the USA — the suppliers of most of the funds and military equipment to Ukraine, observe Christmas on December 25th.

Notice also the following about the split between Ukraine and the Russian Orthodox Church back in December 2018– and the particular words of which I bolded:

A council of Orthodox bishops has created a new Ukrainian church, marking an historic split from Russia which its leaders see as vital to the country’s security and independence.

The announcement on Saturday came after Ukrainian priests held a synod in capital Kiev’s 11th-century Saint Sophia Cathedral to establish an Orthodox church independent from Moscow. …

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko announced that 39-year-old Metropolitan Epifaniy of the Kiev Patriarchate church is the head of the new church. His secular name is Sergiy Dumenko. …

“Ukraine was not, is not, and will not be the canonical territory of the Russian church,” Poroshenko said, adding that an independent Ukrainian Orthodox Church was now a “matter of national security”. …

In Moscow, the Russian Orthodox Church protested vigorously and dismissed the synod as uncanonical.

Vladimir Legoida, a spokesman for the Moscow church, told Russian state television that the Kiev synod had “no church, religious or evangelical meaning” and that it will have “no canonical consequences”.

Representatives of Ukraine’s three Orthodox Churches attended the synod, but only two from the branch loyal to Moscow showed up.

Like the old Roman Emperors Constantine and Theodosius, rulers of Ukraine place their government over religion.

Actually, it was the sun god worshiping Emperor Constantine who wanted the December 25th originally as it was celebrated as the birthday of the sun god Mithra.  The Catholic Encyclopedia notes:

Constantine the Great… Constantine can rightfully claim the title of Great, for he turned the history of the world into a new course and made Christianity…the religion of the State… it is easy to understand that many of the emperors yielded to the delusion that they could unite all their subjects in the adoration of the one sun-god who combined in himself the Father-God of the Christians and the much-worshipped Mithras; thus the empire could be founded anew on unity of religion. Even Constantine…cherished this mistaken belief… Could not Sol Deus Invictus, to whom even Constantine dedicated his coins for a long time, or Sol Mithras Deus Invictus, venerated by Diocletian and Galerius, become the supreme god of the empire?  Constantine may have pondered over this. Nor had he absolutely rejected the thought even after a miraculous event had strongly influenced him in favour of the God of the Christians… It is true that the believers in Mithras also observed Sunday as well as Christmas. Mithraism A pagan religion consisting mainly of the cult of the ancient Indo-Iranian Sun-god Mithra. It entered Europe from Asia Minor after Alexander’s conquest, spread rapidly over the whole Roman Empire at the beginning of our era, reached its zenith during the third century, and vanished under the repressive regulations of Theodosius at the end of the fourth century…Helios Mithras is one god…Sunday was kept holy in honour of Mithra, and the sixteenth of each month was sacred to him as mediator. The 25 December was observed as his birthday, the natalis invicti, the rebirth of the winter-sun, unconquered by the rigours of the season (Arendzen J. This is not new, but this has been a factor in the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

Back in December 2018, I also posted:

That has since happened. The Donbas region is in support of Russia, aligned with it, and last year was annexed by Russia.

That being said, yes politics plays a role in what is happening between Russia and Ukraine.

But religion is also involved as political leaders have long invoked it when it comes to military conflict.

While there will, at some point, be a temporary acceptance of the Ukrainian and Russian Orthodox churches with each other (as there will be temporal success of the interfaith and ecumenical movements), the current situation has been a factor in the shedding of blood in Ukraine and territories it once controlled.

Pray to the Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6) for God’s kingdom to come (Matthew 6:10).

Many who claim Christianity celebrate December 25th as the date of Jesus’ birth.

Yet, many do not understand the biblical or historical truth about it.

Here is a list of 22 items people who keep Christmas seem not to fully consider:

1. In Leviticus 23, God lists His festivals–with specific dates.

1 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, 2 “Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them: ‘The feasts of the Lord, which you shall proclaim to be holy convocations, these are My feasts.

3 ‘Six days shall work be done, but the seventh day is a Sabbath of solemn rest, a holy convocation. You shall do no work on it; it is the Sabbath of the Lord in all your dwellings.

4 ‘These are the feasts of the Lord, holy convocations which you shall proclaim at their appointed times. 5 On the fourteenth day of the first month at twilight is the Lord’s Passover. 6 And on the fifteenth day of the same month is the Feast of Unleavened Bread to the Lord; seven days you must eat unleavened bread.  (Leviticus 23:1-6)

If you read the entire list, neither birthdays nor anything resembling Christmas is pointed to by God to observe.

2. In Jeremiah 10, God says not to follow pagan practices, such as using a decorated tree, in the worship of Him:

1 Hear the word which the Lord speaks to you, O house of Israel.

2 Thus says the Lord:

“Do not learn the way of the Gentiles;
Do not be dismayed at the signs of heaven,
For the Gentiles are dismayed at them.
3 For the customs of the peoples are futile;
For one cuts a tree from the forest,
The work of the hands of the workman, with the ax.
4 They decorate it with silver and gold;
They fasten it with nails and hammers
So that it will not topple. (Jeremiah 10:1-4)

10 But the Lord is the true God;
He is the living God and the everlasting King.
At His wrath the earth will tremble,
And the nations will not be able to endure His indignation.

11 Thus you shall say to them: “The gods that have not made the heavens and the earth shall perish from the earth and from under these heavens.” (Jeremiah 10:10-11)

3. Nowhere in the Bible is the date of Jesus’ birth mentioned. You can read all the New Testament, as well as look for clues in the Old Testament, and nothing points to the date people celebrate as Christmas.

4. Scripture opposes the view that Jesus could have been born in late December.

The Bible teaches:

1 And it came to pass in those days that a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be registered. 2 This census first took place while Quirinius was governing Syria. 3 So all went to be registered, everyone to his own city.

4 Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and lineage of David, 5 to be registered with Mary, his betrothed wife, who was with child. 6 So it was, that while they were there, the days were completed for her to be delivered. 7 And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.

8 Now there were in the same country shepherds living out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night.  (Luke 2:1-8)

The Catholic Encyclopedia says the “census would have been impossible in winter.”

Consider also that shepherds were not spending the night outside with their flocks then. They stopped doing that normally in the Fall.

Therefore, when we look at scripture, we realize Jesus was not born when many claim to celebrate His birth.

5. There is no hint in scripture to for God’s faithful to observe birthdays.

The first century Jewish historian Josephus noted that Jewish families did not celebrate birthdays:

Nay, indeed, the law does not permit us to make festivals at the birth of our children, and thereby afford occasion of drinking to excess (Josephus. Translated by W. Whiston. Against Apion, Book II, Chapter 26. Extracted from Josephus Complete Works, Kregel Publications, Grand Rapids (MI), 14th printing, 1977, p. 632).

Now although there is no specific command against the celebration of birthdays in the Bible, the Jewish custom in those days was apparently based on the negative occurrences in the Bible surrounding birthdays, as well as the astrological implications of the celebration of birthdays (pagan practices, like astrology, were specifically prohibited in the law–see also OMENS? DIVINATION? HOROSCOPES? THE ORIGIN OF ASTROLOGY).

When we look in the New Testament, no one is ever instructed to observe the date of Jesus’ birth.

6. That lack of instruction also goes along with the fact that the New Testament does not show that Jesus’ disciples ever observed the date of Jesus’ birth.

7. Early professors of Christ did not celebrate birthdays either. At the time of Christ, observant Jews did not celebrate birthdays, nor did early Christians.

Here is some of what the Greco-Roman theologian Origen wrote in the 3rd century:

…of all the holy people in the Scriptures, no one is recorded to have kept a feast or held a great banquet on his birthday. It is only sinners (like Pharaoh and Herod) who make great rejoicings over the day on which they were born into this world below (Origen, in Levit., Hom. VIII, in Migne P.G., XII, 495) (Thurston H. Natal Day. Transcribed by Thomas M. Barrett. Dedicated to Margaret Johanna Albertina Behling Barrett. The Catholic Encyclopedia, Volume X. Copyright © 1911 by Robert Appleton Company. The writings of the late third century Roman Catholic theologian Arnobius show that, even that late, Greco-Roman Catholics objected to the celebration of birthdays as he wrote:

…you worship with couches, altars, temples, and other service, and by celebrating their games and birthdays, those whom it was fitting that you should assail with keenest hatred. (Arnobius. Against the Heathen (Book I), Chapter 64. Excerpted from Ante-Nicene Fathers, Volume 6. Edited by Alexander Roberts & James Donaldson. American Edition, 1886. Online Edition Copyright © 2005 by K. Knight).

Thus birthday celebrations, even of gods and leaders, were condemned as far as the late third century by even Roman Catholic leaders. Birthdays of pagan deities were celebrated by many in the Roman Empire, and early professors of Christ did not want to imitate the pagans.

8. The Apostle Paul wrote that Christians were not to use demonic pagan practices in worship:

19 What am I saying then? That an idol is anything, or what is offered to idols is anything? 20 Rather, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice they sacrifice to demons and not to God, and I do not want you to have fellowship with demons. 21 You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons; you cannot partake of the Lord’s table and of the table of demons. 22 Or do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? Are we stronger than He? (1 Corinthians 10:19-22)

9. The sun god Mithras was allegedly born on December 25th as the season was celebrated as the rebirth of the sun.

10. Pagans celebrated the sun-god Mithras and the god of agriculture Saturn in late December each year with lights, wreaths, parties, and gift-giving.

11. About 2 centuries after Jesus was born, Tertullian wrote that people in what we would now call the Eastern and Roman Catholic churches, used wreaths and lights, gave gifts, etc. in late December to be like the heathen. Pagan worship really is the “reason for the season.”

12. Tertullian condemned those practices as demonic and idolatrous and further wrote that those who professed Christ should not honor pagan gods in their worship.

13. The pagan Emperor Constantine worshiped the sun-god Mithras and then celebrated Jesus’ birth on December 25th starting in 336 A.D.

14. Roman pontiffs followed Emperor Constantine’s lead and in 354 A.D., Bishop Liberius of Rome ordered the people to celebrate on December 25.

15. The anti-Semite Constantinople Bishop John Chrysostom, who opposed the biblical holy days, got a December 25^th celebration adopted in his area by 395 A.D.

16. So, because of its late adoption, it should be obvious that Christmas was NOT part of the ‘faith once for all delivered to the saints’ (Jude 3).

17. Furthermore, the word for Christmas in late Old English is Cristes Maesse, the Mass of Christ, first found in 1038, and Cristes-messe, in 1131. It most certainly did not come from the Bible.

18. The liturgy of early Christian church services did NOT resemble Greco-Roman mass services. Hence, holding a “mass” is not consistent with early Christian practices.

19. The “twelve days of Christmas” originally came from the 12 days of Yuletide which began at sunset on December 20, known as Mother Night, and ended on the night of December 31, the Night of the Oak King and the Roman day of Hecate.

There is a right way and a wrong way–do not based this on your feelings about what is right:

8 You shall not at all do as we are doing here today–every man doing whatever is right in his own eyes– … 25 do what is right in the sight of the Lord.  (Deuteronomy 12:8,25)

Wiccans’ (witches) still keep Yule. And despite the Roman Catholic saint St. Boniface obtained the abolition  of yule logs from Pope Zachary in the 8th century, many still embrace them today.

20. Mistletoe came from the pagan Druids.

21. Roman Catholics originally condemned Protestantism as the “Tannenbaum religion” because of what are called Christmas trees. But now Vatican City prominently displays one each year.

22. It is wrong to bear false witness, including telling lies about the mythological Santa Claus.

Christmas is NOT a biblical nor truly a Christ-centered holiday. It is a sentimental and commercialized pagan tradition.

Christmas is a distraction from the Gospel of the Kingdom of God. It is not a Christ-centered holiday as its proponents sometimes claim.

Christmas has the wrong emphasis and is not based on truth.

Jesus taught:

24 God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth. (John 4:24)

7 And in vain they worship Me, Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’ (Mark 7:7)

Of course, it is vain and bearing false witness to deceive children about Santa Claus.

There is a right way and a wrong way to live and worship God–do not base this on your emotional feelings about what is right:

8 You shall not at all do as we are doing here today–every man doing whatever is right in his own eyes– … 25 do what is right in the sight of the Lord. … 32 Whatever I command you, be careful to observe it; you shall not add to it nor take away from it. (Deuteronomy 12:8,25,32)

God did not command keeping Christmas: pagans came up with it.

Consider something that the Apostle Paul wrote:

17 This I say, therefore, and testify in the Lord, that you should no longer walk as the rest of the Gentiles walk, in the futility of their mind, 18 having their understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart; 19 who, being past feeling, have given themselves over to lewdness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.

20 But you have not so learned Christ, 21 if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus: 22 that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, 23 and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, 24 and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness. (Ephesians 4:17-24)

Christians are to put off pagan ways, and live according to the truth, not longing for improper traditions.

Wiccan’s (witches) still keep Yule and teach the altar on Yule should face north and that the area is decorated with Holly and Mistletoe. They think that is good.

The foundation of Christmas is demonic paganism and lies.

Consider something else that Jesus had recorded:

14 Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city. 15 But outside are dogs and sorcerers and sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and whoever loves and practices a lie. (Revelation 22:14-15)

Which are you?

One who keeps God’s commandments or one who prefers to practice the idolatrous lie of Christmas?

Arguments for Christmas?

This sermon goes over four articles, two from Protestants and two from Roman Catholics, who give their reasons and arguments for why they feel that real Christians should observe the 25th of December as Christmas. The writers generally admit that Jesus was not born then, that the trappings of Christmas are pagan, the timing is pagan (it coincided with the pagan Saturnalia and the birthday of the sun god Mithras), and that Santa Claus is a lie. Dr. Thiel explains errors in their arguments, brings up scriptures, and points out that the Bible enjoins God’s Holy Days, that Christmas was not one of them, and that early Christians did not observe it. Dr. Thiel explains what the word ‘Christmas’ means, when it was first used, where it comes from, and why true believers would not wish to celebrate it. He also points out that its observance distorts God’s plan and that most who observe Christmas do not understand God’s plan of salvation.

Japan’s understanding of its Constitution just changed and some are concerned what they may mean:

Japan wants to act like a superpower and to be more aggressive militarily.  The USA originally had the Japanese Constitution written to prevent its military rise, and later encouraged Japan to change its to allow it to be more militaristic, which it did back in 2014 (see Japan changes to allow it to increase, as well as be more open, about its military developments).

With a more militaristic Japan in mind, notice the following:

Japan’s first export of lethal weapons was made immediately following the change, sending Patriot-guided missiles to the United States.

The missiles were previously manufactured in Japan under a US license.

The approval marks yet another step towards the full remilitarization of Japan, which was provided with a constitution renouncing its right to wage war by US occupying administrators following WWII. …

Japan will produce more of its weapons. It is interesting that US Patriot missiles are made in Japan. The USA is more and more relying on other nations, including ones that were once hostile to it, to manufacture some components of its military weapons and systems.

That said, Japan has less trust in the USA than it once had and now is going to more openly arm itself. North Korea and China do not like that. Japan took over Korea, much of China, and many of the islands in that part of the Pacific during WWII. There was a reason that the USA had earlier forced that Constitutional restriction upon Japan.

The USA is concerned about China and North Korea. And while it may hold back for a time because of North Korea, it is likely that the Biden Administration will conclude that Asia needs more military focus.

This is part of why the USA will not see what is prophetically happening in Europe–it will be focused on other than the main power that will defeat it. The current world order dominated by the USA, and formerly by the UK is being changed.

The Bible shows that the time of Jacob’s trouble (Jeremiah 30:7) is getting nearer–and that will greatly affect the USA, the UK, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand which have descendants from Jacob also known as Israel. They WILL be defeated by a European power per Daniel 8:24-25 and 11:39 (see also USA in Prophecy: The Strongest Fortresses).

The Bible also tells of the final time of the Gentiles. (Luke 21:23-24; Revelation 11:2), which means the time when the descendants of Israel will no longer dominate the world scene. We are getting closer to that time (see also When Will the Great Tribulation Begin?).

The Bible tells of a time when there will be a confederation of the ‘kings of the east’ that will get together:

12 Then the sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates, and its water was dried up, so that the way of the kings from the east might be prepared. 13 And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs coming out of the mouth of the dragon, out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet. 14 For they are spirits of demons, performing signs, which go out to the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.

15 “Behold, I am coming as a thief. Blessed is he who watches, and keeps his garments, lest he walk naked and they see his shame.”

16 And they gathered them together to the place called in Hebrew, Armageddon. (Revelation 16:12-16)

This will include Russia, China, Korea, AND Japan, and possibly even the Philippines. Things will one day dramatically change, militarily, in Asia, in terms of cooperation.

Notice also the following:

50:41 “Behold, a people shall come from the north,
And a great nation and many kings
Shall be raised up from the ends of the earth.
42 They shall hold the bow and the lance;
They are cruel and shall not show mercy.
Their voice shall roar like the sea;
They shall ride on horses,
Set in array, like a man for the battle,
Against you, O daughter of Babylon.

43 “The king of Babylon has heard the report about them,
And his hands grow feeble;
Anguish has taken hold of him,
Pangs as of a woman in childbirth…”(Jeremiah 50:41-43).

Russia is in the north. A confederation led by Russia and a great nation (seemingly China as it is the greatest nation in terms of population), and various others “from the ends of the earth” will get together. From the vantage point of the Middle East, Russia, China, and Japan are “from the ends of the earth,” as are many of the other nations in Asia.

Notice that one day, this will concern the “daughter of Babylon.” The end time Babylonian power, will be European (watch also Can You Prove that the Beast to Come is European? and Mystery Babylon USA, Mecca, or Rome?). It will one day be very concerned about what this force will do. This is also shown in other scriptures (cf. Daniel 11:44-45; see also The Eurasian Union, the Kings of the East, and Bible Prophecy).

I have also wondered for some time if Japan might end up with more territory, such as New Zealand (see the article Will the Anglo-Saxon Nations be Divided and Have People Taken as Slaves? and/or watch the video Will the USA and other Anglo-nations be Divided and Their People Made Slaves?).  We will see.

While the USA and UK (which control Gibraltar) have not yet launched a major attack against Iran, Iran is risking major damage. Furthermore, the European Union would not stand for the closure of the Mediterranean Sea. If Iran were to try to do that, it would be overplaying its hand and face massive consequences.

In October of 2022, I posted:

I have long believed that Iran is a threat that will one day be ‘neutralized’ (Jeremiah 49:34-38), as I believe it will overplay its hand. Its confidence in its drones and other military technologies will likely get it to take destructive actions that will result in severe retaliation. … Now as Isaiah 22 shows, Israel could very well be damaged by Iran before the the Great Tribulation begins. Iranian drones may well be a factor. (Thiel B. Iran, Drones, Ukraine, and Israel. COGwriter, October 21, 2022)

Political pressure in the USA is already growing for the USA to take military action against Iran for its support of the Houthis (which have launched scores of attacks against USA interests in the past couple of months) as well as Hezbollah. Iran will be neutralized relatively soon.

As far as Iran itself goes, it wants to lead all of Islam. It hopes by one day attacking Israel (according to a video it put out over a decade ago), it will get the rest of the Muslims to follow it. However, it will fail to become the leader of Islam– the Bible points to an Arabic power doing that in Daniel 11:40-43. Because of that, I have long felt that it may be that Iran would be ‘neutralized’ before the final King of the South (Daniel 11:40) rises up.

Iran could be also neutralized by internal unrest or other internal matters–and there is unrest in Iran. On the other hand, some of its military actions may well cause Israel, the USA, and/or others to turn on it and destroy aspects of its military capability. Such a deployment by Iran looks to be consistent with the following biblical prophecy:

5 For it is a day of trouble and treading down and perplexity By the Lord God of hosts In the Valley of Vision — Breaking down the walls And of crying to the mountain. 6 Elam bore the quiver With chariots of men and horsemen, And Kir uncovered the shield. 7 It shall come to pass that your choicest valleys Shall be full of chariots, And the horsemen shall set themselves in array at the gate. 8 He removed the protection of Judah. You looked in that day to the armor of the House of the Forest; 9 You also saw the damage to the city of David, That it was great; And you gathered together the waters of the lower pool. 10 You numbered the houses of Jerusalem, And the houses you broke down To fortify the wall. (Isaiah 22:5-10)

Elam is a reference to at least some in Iran. The old Worldwide Church of God published the following:

Iranians comprise nearly 70 percent of the country. Iranians, though Islamic, are totally distinct from the neighboring Arab peoples of the Middle East. They are a mixed people of the remnants of Media and Elam and other ancestors of Semitic and Hamitic stock. (Stump K. South Asia in Prophecy. Plain Truth, July/August 1986, p. 5)

As far as Kir goes, the Bible tells that after Tiglath-Pileser king of Assyria took over Damascus, he moved Syrians to Kir (2 Kings 16:9-10). God’s word has the expression “the Syrians from Kir” (Amos 9:7), which is basically confirmation that Kir of Isaiah 22 would include Syrians. The Bible also tells of a time when Kir will be destroyed (Isaiah 15:1b) and also says that Syria’s capital Damascus will be destroyed (Isaiah 17:1). While this does not mean that Kir must (or must only) be a reference to Syria, the fact that Syria is an ally of Iran is interesting.

In Isaiah 22: 8, “Judah” is a reference to those in the land commonly called Israel–God will allow Israel to be attacked and greatly damaged! In Isaiah 22:9, consider that “the damage to the city of David” is a reference to at least part of Jerusalem. This, in turn, would be expected to result in a massive Israeli, possibly with US involvement, attack against Iran and its allies, like Syria.

Israel’s famed ‘Iron Dome’ will NOT stop the coming great damage that will hit Jerusalem, despite Israeli confidence. Perhaps Syria will be involved to somehow reduce its effectiveness when it “uncovered the shield.”

If so, Israel will not like that and would be expected to retaliate.

Now as Isaiah 22 shows, Israel could very well be damaged by Iran before the Great Tribulation begins. Iran likely will employ some drones in that attack.

Iran and Israel Conflict

European Union foreign policy chief, Josep Borrel, has been brokering the nuclear negotiations involving Iran and said that he thinks the deal is “in danger.” Iran blames the United States, whereas the USA says they are not delaying it. Israeli sources stated that Israel will stop Iran from getting a nuclear bomb. Joe Biden says the USA would use its own military power to prevent Iran from getting such a bomb if need be. In 2021, Iranian lawmakers have submitted a bill seeking the government by law to commit to Israel’s destruction by the year 2040. Does the 22nd chapter of Isaiah point to damage coming to Israel from Iran and possibly Syria? Might Iran be concerned enough about limited progress with the USA to launch some type of attack? Is Iran the prophesied ‘King of the South’? Is it reasonable to think that the prophesied peace deal of Daniel 9:27 will not happen until after a military conflict. like a regional war? As far as various prophecies go, let me also state that it may take a major regional war for the coming temporal ‘peace deal’ of Daniel 9:27 to be ratified. Iran, Syria, and Israel may one day be in a major regional war in the future. The USA could also be affected.

We are in the time Jesus referred to as “the beginning of sorrows,” as it appears that two or three of the four horseman of the Apocalypse have begun their rides.

In addition to “rumors of war,” we should expect more wars as Jesus warned in Matthew 24:6.

The increase is more than two times larger than the 21.3% that the CDC now estimates the strain made up of infections for the week ending Dec. 9, after Thanksgiving.

Among regions with enough data reported from testing labs to produce these latest projections, the CDC estimates that JN.1’s prevalence is largest in the Northeast region spanning New Jersey and New York, where the strain is 56.9% of cases in those states.

“JN.1’s continued growth suggests that the variant is either more transmissible or better at evading our immune systems than other circulating variants. It is too early to know whether or to what extent JN.1 will cause an increase in infections or hospitalizations,” the CDC said Friday. …

Not getting vaccinated does not cause people to get the flu or COVID. Furthermore, as we saw during COVID, the so-called “vaccines” (the RNA shots were different from what previously were called vaccines) did not work as the public was told.

Before there were any cases of COVID reportedly in the USA, I put out a video warning about superbugs and not relying on antibiotics and overhyped vaccines. However, YouTube removed it as “dangerous,” not because it was inaccurate, but because that was not a narrative it did not want people to know about. We had put up, on November 16, 2019, a video on YouTube with the following description:

The US Centers for Disease Control (CDC) released a report in November 2019 that stated that an American died every 15 minutes from an antibiotic-resistant infection. It reported that an additional one dies about every 45 minutes from Clostridioides difficile. Another CDC report warned of the superbug Candida auris. In China, two recently died of the pneumonic plague, whereas in May 2019, to Mongolians died from the bubonic plague after eating a rodent kidney. Dr. Thiel explained that the flu is often associated with pigs and the Ebola virus from eating fruit bats. He also cited scriptures about which animals God said could be eaten and some of which should be avoided. Dr. Thiel also went over an NPR report which stated that more who get the live polio vaccine are paralyzed from that type of polio than the ‘wild’ kind. Dr. Thiel explains some scriptures about preventing disease as well as those that show that humans will not sufficiently repent and solve infectious disease problems before Jesus returns.

Even though I cited appropriate sources, it was unceremoniously censored and removed by YouTube sometime in 2022. However, because we do not trust Big Tech in general, nor YouTube in particular, we already had it up on other platforms, so it is still available. Anyway, what I said was true back in 2019 and remains true today.

Why mention that here?

Well, one of the reasons that many people benefit from taking probiotic supplements is that they help replenish the intestinal flora, particularly for people who take antibiotics. The antiobiotics often destroy the probiotics, hence taking probiotic supplements can help such people.

That said, if people do what the Bible says, and “eat what is good” (Isaiah 55:2), they tend to have sufficient intestinal flora and probably do not need to also take probiotic supplements. For what it’s worth, I did not take any probiotic supplements during the pandemic, nor did I ever get COVID.

I did, however, take other immune supporting steps. Plus, also made a video titled: COVID-19: Eat what is good!

YouTube also censored that and sent the following in an email.

This was outrageous, but with much of the media being biased against the truth, such things happen.

The video did not provide medical misinformation.

It states that there are things other than just vaccines that pubic health officials should be promoting.

Here is what I wrote as my appeal to YouTube:

In science, there are facts, opinions, and positions in-between. The science on COVID-19 is not settled and suppression of information does not serve science. Diverse views push science ahead. I am a scientist who holds a Ph.D. and a scientist license by the State of Alabama, plus have papers published in the NIH medical database called PubMed. The US Center for Allergies and Infectious Disease twice concluded that my nutritional protocols against viruses had “significant scientific merit.” My video did not tell people to not get vaccinated. What it did was offer hope and alternatives to just living in fear by listing steps that public health officials should have also taken. Removing the video will hurt lives as there are steps people can take related to COVID-19 other than only vaccines. Please reinstate.

Note that YouTube limits appeals to 800 characters–the above used all 800 so that was all I could basically tell them at this stage.

Sadly, YouTube and much of the media push an agenda that is often anti-biblical and anti-scientific.

The good news is that years before this happened, when I saw that YouTube was effectively ‘shadow banning’ our videos, we in the CCOG decided to go on additional platforms.

COVID-19: Eat what is good!

US President Joe Biden said on 2/19/21 that the USA may NOT “return to normal” in 2021 because of vaccine and mutation issues. Is there another approach? Would it make sense to improve nutrition to strengthen the immune system and to help people with COVID-19? What about zinc, selenium, vitamin C, and vitamin D? What about avoiding unclean meats? What about eating more fruits and vegetables and items such as pumpkin seeds and Brazil nuts? What about eating bovine glandulars? What about herbs? Could fasting help? What about exercise and sunlight? What about masks, lockdowns, junk food, obesity, and weight gain? The suppression of truth by YouTube and others brought the following scriptures to mind:

1 But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: (2 Timothy 3:1)

The ride of the fourth horseman of the Apocalypse (Revelation 6:7-8) will result in the deaths of one-fourth of humanity, and death by diseases is part of this.

So, we look to see steps that will lead to that soon. Vaccines will not prevent this from happening.

COVID 19 is NOT the End, but could it be TEOTWAWKI? The novel coronavirus called COVID-19 is wreaking havoc around the world. Many states of the USA as well as countries in Europe are on lockdown with shelter in place /shelter in residence requirements. In France, a form is required when you are not at your house. In Spain, drones are being used to warn people who are outside to got back to their homes–does that bring up feelings of ‘Big Brother’? Italy, France, and other areas are using police and/or military force to encourage people to stay inside. According to the Bible could this be the end? If not, what has to happen first? Biological Warfare and Prophecy. Is biological warfare possible? Was it prophesied? Scientists have long warned that pathogenic organisms like the coronavirus could be weaponized. Furthermore, back in 2017, there were concerns that the biological research facility being constructed in Wuhan, China was risky and that a coronavirus from it could be released. On January 25, 2020, China’s President Xi Jinping publicly stated that the situation with the Wuhan-related strain of the coronavirus was grave. Did Church of God writers like the late evangelist Raymond McNair warn that engineered viruses (the “Doomsday bug”) were consistent with prophecies from Jesus? Did a warning from CCOG leader Bob Thiel warn about risks of genetically-modified (GMO) mosquitoes come to pass? Could human research and/or the consumption of biblically-unclean animals such as bats and snakes be a factor in current outbreaks or coming future pestilences? What about famines? We continue to see concerns raised related to Artificial Intelligence (AI):

On one side, we have former Google scientist Dr. Geoffrey Hinton warning that we’re going too fast and AIs could ruin everything from jobs to truth.  On the other side, we find Meta’s Yann LeCun. …

LeCun’s argument, which in its TLDR form is something making to, “Don’t worry, embrace AI,” … Is less regulation, more open source, and a firmer embrace of AI mediation the path forward to a safer future? It is not the individual use of AI for search engine purposes that we need to be too worried about (though they do currently have limitations and often obscure truth), it is governmental use to control populations, eliminate privacy, etc. And those of us who believe Bible prophecy can see how AI is likely to be used by the Beast and final Antichrist power.

But before getting to that, notice some scientific items that the journal Nature says to watch out for in 2024:

The rise of ChatGPT had a profound effect on science this year. Its creator, OpenAI in San Francisco, California, is expected to release GPT-5, the next generation of the artificial intelligence (AI) model that underpins the chatbot, late next year. GPT-5 is likely to showcase more advanced capabilities than those of its predecessor, GPT-4. Scientists are also watching the rollout of Gemini, Google’s GPT-4 competitor. …

Big questions loom on the regulatory front. The United Nations High-Level Advisory Body on Artificial Intelligence will share its final report in mid-2024, laying down guidelines for the international regulation of AI. …

Weaponized mosquitoes

The World Mosquito Program will start producing disease-fighting mosquitoes at a factory in Brazil next year. …

Beyond the pandemic

As the world moves past the emergency phase of the COVID-19 pandemic, the US government is funding trials of three next-generation vaccines, two of which are intranasal vaccines that aim to prevent infection by generating immunity in airway tissues. …

Meanwhile, the World Health Organization is due to unveil final draft of its pandemic treaty during the 77th World Health Assembly in May. The accord seeks to better equip governments worldwide to prevent and manage future pandemics. …

Illuminating dark matter

Results of an experiment to detect dark-matter particles known as axions will see light in 2024. … The experiment BabyIAXO at the German Electron Synchrotron in Hamburg is using a solar telescope made of a 10-metre-long magnet and ultra-sensitive noise-free X-ray detectors to track the centre of the Sun for 12 hours per day, to capture the conversion of axions into photons. …

Super-fast supercomputers

As far as weaponizing mosquitoes goes, there are often unintended consequences when scientists have done that in the past. I warned about risks from an earlier attempt to do something related, and sadly facts ended up confirming my warning (see Scientists confirm COGwriter GMO mosquito warning).

I first reported about the release of GMOs mosquitoes on July 28, 2018. Here are some of my posted warnings.

Mosquitoes can carry and spread many diseases.

But releasing genetically-modified ones into the wild presents unknown risks.

One assumption that scientists have tended to make with genetically-modified organisms (GMOs) is that if they do not see any dangers, then there are none. That is foolish, yet that continues to be the view of the pro-GMO crowd.

While there certainly are risks associated with contracting the Zika virus (see Zika is more dangerous than many thought; USA has its first Zika death), this ‘solution’ poses risks to various parts of the ecosystem as well as the possibility that some of the offspring produced will have greater longevity as opposed to greatly reduced longevity.

The vast quantity of mosquito offspring increases the possibility that there will be some that have the opposite traits that the GMO crowd is hoping to get. And if this occurs, this could cause much greater problems than the GMO ‘solution’ was supposed to fix. …

Then a year later, someone tipped me off to the following report:

Deadly ‘super mosquitoes that are even tougher’ accidentally created by scientists after bungled experiment

GENETICALLY modified mosquitoes that were designed by scientists to help populations decrease are actually thriving.

This is according to new research that claims the plan to create gene-hacked mosquitoes that have offspring which die immediately has spectacularly backfired and now scientists don’t know what will happen next.

The modified mosquitoes were released in Jacobina in Brazil and were supposed to mix with the local population and decrease numbers with their weak offspring genetics.

Although the wild population did plummet for a short while, 18 months later it was right back up again.

This is mostly concerning because scientists think the new ‘super mosquitoes’ have properties that might make them harder to kill.

Research about the pests has been published in the journal Nature Scientific Reports. …

Mosquitoes like the Aedes aegypti variety that was edited can carry dangerous diseases like yellow fever, Zika virus and Malaria.

This is why efforts are being made to reduce their numbers.

However, now traces of the genetically modified genes have been found in the natural population.

This means they are successfully interbreeding. …

The offspring of the gene-hacked mosquitoes and the natural ones are thought to be more robust but whether they pose a threat is unknown.

Researcher Jeffrey Powell told News Atlas: “It is the unanticipated outcome that is concerning.” https://www.thesun.co.uk/tech/9947305/deadly-super-mosquitoes-accidentally-created/

So, scientists were concerned about “the unanticipated outcome.” Having mosquitoes that are “more robust” makes them harder to kill and, thus tends to increase their longevity.

This does not mean that there cannot be any success in 2024, as this time I suspect there may be, but such interventions carry more risks than the public tends to be told. There are also biblical prophecies about pestilences.

That brings us to the development of the RNA vaccines. The fact is that they were not as good as the public was told related to COVID-19. Furthermore, since Jesus said we would have pestilences (Matthew 24:7) and much death is associated with the ride of the fourth horseman of the Apocalypse (Revelation 6:7-8), I do not believe that vaccines can possibly save humanity from what is coming–though some vaccines do help some people. Furthermore, let me state that the “pandemic treaty” that the World Health Organization wants to get adopted is another step toward globalist control and loss of individual freedom.

As far as “dark matter” goes, here is some information on dark matter from CERN, the group responsible for the Large Hadron Collider project:

Dark matter

Unlike normal matter, dark matter does not interact with the electromagnetic force. This means it does not absorb, reflect or emit light, making it extremely hard to spot. In fact, researchers have been able to infer the existence of dark matter only from the gravitational effect it seems to have on visible matter. Dark matter seems to outweigh visible matter roughly six to one, making up about 26% of all the matter in the universe. Here’s a sobering fact: The matter we know and that makes up all stars and galaxies only accounts for 4% of the content of the universe! But what is dark matter? One idea is that it could contain “supersymmetric particles” – hypothesized particles that are partners to those already known in the Standard Model. Experiments at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) may provide more direct clues about dark matter.

Many theories say the dark matter particles would be light enough to be produced at the LHC. If they were created at the LHC, they would escape through the detectors unnoticed. However, they would carry away energy and momentum, so physicists could infer their existence from the amount of energy and momentum “missing” after a collision. http://home.web.cern.ch/about/physics/dark-matter

Perhaps dark matter will be used for stealth jets and/or missiles and/or hiding military facilities. I do not believe that all possible uses of it will be peaceful.

The work being done in at the LHC facility is mainly for Europe (CERN is the European Organization for Nuclear Research) and has destructive potential. Note also that Nature referred to research being done at the German Electron Synchrotron in Hamburg, which of course, is also in and for Europe. Additionally, the name of the experiment, BabyIAXO, brings to mind the biblical warnings about “Mystery Babylon the Great” of Revelation 17 and 18.

As far as Europe goes, the fact of its coming supercomputer has prophetic potential. I warned about the Jupiter computer in 2022, when the Europeans hoped it would be online in 2023 (see Europe taking the lead with exascale supercomputers–could these support 666 control of buying and selling?).

The prophet Daniel was told to write:

4 … the time of the end; many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase. (Daniel 12:4)

Supercomputers should help increase knowledge.

However supercomputers, particularly when combined with advances in Artificial Intelligence, look to be something that will be used by the coming European Beast power to control buying and selling (Revelation 13:16-18) as well as to enforce other edicts of the Beast and the final Antichrist (e.g. Revelation 13:15).

Much is happening and privacy, financial and otherwise, is being lost.

Europe wants to control AI, and to a degree it will.

While it is putting restrictions and regulations in place related to it (see EU (European Union) provisionally agrees first AI (Artificial Intelligence) regulations–666 prelude?), do not believe that human rights will be properly protected, no matter what these proposed rules may indicate.

The Bible shows that massive improper censorship is coming:

11 “Behold, the days are coming,” says the Lord God,
“That I will send a famine on the land,
Not a famine of bread,
Nor a thirst for water,
But of hearing the words of the Lord.
12 They shall wander from sea to sea,
And from north to east;
They shall run to and fro, seeking the word of the Lord,
But shall not find it.  (Amos 8:11-12)

Artificial Intelligence will be involved in pulling proper religious content off the internet.

AI will also be used to persuade and deceive people (e.g., watch also Artificial Intelligence Superhuman Persuasion?).

We also know that financial controls are coming to Europe. The Apostle John was told by Jesus to write the following:

15 He was granted power to give breath to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak and cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed. 16 He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, 17 and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

18 Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man: His number is 666. (Revelation 13:15-18)

Arguments for Christmas?

This sermon goes over four articles, two from Protestants and two from Roman Catholics, who give their reasons and arguments for why they feel that real Christians should observe the 25th of December as Christmas. The writers generally admit that Jesus was not born then, that the trappings of Christmas are pagan, the timing is pagan (it coincided with the pagan Saturnalia and the birthday of the sun god Mithras), and that Santa Claus is a lie. At the bloc’s 2023 annual summit, the BRICS alliance announced a landmark six-country expansion effort. Subsequently, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Iran, Argentina, Egypt, and Ethiopia received invitations. Now, India’s Minister of External Affairs recently confirmed that BRICS is set for another six-country expansion plan in 2024.

Speaking at an event this week, Subrahmanyam Jaishankar confirmed that the BRICS bloc has already agreed on an extension for the next time the bloc meets in full. During a meeting on December 21 with his Chinese counterpart, Li Qiang, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin declared that Western currencies have almost been completely eliminated for Russia-China trade, as nearly all payments between the countries are now conducted in rubles and yuan.

The Russian PM made these remarks during a two-day visit to Beijing for a scheduled meeting of Russian and Chinese heads of government.

We continue to increase the share of national currencies in mutual settlements. Russia and the rest of the BRICS nations have been conducting more cross-border trade in their own currencies and less with the USA dollar and the Euro.  As I wrote years ago, there is a cost to USA sanctions, and the time will come when the USA dollar is worth no more than its nostalgic or scrap value.

BRICS will impact the West, but it will mainly push against Anglo-American dominance.

I believe that the situation for the USA will be much worse than just complications. There will be massive inflation–and ultimately hyperinflation. When the USA dollar loses its dominance, in time, it will be a disaster beyond what most people would be willing to imagine (cf. Habkkuk 2:6-8).

Daniel Bobinksi is right that it will be a financial earthquake on a magnitude the USA has never seen.

In the mail a dozen years ago, I recently received an unsolicited infomercial booklet written by Dr. Martin Weiss titled American Apocalypse. Here is some of what it said (bolding mine):

What is the the historic, life-changing, world-changing event that is also about to vaporize massive amounts of wealth and potentially threaten our liberties right here in the United States of America?

It’s the singular moment in time when the last investor willing to loan money to the government calls it quits.

It’s when the government can no longer borrow and simply runs out of money…I’m talking about a sudden, rejection of U.S. debt by the world’s investors…

Hunger and homelessness explode…riots…crime skyrockets…cities burn…

I’m under no delusion here.  I know that the vast majority of Americans will fail to heed this warning and fail to get ready for this crisis. (Weiss MD.  American Apocalypse.  Weiss Research, October 2011, pp. 30, 36, 42)

The situation is at least that dire.

The USA will have MASSIVE inflation and the economy will never fully recover as creditors will rise up and eliminate the USA per Habakkuk 2:

6 “Will not all these take up a proverb against him,
And a taunting riddle against him, and say,
‘Woe to him who increases
What is not his — how long?
And to him who loads himself with many pledges’?
7 Will not your creditors rise up suddenly?
Will they not awaken who oppress you?
And you will become their booty.
8 Because you have plundered many nations,
All the remnant of the people shall plunder you,
Because of men’s blood
And the violence of the land and the city,
And of all who dwell in it. (Habakkuk 2:6-8)

The most indebted nation of all time is the USA. The above is NOT referring to the tiny nation of Israel as it does not have enemy creditors–this is an end time prophecy for the USA.

Notice, like Martin Weiss warned, foreign creditors at some point in time will rise up quickly.

I saw a chart a couple of days ago that showed that the USA had about 1/3 of all the global government debt (see https://www.zerohedge.com/markets/world-sitting-powder-keg-debt). Yet, with only 4.25% of the world’s population, the USA is massively in debt.

Now, let’s back up a few verses in Habakkuk 2:

2 Then the Lord answered me and said:

“Write the vision
And make it plain on tablets,
That he may run who reads it.
3 For the vision is yet for an appointed time;
But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie.
Though it tarries, wait for it;
Because it will surely come,
It will not tarry. (Habakkuk 2:2-3)

Many have become complacent with the increasingly rising USA debt. While its destruction for it has still tarried, that will change. Hopefully, Christians realize the seriousness of the warning God’s prophet Habakkuk was inspired to write.

The BRICS nations see the USA debt risk and despise USA sanction policies. They clearly want to topple the dominance of the US and its dollar (as do the Europeans, which is part of why they came out with the Euro).

Those in Iran and some of the Arab lands, along with nations such as Brazil, China, and India have discussed plans for the removal of the dominance of the U.S.A. in global trade as well. The former (again current) President of Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, even claimed that eliminating the U.S. dollar’s reserve currency status was one of the reasons that the BRICS alliance (Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa) was formed in the first place. [i] Others have  noted that bypassing the USA dollar is still an object of BRICS—and officially BRICS nations “are currently working on setting up a new global reserve currency,”[ii] which may have gold-backing.[iii] The expansion of BRICS (which is in progress) may ultimately even hurt Australian trade as well as “severely weaken primacy of the US Dollar as an international currency.”[iv]

The Bible clearly warns against cheapening the money supply and encourages having money hold its value (Proverbs 25:4 Isaiah 1:25, Ezekiel 22:18-22). Debt is also warned against (Habakkuk 2:6-8). Yet policies enacted under the Obama, Trump, and Biden Administrations, following certain other administrations, have ignored these warnings.

One day the US dollar will be toppled. But let me add that the Bible teaches that a coming European power will accumulate gold too (cf. Daniel 11:38,43; see also The Plain Truth About Gold in Prophecy. How Should a Christian View Gold?).

Based upon several biblical prophecies, I have long written that the Asians and Europeans will cooperate, for a time, and eliminate the USA and its Anglo-Saxon descended allies. They will divide their lands among them per Daniel 11:39, and many of the survivors will be made slaves (for more details check out the article Will the Anglo-Saxon Nations be Divided and Have People Taken as Slaves?).

It should be added that part of the purpose of the Euro was to bypass the USA dollar for international trade. And, that has happened completely within the Eurozone block in the EU.

Steps towards pushing away the Anglo-American dominance of the world for the past couple of centuries is happening.

Although BRICS will not dominate the world economically like the coming European Beast power will, the BRICS nations and their actions will have major impacts on the world.

BRICS Push Aside USA Dollar

The BRICS nations (Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa) have as one of their founding goals, to eliminate the need to use USA dollars in cross-border trade. Six additional nations have been invited to join BRICS in 2024, and India reports that six more are also being looked at. The BRICS nations have already began to drop the USA dollar for some cross-border trading with Russia and China indicating that they had almost done so completely in late 2023.
