Pope Francis landed in Tirana, Albania … He then made his way towards the Presidential Palace in Tirana. Thousands of Albanians packed the streets …

At the presidential palace, the Pope was welcomed by President Bujar Nishani, as well as government authorities. In his first address, the Pope thanked them for inviting him to their country, which he described as a land of heroes and martyrs.

“Almost a quarter of a century has passed since Albania re-embarked upon the arduous but rewarding path of freedom,” the Pope said. …

Concluding his address, Pope Francis said that in today’s climate of economic and cultural globalization, growth and development must be ensured to all and not just a select few of the population. Albania, he said, is able to face these challenges “in an atmosphere of freedom and stability.”

“As Saint John Paul II did in April 1993, I invoke upon Albania the protection of Mary, Mother of Good Counsel, entrusting to her the hopes of the entire Albanian people. TIRANA, Albania, Sept 21 (Reuters) – Pope Francis, in his strongest criticism of Islamist militants to date, said on Sunday no religious group which used violence and oppression could claim to be “the armor of God.”

Francis made his comments during a one-day visit to Albania, an impoverished Balkan country hailed by the pontiff as a model of inter-faith harmony because of good relations between its majority Muslim community and its Christian denominations.

“Let no one consider themselves the ‘armor’ of God while planning and carrying out acts of violence and oppression,” he said in the presidential palace in Tirana, responding to an address by Albanian President Bujar Nishani, who is Muslim. …

In Tirana, Francis lauded the mutual respect and trust between Muslims, Catholics and Orthodox Christians in Albania as a “precious gift” and a powerful symbol in today’s world.

“This is especially the case in these times where an authentic religious spirit is being perverted by extremist groups and where religious differences are being distorted and instrumentalised,” said Francis.

I agree with Pope Francis that people are not supposed to be killing in this age under the banner of religion.

Jesus warned that people would also use religion as a pretext to kill true believers:

2 They will put you out of the synagogues; yes, the time is coming that whoever kills you will think that he offers God service.  3 And these things they will do to you because they have not known the Father nor Me. (John 16:2-3)

New Testament Christians have realized from the beginning that they should not engage in carnal warfare (see Military Service and the Churches of God: Do Real Christians Participate in Carnal Warfare or Encourage Violence?) or physical persecution (see Persecutions by Church and State).  However, the Church of Rome has deviated from that throughout much of its history.

While dialog between peoples of differing religions can be helpful, Pope Francis’ agenda goes beyond that.  Pope Francis is striving to attain unity between the Church of Rome and the Eastern Orthodox.  He also has an interfaith agenda that includes the Muslims (see also Will the Interfaith Movement Lead to Peace or Sudden Destruction?).

Of course, not all Muslims care for Pope Francis.  It has been reported to the Vatican that Pope Francis is at risk of an assassination attempt by Albanian jihadists from the ranks of ISIS,  the Islamic State (http://macedoniaonline.eu/content/view/26105/53/).  Pope Francis wants to function as a bridge between Catholics and Muslims–the pagan term Pontifex Maximus, that popes use, means chief bridge builder.

Pope Francis is also a very Marian focused pontiff, her name is used to attempt to build bridges.  It is noteworthy that Francis brought ‘Mary’ up in Albania.  He seems to be trying to tell the mostly Islamic Albanians that ‘Mary’ has helped them over the past couple of decades and will help them further. Mary is mentioned in the Islamic Koran more than the name of Jesus–Muslims view Jesus’ mother Mary as one of four perfect women and some venerate her.

The use of ‘Mary’ to reach Muslims and others has long been part of the ecumenical and interfaith agenda of the Vatican.  Pope Francis seems to be one of the most, if not the most, determined pontiff thus far to try to make that a reality.

Yet, the Bible warns against a changed and false gospel (2 Corinthians 11:4; Galatians 1:6-7).  The Bible never teaches that Mary is to be the focus for Christians.

The Douay-Rheims Bible (DRB) and New American Bible (NAB), which are Roman Catholic Bibles, in both the Old and New Testament teaches to turn to God and to trust God:

13 And rend your hearts, and not your garments, and turn to the Lord your God: for he is gracious and merciful, patient and rich in mercy, and ready to repent of the evil. (Joel 2:13, DRB)

I preach, that they should…turn to God (Acts 26:20, DRB).

11 Serve the LORD with fear; exult with trembling, Accept correction lest he become angry and you perish along the way when his anger suddenly blazes up.Blessed are all who take refuge in him! (Psalm 2:11, NAB)

3 Trust in the Lord, and do good, and dwell in the land, and thou shalt be fed with its riches. (Psalms 36:3, DRB)

5 Blessed is the man whose trust is in the name of the Lord;  (Psalms 39:5, DRB)

12 I will declare thy name to my brethren; in the midst of the church will I praise thee. 13 And again: I will put my trust in him. And again: Behold I and my children, whom God hath given me. (Hebrews 2:12-13, DRB)

9 But we had in ourselves the answer of death, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God who raiseth the dead. 10 Who hath delivered and doth deliver us out of so great dangers: in whom we trust that he will yet also deliver us. (2 Corinthians 1:9-10, DRB)

Sacred scripture never says to turn to Mary.  It never says to entrust any person nor any nation to Mary.  Blessings, according to the Bible, come from trusting God, not Mary.

The version of ‘Mary’ that Pope Francis venerates developed as the result of the adoption of certain practices of Simon Magus and the worship of the pagan goddess Diana (see also Pope Francis: Could this Marian Focused Pontiff be Fulfilling Prophecy?). That is worldly and wrong–it was also NOT part of the original Christian teachings (see Mary, the Mother of Jesus and the Apparitions).

Despite it being wrong, Pope Francis has a worldly ecumenical and interfaith message that the United Nations shares with him (see United Nations: Humankind’s Last Hope or New World Order?), that is also contrary to the teachings of the Bible (cf. Revelation 18:4).

While the Bible does tell of a time of true unity to come (Zechariah 2:10-12), it also warns that a compromised religion based in the great city of seven hills that rules over the world (Revelation 17:1-9, 18) will cause a Babylonian unity that God will have destroyed (Revelation 18).  Sadly, this is the type of unity that Pope Francis is working towards in Albania and elsewhere.

Russia has sent a message to northern Europe and North America:

Eight Russian planes, including long-range bombers, were intercepted this week by US and Canadian pilots. Sweden has made its displeasure known to the Russian government after similar incursions.

Washington defense officials said on Friday that Russian planes were intercepted by US and Canadian warplanes on two separate occasions when they entered a US “Air Defense Identification Zone” (ADIZ) this week near Alaska.

In the first of two incidents, the Russian planes – which included two Mig-31 fighter jets, two refueling aircraft and two Russian Bear long-range bombers – were identified and intercepted by F-22 fighter jets according to air monitoring officials. The planes, which were about 55 nautical miles (88.5 nautical kilometers) from the US coast were said to have left “without incident.”

A statement by both the US and Canadian aerospace command NORAD, and US Northern Command NORTHCOM also said that Canadian fighters intercepted two Russian Bear long-range bombers in the Canadian ADIZ on Thursday. Those planes were about 40 nautical miles from the Canadian coast. …

Sweden complained on Friday that Russian fighter planes had violated its airspace this week, summoning the Russian ambassador to the foreign ministry in Stockholm.

The Russian planes were said to have been in Swedish airspace, near the Baltic Sea island of Oland, on Wednesday for about 30 seconds. Although Russian aircraft have entered the zone previously it was ‘the first time in a long time’ that fighter jets passed through the area, said a US defence official, who spoke on condition of anonymity.

To safeguard a country’s air space, air defence identification zones extend beyond territorial air space and are designed as a buffer to give a government more time to respond to potentially hostile aircraft.

But the zones do not fall under international treaties and are not regulated under international law.

Retired Air Force Lt. Gen. Thomas McInerney, a former Alaskan Air Command commander with experience in Russian strategic flight incursions, said the increased bomber activity appears related to nuclear activities.

“They are having a very aggressive nuclear readiness exercise now as a show of force,” McInerney said. “Whereas the U.S. has been on a path of nuclear zero which they think is ridiculous.”

The Swedish Armed Forces confirmed on Friday afternoon that two Russian SU24 fighter-bombers had been detected flying over the country.

According to the Foreign Ministry, the planes passed through Swedish airspace to the south of Öland last Wednesday at lunchtime. The planes were one kilometre inside Swedish territory for about 30 seconds.

Foreign Minister Carl Bildt described the flights as “the most serious aerial incursion by the Russians during my years as foreign minister.” Bildt has asked the Armed Forces for a full report into the incident. …

“Obviously we view this with concern,” he said. “If this information is true, it is one of the most serious violations we have seen,” he said in a statement before the incursions were confirmed.  The planes left Swedish airspace after a Swedish Gripen plane was scrambled to warn them off.

Liberal Party leader Jan Björklund said the violations were “somewhat more serious” than previous Russian flights.  “These was more blatant and lasted for a longer time,” Björklund said, adding that there had been a steady increase in Russian activity over a long period.  “There’s an ongoing escalation, which is why I have pointed out the need to strengthen our defence,” he said.  http://www.thelocal.se/20140919/russian-flights-condemned-by-social-democrats

While Russia is trying to send a signal, yet it is getting people in Europe to conclude that they need to spend more money on defense.  This will not turn out well for Europe nor North America (cf. Daniel 11:39-45).

CNN had an interesting take on the Islamic State, Ukraine, Russia, and the USA.  It has a Russian commentator reporting who believes that Russia will attain some of its objectives with Ukraine because of the problem with the Islamic State:

(CNN) — Sometimes geography gets in the way of power politics. Just when you thought that Ukraine was miles away from Syria, bang — you find out that they’re actually bordering each other.

Confused? I bet you are. But here’s the deal: the civil war in Ukraine, which most sensible people tend to classify these days as a direct stand-off between Russia and the U.S., is now having a direct impact on the conflict in Syria. …

Russia is supporting President Bashar al-Assad’s regime in Syria, while America and its allies are backing the anti-government rebels there — some of whom have at some point developed into ISIS and started to get all sorts of crazy ideas.

Since it is Assad’s troops who are actually doing the fighting on the ground against ISIS and since it so happens that this new menace is now the number one target of America, it follows that Ukraine is very close to Syria when it comes to international power-play.

This week, out of the blue, the already-disbanded Ukrainian parliament voted to provide special status for Donetsk and Lugansk — the two rebellious regions in eastern Ukraine — offering them autonomy for three years and allowing them to hold their own elections for their local authorities, in addition to offering an amnesty for people who have not been directly involved in fighting Ukrainian government troops.

Initially this was received with caution in Moscow — especially given what has been going on for the past nine months in Ukraine — but if that is not a signal from Barack Obama that he is ready to play ball with Russia, then I don’t know what is.

The view in Moscow is that the Obama Administration is telling the Kremlin that it needs help in dealing with ISIS. But as it can’t just say it publicly, it is using Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko to do the honors…the broad anti-ISIS coalition that Obama is hoping to build is not exactly shaping up as planned. Turkey is openly hesitant to get involved, and the Saudis are not exactly over the moon with the whole concept. So Obama’s best bet to get the ball rolling, as it is now seen from Moscow, would be to discreetly work with Russia….

What will Putin ask for in return for helping to defeat ISIS? That’s the question that is probably being mulled over in the White House as you read this. Well, it just so happens that sorting out the mess in eastern Ukraine is Putin’s personal project — just like Syria was last year. He will want some sort of guarantee that Kiev will stick to the new deal about the special status of Donetsk and Lugansk which should help calm things down in the eastern provinces, at least until next spring. While Russia may very well get its way with eastern Ukraine and the USA may decide not to push against it too strongly, the Russian steps in Ukraine and now Sweden are incensing the Europeans.  Notice:

Higher military spending in the wake of Russia’s intervention in Ukraine could wipe away the “peace dividend” Europe has enjoyed since the Cold War ended, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development has warned. …

Although no one considers that Europe is a major military threat to Russia or the USA, this will change.  The ‘pivot’ for the USA towards Asia, combined with Russia’s moves in Ukraine and elsewhere are deeply concerning the Europeans.  Europe, despite its current and prophesied problems (Daniel 2:41-43), will rise up for a time.

While the Bible shows that ultimately an apparently Russian led coalition will lead to the destruction of Europe (Daniel 11:44; Jeremiah 50:41-43), this will not happen until after Europe is able to defeat the USA and its Anglo-Saxon allies like Canada (Daniel 11:39) and then an Arabic confederation (Daniel 11:40-43).

Russia does have power, yet its steps are encouraging the rise of the final European Beast power of biblical prophecy (Revelation 13:1-10).

Obama: World United in Fight Against IS

U.S. President Barack Obama says the U.S. continues to lead its “friend and allies” in the strategy to “degrade and ultimately destroy” the terrorist group known as Islamic State.

  Should you keep the Fall Holy Days?

The ‘Fall’ Holy Days come every year in September and/or October on the Roman calendar. Some call them Jewish holidays, but they were kept by Jesus, the apostles, and their early faithful followers. China has announced it plans to build the world’s largest particle collider:

Beijing, China – Chinese scientists are racing to complete plans for a supergiant particle collider that, when built, will dwarf every other accelerator on the planet.

The underground particle-smashing ring aims to be at least twice the size of the globe’s current leading collider – the Large Hadron Collider (CERN) outside Geneva. With a circumference of 80 kilometres, the Chinese accelerator complex would encircle the entire island of Manhattan.

A preliminary conceptual design for this leading-edge particle physics laboratory is now being drafted by China’s elite sphere of high-energy physicists, joined by a circle of Western counterparts.

China hopes that this Circular Electron Positron Collider will shine as a symbol of the country’s rise as a global superpower in terms of pure scientific research.

“This machine is by and for the world,” explains Professor Gao Jie, one of the leaders of the project at the Institute of High Energy Physics in Beijing.

Beijing plans to speedily expand cooperation between China’s foremost physicists and their European and American counterparts with the new collider. …

Arkani-Hamed says that a perfect circle-shaped city, hosting the globe’s leaders in experimental particle physics, new-technology firms and other future-oriented scholars and designers, could be created inside the massive Chinese collider complex. The Collider complex would also host a multipurpose science-technology campus aimed at conducting secondary and supplemental science experiments.

With the unveiling of the new collider, he forecasts, “China will without question become the world leader in the field [of physics]”.

China wants to try to become the world leader in supercollider technology with its Circular Electron Positron Collider.  The USA once had that role, but Europe has surpassed it with its Large Hadron Collider (LHC).  I should add that when governments are involved ‘pure scientific research’ of a physics nature that this tends to have military and economic purposes.

That is why the Europeans seem to have their LHC.  The Europeans collected a lot of data and came up with better understanding of aspects of physics because of it.  To cite one example, the Higgs boson was also only considered to be theoretical until CERN proved otherwise with the LCH in the past year or two–a Nobel prize was awarded for demonstrating that it did in October 2013 (see CERN’s Large Hadron Collider and the Noble Prize for Physics). Also for another example, it should be noted that it was believed, as recently as a few years ago, that antimatter could not exist more than a few nanoseconds, at most, yet CERN disproved it as it had it for 17 minutes (see CERN Makes Major Strides with Antimatter), and my read of what CERN did allows that they could keep collected antimatter a lot longer than that.  Antimatter has massive destructive potential, and theoretically could be used for a type of weaponry the world has never seen.

Anyway, the Europeans shut the LHC down for a short time to rebuild it to make it even more helpful.  Now, CERN’s Large Hadron Collider (LHC) is back:

CERN Accelerator Back in Business

The long upgrade of the Large Hadron Collider is over. The scientific instrument responsible for the discovery of the Higgs boson — the so-called “God particle” — is being brought up to speed in time for this month’s 60th anniversary of the European Organization for Nuclear Research, known by its French acronym CERN. The work being done in Europe (CERN is the European Organization for Nuclear Research) has destructive potential. While the USA has Brookhaven, it is not being upgraded, etc. to the degree that Europe’s LHC is nor is it likely to match Germany’s upcoming F.A.I.R. which is another advanced supercollider.

Although China hopes to surpass Europe, the Bible shows that the world will marvel at the military ability of the end time European Beast power (Revelation 13:4).  The Bible also shows that the nation with the strongest fortresses (currently the USA) will be destroyed by the final European King of the North Beast (Daniel 11:39).  Thus, the CERN LHC and other projects in Europe have the potential to make that happen.Americans. And Americans may not like the results of the projects, like LHC, that the Europeans are working on.

Since the Beast of Revelation 13 will be European (Europa, the Beast, and Revelation and the YouTube video Can You Prove that the Beast to Come is European?), I have long felt that the Large Hadron Collider project had major military potential and warned of that back in 2009 (see Thiel B. 2012 and the Rise of the Secret Sect. Nazarene Books, 2009, p. 85).

This does not mean that China may not come up with useful military and other technology with its planned supercollider.  Since the Bible shows that a confederation of nations that would seem to have to include China will be involved in the final destruction of the end time Babylonian European power (Jeremiah 50:41-42; Revelation 9:13-18; 16:12-16), it may well be that China will develop technology with its hoped for supercollider that will harm Europe and/or at least neutralize some of its ability to use its technology as effectively.

Notice some of what I wrote in one of my books related to Barack Obama, the USA military, European military, the Beast, and technology:

Instead of completely strengthening the U.S. Global Positioning System (GPS), Barack Obama’s Administration instead decided to rely on Europe’s upcoming Galileo “GPS” for part of the U.S.A.’s military defense (U.S. and the EU to collaborate on the usage of Global Navigation Satellite Systems. Wire Update, BNO News, July 31, 2010). This would appear to give the rising European power a unique offensive and defensive capability against the U.S.A. (cf. Daniel 11:39; Revelation 13:3-4). It is dangerous to have a potential enemy control portions of one’s military communications systems.

Instead of increasing the U.S.A.’s role in particle collider technology, similar to some previous administrations, Barack Obama’s Administration has greatly weakened that. So much so, there is only one remaining U.S. particle accelerator and it is at risk of being gutted or shut down (Matson J. Nuclear Decelerator: Last U.S. Particle Collider is on Chopping Block. Scientific American, August 24, 2012). This is an area where Europe has clearly gained the lead over the U.S.A. since Barack Obama became president…

The Bible shows that the Beast will have special help from “unclean spirits” (Revelation 16:13) and will be considered to be unconquerable (Revelation 13:4).

Notice what the Bible says about this:

3…And all the world marveled and followed the beast. 4 So they worshiped the dragon who gave authority to the beast; and they worshiped the beast, saying, “Who is like the beast? Who is able to make war with him?” (Revelation 13:3-4, NKJV)

Notice that the military power of the Beast was something that the world will marvel, be astonished about. Why? Because no one really thought that the European Beast power had the military ability to defeat the U.S.A. with its Anglo-allies (Daniel 11:39), and then the Islamic King of the South (Daniel 11:40-43). Revelation 13:3-4 also supports the idea that the Beast may rise up because of violent civil unrest in Europe.

Technology may be key to a powerful European military. One aspect could include particle collider research. The number of colliders in the U.S.A. has dwindled down to one under the Obama and Bush Administrations, and the remaining one is facing budget cuts and possible closure. Yet, in Europe, it now has the leading one in the world, CERN’s Large Hadron Collider (LHC) and in 2012, Germany announced that it is planning a possibly even more advanced one called FAIR (FAIR stands for the Facility for Antiproton and Ion Research).

I believe that Germany’s FAIR, along with the LHC and other technology, will help the Europeans produce military weaponry to fulfill certain end time prophecies. Since Revelation 13:4 is discussing what seems to be a unique type of warfare, this warfare likely includes certain high-tech weapons (electromagnetic pulse, neutron, unique delivery systems, etc.) that will be effective for a while (ultimately the Europeans will be overcome by what appears to be a Russian-led, mainly Asian, confederation, cf. Jeremiah 50:41-43 & Daniel 11:44, possibly by exploiting some technological flaw, like creating a software virus, etc., while also amassing troops, etc.). The FAIR and the LHC projects are also likely to spin-off economic benefits that may help propel Europe to be (for a short while) the economic leader of the world (cf. Revelation 18).

While the U.S.A., Australia, and others are currently worried mostly about China, the European developments will not be good for the Anglo-descended lands, including England. (Thiel B. Large physics projects tend to produce military weaponry.

The power in Europe is starting to rise up. And yes, ultimately, some of what is likely to come from Europe’s Large Hadron Collider and/or Germany’s FAIR collider, will be used to as part of an attack on American (USA and possibly Canadian) forces. Additionally, I believe that Europe’s Galileo or similar technology (Galileo is an upcoming competitor to GPS that the USA has said it will partially rely on for its own military needs; see also Europe’s Galileo ‘GPS’ Hits Another Milestone and USA GPS and EU Galileo linking was expected) will help the Europeans when that happens as well as to help prevent counter-strikes by the USA.

Europe is moving forward with its space and military plans and few in the USA seem to realize that when it gets enough power, the USA will lose all of its.  What China is doing should serve as a wake-up call for

The understanding of the Continuing Church of God that the Europeans will be able to attack and takeover the United States and its Anglo-descended allies (cf. Isaiah 10:5-11; Daniel 11:39) is correct and will come to pass. And as I have speculated for years, the Large Hadron Collider and similar projects may be a factor in making that happen.

Scotland voted to remain part of the United Kingdom:

EDINBURGH—British Prime Minister David Cameron said he is “delighted” with the result of Scotland’s referendum on independence as the majority of Scots voted to stay in the union.It was a sleepless night for many across Scotland as the results of the referendum on independence slowly trickled in early Friday. … David Cameron said the referendum delivered “a clear result” rejecting full independence.

“So there can be no disputes, no re-runs, we have heard the settled will of the Scottish people. Scotland voted for a stronger Scottish parliament backed by the strength and security of the United Kingdom and I want to congratulate the ‘No’ campaign for that, for showing people that our nations really are ‘Better Together,’” said Cameron.

Because many thought there was a chance that Scotland would vote to leave, the UK took steps which come at a price:

Unionists had always said they would offer Scots more autonomy if they voted to stay, but had not detailed what that would look like. That began to change as panic over a possible Yes vote took hold in the two weeks before the vote.

The leaders of the Conservatives and the Liberal Democrats – who form the current national government – and the opposition Labor Party promised Scots a fast-track timetable for further devolution, including decisions on welfare, borrowing, and tax-raising powers. They also signed a pledge to maintain indefinitely the higher funding levels that Scotland receives compared with many other regions of the UK.

On Friday, Cameron also promised he would seek to shake up the constitutional arrangements for the rest of Britain. “It is absolutely right that a new and fair settlement for Scotland should be accompanied by a new and fair settlement that applies to all parts of the United Kingdom,” he said.

Those promises open up a Pandora’s box of further problems. Many voters outside Scotland see Scotland’s gains as a bribe and have grumbled that Scots are getting special treatment.

Cameron’s words sought to address a thorny constitutional problem: Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland elect representatives for their own regional parliaments and for Westminster. EDINBURGH — Scotland renewed its 307-year-old vow with the United Kingdom on Friday, but new autonomy is the price England must pay for keeping the marriage.

Voters rejected a referendum on independence from the United Kingdom by a comfortable margin of 55% to 45%. British Prime Minister David Cameron helped ensure that outcome by promising the central government in London — one of the most powerful among Western nations — would hand over more power to Edinburgh if voters chose to stay in the union.

The question now is how quickly Cameron will deliver on those promises which include significantly enhanced control over spending and taxation amounting to a version of home rule in all matters of state save for certain key areas such as defense and monetary policy.  http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/world/2014/09/19/scotland-what-next-referendum-vote/15874397/

Last week, someone asked me if I thought that Scotland would vote to leave this week and I said no.  It was my view that although Scotland could leave, that this was only a possibility, not a likelihood.

Now that the vote is over, I want to mention that I do believe that the United Kingdom will ultimately be divided.

The Bible shows that before he died, Jacob (also known as Israel) stated that he wanted the descendants of Joseph (Ephraim and Manasseh) to be named after him (Genesis 48:16). Therefore, Bible readers need to be aware that many of the scriptures that involve end time prophecies and “Israel” are directed towards the descendants of Joseph. In modern times, these descendants are the major ethnic group in the USA, Canada, Australia, UK (including territories such Gibraltar and the Falkland Islands), and New Zealand. More details on this are in the article Anglo – America in Prophecy & the Lost Tribes of Israel for those who wish to research this further.

Many verses in the Bible show that those who represent end time Israel will have their lands divided and peoples scattered.

Although many do not accept that the USA and its Anglo-Saxon allies are descended from Joseph, all should still find the following end time scripture provides compelling evidence that the the USA, at least, will have its lands divided by the final King of the North:

39 Thus he shall act against the strongest fortresses with a foreign god, which he shall acknowledge, and advance its glory; and he shall cause them to rule over many, and divide the land for gain (Daniel 11:39, NKJV except as otherwise specified).

The “he” in the Daniel 11:39 is the final end time King of the North; the final Beast of Revelation 13. Notice that he goes against the “strongest fortresses”.

Who could have the “strongest fortresses”?

At this time, the strongest fortresses in the world belong to the USA and, to a much lessor degree (except as they align with the USA), its Anglo-Saxon allies including the United Kingdom.

Other verses of the Bible also show the land being divided:

16 The anger of the LORD hath divided them; he will no more regard them (Lamentations 4:16, KJV).

2 And I will enter into judgment with them there On account of My people, My heritage Israel, Whom they have scattered among the nations; They have also divided up My land. They have also cast lots for my people…(Joel 3:2-3, NKJV).

17… Your land shall be divided by survey line; You shall die in a defiled land; And Israel shall surely be led away captive From his own land (Amos 7:17, NKJV)

I used the KJV for Lamentations 4:16 as it correctly translated the Hebrew word as divided. The is term translated as “scattered them” by the NKJV in Lamentations, but it is the same Hebrew word (Strong’s 2505) used in Daniel 11:39 translated as “divide.”

It is also the same Hebrew word used in Ezekiel 5:1 where the hair (apparently representing the U.S.A., etc.) is divided and then will “scatter to the wind”–hence indicating that the people that survive will end up in many lands (and not in a good way):

1 “And you, son of man, take a sharp sword, take it as a barber’s razor, and pass it over your head and your beard; then take scales to weigh and divide the hair. 2 You shall burn with fire one-third in the midst of the city, when the days of the siege are finished; then you shall take one-third and strike around it with the sword, and one-third you shall scatter in the wind: I will draw out a sword after them…12 One-third of you shall die of the pestilence, and be consumed with famine in your midst; and one-third shall fall by the sword all around you; and I will scatter another third to all the winds, and I will draw out a sword after them…8 Yet I will leave a remnant, so that you may have some who escape the sword among the nations, when you are scattered through the countries. (Ezekiel 5:1-2,12; 6:8).

13 “Behold, therefore, I beat My fists at the dishonest profit which you have made, and at the bloodshed which has been in your midst. 14 Can your heart endure, or can your hands remain strong, in the days when I shall deal with you? I, the Lord, have spoken, and will do it. 15 I will scatter you among the nations, disperse you throughout the countries, and remove your filthiness completely from you. (Ezekiel 22:13-15)

By having massive debt that they will not pay back, the peoples of the USA and UK make a “dishonest profit” and they will be scattered among nations and countries–via “all the winds.” Following “all the winds” means that not all will end up in the same place.

Notice also why:

10 “And it shall be, when you show this people all these words, and they say to you, ‘Why has the Lord pronounced all this great disaster against us? Or what is our iniquity? Or what is our sin that we have committed against the Lord our God?’ 11 then you shall say to them, ‘Because your fathers have forsaken Me,’ says the Lord; ‘they have walked after other gods and have served them and worshiped them, and have forsaken Me and not kept My law. 12 And you have done worse than your fathers, for behold, each one follows the dictates of his own evil heart, so that no one listens to Me. 13 Therefore I will cast you out of this land into a land that you do not know, neither you nor your fathers; and there you shall serve other gods day and night, where I will not show you favor.’ (Jeremiah 16:10-13)

47 “Because you did not serve the LORD your God with joy and gladness of heart, for the abundance of everything, 48 therefore you shall serve your enemies, whom the LORD will send against you, in hunger, in thirst, in nakedness, and in need of everything; and He will put a yoke of iron on your neck until He has destroyed you. 49 The LORD will bring a nation against you from afar, from the end of the earth, as swift as the eagle flies, a nation whose language you will not understand, 50 a nation of fierce countenance, which does not respect the elderly nor show favor to the young. 51 And they shall eat the increase of your livestock and the produce of your land, until you are destroyed; they shall not leave you grain or new wine or oil, or the increase of your cattle or the offspring of your flocks, until they have destroyed you. 52 They shall besiege you at all your gates until your high and fortified walls, in which you trust, come down throughout all your land; and they shall besiege you at all your gates throughout all your land which the LORD your God has given you (Deuteronomy 28:47-52).

Notice that gates, including likely sea-gates, will be lost to an enemy (see also Will the UK Lose Gibraltar and the Falkland Islands?).

There are also some old Catholic writings that teach that the United Kingdom will be divided into three pieces:

Mother Shipton (d. 1551) “The time will come when England shall tremble and quake…London shall be destroyed forever after . . . and then York shall be London and the Kingdom governed by three Lords appointed by a Royal Great monarch…who will set England right and drive out heresy (Culleton, R. Gerald.  The Prophets and Our Times. Nihil Obstat: L. Arvin.  Imprimatur: Philip G. Scher, Bishop of Monterey-Fresno, November 15, 1941.  Reprint 1974, TAN Books, Rockford (IL), p. 163).

Saint Cataldus of Tarentino (c. 500): “The Great Monarch will be in war till he is forty years of age….he will assemble great armies and expel tyrants from his empire. He will conquer England and other island empires” (Connor E. Prophecy for Today. Imprimatur + A.J. Willinger, Bishop of Monterey-Fresno; Reprint: Tan Books and Publishers, Rockford (IL), 1984, p.30).

Hence, at least one Catholic prophecy shows that the United Kingdom will be divided up (among Europe) and another that the English shall be conquered. Notice that they are to be taken over by a “Great Monarch” (who seems to be the same person as the King of the North of the Bible)–a European power.

The Bible itself does not say how many pieces the UK, USA, and other Anglo-Saxon dominated lands will be divided, but division and change will come in the future.

I did not post about this on this COG News page related to Scotland prior to the vote as I did not want to give the impression that I thought that the vote yesterday was going to be a fulfillment of the biblical prophecies of the land being divided.

Now that the vote is over, it seemed to be the appropriate time to again remind everyone that the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand will be taken over and the lands divided by various enemies (though perhaps for Australia and New Zealand they may only end up with one foreign oppressor over each of those lands).  The division will come from military conquest–something most do not wish to think about, but something that will happen according to biblical prophecy.

National repentance is the only hope for people in those lands.  Although that is not likely, personal repentance still is an option.

Sunset Wednesday, September 24th, 2014, will begin the seventh month of the Hebrew calendar known as Tishri.

Tom Roberts, who at the time he produced this was part of a group called CG7 Meridian (not to be confused with the vastly larger CG7-Denver), wrote:

In 1858, Gilbert Cramer from the Marion Party, founded eight churches which would ultimately become the Church of God Seventh Day. Out of this ministry arose the Remnant of Israel under the leadership of G. G. Rupert who definitely advocated the meaning of Holy Day observance. (“Remnant of Israel”, G. G. Rupert, Vol 10, No. 11, September, 1929) Some today are suggesting that G. G. Rupert was a delegate at the 1888 Seventh Day Adventist Conference which began the change of direction of the SDA Church from its founders with the departure of Wagner and Jones.This conference was very significant because its theme was “Righteousness by Faith” and was needed to free Sabbatarians from legalism.Unfortunately, as the years passed, many of the founding voices of Adventism who once gave support to the Seventh Month Movement were no longer influential.Ellen White even stated that the Adventist camp meetings should replicate the Feast of Tabernacles…

As the years progressed, Adventist scholars such N. L. Andreason, Raymond Cottrell, Ken Richards, Desmond Ford, and many others began to question the classical Adventist positions taught about the history of their beginnings and the direction the church was taking. There were those who wanted to go back to the non-trinitarian, Holy Day, Kingdom of God on earth positions of the church. Others such as Desmond Ford, wanted the church to move in an evangelical direction while some at La Sierra University have tried to place the church on a more progressive path. Once again, the church is beginning to denounce all feast day keepers. Angel Rodriguez, PhD, and others have denounced the entire feast day movement. In spite of this, the ethos of feast day movements are still are behind the thinking of much of Seventh Day Adventist theology. One such example is Leslie Hardinge’s In the Shadow of His Sacrifice. He does an absolutely brilliant job of teaching Christianity the meaning of the Holy Days and the lessons that should impact their thinking about the Messiah.

Today there is a growing but small number of small groups of Adventist Holy Day Keepers who are attempting to resurrect the Seventh Month Movement in the Adventist Church. Dr. John Vandenberg is leading the charge along with a few other scholars and pastors by showing the Seventh Month Movement should never have been buried in Adventist history but instead modified to exclude its theological errors. It should have retained the spirit of Holy Day keeping in the worship and the life of the church.

Let us all pray and support this movement and fellowship with them as offer our love and service.

Gilbert Cranmer helped form a group that was called Church of God, Adventist. Eventually, various changes occurred to that group and it became, in the 20th century, the Church of God, Seventh-day (CG7).

The reasons for the term “Seventh Month Movement” include the fact that the seventh month in the Hebrew calendar contains what are commonly referred to as the ‘Fall Holy Days.’ The first day of the seventh month (Tishri) is the Feast of Trumpets, and then all the rest of the Fall Holy Days occur in the seventh month of the Hebrew calendar. Hence “Seventh Month Movement” connotes observance (to some degree) of the biblical Fall Holy Days.

Most Sabbath-keeping Church of God groups observe and endorse the biblical Fall Holy Days of the seventh month (the Church of God, Seventh-day Denver does not, but it now does allow its members to do so).

There are also some within the Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) movement that endorse the holy days, but they are a minority.

Yet, the late SDA scholar Samuele Bacchiochi not only endorsed the biblical holy days late in his life, he also wrote books about them (which I purchased and read) explaining why he felt that they had biblical and historical support for their observances.  He even cited some statements from Ellen White hinting that she supported their observance.

Every now and then, I hear from some associated with the SDA movement who recognize that doctrinal compromise has occurred within it and that they lean more towards Church of God doctrines in certain areas.

CG7 itself allows its members to observe the biblical holy days if they do not insist that others need to.  Interestingly, A.N. Dugger, who was president of CG7 in the early part of the 20th century ended up keeping the holy days himself after he left that organization.

Those of us in the Continuing Church of God do observe the biblical holy days.

(Reuters) – China is not a warlike nation, President Xi Jinping said on Thursday, during a rare trip to neighbor India that was dominated by a standoff on a barren Himalayan plateau between soldiers from the world’s two most populous nations.

Robust comments from India’s new prime minister Narendra Modi about the dispute in territory claimed by both Asian giants overshadowed Xi’s pledge of $30 billion investments in South Asia over five years, including $20 billion in India.

“A warlike state, however big it may be, will eventually perish,” Xi said in a speech, adding that China believed its neighbors were key to its wellbeing.

He said China was committed to the path of peaceful development, addressing concerns in Asia about Beijing’s increasingly assertive territorial claims including in the South China Sea, a vital global trade route.

But the mood was stern when Modi and Xi emerged from a long meeting to address reporters soon after officials confirmed that soldiers had pulled back from their positions in a western Himalayan region claimed by India and China.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi won a pledge from Chinese President Xi Jinping to invest $20 billion as the leaders sought to adjust a lopsided trade relationship and resolve a flare-up on their disputed border.

Leaders of the world’s two most populous countries today announced a five-year plan in which China would invest $20 billion to help reduce India’s largest trade deficit with any single country. China will also help set up industrial parks in the Indian states of Maharashtra and Gujarat, which Modi ran before taking power in May.

“We agreed that our economic relations do not do justice to our potential,” Modi said at a joint briefing with Xi in New Delhi today. China is attempting to create an international coalition that it can influence as it wants to eventually dethrone the USA’s economic and military dominance of the world.  India is one piece of that plan.

While China, on its own, will not dethrone the USA (it will also need Europe), it very well may cooperate ultimately with the Europeans for this to happen.

German Chancellor Merkel has made many trips to China (see Angela Merkel to China again; any ramifications for the USA, Australia, or New Zealand?) and neither Europe nor China want the USA to have the type of power it now has.

That being said, the Bible does tell of a coming military alliance between the powers in Asia which would include China and almost assuredly India (Revelation 9:13-18; 16:12-16).  The meetings between the leaders there are preludes to the type of cooperation we can expect to see in the future.  Both of those nations would be expected to provide troops for the coming 200 million man army the Bible warns will form and be involved with Armageddon:

13 Then the sixth angel sounded: And I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before God, 14 saying to the sixth angel who had the trumpet, “Release the four angels who are bound at the great river Euphrates.” 15 So the four angels, who had been prepared for the hour and day and month and year, were released to kill a third of mankind. 16 Now the number of the army of the horsemen was two hundred million; I heard the number of them. 17 And thus I saw the horses in the vision: those who sat on them had breastplates of fiery red, hyacinth blue, and sulfur yellow; and the heads of the horses were like the heads of lions; and out of their mouths came fire, smoke, and brimstone. 18 By these three plagues a third of mankind was killed–by the fire and the smoke and the brimstone which came out of their mouths(Revelation 9:13-18).

12 Then the sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates, and its water was dried up, so that the way of the kings from the east might be prepared. 13 And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs coming out of the mouth of the dragon, out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet. 14 For they are spirits of demons, performing signs, which go out to the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty. 15 Behold, I am coming as a thief. Blessed is he who watches, and keeps his garments, lest he walk naked and they see his shame.” 16 And they gathered them together to the place called in Hebrew, Armageddon (Revelation 16:12-16).

While Armageddon is at least seven years off, only China, and possibly India and others in Asia (which may align themselves with Russia against the European Empire per Jeremiah 50:41-42), are capable of fielding a two hundred million man army.  Closer ties between the Asians, despite occasional setbacks, will result in the fulfillment of biblical prophecies.

Australia made its largest anti-terrorism raid ever today:

The emerging reality of terrorism in Australia struck home just before dawn on Thursday when more than 800 police launched synchronised raids on houses and vehicles across Sydney’s west and north-west, and Brisbane’s south.

The raids foiled a plot involving a man believed to be Australia’s most senior Islamic State member who called contacts in Australia and asked them to carry out a campaign of random public beheadings in Sydney and Brisbane, the ABC understands.

Mohammad Ali Baryalei, a former Kings Cross bouncer and part-time actor, is understood to have made the instruction to kidnap people in Brisbane and Sydney and have them executed on camera. That video was then to be sent back to IS’s media unit, where it would be publicly released.

Omarjan Azari, 22, from the western Sydney suburb of Guildford, was one of 15 people detained during the operation in Sydney and is accused of conspiring with Mr Baryalei and others to act in preparation or plan a terrorist act or acts, court documents show. …

The charge relates to activity from May this year, well before the Federal Government publicly spoke about sending troops to fight IS in Iraq.

“The law enforcement authorities became aware of information in May of this year that a group of people in Sydney were at least talking about plans to carry out random attacks on individuals in Australia and they were kept under surveillance,” Federal Attorney-General George Brandis told Macquarie Radio. …

SYDNEY—Australia has launched its biggest-ever counter-terrorism operation at homes and businesses in Sydney and Brisbane. Officials say 800 heavily armed police officers have taken part in the raids, in which 15 people have been arrested so far and one formally charged.The Prime Minister Tony Abbott said the series of anti-terror raids across Sydney and Brisbane were prompted by a senior Islamic State militant ordering “demonstration killings” in Australia.

Media reports have alleged that conspirators planned to abduct a random member of the public in Sydney, drape them in an Islamic State flag and behead them on camera.

Hundreds of police officers raided properties across two of Australia’s biggest cities, Sydney and Brisbane.

A 22-year-old Sydney man Omarjan Azari faces charges of conspiracy to prepare for a terrorist attack on Australian soil.

Prosecutors told the court the alleged offense was “clearly designed to shock, horrify and terrify the community.”

The New South Wales police commissioner Andrew Scipione says the raids succeeded in making Australia safer. …

Australia is clearly deeply affected and now more in Australia and others realize this.  Many in the Islamic community in Australia are concerned that not only are they being harassed by the government, that more individuals will take actions against them and that all of this may result in more Muslims turning against Australia.  This is consistent with various biblical prophecies (Psalm 83:3-8; Deuteronomy 32:25; Psalms 73:12,19).

I do believe that Australia is is subject to terrorist attacks, and will be attacked internally by terrorists and then eventually taken over from outsiders consistent with the following prophecy:

25 The sword shall destroy outside; There shall be terror within (Deuteronomy 32:25)

The above also applies to the USA, UK, and others.

Of course, it is in the Middle East that the Islamic State is doing the most terrorism, and it has apparently succeeded in taking other villages which, if it holds to its past actions, will result in murder and other forms of terrorism to most in them:

BEIRUT—Islamic State fighters captured villages and besieged a Kurdish city in northern Syria near the border with Turkey on Thursday in a major assault that prompted a commander to appeal for military aid from other Kurds in the region. …

In an advance near the border with Turkey, Islamic State fighters using heavy weaponry including tanks seized a group of Kurdish villages near the city of Ayn al-Arab, also known as Kobani. The Observatory said 21 villages had fallen to Islamic State fighters advancing on the city.

“We’ve lost touch with many of the residents living in the villages that ISIS [Islamic State] seized,” Ocalan Iso, deputy head of the Kurdish forces in Kobani, told Reuters via Skype.

He said the group was committing massacres and kidnapping women in the newly-seized areas. …

Redur Xelil, spokesman for the main armed Kurdish group in Syria, the YPG, said Islamic State had encircled Kobani.

If the Kurdish city is taken over, it will not end well for the Kurds within it.

Despite USA, Australian, and other military efforts, the Islamic State is moving forward in some areas.  And while I remain of the view that the Islamic State will not lead the final King of the South of Bible prophecy (Daniel 11:40-43), I do believe that the actions of groups like the Islamic State are leading the West to push for a confederation to deal with them that can lead to the rise of the aforementioned King of the South (watch also the video Obama Administration Pushing for an Islamic Empire?).

WASHINGTON — The Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) may be dominating the headlines and stealing attention with its prolific propaganda, but CBS News’ Bob Orr reports, another group in Syria — one few have even heard of because information about it has been kept secret — is considered a more urgent concern.

Sources tell CBS News that operatives and explosives experts from Osama bin Laden’s old al Qaeda network may again present an immediate threat to the U.S. homeland.

At two dozen foreign airports, U.S.-bound passengers are undergoing enhanced security screening. Agents are searching for hidden explosives. Laptops and phones with dead batteries have been bannedfrom flights.

Great Britain raised its national terror threat level, and the FBI is tracking American jihadists who may return home.

It will seemingly take a combination of fighting, social, and political pressures to somewhat reign in the actions of the extremists groups.  In addition to taking military and anti-terrorism actions, the USA keeps pressing for regional and international solutions to do this (watch also the video Obama Administration Pushing for an Islamic Empire?).  Regional blocks are in the process of rising up that the Bible refers to as the King of the North (a European block) and King of the South (North African/Middle East block).  Those sides will make a deceptive deal together (Daniel 11:27) and a deal that will not end well for the USA, UK, Australia, New Zealand, and Canada (Psalm 83:2-8; Daniel 11:39).

Eventually, a time of a temporary peace will come (see The ‘Peace Deal’ of Daniel 9:27), but not too many years later Australia, the USA, UK, Canada, New Zealand will be overtaken (Daniel 11:39).  The Islamic nations in North Africa will also later be taken over themselves (Daniel 11:40-43).

Interim steps by governments and leaders will have various affects, but they will not prevent the coming of the Great Tribulation and the Day of the Lord.  The terror raids in Australia have woken some people up, but the real threats facing Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the UK, and USA are larger than most truly still can accept.
