There is a list of pontiffs that an Irish bishop named Malachy put together in the 12th century. Over a decade ago, I bought a copy of the book shown above related to the Malachy predictions of 112 future popes.

Though various Roman Catholics believe that the list was divinely inspired, and this also seems to have been the position of the Protestant prophetic writer Hal Lindsey, many (including this author) do not believe that the list was from God. Many make light of the list for a variety of reasons.

Even the expression “malarkey” seems to have originated as a derivative of the word Malachy, possibly because of how some viewed Malachy’s writings. Malarkey signifies worthlessness.

Yet, his list has been remarkably accurate–though one has to include a few “antipopes” for it to work.

I have long believed that the list was demonically-inspired–hence I do not rely on it.

According to the 12th-century book credited to Irish bishop Saint Malachy, it’s going to take place in 2027.  …

The book contains a series of Latin phrases in 112 mysterious sections which purport to predict the Catholic popes, beginning with Celestine II up to the Church’s current leader.

One passage, attributed to Pope Sixtus V, reads: “Axle in the midst of a sign”.

Pope Sixtus’ tenure began 442 years after the first Pope’s rule, and the passage suggests he is in the ‘middle’ of the papal lineage – thus indicating the end of the world would come 442 years later, in 2027.

The last passage of the book reads: “In the final persecution of the Holy Roman Church there will reign Peter the Roman, who will feed his flock amid many tribulations, after which the seven-hilled city will be destroyed, and the dreadful Judge will judge the people. The End.”

The “seven-hilled city” refers to Rome and some interpret the last passage as Peter taking over as the Pope from Francis due to the latter’s chronic lung disease, making Francis the last Pope. https://www.euronews.com/culture/2025/03/14/900-year-old-vatican-doomsday-prophecy-resurfaces-amid-pope-francis-illness

First, let me state that because of signs Jesus said to look for in the 24th chapter of the Book of Matthew, we can be sure that the end will NOT come in 2027 as that is much too soon. However, the last pope could be in place that year.

Second, the idea that the year Pope Sixtus V began as pontiff is not necessarily relevant in the Malachy list. Nor is the number of years to get to 2027 necessarily relevant.

That said, while Pope Francis could be considered as number 112 on the Malachy list as he followed number 111, who was Benedict XVI. Yet, because Benedict XVI was alive when Francis became the Roman Catholic pontiff, some have said that Francis does not count, hence there is another pontiff to come after Francis.

Of course, many Roman Catholics believe that Francis is the legitimate successor of Benedict.

On the Malachy list, the pope after the one believed to be Benedict XVI is listed as the last one.

Now there are several similarities between the prophecy of Bishop Malachy related to the last pope and statements in the chapter 17 of the Book of Revelation (also known as the Apocalypse).

Let us look at the entire prediction of the final pope by Bishop Malachy as reported in The Catholic Encyclopedia:

“In the final persecution of the Holy Roman Church there will reign Peter the Roman, who will feed his flock amid many tribulations, after which the seven-hilled city will be destroyed and the dreadful Judge will judge the people. The End.”

Now let us notice that the Bible warns about something happening in the end time that is consistent with parts of the Malachy prophecy.

1 And there came one of the seven angels, who had the seven vials, and spoke with me, saying: Come, I will shew thee the condemnation of the great harlot, who sitteth upon many waters, 2 With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication; and they who inhabit the earth, have been made drunk with the whine of her whoredom.

3 And he took me away in spirit into the desert. And I saw a woman sitting upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.  4 And the woman was clothed round about with purple and scarlet, and gilt with gold, and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand, full of the abomination and filthiness of her fornication.  5 And on her forehead a name was written: A mystery; Babylon the great, the mother of the fornications, and the abominations of the earth.  6 And I saw the woman drunk with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus. And I wondered, when I had seen her, with great admiration.

7 And the angel said to me: Why dost thou wonder? I will tell thee the mystery of the woman, and of the beast which carrieth her, which hath the seven heads and ten horns.  8 The beast, which thou sawest, was, and is not, and shall come up out of the bottomless pit, and go into destruction: and the inhabitants on the earth (whose names are not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world) shall wonder, seeing the beast that was, and is not.

9 And here is the understanding that hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, upon which the woman sitteth, and they are seven kings:  10 Five are fallen, one is, and the other is not yet come: and when he is come, he must remain a short time.  11 And the beast which was, and is not: the same also is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into destruction.

12 And the ten horns which thou sawest, are ten kings, who have not yet received a kingdom, but shall receive power as kings one hour after the beast. 13 These have one design: and their strength and power they shall deliver to the beast.  14 These shall fight with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them, because he is Lord of lords, and King of kings, and they that are with him are called, and elect, and faithful.

15 And he said to me: The waters which thou sawest, where the harlot sitteth, are peoples, and nations, and tongues.  16 And the ten horns which thou sawest in the beast: these shall hate the harlot, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and shall burn her with fire.  17 For God hath given into their hearts to do that which pleaseth him: that they give their kingdom to the beast, till the words of God be fulfilled.

18 And the woman which thou sawest, is the great city, which hath kingdom over the kings of the earth.  (Revelation 17:1-18, DRB)

In both Malachy’s list and the Book of Revelation we see:

1. Reference to the city of seven hills/mountains.
2. The destruction of the city of seven hills/mountains.
3. The end of a power in Rome.
4. Persecution.
5. Troubles/tribulations on the earth.
6. A type of judgment.
7. Events for the end time.

The persecution that the Bible tells of is of the truly faithful (Revelation 17:6 and seemingly others per 17:16-17). And the judgment that the Bible shows will happen, will also come from God (Revelation 17:1,14; cf. 6:10; 18:10).

While Malachy himself seemed to indicate that his list included all the future popes, it should be noted that decades ago, Peter Bander (author of the book shown at the beginning of this post) wrote that Malachy’s list could allow that there would be other popes, not on the list, prior to the last one. Roman Catholic writers have long written that there could be other popes between Gloria olivæ (number 111) and the last one:

Some medieval interpreters have gone out of their way to stress that Malachy in his prophecies does not specifically mention that no Popes reign between Gloria Olivae and the last Petrus Romanus; nor on the other hand does he mention that there will be others. (Bander P. The Prophecies of St. Malachy. Originally written in 1969. TAN Books reprint, Rockford (IL), 1973)

It has been noticed concerning Petrus Romanus, who according to St. Malachy’s list is to be the last pope, that the prophecy does not say that no popes will intervene between him and his predecessor designated Gloria olivæ. It merely says that he is to be the last, so that we may suppose as many popes as we please before “Peter the Roman”.(Devine, Arthur. “Prophecy.” The Catholic Encyclopedia. Vol. 12. Nihil Obstat. So, the above does give the Malachy list supporters “wiggle room” for there to be a pope after Francis.

Notice also:

Priest Gaudentius Rossi (19th century): According to St. Malachy, then, only ten, or at most eleven, popes remain to be in future more or less legitimately elected. We say more or less legitimately elected, because out of those future popes it is to be feared that one or two will be unlawfully elected as anti-popes.(Rossi, Gaudentius. There have not been any recognized “antipopes” since Felix V’s time in 1439-1449.  Thus, if Priest Rossi’s understanding on those points is correct, it would seem then that the last pope on Malachy’s list would be an anti-pope as there are no others left on the Malachy list. The Bible tells of the final Antichrist (1 John 2:18, 4:1-3), who would also be the false prophet that Revelation 16:13 warns against.

Jesus warned that “many false prophets would arise and deceive many” (Matthew 24:11).

The Apostle Paul warns that “Satan” tries to “take advantage of us,” yet Christians “are not ignorant of his devices” (2 Corinthians 2:11).

So, despite certain accuracy of the Malachy list, we need to be on guard that we are not deceived that the list is from God or that those on the list are God’s represents on the earth.

It seems that the False Prophet (like most other Roman Catholic bishops have) may claim (based more on tradition than fact) that there was an unbroken succession of bishops in Rome from Peter onwards, that there have been bishops of Rome from the 2nd through 21st centuries (which is essentially true, though some were in France), and that since Malachy’s list has somewhat accurately predicted every pope since the middle of the 12th century (which is not quite true as the list includes what Roman Catholics would consider to be false or “antipopes” without indicating that most of them would be false), that therefore the final changed Roman Catholic Church is the one true Christian faith (and although none should believe that, though many will).

Furthermore, Satan very well could have influenced the voting for Francis to add at least one extra pontiff between numbers 111 and 112 on the list.

Whether or not Pope Francis could be the last pope, the fact is that the one that is the last pope on the Malachy list seems to be warned against in the Holy Bible.

The ecumenical, inter-faith, and economic agenda of Pope Francis is consistent with him being an antipope. But he, still, does not have to be the last one, though if he is counted, he is #112 on Malachy’s list. Nor has Pope Francis the type of signs and wonders that would point to him being the False Prophet of Revelation 13:11-15 and 16:13.

Notice the following Roman Catholic prophecies:

Bl. Anna-Maria Taigi (19th Century) … St. Peter and St. Paul, having come down from Heaven, will preach in the whole world and designate a new Pope. A great light will flash from their bodies and will settle upon the cardinal who is to become Pope. Christianity, then, will spread throughout the world. He is the Holy Pontiff, chosen by God to withstand the storm. At the end, he will have the gift of miracles, and his name shall be praised over the whole earth (Birch DA. Trial, Tribulation & Triumph: Before During and After Antichrist. Queenship Publishing Company, Goleta (CA), 1996, pp. 362-363).

Abbott Joachim (died 1202): A man of remarkable sanctity will be his successor in the Pontifical chair.  Through him God will work so many prodigies that all men shall revere him. (Connor Edward. Prophecy for Today. Imprimatur + A.J. Willinger, Bishop of Monterey-Fresno; Reprint: Tan Books and Publishers, Rockford (IL), 1984, pp. 31-33)

Prodigies means miraculous signs an wonders. The pontiff sounds like the one warned against in the Book of Revelation. Unless we see such from Francis, he clearly is not fulfilling Roman Catholic prophecy as the last pope.

Furthermore, consider that some believe that Francis may not be the legitimate successor of Benedict. So, if Francis is not counted in the Malachy list, the one who comes after him may be.

If so, he looks prophesied by Roman Catholics to be an antipope, and the one we in the CCOG would suspect may be the final biblical antichrist.

We will see.

But the end WILL NOT be in 2027.

The United States President and the US Department of Justice have labeled incidents against Tesla dealerships to be domestic terrorism:

DoJ says attacks on Tesla stores are ‘domestic terrorism’ as more incidents emerge

The Department of Justice is pursuing perpetrators of attacks against Tesla property, calling them “nothing short of domestic terrorism,” as more incidents were reported this week.

Attorney General Pam Bondi said in a short statement on Tuesday night that the DoJ had charged multiple suspects, including some with crimes that carry mandatory minimum sentences of five years.

“We will continue investigations that impose severe consequences on those involved in these attacks, including those operating behind the scenes to coordinate and fund these crimes,” she said. …

Las Vegas police said in a Tuesday briefing that at least five Teslas were destroyed after a suspect set cars on fire and fired at least three rounds on a Tesla store on Badura Avenue early Tuesday in what they called a “targeted attack.” The word “resist” was spray-painted across the storefront, police added.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk said in an X post on Tuesday night, “This level of violence is insane and deeply wrong. Tesla just makes electric cars and has done nothing to deserve these evil attacks.”

On Tuesday evening, FBI Kansas City said it was working with Kansas City Police to investigate an incident in which Tesla Cybertrucks were damaged at a Tesla deader. Two Cybertrucks caught fire, the Kansas City Star reported.

US President Donald Trump claimed that recent arson attacks on Tesla vehicles across the country could be acts of “domestic political terrorism” driven by ‘left-wing operatives’. His remarks came during a segment on The Ingraham Angle Tuesday night. The conversation with Fox News host Laura Ingraham touched on the incident of five Tesla set on fire in Las Vegas. When pressed by Ingraham on whether he considers these attacks an act of domestic terrorism, Trump responded, “I think so,” adding that he believes the perpetrators may be linked to politically motivated groups on the left. “The good thing is they have a lot of cameras in those places, and they’ve caught some already having to do with that,” Trump said, adding, “I think that you will find out that they’re paid by people that are very highly political on the left.” Trump also praised Tesla CEO Elon Musk, describing him as a “patriot” https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/world/us/attacks-on-tesla-domestic-terrorism-paid-by-highly-political-on-the-left-says-donald-trump/articleshow/119187581.cms

The Apostle Paul was inspired to write:

1 But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, (2 Timothy 3:1-3)

Notice also the following generational warnings:

11 There is a generation that curses its father,
And does not bless its mother.
12 There is a generation that is pure in its own eyes,
Yet is not washed from its filthiness.
13 There is a generation — oh, how lofty are their eyes!
And their eyelids are lifted up.
14 There is a generation whose teeth are like swords,
And whose fangs are like knives, (Proverbs 30:11-14)

5 “They have corrupted themselves;
They are  … A perverse and crooked generation.  (Deuteronomy 32:5)

Yes, we a seeing a generation like that.

Of course, it is not just those involved in pushing drugs.

Furthermore, the Bible says:

23 ‘Make a chain,
For the land is filled with crimes of blood,
And the city is full of violence. (Ezekiel 7:23)

28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting; 29 being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality…30…violent, proud, boasters,…31…unmerciful; 32 who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them. (Romans 1:28-32)

8 … And the violence of the land and the city, And of all who dwell in it. (Habakkuk 2:8)

Notice that God inspired Isaiah to write:

8 Now go, write it before them on a tablet,
And note it on a scroll,
That it may be for time to come,
Forever and ever:
9 That this is a rebellious people,
Lying children,
Children who will not hear the law of the Lord;
10 Who say to the seers, “Do not see,”
And to the prophets, “Do not prophesy to us right things;
Speak to us smooth things, prophesy deceits.
11 Get out of the way,
Turn aside from the path,
Cause the Holy One of Israel
To cease from before us.”

12 Therefore thus says the Holy One of Israel:

“Because you despise this word,
And trust in oppression and perversity,
And rely on them,
13 Therefore this iniquity shall be to you
Like a breach ready to fall,
A bulge in a high wall,
Whose breaking comes suddenly, in an instant. (Isaiah 30:8-13)

The above is applicable to much of the USA.

More and more are despising the word of God and trusting in perversity.

Canada’s new Prime Minister met with France’s President Macron, the UK’s Keir Starmer, and King Charles III:

David Lammy thought he was reassuring Canadians. During his visit to Canada – for a meeting of G7 foreign ministers– he was asked about Donald Trump’s claims that the country should become the 51st state of the US. The UK foreign secretary stressed that Canada is a “proud [and] sovereign nation”, and – in his view – would remain so. When pressed further, he invoked Canada’s shared history and monarch with the UK, and our work together during the second world war.

Canadians are already well aware of that shared history, and how Britain has long benefited from its Commonwealth. …

King Charles retains a role. Constitutionally, he remains head of state. …

Canada’s new prime minister, Mark Carney, who visited the UK on Monday, has underscored that Canadians aren’t necessarily looking for our allies to “say nice things” about us. LONDON (AP) — Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney met the leaders of Britain and France on Monday during his first official overseas trip, seeking support from two of Ottawa’s oldest allies as U.S. President Donald Trump targets Canada’s sovereignty and economy.

Canadians have criticized the leaders of the two countries that founded Canada for their muted response to Trump’s attacks. The president has imposed tariffs on Canadian steel and aluminum and repeatedly commented on turning Canada into the 51st state.

Carney and French President Emmanuel Macron did not take journalists’ questions, and a joint news conference was not scheduled with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, either. …

Starmer has called Canada a friend and ally of the U.K. but has declined to directly call out Trump’s talk of annexation — though he went further than he has before by stressing Canada’s sovereignty.

“The relationship between our two countries has always been strong,” Starmer told Carney inside the British leader’s 10 Downing St. residence. “Two sovereign allies, so much in common — a shared history, shared values, shared king.” …

Macron did not address Trump’s attacks on Canada ahead of their talks but noted that tariffs only bring inflation and damage to supply chains.

“In the current international context, we want to be able to develop our most strategic projects with our closest, more loyal partners,” Macron said.

In London, Carney was received at Buckingham Palace by King Charles III, Canada’s head of state, before his talks with Starmer. The monarch, wearing a red tie and an Order of Canada lapel pin, congratulated Carney on his recent victory. He was sworn in on Friday.

“Canada is fortunate to have a steadfast defender in our sovereign,” Carney posted on X. …

“I want to ensure that France, and the whole of Europe, works enthusiastically with Canada, the most European of non-European countries,” Carney said, but vowed to “maintain the most positive relations possible with the United States.” …

Carney said he won’t sit down with Trump until the U.S. is ready to have a more comprehensive discussion on trade and security. “When the U.S. is ready to have that conversation we’re ready to sit down,” he said.

The prime minister also said Canada is not trying to organize a coordinated retaliation response among countries. He also said there is a limit to what Canada is prepared to do in retaliation given that the U.S. economy is 10 times the size of Canada’s.

Carney also noted the United States, France, the U.K. and Canada and other countries are members of NATO and it would be “unthinkable” for the U.S. to annex Canada through military means. …

His government is also reviewing the purchase of U.S.-made F-35 fighter jets in light of Trump’s trade war. Carney said the potential for having more production in Canada is a factor.

Meanwhile, Macron has been increasing efforts to persuade France’s allies to move away from purchases of American military hardware. Canada is in a precarious position these days and Donald Trump seems willing to try to cause Canada a lot of economic pain to get it to accede to his demands. Canada’s economy is highly dependent upon the USA’s economy, not the other way around.

That said, one of the unintended consequences of Donald Trump’s statements and policies has been to get allies to question purchasing weaponry from the United States.

As reported here earlier, even Germany’s Volkswagen has stated that it would be open to producing weaponry again, which it did in WWII (see Germans want Europe to replace America as global leader).

German lawmakers have voted to allow a huge increase in defence and infrastructure spending – a seismic shift for the country that could reshape European defence.

A two-thirds majority of Bundestag parliamentarians, required for the change, approved the vote on Tuesday.

The law will exempt spending on defence and security from Germany’s strict debt rules, and create a €500bn ($547bn; £420bn) infrastructure fund.

This vote is a historic move for traditionally debt-shy Germany …

However, state government representatives in the upper house, the Bundesrat, still need to approve the moves – also by a two-thirds majority – before they officially become law. That vote is set for Friday. …

Friedrich Merz, the man behind these plans and who is expected to soon be confirmed as Germany’s new chancellor, told the lower house during Tuesday’s debate that the country had “felt a false sense of security” for the past decade.

“The decision we are taking today… can be nothing less than the first major step towards a new European defence community,” he said, adding that it includes countries that are “not members of the European Union”.

EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen called the vote “excellent news”.

Speaking at a press conference with Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, she said the vote “sends a very clear message to Europe that Germany is determined to invest massively in defence”.

Frederiksen meanwhile called it “fantastic news for all Europeans”. …

Getting back to Canada, consider that the Bible prophesies that the time will come when the USA (Manasseh below) will turn against its British-descended allies (Ephraim below), including Canada, and vice-versa:

There have been many unintended consequences of the Trump-Vance Administration. Offending many nations, including Canada, has happened. And there will be more.

And while the Trump-Vance Administration seems to believe that any damage to the USA will be minimal, in the long run this will not turn out well for the USA.

Israel resumed bombing of Gaza:

March 18, 2025

Israel launched airstrikes across the Gaza Strip early Tuesday, killing at least 413, including women and children, according to hospital officials. The surprise bombardment shattered a ceasefire in place since January and threatened to fully reignite the 17-month-old war.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered the strikes after Hamas refused Israeli demands to change the ceasefire agreement. Officials said the operation was open-ended and was expected to expand. The White House said it had been consulted and voiced support for Israel’s actions.

A senior Hamas official said Netanyahu’s decision to return to war amounts to a “death sentence” for the remaining hostages.

Izzat al-Risheq accused Netanyahu of launching the strikes to try and save his far-right governing coalition and called on mediators to “reveal facts” on who broke the truce. Hamas said at least four senior officials were killed in Tuesday’s strikes.

The White House blamed Hamas for the renewed fighting. National Security Council spokesman Brian Hughes said the terrorist group “could have released hostages to extend the ceasefire but instead chose refusal and war.”

Netanyahu’s office Tuesday said Hamas had “repeatedly refused to release our hostages and rejected all offers it received from the U.S. presidential envoy, Steve Witkoff, and from the mediators.”

The Israeli military ordered people to evacuate eastern Gaza, including much of the northern town of Beit Hanoun and other communities further south, and head toward the center of the territory, indicating that Israel could soon launch renewed ground operations.

Israel’s airstrikes, which the military described as “extensive,” targeted Hamas strongholds overnight on Monday. Meanwhile, the United States has maintained operations against the Houthis in Yemen, retaliating after the group launched further attacks on U.S. aircraft carriers in the Red Sea. …

(March 18, 2025) — The Israeli Air Force carried out precision airstrikes on military targets in southern Syria on Monday night, hitting command centers, weapons storage facilities, and military vehicles associated with the Assad regime. …

Israel has repeatedly emphasized its commitment to preventing Iranian-backed groups and hostile forces from establishing a foothold near its northern border. Sadly, this breaking of the ceasefire is NOT a surprise.

The Palestinian-dominated areas of the West Bank and Gaza have been in the news a lot. A violent-prone group known as Hamas essentially runs the region called Gaza.

What will happen to Gaza? Does the Bible teach anything about the Palestinians? …

Bible Prophecy Tells About Gaza and Palestine

Zechariah had a prophecy of change coming to Gaza:

5 Ashkelon shall see it and fear; Gaza also shall be very sorrowful; And Ekron, for He dried up her expectation. The king shall perish from Gaza, And Ashkelon shall not be inhabited. 6 “A mixed race shall settle in Ashdod, And I will cut off the pride of the Philistines. 7 I will take away the blood from his mouth, And the abominations from between his teeth. But he who remains, even he shall be for our God, And shall be like a leader in Judah, And Ekron like a Jebusite. 8 I will camp around My house Because of the army, Because of him who passes by and him who returns. No more shall an oppressor pass through them, For now I have seen with My eyes. (Zechariah 9:5-8)

Some (see Matthew Henry’s Commentary, etc.) believe that this was fulfilled in the past. However, as future prophecies tell of a time Gaza and the Philistines having problems (see below), the above could still have future fulfillment. …

Some of those lands, Ashkelon (located 50 kilometres south of Tel Aviv, and 13 kilometres north of the border with the Gaza Strip), Ekron (modern Tel Miqne, which is 35 kilometers west of Jerusalem), and Ashdod (located 32 kilometres south of Tel Aviv, 20 km north of Ashkelon, and 53 km west of Jerusalem), are currently dominated by the nation of Israel.

Ashkelon, Tel Migne, and Ashdod are claimed to be part of Israel. They are not in the Gaza Strip (they are all north of it) nor part of the other Palestinian controlled region known as the West Bank. Therefore, it looks like the Palestinians will either control those cities again or be so numerous in it that they are the ones affected in Jeremiah 25. It is my current view that the Palestinians will gain land that the nation of Israel thinks it will continue to control. Since these are not lands currently considered to be ceded in a peace deal, this looks like losses from the State of Israel after the deal of Daniel 9:27 is broken (cf. Daniel 11:31). …

Amos specifically recorded a prophecy about Gaza:

6 Thus says the Lord:

“For three transgressions of Gaza, and for four,
I will not turn away its punishment,
Because they took captive the whole captivity
To deliver them up to Edom.
7 But I will send a fire upon the wall of Gaza,
Which shall devour its palaces.
8 I will cut off the inhabitant from Ashdod,
And the one who holds the scepter from Ashkelon;
I will turn My hand against Ekron,
And the remnant of the Philistines shall perish,”
Says the Lord God. (Amos 1:6-8) …

Also notice what Zephaniah prophesied:

4 For Gaza shall be forsaken,
And Ashkelon desolate;
They shall drive out Ashdod at noonday,
And Ekron shall be uprooted.
5 Woe to the inhabitants of the seacoast,
The nation of the Cherethites!
The word of the Lord is against you,
O Canaan, land of the Philistines:
“I will destroy you;
So there shall be no inhabitant. (Zephaniah 2:4-5)

Though there was a partial fulfillment near the time this was written, the time has not yet been when there was no inhabitant in Canaan, hence this prophecy is for the future. Gaza will change and be forsaken!

Although Palestinians will one day end up with more land that Israel now dominates, Gaza will be forsaken. One way I suspect that this could happen would be if a regional war occurred directly involving Iran and likely nuclear weapons.

That said, US President Donald Trump has had the US bomb Houthis in Yemen at least twice this month–plus he made threats against Iran:

US President Donald Trump has warned Iran that it will face “dire” consequences if Yemen’s Houthis continue to attack international shipping lanes.

He said the Iranian leadership would be held responsible for “every shot fired by the Houthis”, which have long been backed by Tehran. The group later said it had targeted a US aircraft carrier three times in the past two days.

The Houthis first tried to attack the USS Harry S Truman in the Red Sea on Sunday following deadly US strikes on Yemen.

The Pentagon said it had struck 30 targets in Yemen since Saturday, in the biggest US military operation in the Middle East since Trump returned to the White House.

Trump posted on his Truth Social platform on Monday: “Every shot fired by the Houthis will be looked upon from this point forward, as being a shot fired from the weapons and leadership of IRAN.

“And IRAN will be held responsible, and suffer the consequences, and those consequences will be dire!” …

Ambassador Amir Saeid Iravani accused the US of “baseless accusations” against Iran, Reuters news agency reported. …

Washington has said some key Houthi figures were among the dead, although the group has not confirmed this. …

The Houthis also launched a ballistic missile that crashed into the water well short of the USS Harry S Truman, the official added.

On Monday, the group said that it had launched a third attack on the ship in just 48 hours – disrupting US military strikes that were preparing to launch.

The Pentagon did not immediately respond to the BBC when asked about the group’s latest claims. …

The US also launched airstrikes against the group on Saturday and Sunday.

The Houthis said they would continue to target Red Sea shipping until Israel lifted its blockade of Gaza.

The Bible points to an Iranian-led force, with at least some Syrian involvement, that will cause great damage to Jerusalem (Isaiah 22:6-9).

Jesus told of a time of wars and rumors of war in Matthew 24–and this could be one of them–but it will NOT be the Great Tribulation as “but the end is not yet” (Matthew 24:6).

However, the end is getting closer (cf. Romans 13:11). And if we see a certain deal confirmed this year (cf. Daniel 9:27), the countdown for the Great Tribulation will begin.

In the face of growing protests against Tesla, Trump held an event with Musk on the White House lawn last week and vowed to label vandalism and attacks against the carmaker as domestic terrorism.

“I’ll do it. I’m going to stop them. If we catch anybody doing it, because they’re harming a great American company,” Trump said, standing in front of a row of Teslas.

If the left is this angry now, what do you think they will be like once President Trump and Elon Musk have had six more months to make major changes?  They are calling it “the anti-Trump resistance”, and all over the nation this movement is becoming increasingly violent.  If Trump supporters were using explosives, shooting up dealerships, setting vehicles on fire, stockpiling guns and throwing Molotov cocktails, the mainstream media would be going absolutely nuts.  But since it is radical leftists that are doing it, the mainstream media is treating the violence as if it is no big deal.

I asked Google AI to give me a definition of “terrorism”, and I was told that it is “generally understood as the calculated use of violence or the threat of violence to instill fear and coerce or intimidate governments or societies in pursuit of political, religious, or ideological goals”.

That is precisely what these anti-Trump leftists are doing.

They are literally using violence to advance their political goals…

A wave of anti-Tesla protests and attacks have occurred as Musk, Tesla’s CEO, takes a leading role in President Trump’s cost-cutting task force, the Department of Government Efficiency, or DOGE. The agency has cut thousands of jobs since its inception in January.

These are not “protests”.

What we are witnessing is terrorism on American soil.

In Oregon, one Tesla dealership has already been shot at twice this month…

On Thursday, an arsonist in Seattle poured gasoline on a Tesla Model S sedan and set it on fire…

In Colorado, authorities have arrested a 42-year-old leftist after explosives were discovered at a Tesla dealership…

All over the country, pro-Trump influencers are being “swatted”…

Multiple conservative content creators, including InfoWars host Chase Geiser, Nick Sotor, Gunther Eagleman, ‘Catturd,’ and Trump impersonator Shawn Farash, have been targeted in swatting incidents, which typically entail fake or prank phone calls to emergency services that trigger an armed response from police officers to a particular address.

If the same thing was being done to prominent voices on the left, this would be front page news. …

The level of hatred that I am seeing out there right now is absolutely chilling.  Here is just one example…

Left-wing YouTuber “Vaush” has issued a borderline call to take up arms against the Trump regime and its supporters, labelling MAGA voters “a plague to this country” and saying that life in prison for members of the Trump admin would be “generous.”

In a recent video, Vaush—real name Ian Anthony Kochinski—calls for a wave of militancy leading to a “de-MAGA-fication” of the US like Reconstruction after the Civil War or de-Nazification in post-War Germany.

The video also features a series of chilling threats that suggest a genuine desire to see physical harm inflicted against members of the Trump administration and ordinary Trump supporters.

Those that are advocating political violence should be extremely ashamed of themselves.

What they are pushing is deeply un-American.

As far as the mainstream media goes, it tends to emphasize that the protests are peaceful or “mostly peaceful.” With “mostly peaceful” meaning that there was violence and/or destruction but that most protesters were not involved.

As far as not covering violence goes, the mainstream media has long downplayed or ignored violence against anti-abortion activists or facilities, as well as much of the violence from Antifa or BLM.

In the Bible News Prophecy magazine, October-December 2024 edition, number 22 was listed as “The Incoming US Presidential Administration”

So, it was renamed.

The reelection of Donald Trump has sent shockwaves throughout the world as well as through the legacy media of the United States.

It has brought both hope to some and worry to others.

Donald Trump will be apocalyptic. At least 20 warnings/predictions I made before his last Administration assumed office came to pass (for details see Donald Trump in Prophecy).

Look for Donald Trump and His Administration to offend the Europeans, cause international trade concerns, push many nations further away from the United States, change matters in Ukraine, affect matters in the Middle East, impact US energy production, impact immigration, impact the move away from the US dollar, and further divide many in the United States.

That said, the Bible warns that more terrorism will hit a corrupt people:

5 They have corrupted themselves; They are not His children, Because of their blemish: A perverse and crooked generation. … 25 The sword shall destroy outside; There shall be terror within (Deuteronomy 32:5,25)

12 “Cry and wail, son of man; For it will be against My people, Against all the princes of Israel. Terrors including the sword will be against My people; Therefore strike your thigh. (Ezekiel 21:12)

25 Because you disdained all my counsel, And would have none of my rebuke, 26 I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your terror comes, 27 When your terror comes like a storm, And your destruction comes like a whirlwind, When distress and anguish come upon you. (Proverbs 1:25-27)

New Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney is heading to Paris and London on Monday to seek alliances as he deals with U.S. President Donald Trump’s attacks on Canada’s sovereignty and economy.

Carney is purposely making his first foreign trip to the capital cities of the two countries that shaped Canada’s early existence.

“The Trump factor is the reason for the trip. The Trump factor towers over everything else Carney must deal with,” said Nelson Wiseman, professor emeritus at the University of Toronto.

The 59-year-old former central banker will meet with French President Emmanuel Macron in Paris on Monday and later travel to London to sit down with U.K. Prime Minister Keir Starmer in an effort to diversify trade and perhaps coordinate a response to Trump’s tariffs.

He will also meet with King Charles III, the head of state in Canada. …

Carney has said he’s ready to meet with Trump if he shows respect for Canadian sovereignty. He said he doesn’t plan to visit Washington at the moment but hopes to have a phone call with the president soon.

Sweeping tariffs of 25% and Trump’s talk of making Canada the 51st U.S. state have infuriated Canadians, and many are avoiding buying American goods when they can.

Canada is in a precarious position these days and Donald Trump seems willing to try to cause Canada a lot of economic pain to get it to accede to his demands. Canada’s economy is highly dependent upon the USA’s economy, not the other way around.  Some American’s see Donald Trump’s actions as overdue, whereas others see bullying and other unsavory tactics being used.

Canadians are wondering if becoming closer to the European Union is the answer.

While the USA, Canada, and Denmark all have expressed interest in Greenland, those there have aligned themselves with Denmark and the EU.

Greenland is not a reason most Canadians would cite as a reason to join the EU.

The threat of tariffs against Canada and against the EU by Donald Trump, however, is a reason that both sides might talk more about cooperation.

That said, the idea of Canada potentially joining the European Union is not new.

Canada, the world’s eighth-largest economy, kicked off trade talks with the European Union as it seeks to reduce dependence on a slowing U.S. economy. Prime Minister Stephen Harper met European Commission President Jose Barroso today in Prague to discuss an accord. Canada’s exports will drop 22 percent this year because of the weak global economy, the country’s export development agency predicted last month.

“This is an historic step for Canada,” Harper told reporters in Prague. “It is a glimmer of light in the darkness of this global recession.”

A trade agreement with the European Union would be the country’s largest since the North American Free Trade Agreement. Canada is suffering its deepest slump since the 1930s amid plunging demand for its goods in the U.S., which buys about 80 percent of its exports.

Canada, home to aircraft producer Bombardier Inc. and among the world’s 10 largest auto producing nations, will record a 7.3 percent drop in first-quarter output, the country’s central bank estimates.

Canadian officials, including Trade Minister Stockwell Day, also have complained about what they say is growing protectionism in the U.S.

Protectionist Risk

A U.S. decision to let states exclude Canadian companies from projects paid for by the $787 billion stimulus package risks igniting a protectionist backlash, Day told reporters last month in Washington. The U.S. also recently imposed $54.8 million in duties on softwood lumber from four Canadian provinces.

Canada and the EU, too, will need to overcome trade disputes as they start negotiations. The European Union yesterday approved a ban on imports of seal products, prompting Canada to threaten action with the WTO.

The EU is targeting products derived from seals that are killed and skinned in ways that cause pain and suffering.

Day told reporters yesterday in Prague the dispute won’t affect the trade talks with the EU.

“We’re going to pursue a broader trade agreement with the EU but there will always be individual disputes as there will be with this case with the seals,” he said.

A trade agreement could boost Canadian exports by C$12 billion ($10.2 billion) annually, Day said.

Beyond Tariffs

The scope of negotiations will reach beyond tariffs, making it a broader agreement than Nafta. Canada and the EU are seeking an “ambitious” agreement including government procurement and regulatory co-operation, according to a statement released by Harper’s office today. Canada and the EU traded C$90.4 billion worth of goods in 2008.

An agreement may open up European markets to Canadian aerospace and engineering companies such as Bombardier and SNC Lavalin Group Inc., while providing Europeans access to Canada’s energy resources, said Simon Potter, a trade lawyer at McCarthy Tetrault in Montreal.

“This is the very first trade deal we’re going to sign with a huge economy after Nafta,” Potter said in a telephone interview. “I expect energy is going to be a major part.”

Canada sits on the largest pool of oil reserves outside of the Middle East, and is a major exporter of natural gas.

“Europe strategically is looking to work its way out from the yoke of Gazprom and seeking other suppliers,” Dale Botting, an economic development official from Saskatchewan, said in a telephone interview. Interestingly, to me it least, was something I saw on Canadian television several years ago that indicated that in the future, Quebec would become an ally of the EU and help lead to the destruction of Canada (and possibly also the USA, if I remember that part well enough).

As  I have long believed and reported, the USA and Canada will make various deals with the Europeans, but ultimately, the USA, Canada, and their Anglo-allies, will decide to cooperate more with each other than with the Europeans (Quebec, though, could be in a different category).

However, Anglo-unity is likely to be one of the factors that will lead to the destruction of the Anglo-descended peoples by the coming European Beast power.

Let me add that since the UK had Brexit, that would be another reason that Canada would not want to voluntarily join the EU.

According to a widely reported opinion poll, 44 per cent of Canadians would support Canada becoming a member of the European Union. This is highly unlikely to ever happen, of course, …

Professor Steve Peers has pointed out, the preamble to the treaty makes other references to the “the continent of Europe”, “European integration”, the “inheritance of Europe”, and the “peoples of Europe”.

It thereby seems plain that membership of the European Union is limited to European states. But this proposition opens questions as well as closing them.

And so the questions become: What is Europe? And what is a European state?

To take the second question first, a European state does not mean one limited to the continent of Europe. Before 1985, Greenland was—via Denmark—part of the European Union’s predecessor the European Economic Community (EEC) despite being on the North American continental shelf. And the United Kingdom, which left the EU in 2020, includes as a matter of law (if not any sensible reality) Rockall, an island which is in the middle of nowhere.

Indeed, the European Union expressly recognises nine “outermost regions”—some as far away as the Indian Ocean—as part of the European Union. And in addition to this there are 13 overseas territories with a special relationship with the EU, including Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon, which is just off the coast of, well, Canada.  …

If Canada really wanted to join, and the member states and the European institutions wanted Canada to join, then a way would be found. The definition of “European state” could be fudged. …

And geography would still matter, and Canada’s greatest trading relationship will still be with its (currently) turbulent and tantrum-throwing southern neighbour. Membership of a trading bloc which is otherwise based across the Atlantic may become a hindrance.

Membership of the European Union may be a nice way of not thinking about the current problems for Canadians, but it would bring immense practical difficulties for the Canadian polity and economy. It may well be legally possible, with a few treaty changes, if necessary, but that is all.

What could, however, evolve is an entity that joins together the European Union with Canada and other non-members such as the UK, Norway and Iceland—and perhaps even Greenland—and that this entity could be placed on a formal footing. This would be outwith the EU treaties but would complement the EU bloc. There have been many unintended consequences of the Trump-Vance Administration. Offending many nations, including Canada, and there will be more.

I have warned for over a decade that there would be costs of sanctions and tariffs.

However, the Trump-Vance Administration seems to believe that they will be minimal.

And while that might be true in the medium-term, in the long run this will not turn out well for the USA.

Rep. Thomas Massie (R., Ky.) was the only House GOP member to vote against the continuing resolution. He argued it merely extended President Joe Biden’s spending levels and said that Republicans have continued to kick the can on significant cuts to discretionary spending.

He suggests drastic measures may be needed, including debt restructuring, political pressure on buyers, and potentially cutting payments to certain countries. … what will rock the boat is America’s national debt, Ray Dalio has warned, and it’s a crisis coming down the pipe “imminently.”

Speaking at CONVERGE LIVE in Singapore, the Bridgewater founder explained, “We have a very severe supply and demand problem. Some people think we’ll handle it because we’ve handled it so far. I don’t think they understand the mechanics of debt.”

What is concerning experts like Dalio now more so than in the past is America’s debt-to-GDP ratio: the amount Uncle Sam owes in comparison to the value of its output and hence, how capable it is to repay its debts.

In 2013, Amercia’s debt went beyond the value of what it produces and, at the time of writing, has risen to 122% of GDP, per the St Louis Fed.

This figure is also set to swing even higher—a sweep made all the more dramatic by the increasing burden of interest payments required to bankroll the debt. …

Dalio continued that, at some point, the U.S. will have to “sell a quantity of debt that the world is not going to want to buy.” This is an “imminent” scenario of “paramount importance,” Dalio said.

Drowning in a Stadium

Imagine you’re sitting in a large sports stadium that is completely watertight. A single drop of water is placed in the middle of the stadium, and the amount of water then doubles every minute.

At first, the growth seems slow. You won’t even be able to notice the water until it’s almost too late.

Ray Dalio is one of the world’s most successful hedge fund managers.

His success is due to his consistent ability to get the Big Picture right.

He recently said this:

“We are at a point in which we are borrowing money to pay debt service.

When you keep having debt growth faster than income growth, that means you have debt service encroaching on your spending, and you want to keep spending at the same time.

As that happens, there is a need to get more and more into debt. It accelerates.

We are at the point of that acceleration. We are near that inflection point.”

Dalio is warning about the explosive nature of the US government’s compounding debt situation. …

The financial position of the US government has been gradually deteriorating for decades, so it’s not surprising that many people are complacent. They’ve long heard about the debt problem, and nothing has happened.

However, it is now reaching the tipping point.

That’s because the US government is now borrowing money to pay the interest on the money it has already borrowed, as Dalio noted. Politicians are adding more debt to solve the problems of prior debt.

It’s creating a self-perpetuating doom loop.

It will result in the total debt growing not linearly but exponentially.

The debt increases at a faster rate over time because it is compounding.

Each calculation period adds more interest to the total amount owed, which requires more borrowing and causes a larger interest expense. …

Dalio says the US is near the inflection point where the debt growth will accelerate and explode into previously unimaginable levels.

I think he is correct, and that has enormous implications.  …

Yes, the US debt is rising and is dangerous.

Ray Dalio keeps warning that foreigners will not want the US debt–that is consistent with prophecies in the Bible.

Debt will end in disaster for the USA.

The time will come, according to Bible prophecy, when the nations of the world will no longer accept the pledges (US Treasury Bills and Notes) of the indebted one:

2 Then the Lord answered me and said:

“Write the vision
And make it plain on tablets,
That he may run who reads it.
3 For the vision is yet for an appointed time;
But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie.
Though it tarries, wait for it;
Because it will surely come,
It will not tarry. (Habakkuk 2:2-3)

Notice that the word of God states it will tarry, take a while, but the results will surely come. And that the result is that people should run (flee) because of it.

Here are some details about what is coming and why:

6 “Will not all these take up a proverb against him,
And a taunting riddle against him, and say,
‘Woe to him who increases
What is not his — how long?
And to him who loads himself with many pledges’?
7 Will not your creditors rise up suddenly?
Will they not awaken who oppress you?
And you will become their booty.
8 Because you have plundered many nations,
All the remnant of the people shall plunder you,
Because of men’s blood
And the violence of the land and the city,
And of all who dwell in it. (Habakkuk 2:6-8).

Please pay attention to the fact that that above is a prophecy for the appointed time of the end–essentially the time of the Great Tribulation (Matthew 24:21). The USA has been accumulating pledges in the form of US Treasury bonds and notes, and is the most indebted nation of all time. It is descendants of Israel, like the USA, that are prophesied to have debt issues with foreigners if they turn from God’s laws (cf. Deuteronomy 28:43-44)–that is consistent with Habakkuk 2:6-8. The above prophecy is NOT a reference to the nation calling itself Israel as it has nothing compared to USA debt.

As far as how much the USA is indebted to foreigners, notice the following:

Foreign creditors already hold a net claim of $22.5 trillion (and growing) on U.S. assets. Many of these creditors will be inclined to sell American stocks and bonds rather than buy more — especially if they are encouraged by Trump to raise cash to buy American exports. Foreign producers who, for decades, have exchanged their manufactured goods for American stocks and bonds would stop reinvesting export earnings. (Amoss D. The USA has been setting itself up for the penalties prophesied by Habakkuk.

Consider that the prophecy in Habakkuk says what will happen is so bad, that people should run who read it. That is, they should seriously consider what this means and take the appropriate steps.

Foreign creditors will rise up.

The Bible clearly warns that an indebted people will be destroyed by people whose language that they do not understand, and that the destruction will be fairly total:

43 The alien who is among you shall rise higher and higher above you, and you shall come down lower and lower. 44 He shall lend to you, but you shall not lend to him; he shall be the head, and you shall be the tail. 45 Moreover all these curses shall come upon you and pursue and overtake you, until you are destroyed…47 “Because you did not serve the LORD your God with joy and gladness of heart, for the abundance of everything, 48 therefore you shall serve your enemies, whom the LORD will send against you, in hunger, in thirst, in nakedness, and in need of everything; and He will put a yoke of iron on your neck until He has destroyed you. 49 The LORD will bring a nation against you from afar, from the end of the earth, as swift as the eagle flies, a nation whose language you will not understand, 50 a nation of fierce countenance, which does not respect the elderly nor show favor to the young. 51 And they shall eat the increase of your livestock and the produce of your land, until you are destroyed; they shall not leave you grain or new wine or oil, or the increase of your cattle or the offspring of your flocks, until they have destroyed you. 52 They shall besiege you at all your gates until your high and fortified walls, in which you trust, come down throughout all your land; and they shall besiege you at all your gates throughout all your land which the LORD your God has given you (Deuteronomy 28:43-45,47-52).

7 The rich rules over the poor, And the borrower is servant to the lender. (Proverbs 22:7)

13 And the Lord said, “Because they have forsaken My law which I set before them, and have not obeyed My voice, nor walked according to it, 14 but they have walked according to the dictates of their own hearts…16 I will scatter them also among the Gentiles, whom neither they nor their fathers have known. On June 3, 2023, US President Joe Biden signed a bill to increase the official debt-ceiling of the United States. According to its Treasury the “ceiling” has been changed, increased, or delayed 78 other times. The official debt has nearly tripled since the Obama-Biden Administration. The amount of debt increase has been accelerating.

While many hope that Donald Trump and his team will change that, the Bible is clear that the USA will be taken over (cf. Daniel 11:39) and debt will be a factor per Habakkuk 2:6-8.

Germany’s Interior Ministry, headed by Nancy Faeser – known for banning media outlets – and the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women, and Youth have launched a project dubbed, “Advice Compass on Conspiracy Thinking.”

The center is there to provide advice to anyone who “suspect their friends or family members have fallen victim to conspiracy theories,” according to the Interior Ministry. …

“Holistic” is how Faeser chose to describe this approach and the inclusion of the “advice” center into Germany’s overall fight against what the authorities consider to be extremism and disinformation.

Faeser chose to justify the project by linking the issue of conspiracy theories with disinformation and lies, and as has become the habit over these last years, assigning immense power to these phenomena (“They are spread deliberately to divide our society and destroy trust in independent science, free media or democratic institutions.”) …

Faeser observes that people know their family members and friends the best, and are therefore uniquely positioned to know what they think (this is, after all, about policing citizens’ thinking, not actions).

But what to do if a person in your life thinks differently, and cannot be persuaded to change their mind and agree with you? Maybe let them think about what they like?

Not according to Faeser and her political and NGO allies. Hence – “the Compass on Conspiracy Thinking contact point,” is now available to citizens across Germany.

The above sounds a lot that was warned about in George Orwell’s book 1984. Here are some quotes from it:

Also, in places like East Germany, people were encouraged to turn in friends and relatives, as were people in the old Soviet Union, the old Soviet block, and various other communist nations.

Now, the supposedly “free” government of Germany wants that done now.

Jesus warned:

53 Father will be divided against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother-in-law against her daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law. (Luke 12:53)

The government in Germany is now encouraging that.

In a chilling move that reads like a page from Orwell’s 1984, the European Union is formalizing its role as a gatekeeper of information with the creation of an “Information Sharing and Analysis Center” under the European External Action Service (EEAS). The declared purpose? To combat so-called “disinformation” campaigns from foreign actors like Russia and China. But make no mistake—this is not about protecting truth or democracy. It is a brazen attempt by the EU’s globalist elite to control opposition to narratives, silence dissent, and reshape public opinion to align with their own agenda.

A Veil of Legitimacy for Authoritarian Censorship

The EU’s foreign policy chief, Josep Borrell cloaked the initiative in noble rhetoric, declaring that disinformation undermines democracy by distorting public perception. According to Borrell, democracy cannot function if citizens lack access to “accurate” information—defined, of course, by the very institutions that stand to benefit most from this censorship apparatus.

Under the guise of protecting democracy, the EU has positioned itself as the arbiter of truth. This centralized platform seeks to monitor, analyze, and counter “manipulated” information in real-time, coordinating with NGOs, member states, and cybersecurity agencies. In reality, this infrastructure risks becoming a weapon to stifle independent journalism, dissenting voices, and any narrative that challenges the EU’s policy positions. …

By framing the “struggle for narrative” as an ongoing battle, the EU justifies ever-expanding surveillance and regulation of online platforms and pressuring companies like Twitter to align with its goals. This centralization of control over digital spaces threatens to erode the freedoms of expression and access to diverse viewpoints.

You will use this app to make payments, apply for loans, pay your taxes, pick up your prescriptions, cross international borders, start businesses, book doctor’s appointments, apply for jobs and even sign digital contracts online.

Businesses and government agencies would access this data from the back-end to conduct “automated background checks”.

The German Federation of Consumer Organizations (Verbraucherzentrale Bundesverband, VZBZ) has raised concerns that such an app would “pose privacy and data risks”, to which the only response is “duh, that’s what it’s for!”.

Laura Caroli: The Trump administration has been putting European legislation increasingly under scrutiny, especially laws on digital services, claiming it almost amounts to a form of digital censorship. This only – this not only puts transatlantic relations at strain, but also makes enforcement of European laws increasingly difficult. … We are talking about the Digital Services Act, the law that is under the highest scrutiny from the Trump administration. …

Dr. Caroli: And from the Danish Social Democrats. You have been the lead negotiator of this law, the Digital Services Act. …

Dr. Caroli: Thank you. So, indeed, the Digital Services Act is just a continuation, if I understand correctly, of what was already in place in Europe, this E-Commerce Directive of 20 years ago. But so how much would you say the Digital Services Act is about transparency, as opposed to imposing practices to platforms?

Ms. Schaldemose: Well, it’s a combination of many things. What we’re doing is that we’re, in fact, regulating the level playing field for intermediates. No, it does not ‘level the playing field,’ the Digital Services Act is a platform that involves censorship, control, and surveillance.

Let me add that the European Public Prosecutor’s Office officially started operations on 1 June 2021 (https://www.eppo.europa.eu/en/background). It was established to be able to prosecute what it considers to be financial crimes.

So, there is an office to prosecute, there is a ‘Ministry of Truth’ agency, and Europe has been working on supercomputers, a digital currency, and Artificial Intelligence–all of those types of things are leading to the fulfillment of the 666 and other totalitarian prophecies for Europe.

And according to the Bible, more and more censorship and surveillance is coming.

The Digital Services Act is a partial prelude to the coming ‘666’ controls the Bible prophesies in the following:

This weekend I re-read 1984, a book I tend to reach for when I get Defcon-1 depressed about the state of the world. Deep in the novel, Winston ponders the intricacies of doublethink:

On the flip side, a slew of actions have been taken to crack down on “fake news” and “misinformation” in the West. The big one was the European Union banning RT and Sputnik:

Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, and YouTube also cut access to all Russian state media, because the EU sanctions also required that internet platforms delist any RT or Sputnik content, even from individuals. The statute reads, “As regards the posts made by individuals that reproduce the content of RT and Sputnik, those posts shall not be published, and if published, shall be deleted.”

Other governments across the West, from Australia to Canada, have taken similar actions. In the U.S., Google and YouTube disallowed Russian state media ads (following a request by Senator Mark Warner) and demonetized “a number of Russian channels,” including RT but also many non-Russian individuals, before proceeding to demonetize all individual Russian content creators, even the individuals opposing the invasion. Even DuckDuckGo, the speechier, more pro-privacy alternative to Google, announced it was de-ranking “sites associated with Russian disinformation.” A growing list of Westerners have seen accounts frozen for supposed parroting of Russian talking points or “abusive” commentary.

YouTube banned Oliver Stone’s documentary Ukraine on Fire, while Netflix is going so far as to shelve a production of Anna Karenina. In what might have been the craziest move of all, Meta reportedly followed up a decision to un-ban the neo-Nazi Azov Battalion with a mind-blowing decision to alter its hate speech policies to “allow Facebook and Instagram users in some countries to call for violence against Russians and Russian soldiers in the context of the Ukraine invasion,” according to internal emails seen by Reuters. …

One would hope there would be at least a few Americans left who’d hear about Russia barring the BBC and Voice of America and at least recognize the sameness of the issue involved with banning RT and Sputnik. …

Yes, more and more are seeing the formation of the dystopian world of George Orwell’s book.

The Bible warns:

Sadly, the Bible shows that deception and improper censorship will worsen in the future (cf. Revelation 13:14-18; Amos 8:11-12).

Gold prices reached a record high on Thursday as investors spooked by mounting concerns over a global trade war seek safe-haven assets. The latest rally comes amid on-off tariff announcements by the US.

Import taxes on steel and aluminum imposed by US President Donald Trump took effect on Wednesday, sparking concerns in export-dependent Asia and prompting immediate retaliatory measures from the EU and Canada. Prior to the tariff imposition, Trump threatened to hike the levy on Canadian metals to 50%, but reversed the plan after Ontario Premier Doug Ford overturned his decision to introduce a 25% surcharge on electricity exports to several US states.

Gold futures for April delivery briefly hit $3,003.90 per ounce Thursday night on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) before retreating to $2,989.50, marking the first time a contract has crossed the psychologically important $3,000 threshold. Between 10:00 and 11:00 a.m., Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent spoke on CNBC regarding tariffs, the economy, and their impact on the stock market. Around the same time, Donald Trump made similar comments. The focus here is on Bessent’s remarks and the subsequent market reaction.

I have repeatedly written that gold will hit record highs against the USA dollar and that keeps happening–and despite ups and downs, that is not over.

Furthermore, yes, many in the world are looking to gold. Fiat currencies, like the USA dollar and British pound are backed by nothing. Many know this and think that will last forever–well the monetary system will not stay as it has been.

The Bible prophesies King of the North will get gold which end time Babylon will trade with:

While the Bible is clear that gold will, for a time, not be wanted but tossed (Ezekiel 7:19), it is obvious that into the Great Tribulation (Matthew 24:21-22), which starts in verse 39 of Daniel 11, gold will have value (see also The Plain Truth About Gold in Prophecy. How Should a Christian View Gold?).

The old Worldwide Church of God published the following:

Of course, since gold is regarded as a disaster hedge by many investors, prudence might dictate that perhaps a small fraction of your liquid assets be in gold: (Caulkins J. WHEN MONEY FAILS. Good News, October-November 1979) In Revelation 18, we are given a graphic description of Europe at its future economic peak. Remember this prophecy occurs after the United States, Canada and other Israelitish nations have been conquered and brought into subservience. … In verse 11, Europe’s coming economic wealth and scope is described as John sees it, shortly before the final crisis (to occur at Christ’s coming) takes place. “And the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her, for no man buyeth their merchandise any more: The merchandise of gold and silver … (Catherwood CA. Yes, gold will outlast the US dollar and the European Beast power will have it.

In terms of world events, understand that Germany has been repatriating gold–and even did so ahead of schedule (watch Germany, Gold, and the US Dollar). Europeans have a lot of gold (see The Plain Truth about European Gold) and want more.

The continental European gold reserves (excluding the UK and Russia) collectively hold approximately 12,924.42 tons of gold. –that is more than the official USA (8,133.5) and China (2,264 tons) holdings combined.

Gold will be an item of value in 2025 and at least a few years beyond.

Nations in Asia, Europe, and even Africa will look to increase gold reserves.

Gold will break records in US dollar terms.

There is a growing mistrust of the USA and its dollar.

Part of that is because of Donald Trump.

Part of that is because of massive USA debt.

Part of that is because of the USA’s weaponization of its dollar.

But other parts go back much further–which have been setting the stage for the time to come when the USA dollar will be worthless, and gold will have value.

Because the USA was starting to not have enough gold to back its dollar, way back in 1961, the Plain Truth reported:

Germany, Japan have the largest surpluses of GOLD and DOLLARS…Rich Uncle {Sam} has the greatest deficit in governmental history and a GREATER DEBT than all the REST OF THE WORLD COMBINED!…

Vast foreign aid programs drain the U.S. Treasury … American spending to supply services and to support our troops in foreign countries and military installations around the world amounts to…dollars flowing out of the frightened U.S. Treasury. All of these factors, combined with heavy taxes, gigantic public and private debt, and no gold backing for our own currency if foreign investors demanded gold for their dollars, adds up to the staggering revelation that the U.S., richest nation in the world, is bordering on bankruptcy! (Hill DJ. What the US Gold Crisis Means to You. Plain Truth. February 1961, p. 9).

France did finally cash in dollars and this caused a crisis in the USA. The US answer was to go off the gold standard completely on August 11, 1971. About the same time it made a deal with Saudi Arabia to price oil in dollars. So, while this prevented “foreigners” from being able to redeem US dollars for something from the USA treasury, instead it meant that dollars could be used to by oil. As other (mostly smaller) oil producers followed Saudi Arabia’s lead, this has served to support the US dollar for several decades. However, Saudi Arabia and others are now looking at not only pricing/selling in US dollars. One day in the future, the USA dollar will be worthless.

Gold has increased in value much more than the official government inflation rates since the USA detached its dollar from any type of gold standard. The price of gold will fluctuate, but is prophesied to have value after the USA is gone (cf. Daniel 11:39-43; Revelation 18).

Although the Bible opposes “dross” money (Proverbs 25:4; Isaiah 1:22-25; Ezekiel 22:18-22), modern ‘experts’ have a different view. Back in 1965, the USA decided to turn its silver coinage into dross as the value of its dollar had dropped too much compared to silver. The wrong views on economics will lead to economic problems and ultimately the total crash of the dollar of the USA.

Once the US dollar does fully collapse, I maintain that somehow, Europe will have at least an implied gold backing of its currency (for details see Gold to be used to back European currency?).

Back in 1979, the old Worldwide Church of God also published the following in the old Good News magazine:

While gold will help some for a time, gold will not save humanity, only Jesus can do that, but gold may be prudent for people to consider the signs of the times.

That said, the price of gold and silver do not always go up in US dollar terms.

However, as I have written for many years, according to biblical prophecies, gold and silver will have value after the US dollar is out.
