There is a new report out suggesting that an electromagnetic pulse attack may do a lot more than just fry electronic items:

You’ve seen the warnings about an EMP attack, how it would shut down electronics…

But what would you do when the explosions start?

Yes, explosions, as in the 1980s eruption of flames from a 36-inch natural gas pipeline in the Netherlands, the Bellingham, Wash., blaze in the 1990s when 250,000 gallons of gas leaked into Hannah and Whatcom Creeks and ignited, or the New Mexico blaze that killed 12 and left an 86-foot-long crater in the ground.

That danger would be very present should an electromagnetic pulse event or attack strike, according to experts on the issue.

In fact, a 2008 report from the nation’s EMP Commission specifically cited concerns about the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition, or SCADA, systems that control large sections of American industry and commerce…

An EMP event, whether natural or man-made, would cause “unprecedented cascading failures of major infrastructures,” according to William Graham, head of the commission that issued the 2008 EMP report. “In that event, a regional or national recovery would be long and difficult, and would seriously degrade the safety and overall viability of our nation,” Graham said…

What about electrical issues if the USA itself were to be hit by one or more EMP weapons in the right areas?

The results of an EMP incident would be catastrophic:

• · The U.S. power grid could be destroyed;
• · Planes would crash;
• · Water and sewerage systems would fail;
• · Banks could not access their records;
• · Transportation systems would be inoperable;
• · The internet would go down;
• · Emergency services would severely hampered.

Both U.S. and Soviet scientists became increasingly aware of the threat in 1962. A Financial Sense review of the problem noted that 50 years ago, a nuclear test 800 miles away from Hawaii knocked out 300 of the states’ street lights, triggered alarms, and caused damages to a telephone company. One way that a country like Iran could inflict major damage to the USA would be an effective use of electromagnetic pulse (EMP) weapons. This type of weapon may also be used by the coming prophesied King of the South and/or the King of the North.

An EMP attack by Iran could greatly affect Israel, the USA, or even Europe.

Power transformers in the USA (and elsewhere) are at risk and this could cause major economic and other damage to the USA. Such emp weapons, however, have never been used large scale, so precisely what would happen is subject to debate. But the reality is that emp weapons, as well as solar flares which have similar potential, are threats to the USA, its defenses, and its economy.

The USA, despite its military strength, is vulnerable to being hurt by EMP weapons as well as nuclear weapons, chemical weapons, dirty bombs, terrorism, and biological weapons. Now that everyone knows that EMPs can basically work as advertised, this may give the Iranians more reason to look further into using them if they feel pressed.

“And what I say to you, I say to all: Watch!” (Mark 13:37).

Congress approves ‘fiscal cliff’ measure

Here is what’s still ahead:

1. Debt Ceiling: Congress has to raise the debt ceiling soon. Real soon.

On Monday, Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner made it official: Federal borrowing has reached the $16.394 trillion debt ceiling…

2. Sequester: The so-called sequester is a series of automatic cuts in federal spending that will reduce the budgets of most agencies and programs by 8% to 10%…

3. Continuing Budget Resolution: The federal government works on a fiscal year that starts every Oct. 1. Problem is it has been years since it actually enacted a real budget on time. http://money.cnn.com/2012/12/31/news/economy/more-fiscal-cliffs/index.html

The sad reality is that the US government is NOT in a position to function unless it raises its debt limits. So, it will raise its debts.  And it plans to do so for many years.

Now, the USA has been able to get away with this better than many other nations for several reasons.  But the major one is probably because  the world still accepts the US dollar (for many reasons) as its reserve currency.  Increasing debt, however, is increasing increased national investments in gold and currencies other than the US dollar for many countries.  Some nations are trying to eliminate the U.S. dollar as the world’s reserve currency, and the United Nations has urged countries to do that.  Yet most still use /have a lot of U.S. dollars.

However, when the U.S. dollar is no longer the de facto reserve currency for the world, this will hurt the U.S.A. financially.  Increasing debt, including “quantitative easing,” is a form of dishonest profits that is not something that God approves of and will punish the U.S.A. for (cf. Ezekiel 22:13-16).  Inflation will eventually hit the U.S.A. extremely hard.  As the world becomes less attached to the American dollar, many financial jobs and opportunities will be in places other than the U.S.A.  Eventually, and not in Barack Obama’s second term, the U.S.A. dollar will become worthless.

Biblically, this is more dangerous than most Republicans or Democrats realize. Notice what the Bible warns about those who increase debt in the end times:

3 For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, It will not tarry…5 Indeed, because he transgresses by wine, He is a proud man… 6 “Will not all these take up a proverb against him, And a taunting riddle against him, and say, ‘Woe to him who increases What is not his–how long? And to him who loads himself with many pledges’? 7 Will not your creditors rise up suddenly? Will they not awaken who oppress you? And you will become their booty. 8 Because you have plundered many nations, All the remnant of the people shall plunder you. Because of men’s blood And the violence of the land and the city, And of all who dwell in it. (Habakkuk 2:3,5,6-8).

At some point in time, the USA will likely start to experience massive inflation.  And afterwards, its creditors will rise up (Habakkuk 2:7).

The Bible warns against the type of moral decline that is occurring in the U.S.A.:

12 Therefore thus says the Holy One of Israel:  “Because you despise this word, And trust in oppression and perversity, And rely on them,  13 Therefore this iniquity shall be to you Like a breach ready to fall, A bulge in a high wall, Whose breaking comes suddenly, in an instant. (Isaiah 30:12-13)

But how can this happen to the USA?  It will likely happen with a combination of events. Notice the following:

5 “Moreover the multitude of your foes Shall be like fine dust, And the multitude of the terrible ones Like chaff that passes away; Yes, it shall be in an instant, suddenly. 6 You will be punished by the Lord of hosts With thunder and earthquake and great noise, With storm and tempest And the flame of devouring fire. (Isaiah 29:5-6)

The debt situation of the USA is putting it at risk of being unable to recover should it be hit by weather problems, terrorist acts, war, riots, solar flares, severe earthquakes, civil unrest, devastation of their genetically-modified food supplies, food shortages, and/or various pestilences–an intensity of “sorrows” such as Jesus discussed in Matthew 24:4-8 leading up to the time of the Great Tribulation.   Disasters, especially if there is an ElectroMagnetic Pulse (emp) attack or a severe solar flare storm, could be part of a so-called “perfect storm” of events that could set the USA for destruction.

Many sorrows that the U.S.A. will face, like severe weather problems, diseases and earthquakes, will happen irrespective of who is in the White House (Amos 4:7-10; Luke 21:11).  Bible prophecy shows that the King of the North and King of the South will rise up and the U.S.A. will be ultimately destroyed unless national repentance happens.

Various policies and decisions in Washington, D.C., however, may hasten the day of destruction.  The USA is creating the conditions for the upcoming European Beast power to fill the void in economic (and even military) leadership that the USA is in the process of making.

Rome attributes to Mary many of the divine attributes that are unique to the Lord Jesus. The end result is a counterfeit version of Mary whom Catholics venerate and trust as the channel of all grace. Rome says both Jesus and Mary were immaculately conceived, born without sin, lived sinless lives and now intercede as our advocates. Jesus ascended into heaven, the Catholic Mary was bodily assumed into heaven; Jesus is the second Adam, Mary is the second Eve; Jesus is the King of kings, Mary is the Queen of heaven and earth; Jesus is the mediator, Mary is the co-mediatrix and Jesus is the redeemer, Mary is the co-redeemer. Catholics have also declared that it is Mary, not Jesus, that crushes the head of Satan, the serpent….

Now according to Carl Anderson, the head of the Knights of Columbus, Mary is the best evangelist. “She is the evangelist par excellence, in part because she enters the world…from the beatific vision, a state of supreme closeness to God,” he said Dec. 10 at the Ecclesia in America Conference in Rome. “Her example and continued motherhood of all peoples is a sure path today for the new evangelization.” (Mary Quite Contrary. To that last point, perhaps it should be mentioned that while researching the book Fatima Shock! What the Vatican Does Not Want You to Know About Fatima, Dogmas of Mary, and Future Apparitions, I learned how effective Satan has been in the past using apparitions that claim to be Mary in order to “evangelize.”  This is not a role a dead woman, including Jesus’ mother, could have according to sacred scripture.

But what about this claimed evangelical role in history?

Basically, according to more reputable Catholic researchers, the first known apparition of Mary occurred in the early-mid third century.  Shortly thereafter, the confederation that Serapion of Antioch warned about ended up dominating Asia Minor instead of the Church of God–certain other doctrines that are now widely accepted by the Greco-Roman faiths were given at least impetus because of Marian apparitions.  Marian apparitions also appear to have been partially responsible for keeping those in Europe away from the biblical faith.  It is claimed by certain Catholic researchers that Marian apparitions (specifically “Our Lady of Guadalupe” ) was why Latin America became predominantly affiliated with the Church of Rome.  It also appears that Marian apparitions played a role in getting Russia to accept idols and Europe to remain, for centuries, even more tied to the Church of Rome.

The Bible warns about a woman in Isaiah 47 and Revelation 17 & 18 that seems to be like certain Marian apparitions.  There are other scriptures (please see Mary, the Mother of Jesus and the Apparitions) that support this view.

As far as Mary herself goes, though it is proper for Christians to state that Mary was the mother of Jesus and was blessed (Luke 1:48), it is blasphemous to insist that she was sinless (cf. Romans 3:23) and that one must turn to Mary in order to see Jesus (1 Timothy 2:5) as well as many other teachings accepted by millions.

The Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt has been uncovered in UAE:

The United Arab Emirates has arrested an “Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood cell” that trained local Islamists in how to overthrow Arab governments, a Sharjah-based newspaper reported on Tuesday, citing an unnamed source familiar with the investigation.

The oil-rich Gulf state – of which Sharjah is one part – has previously voiced strong distrust of the Islamist political movement which after long years of being banned took power in free elections in Egypt last year.

The cell, of “more than 10 people”, had a defined organizational structure and was recruiting Egyptians in the UAE to join, al-Khaleej newspaper reported.

The Gulf oil-rich states are not fans of the Muslim Brotherhood (the people tend to be well off and the rulers prefer to keep their influence without sacrificing more power than necessary).   The Gulf oil-rich states keep hoping to be able to eliminate its influence (as do other countries like Jordan).

As far as influence, notice what the Muslim Brotherhood wants:

The Muslim Brethren…believe that the caliphate is a symbol of Islamic Union and an indication of the bonds between the nations of Islam. They see the caliphate and its re-establishment as a top priority, subsequently; an association of Muslims people should be set up, which would elect the imam”. (zhyntativ. What is the Muslim Brotherhood?
The world’s largest and most influential Islamist movement…“The Islamic nation,” its charter states, “must be fully prepared to fight the tyrants and the enemies of Allah as a prelude to establishing an Islamic state”—ideally a re-established caliphate, stretching from Spain across the Middle East and Central Asia to Indonesia, to be governed according to Islamic sharia law. The Muslim Brotherhood apparently wants as its top priority a pan-national Islamic caliphate ruled by an Imam. And while it will not get all the territory it wants, it is likely to end up in some type of confederation with at least most of North Africa and the Middle East.

The time will come when states like UAE will support something like what the Muslim Brotherhood wants, despite their current actions against it.

Part of the reason I state that is because the type of Islamic confederation that the Muslim Brotherhood wants is consistent with one prophesied in the Bible (Ezekiel 30:1-8) that is to be led by one it calls the final King of the South (Daniel 11:40-43).

While some hope that the Islamic group has changed its goals, notice something reported about the current Muslim Brotherhood:

Abd al-Galil al-Sharnubi says he can only laugh at the thought that there are people in the West who still see the Muslim Brotherhood as “moderate Islamists.” Sharnubi is a journalist and a Muslim — and he was a member of the Brotherhood for 23 years. He’s been familiar with the movement since he was 14, and he says that the Brotherhood could be the kiss of death for democracy in Egypt…

As the former editor in chief of Ikhwan Online, the brotherhood’s website, Sharnubi went public shortly after his resignation. In talk shows he warned his fellow Egyptians that the movement was undemocratic and authoritarian, and that leading Muslim Brothers were no less corrupt than politicians from the old regime…

In order to properly apply the Sharia code of conduct, the Islamists suggested that they should be interpreted by Muslim legal scholars, known as ulama…Consequently, even the most radical Islamists have become part of the daily political landscape in Egypt.

The Muslim Brotherhood and/or groups with similar goals continue to rise up in the Islamic nations. A confederation will form and many simply are not realizing this.  While the Gulf states protest, the time will come when their leaders decide that they have no choice but to cooperate more with groups like the Muslim Brotherhood, but probably not completely despite being in some type of arrangement with them:

25b And the king of the South shall be stirred up to battle with a very great and mighty army; but he shall not stand, for they shall devise plans against him. 26 Yes, those who eat of the portion of his delicacies shall destroy him; his army shall be swept away, and many shall fall down slain….

40 “At the time of the end the king of the South shall attack him; and the king of the North shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter the countries, overwhelm them, and pass through. 41 He shall also enter the Glorious Land, and many countries shall be overthrown; but these shall escape from his hand: Edom, Moab, and the prominent people of Ammon (cf. Daniel 11:26, 40-42).

When the King of the North does come against the King of the South (Daniel 11:40-43), it may very well be that some of the Gulf oil-rich leaders will suffer relatively little damage.

World events aligning with Bible prophecy are happening around the world and particularly in the Middle East. As Jesus said, “Watch” (Mark 13:37).

The first argument the administration makes against the owners of Hobby Lobby is that Americans lose their First Amendment right to freely exercise their religion when they form a corporation and engage in commerce. The second argument the administration makes to justify forcing Christians to act against their faith is more sweeping. There certainly has been a change in the moral direction in the USA in the past several decades, which seems to have accelerated.

While many act like there is no economic or other cost to this, they are mistaken.

It may be of interest to note that since movement in the USA towards the Roe vs. Wade decision in 1973, not only have 50,000,000 or so babies been aborted/murdered, the USA has gone from being the world’s largest creditor nation to the world’s largest debtor nation.

According to the Bible, debt is a curse of disobeying God:

43 “The alien who is among you shall rise higher and higher above you, and you shall come down lower and lower. 44 He shall lend to you, but you shall not lend to him; he shall be the head, and you shall be the tail. 45 “Moreover all these curses shall come upon you and pursue and overtake you, until you are destroyed, because you did not obey the voice of the Lord your God, to keep His commandments and His statutes which He commanded you. (Deuteronomy 28:43-46)

The destruction of the USA is coming and abortion in one of the many reasons (see also Anglo – America in Prophecy & the Lost Tribes of Israel).

Also notice what has happened to the economy of the United States:

In real terms, as mentioned above, US growth in the 21st century seems to have fallen back to medieval levels. Why?…Because the economy failed to produce real growth. Coincidence or curse?

While Roe vs. Wade happened before the Obama Administration, it has taken steps to expand abortion availability, which is really part of what the first article from CNS above is about.

And the debt:  Notice something two items that were posted just hours ago:

The mammoth U.S. debt monster is not going away. It’s continuing to grow. And in early 2013, it will return to haunt the White House, Congress and the Fed in a great, new debt ceiling debate!…

When will the debt crisis cease to be just a political battle? In other words, when will it turn into a flesh-and-blood disaster with a direct impact on our daily lives?

Will we ultimately wind up with hyperinflation and an ugly dictatorship much as Germany did after World War I?

Obama, Senate Republicans reach agreement on ‘fiscal cliff’Washington Post

Destruction is coming and it will be even worse than most portray it according to biblical prophecy (cf. Habakkuk 2:6-8).  No matter how the current fiscal cliff debate ends (and it really is not over today), the result is that the total debt of the USA will rise.  And then notice what ultimately will really happen:

3 For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, It will not tarry…5 Indeed, because he transgresses by wine, He is a proud man… 6 “Will not all these take up a proverb against him, And a taunting riddle against him, and say, ‘Woe to him who increases What is not his–how long? And to him who loads himself with many pledges’? 7 Will not your creditors rise up suddenly? Will they not awaken who oppress you? And you will become their booty. 8 Because you have plundered many nations, All the remnant of the people shall plunder you. Because of men’s blood And the violence of the land and the city, And of all who dwell in it. (Habakkuk 2:3,5,6-8).

The USA will really go over its prophesied fiscal cliff and be no more.  But the end is not yet, and will not be in 2013.
