Satanism, Astrology, and Birthdays

COGwriter

Do you realize where the practice of birthday celebrations came from or how they are viewed by certain Satanists?

Back in 1969 Anton Lavey wrote The Satanic Bible. On page 96 (in the 1976 version) it mentions birthdays:

THE highest of all holidays in the Satanic religion is the date of one’s own birth. This is in direct contradiction to the holy of holy days of other religions, which deify a particular god who has been created in an anthropomorphic form of their own image, thereby showing that the ego is not really buried.

The Satanist feels: “Why not really be honest and if you are going to create a god in your image, why not create that god as yourself.” Every man is a god if he chooses to recognize himself as one. So, the Satanist celebrates his own birthday as the most important holiday of the year. After all, aren’t you happier about the fact that you were born than you are about the birth of someone you have never even met? Or for that matter, aside from religious holidays, why pay higher tribute to the birthday of a president or to a date in history than we do to the day we were brought into this greatest of all worlds?

After one’s own birthday, the two major Satanic holidays are Walpurgisnacht and Halloween (or All Hallows’ Eve). (Lavey A, Gilmore P. The Satanic Bible. Avon, September 1, 1976, p. 96–note it is on page 53 of an online version I found also).

It is interesting that birthdays are considered one of the three most important holiday to these Satan worshipers (the two others called Walpurgisnacht and Halloween also have pagan ties and are observed by millions who claim to be Christian). While not all Satanists share that view, most celebrate birthdays and those who practice astrology also consider birthdays of vital importance.

The Bible never encourages the celebration of birthdays. Instead, it tends to speak in a negative manner concerning them (cf. Matthew 14:6-11; Jeremiah 20:14-18).

Of course, despite the practices of many who profess Christianity or Judaism, early Christians did not celebrate birthdays nor did the early Jews. Nor have real Christians ever celebrated Halloween. As far as the Jews, notice that the first century Jewish historian Josephus noted that Jewish families did not celebrate birthdays:

Nay, indeed, the law does not permit us to make festivals at the birth of our children, and thereby afford occasion of drinking to excess (Josephus. Translated by W. Whiston. Against Apion, Book II, Chapter 26. Extracted from Josephus Complete Works, Kregel Publications, Grand Rapids (MI), 14th printing, 1977, p. 632).

Now although there is no specific command against the celebration of birthdays in the Bible, the Jewish custom in those days was apparently based on the negative occurrences in the Bible surrounding birthdays, as well as the astrological implications of the celebration of birthdays (pagan practices, like astrology, were specifically prohibited in the law).

No early religious/church writing from the second century that I have seen (and I have read most that are available) seems to endorse (or even suggest) the celebration of birthdays by any who professed Christ either.

Astrology also seems to play a role:

Since it was believed that the positions of the stars at the time of birth influenced a child’s future, astrological horoscopes came into being, purporting to foretell the future, based on the time of birth. “Birthdays are intimately linked with the stars, since without the calendar, no one could tell when to celebrate his birthday. They are also indebted to the stars in another way, for in early days the chief importance of birthday records was to enable the astrologers to chart horoscopes” (The Lore of Birthdays, p. 53). Rawlinson’s translation of Herodotus includes the following footnote: “Horoscopes were of very early use in Egypt… and Cicero speaks of the Egyptians and Chaldees predicting… a man’s destiny at his birth”…

When we examine the principles of God’s law closely, as they relate to birthday celebrations, we can understand why neither Christ, nor His Apostles, nor their true followers, observed their birthdays. As noted earlier, the practice has its origin in idolatry and the worship of the sun, moon and stars…Some may view birthday customs as purely secular, lacking any religious significance. Yet we need to be aware of the broader perspective of their origins, and the religious significance they have had—and still have—for vast multitudes of people. (Reynolds, Rod. Should Christians Celebrate Birthdays? Living Church News, May-June 2002. pp.16-18).

The Bible condemns practices associated with astrology:

You are wearied in the multitude of your counsels; Let now the astrologers, the stargazers, And the monthly prognosticators Stand up and save you From what shall come upon you. Behold, they shall be as stubble, The fire shall burn them; They shall not deliver themselves From the power of the flame (Isaiah 47:13-14).

Although he was not part of the Church of God, the writings of the early third century Catholic theologian Origen of Alexandria show that, even that late, Orthodox Catholics were against the celebration of birthdays. The Catholic Encyclopedia states:

Origen, glancing perhaps at the discreditable imperial Natalitia, asserts (in Lev. Hom. viii in Migne, P.G., XII, 495) that in the Scriptures sinners alone, not saints, celebrate their birthday (Martindale C. Christmas, 1908).

Here is some of what Origen wrote:

…of all the holy people in the Scriptures, no one is recorded to have kept a feast or held a great banquet on his birthday. It is only sinners (like Pharaoh and Herod) who make great rejoicings over the day on which they were born into this world below (Origen, in Levit., Hom. VIII, in Migne P.G., XII, 495) (Thurston H. Natal Day. Transcribed by Thomas M. Barrett. Dedicated to Margaret Johanna Albertina Behling Barrett. The Catholic Encyclopedia, Volume X. Copyright © 1911 by Robert Appleton Company. Online Edition Copyright © 2003 by K. Knight. Nihil Obstat, October 1, 1911. Remy Lafort, S.T.D., Censor. Imprimatur. +John Cardinal Farley, Archbishop of New York).

The writings of the late third century Catholic theologian Arnobius show that, even that late, Catholics objected to the celebration of birthdays as he wrote:

…you worship with couches, altars, temples, and other service, and by celebrating their games and birthdays, those whom it was fitting that you should assail with keenest hatred. (Arnobius. Against the Heathen (Book I), Chapter 64. Excerpted from Ante-Nicene Fathers, Volume 6. Edited by Alexander Roberts & James Donaldson. American Edition, 1886. Online Edition Copyright © 2005 by K. Knight).

Thus birthday celebrations, even of gods and leaders, were condemned as far as the late third century by even Roman Catholic leaders. But like many practices associated with non-biblical “Christianity”, this changed in the fourth century.

Essentially birthdays became celebrated later because of compromises with the pagan cult of Mithraism (see Did Early Christians Celebrate Birthdays? and Do You Practice Mithraism?)

And for over four decades now, Satanists claim that birthdays are their highest holiday. Do you observe them too?

Venezuela: Problems continue

Protesters in Caracas, Venezuela

COGwriter

Problems continue in Venezuela:

August 6, 2017

Venezuelan Socialist party leader Diosdado Cabello said Sunday that a “terrorist” attack had taken place at a military base in the central city of Valencia.

Troops acted quickly to control the “irregular situation” at the Paramacay military base, Cabello, a supporter of President Nicolas Maduro, said on Twitter.

The announcement came after a video was posted online early Sunday, showing men in military uniforms, some of them carrying assault rifles, declaring a rebellion against Maduro in the state of Carabobo, where Valencia is located.

Despite months of violent protests against the measure, Venezuela’s controversial Constituent Assembly was inaugurated Friday. The assembly is expected to rewrite the constitution and give new powers to the ruling Socialist party.

President Nicolas Maduro’s wife and son are among the members of the 545-member assembly that unanimously selected former Foreign Minister Delcy Rodriguez as its president. https://www.voanews.com/a/terrorist-attack-on-venezuela-military-base-under-control/3974308.html

6 August 2017

The ruling Socialist Party’s deputy leader, Diosdado Cabello, called it a “terrorist attack” on Twitter.

It happened in Valencia in Carabobo state in the country’s north-west.

A video circulated on social media of a uniformed group calling themselves the 41st Brigade.

“This is not a coup but a military and civil action to re-establish constitutional order,” said the leader, who said his name was Juan Caguaripano and referenced “Operation David”. http://www.bbc.com/news/world-latin-america-40843494

The latest election in Venezuela was considered corrupt by many observers. Some have apparently chosen violence to show their disapproval.

Here is more on problems in Venezuela:

Venezuela is a woeful reminder that no country is so rich that it can’t be driven into the ground by revolutionary socialism.

People are now literally starving — about three-quarters of the population lost weight last year — in what once was the fourth-richest country in the world on a per-capita basis. A country that has more oil reserves than Saudi Arabia is suffering shortages of basic supplies. Venezuela now totters on the brink of bankruptcy and civil war, in the national catastrophe known as the Bolivarian Revolution. …

Runaway spending, price controls, nationalization of companies, corruption and the end of the rule of law — it’s been a master class in how to destroy an economy.

The result is a sharp, yearslong recession, runaway inflation and unsustainable debt. The suffering of ordinary people is staggering, while the thieves and killers who are Chavista officials have made off with hundreds of billions of dollars. At this rate — The Economist calls the country’s economic decline “the steepest in modern Latin American history” — there will be nothing left to steal.

Any government in a democratic country that failed this spectacularly would have been relegated to the dustbin of history long ago. Maduro is getting around this problem by ending Venezuela’s democracy.  …

The goal of Maduro’s alleged constitutional reforms is to no longer have a constitution worthy of the name. Immediately after the vote, his forces arrested two leading opposition figures in the dead of night. Video shows one of them, Antonio Ledezma, being taken away in his pajamas and another, Leopoldo López, bundled into the back of a car.

It looks like what it truly was — a pair of kidnappings.

Denied the ordinary means of dissent via the press and elections, the opposition has taken to the streets. Already more than 100 people have been killed in clashes over the past several months.

Worse is yet to come. 08/01/17 http://nypost.com/2017/08/01/venezuela-a-nation-devoured-by-socialism/

Venezuela is crumbling and with it, the left’s idea of a perfect socialist system. Yet … Nicolás Maduro, refuses to realize this obvious fact and instead, has resorted to political violence to silence his opposition. As the economy crumbles, the future of the oil industry Venezuela once relied on has been called into question. The devastation in Venezuela has grown from a political crisis to both an economic and humanitarian one.

During a vote last month, the Venezuelan people were asked to select, from a trusted list of allies in the governing party, a group to rewrite the nation’s constitution and maintain power in Venezuela until their work is finished. This would give Maduro and his ruling party the authority to dissolve branches of government such as the legislature, which is currently controlled by Maduro’s opposition party.

Voters were not given the ability to reject the plan, simply decide who they wanted on the council. The list was so corrupt it included Maduro’s own wife. While Maduro boosted high voter turnout, the election results have already been called into question.

Opposition spokesman Vicente Bello, criticized the lack of voter protection practices, such as the fact that voters were not asked to give proper identification. Voters were only allowed to cast ballots in any of three different locations.

Even a software company involved in setting up voting systems announced the turnout figure had been altered by at least one million votes.

While Venezuela is clearly operating under an illegitimate democracy, the situation only gets worse as Maduro responds to opposition with force.

Following the election, two opposition leaders under house arrest, Antonio Ledezma and Leopoldo López, posted videos to YouTube urging Venezuelans to protest the election results and called the newly formed council a fraud. Within days, both individuals were imprisoned for making political statements.

The Trump administration has quickly imposed additional sanctions on President Maduro as a result. Trump hopes this encourages the release of all political prisoners held there.

But these two are not the only Venezuelans suffering.

James Kirchick explained in the LA Times that, “Socialist economic policies — price controls, factory nationalizations, government takeovers of food distribution and the like — have real human costs. Eighty percent of Venezuelan bakeries don’t have flour. Eleven percent of children under 5 are malnourished, infant mortality has increased by 30 percent and maternal mortality is up 66 percent. More than 100 people have died in anti-government demonstrations and thousands have been arrested.”

Economically, Venezuela cannot support its own people. Years of big government socialist policies have led to media crack downs, over printing of money, and a war on capitalism that the country can simply not win. 08/03/17 http://www.hngnews.com/sun_prairie_star/opinion/columns/article_008196f4-7850-11e7-8613-8b6c41f5a0bd.html

Venezuela has continued to fall apart, and this has become more and more noticeable to many this year.

Venezuela’s oil wealth and geographic location had the potential for it to be one of the most prosperous countries in Latin America. Despite the drop in oil prices, it still should be.

However, various government policies have not served the people well.

And now, government leaders are taking desperate measures to keep power.

Eventually, Venezuela will one day align with the Beast power that will arise in Europe. That, too, will not be good.

Venezuela, and the rest of the world, needs the Kingdom of God for the coming utopia (watch also Millennial Utopia).

UN approves North Korean sanctions as USA prepares for a ‘defensive war’

Saturday, August 5th, 2017

COGwriter

The United Nations has approved more sanctions against North Korea:

The U.N. Security Council voted unanimously Saturday to pass a resolution being pushed by the United States that will deprive North Korea of $1 billion a year in revenue that helps fuel its illicit nuclear and ballistic missile program.

The move for additional sanctions came in response to Pyongyang’s intercontinental ballistic missile launches July 3 and 28, which showed that the rogue nation might now have the capacity to bring the U.S. mainland and much of Europe into its cross hairs.

The provisions effectively deny Pyongyang of one-third of its annual $3 billion in exports revenue. Four export sectors are targeted in the resolution — coal, iron and iron ore, lead and lead ore, and seafood.

The United States’ U.N. ambassador, Nikki Haley, said the U.S. is “taking and will continue to take prudent defensive measures to protect ourselves and our allies” from the threat posed by North Korea, which she said was “rapidly growing more dangerous.”

In two council resolutions adopted in March and November of last year, the council imposed export caps on coal, which is North Korea’s single largest export.

“In this resolution, there is no cap, there is no allowable coal. All coal exports will stop, will be banned from export from North Korea,” a council diplomat told VOA prior to the vote.

By removing that cap, the diplomat said there would immediately be a decrease of $400 million a year in North Korea’s export revenue.

The iron and iron ore ban will deprive North Korea of an estimated $251 million this year. Lead and lead ore exports were expected to generate $113 million in revenue this year, and seafood was expected to bring in nearly $300 million.

The resolution also prohibits countries from accepting additional guest workers from North Korea. Pyongyang is notorious for sending its citizens to other countries to work and then confiscating much or all of their salaries, effectively making them slave labor. https://www.voanews.com/a/us-security-council-north-korea-sanctions/3973718.html

The USA and UK seem to be taking steps to prepare for possible war with North Korea:

August 5, 2017

The United States is preparing for all options to counter the growing threat from North Korea, including launching a “preventive war,” national security adviser H.R. McMaster said in an interview that aired Saturday on MSNBC. The comments come after North Korea carried out two tests of intercontinental ballistic missiles in the past month and after the president said he has been clear he will not tolerate North Korea’s threats to attack the U.S. with nuclear weapons.

The key excerpts (full transcript):

H.H.: Let me switch if I can to North Korea, which is really pressing. And– and remind our audience, at the Aspen Institute ten days ago, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, Joe Dunford, said, “There’s always a military– option. It would be horrific.” Lindsey Graham on Today Show earlier this week said– “We need to destroy the regime and their deterrent.” Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said on Tuesday, I believe, to North Korea, “You are leaving us no choice but to protect ourselves.” And then the Chairman of the Chief of Staff of the Army said, “Just because every choice is a bad choice doesn’t mean you don’t have to choose.” Are we looking at a preemptive strike? Are you trying to prepare us, you being collectively, the administration and people like Lindsey Graham and Tom Cotton for a first strike North Korea?

H.R.M. Well, we really, what you’re asking is– is are we preparing plans for a preventive war, right? A war that would prevent North Korea from threatening the United States with a nuclear weapon. And the president’s been very clear about it. He said, “He’s not gonna tolerate North Korea being able to threaten the United States” if they have nuclear weapons that can threaten the United States; It’s intolerable from the president’s perspective. So of course, we have to provide all options to do that. And that includes a military option.

Now, would we like to resolve it short of what would be a very costly war, in terms of– in terms of the suffering of mainly the South Korean people? The– the ability of– of that North– North Korean regime to hold the South hostage to conventional fire’s capabilities, artillery and so forth, Seoul being so close. We’re cognizant of all of that. And so what we have to do is– is everything we can to– to pressure this regime, to pressure Kim Jong-un and those around him such that they conclude, it is in their interest to denuclearize. And there are really I think three critical things, came out of the president’s very successful summit with– President Xi of China that were different– that were different from past efforts to work with China, which has always been, you know, the– the desire, right, to work with China– on the– on the North Korean problem.

How many casualties will there be:

HH: In 1994, when the first North Korean deal with signed, the people who executed it, Gallucci, Dan Poneman, Joe Wit wrote a book. And they quoted a general saying, “If there is a conflict,” called Going Critical, “there will be a million casualties.” A million casualties. Is that still a good estimate of what happens if– preemptive strike unfolds in North Korea, General?

HRM: You know, one thing about war. It’s impossible oftentimes to predict. It’s always impossible to predict the future course of events. Because war is a continuous interaction of opposites, a continuous interaction between your forces and those of the enemy. It involves not just the capability to use force, but also intentions and things that are just unknowable at the outset. And so I think it’s important to– to look at– range of estimates of what could happen, because it’s clear that at war, it’s unpredictable. And so you always have to ask the question, “What happens next? What are the risks? How do you mitigate those risks?” And– and obviously, you know, war is– is– is the most serious decision any leader has to make. And so what can we do to make sure we exhaust our possibilities and exhaust our other opportunities to accomplish this very clear objective of denuclearization of the peninsula short of war?

Should Americans be concerned:

HH: How concerned should the American people be that we are actually on the brink of a war with North Korea?

HRM: Well, I think it’s impossible to overstate the danger associated with this. Right, the, so I think it’s impossible to overstate the danger associated with a rogue, brutal regime, I mean, who murdered his own brother with nerve agent in an airport. “I mean, think about what he’s done in terms of his own brutal repression of not only members of his regime but his own family,” McMaster added. http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2017-08-05/mcmaster-us-preparing-preventive-war-north-korea

This ‘defensive war’ seems like a one with a preemptive strike. Like in a real war.

As regular readers should be aware, I have warned for years that there could be military confrontation between the USA and North Korea. The British publication The Economist ran the following “what if” scenario should the USA and North Korea fight:

5 August 2017

IT WAS March 2019. …

Mr Kim had boasted since the start of the year that he would soon provide final proof that would convince the world to respect North Korea’s nuclear capability. If the North really carried out such a test, the electromagnetic pulse it would cause could take out satellites and damage power stations on the ground.

For Donald Trump, that would cross a red line. …

The president had thus far heeded the warnings of his defence secretary, Jim Mattis, and his national security adviser, H.R. McMaster. The risks of taking military action were too great, they had argued. But Mr Trump was no longer willing to listen. Mr Mattis was said to be on the brink of resignation, partly because he did not believe that Mr Kim was about to carry out an atmospheric test. Mr McMaster had been fired and replaced by John Bolton, a hawkish former ambassador to the UN who had been a prime mover for action to overthrow Saddam Hussein because of his supposed arsenal of weapons of mass destruction. Mr Bolton had told the president that a high-altitude test was imminent. He had long argued for doing whatever it would take to bring about regime change in North Korea.

Mr Trump did not necessarily want to go that far. China’s leader, Xi Jinping, had warned him that there would be “serious consequences” if such a step was being considered. It was not clear whether China would step in to help North Korea as it had in the past (the view in Washington was that it would not). What was not in doubt was its hostility to anything that might bring American forces north of the 38th parallel and close to China’s border.

South Korea’s president, Moon Jae-in, had at first been strongly against any pre-emptive strike, as his country would bear the brunt of any subsequent miscalculation by either side. But after bullying from Washington, he had reluctantly withdrawn his opposition. Mr Trump felt very strongly that he needed to show his supporters at home that he could still make tough decisions.

To that end, he had asked his military advisers to come up with a plan that would show he meant business; powerful enough to make Mr Kim think twice before hitting back, but not so drastic as to trigger war. After all, Mr Kim would surely realise that to do so would risk entering a cycle of escalation that would lead inexorably to his defeat and the obliteration of his dynasty—the very thing his nuclear programme had been designed to prevent. …

Mr Trump was warned, however, that although Mr Kim was thought to be rational, he faced political problems of his own and would have to react in some way. According to the most optimistic scenario, Mr Kim might feel that he could get away with a gesture, such as firing missiles at the outer islands, in an operation similar to the shelling of Yeonpyeong in 2010. He might also conclude that he could anyway stop testing for now, as he had credibly acquired the means to hit the continental United States.

The operation appeared at first to succeed. There was little unintended damage and not much indication whether the missile had been armed (nuclear weapons are designed to resist accidental explosion—the warhead is encased in a sturdy re-entry vehicle and detonation sequences have to be minutely timed). Despite the usual threats from Mr Kim to “wipe America off the face of the Earth” and to turn Seoul into a “sea of fire”, nothing appeared to happen. Mr Trump’s poll ratings spiked and he tweeted: “Fat Kim just got what he’s been asking for. SAD!” Triumphantly, he berated “my generals” for their caution which had stopped him from doing something similar sooner.

But even as Mr Trump was bragging about the success of the strike, Mr Kim was ordering elite units from his 180,000-strong special operations force to carry out a series of hit-and-run attacks on targets in the South. Some would infiltrate by using a network of tunnels running beneath the demilitarised zone (DMZ); others would be inserted from the sea by mini-submarines or flown in by ancient hedge-hopping An-2 biplanes that were hard for modern radars to spot. Meanwhile, North Korea’s navy had also begun laying mines in both the West and East seas in an effort to disrupt trade. A series of cyber-attacks on South Korea’s critical infrastructure also appeared to be under way. …

The allies could not be sure what Mr Kim planned next, so they had to prepare for the possibility that sabotage attacks were a prelude to a major offensive. With that in mind, the evacuation of foreign nationals, mainly from Seoul, had begun. These included some 150,000 American civilians, over 40,000 Japanese and up to 1m Chinese citizens. The evacuation was intended to send a strong message to the North that events were developing a momentum of their own.

American and South Korean commanders had recommended to their governments that they should prepare for the worst. …

American commanders decided that they should bring at least another 500 tactical aircraft into the theatre, both from carriers and from bases in America. They would be needed to maintain the sortie rate required to destroy North Korea’s air defences and then hit all the other targets, including both the ones that were already identified and also others that would emerge. Although it might take a few weeks, it would signal to North Korea the seriousness of their intent and might persuade Mr Kim not to press ahead with a wider attack.

Mr Kim was aware that time was against him. At this stage, he too hoped to avoid an all-out war, which beneath his usual bombast he knew he might lose. But the build-up of forces in the South, especially the rapidly increasing airpower that would soon allow his adversary to launch a pre-emptive attack against his most important weapons, convinced him that he had to fire a powerful warning shot of his own.

With over 14,000 artillery pieces, about 1,000 of them positioned in caves and bunkers within range of Seoul, he could do a lot of damage quickly. But unleashing the kind of barrage that his regime had threatened in the past would take him rapidly past the point of no return. He also had to decide how much of his long-range artillery force of 170mm guns and both 240mm and 300mm multiple-rocket launchers he was prepared to expose at this stage to counter-battery fire from the South. He therefore opted for a limited salvo that would last under an hour before pulling back his artillery to positions where it would be less vulnerable.

His message to Mr Trump was that this was just a taste of what South Korea and its allies could expect if he continued with his aggressive war plans. It failed to have the effect that Mr Kim was hoping for. Despite hints that he might stop there, with several thousand civilian and military casualties already sustained, American and South Korean commanders had to take action in case this was just the prelude to an all-out artillery barrage. …

The ferocity of the initial assault stunned Mr Kim. …

Faced with the imminent destruction of his regime, Mr Kim decided to go down fighting. …

The initial death toll was put at 300,000, but the effects of radiation would mean that many more would die in the months ahead, including large numbers of American civilians and service personnel. Mr Trump was advised that he had no option other than to retaliate with a nuclear strike on the North. The decision was taken to use America’s latest nuclear bomb, the guided B61-12, dropped by a B2 stealth bomber. …

China found itself facing a humanitarian catastrophe on its border. It claimed that lethal radioactive material was being blown into Chinese cities by disrupted weather.

Nobody knew how an appalled President Xi would respond. The shock sent stockmarkets across the world reeling, foreshadowing a global recession to come. Mr Trump, however, was undaunted. He tweeted: “Nuke attack on Seoul by evil Kim was BAD! Had no choice but to nuke him back. But thanks to my actions, America is safe again!” https://www.economist.com/news/briefing/21725763-everyone-would-lose-how-nuclear-war-korea-could-start-and-how-it-might-end

While not all of that would likely happen, the fact is that North Korea is capable of militarily causing deaths in South Korea, striking out at the USA via terrorism, and even attempting some type of EMP (electromagnetic pulse) disaster for the USA.

The USA recentlysent out a new aircraft carrier, the USS Gerald Ford. It has been in the works for some time, but now may have involvement with North Korea. The US has also been testing its Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) system (see US claims a successful THAAD test: A message to North Korea?). The US wants more THAAD systems in South Korea in the event of conflict with North Korea. The hope is that THAAD could knock out missiles from North Korea so that less would die in South Korea. How well that will work is anyone’s guess, but most feel that it will not be 100% successful and that people in Seoul, South Korea will die in the event of a missile assault from North Korea.

North Korea will NOT continue as it has been.

It has severe economic problems and leadership issues. Its people have been suffering for decades and are in my prayers.

With new sanctions, North Korea’s leadership may get more desperate.

While the USA can defeat North Korea militarily, understand that North Korea could try to set off a nuclear device (either through a launch or through some other means, including covert terroristic ones) or take other military actions that could hurt South Korea or the USA. As reported here before, some believe it may attempt to hurt the USA through electromagnetic pulse (EMP) weapons (see North Korea poses electromagnetic-pulse threat to USA).

We seem to be entering a troubling time (cf. Mark 13:8; Revelation 6:3-4). The time of the second horseman, perhaps as early as next month.

Deaths of Ronnie McGowen and Art Mokarow

COGwriter

Saw reports of the deaths of LCG minister Ronnie McGowen and former WCG minister Art Mokarow:

I did not know Ronnie McGowen personally. But shared this for those who may have known him and/or his family.

It is reported that Art Mokarow died (no date provided). Here is an obituary, the name of the writer was not included in what was online, that is to run in the Chicago Tribune:

It was a very sad day when I realized, Art was never coming back home and then you begin to think of all the things one should have done. We were married almost 67 years. He took his shower every morning and got dressed and walked in to our glass-in porch where he would look at all the roses, crepe myrtles, the hummingbirds and all of the birds who seemed to chirp for him. He would tell me what he wanted for breakfast. He spent five or six hours writing, reading and studying. In the evening he came into the study for dinner. But, I must start at the beginning. It all started in Russia. Art’s grandmother, on his mother’s side ( Efimov ) had a grandfather who was a high bishop in a part of Russia. “Good works” were part of the grandmother’s character, so because my mother was poor Art’s grandmother arranged to bring my mom to America. She was responsible for many of the young adult children of her friends who wanted to come to America. Later in 1923 when my mother and father were married without knowing any English (my mother washed floors and my father was a factory worker). They bought real estate and got rich enough to pay cash for everything they wanted for the rest of their lives. In 1930 my mother wanted to start a family. When I was born my mother wanted Art’s mother to be my godmother but the grandmother said “no” the reason being , Art was 3 years old and I was 3 months old and if we ever decided to ever marry one day in the Russian Orthodox Church, we would be considered related ( though there was no blood relationship) 19 years later Art and I met accidentally and six months later we were married. Art had been in the Navy for two years so he still had a semester left of college. He was offered a scholarship in Virginia for football but being in Hawaii searching for hurricanes and getting seasick in The Navy he only wanted to stay in Chicago and be with his family and friends. He became a manager in the worlds largest auto insurance company. He accomplished in 6 years what it 20 years for their most successful managers to accomplish. Art hired and trained 18 successful offices. The company wanted to hire him as one of the executives at headquarters. Art made the decision that he did not want to move 150 miles away so he declined. Then the church we belonged to, wanted Art to become a minister. It would be a feather in these minister’s cap to get a good speaker and a successful business man but again we didn’t want to move so for six months they exerted tremendous pressure on us telling us by not doing it we didn’t want to do god’s work. So, we went to headquarters. Art raised churches in Ohio, Michigan and a small part of Canada. After 10 years, he was placed as a trainer of ministers worldwide at the Church’s headquarters. Then it came to light that the founder of the church was heavily involved in financial improprieties. The leader spent over 40 million dollars personally. We gave our resignation that day and never contacted the thousands of church people we knew. Art became a business consultant for nine years. So, after 9 years we retired and moved to Texas. After a few years, Art decided to form another consulting business so family members could have a job. We thought it would be a consulting business but a whiskey company wanted to be in the credit card business so for 15 years Art had a wildly successful credit card company. The family members were too interested in worldly things so Art decided to sell the family business. We were bought by a bank who was being bought (along with our company) by another bank. It was over a three-year period so Art came in to the office every day ready to teach the two new managers everything they needed to hire and train new salesman. But they were set in their ways, their style of sales expected the business to come to them. So, Art sat there with nothing to do and he began to write books, His first book was 500 pages and within thirteen years Art wrote 148 books and we have sent or had downloaded one million books to 90 countries 100% free and free postage. No donations were, and are never accepted. It was a way to give back and be thankful for all the gifts we received for being in this wonderful country. Art was a man among men, honest, never authoritative, a hard worker, a top student in high school and summa cum laude at DePaul university sharing the highest honor with a fellow student. Everyone seemed to like him (but I don’t think some ministers who were jealous not to have his character) He never drank (except in early years having wine with dinner) Never had a temper, never swore (except once or twice H—) never told dirty jokes, was a good son (my mother loved him) a good husband and father. He loved to watch the birds that chirped for him, the flowers that bloomed for him. Art was a man who excelled in everything he did. The only sadness I have is “Art will never be coming home” I will truly miss him and I was honored to be his wife. He will truly be missed.

Published in a Chicago Tribune Media Group Publication from Aug. 11 to Aug. 13, 2017

Art Mokarow was once an influential minister in the old Worldwide Church of God. I found him to be an inspirational speaker. He fell out of favor with various ones because of his involvement with WCG’s Quest magazine.

He later left WCG  became an ‘independent.’

I spoke to him several years ago when I was researching accusations against the late Herbert W. Armstrong. To make a long story short, the ‘proof’ of something he allegedly had was not as I had been told. Anyway, when much younger, I would drive for hours to hear him. He had a unique understanding, and in some points he had great understanding.

Did Jesus fail?

Jimmy Carter

COGwriter

Was Jesus a failure?

The following was posted last night, by World Net Daily’s editor Joseph Farah, that I saw today:

Definition of irony? Jimmy Carter thinks Jesus failed

August 4, 2017

I was reading with interest a Religion News Service story about 92-year-old Jimmy Carter teaching a Bible study at Maranatha Baptist Church in his old hometown of Plains, Georgia.

I’m always interested in Bible studies. So, I was curious what the former president would have to say. …

To show you how out of touch with reality and the Bible Jimmy Carter is, according to this story, former President Malaise thinks, at least from one perspective, Jesus’ life was a failure. The only other information we get from the story – which, to my knowledge, has not been repudiated by Carter – is that the reason Jesus’ life was a failure was because, “His message was rejected by the religious authorities of his day and he was betrayed by disciples and crucified by the Romans.”

Excuse me for pointing out that Jesus’ very mission was to be “rejected by the religious authorities of his day, to be betrayed by some of his disciples and crucified by the Romans.” That was the plan all along. He knew it and willingly accepted His fate for expiating the sins of the world for those who would accept Him as Messiah, Lord, Son of God and Savior. So, I am still left wondering how Jesus failed in any way, shape or form. …

Jesus, in fact, came as a harbinger of what all the prophets from Creation forward pointed to – the ultimate restoration of the whole earth under His Kingship, the restitution of all things, as Peter called it, a Garden of Eden-style Earth under his wings. But He did not promise following Him would lead to a full, fruitful, happy and peaceful existence before the Kingdom was restored.

Ahhh, but that Kingdom will be ruled by Jesus from Jerusalem. And you should know that Carter believes Jerusalem is not the eternal capital of Israel, but the unfairly occupied territory of his buddies – the Palestinian Muslims. http://www.wnd.com/2017/08/definition-of-irony-jimmy-carter-thinks-jesus-failed/

Jimmy Carter, despite doing a Bible study and claiming to be a Christian, has many problems understanding the Bible. Though I do not believe that he was teaching that Jesus was a failure, he mainly seemed to suggest that we should not judge success improperly. Why do I conclude this? Notice more about Jimmy Carter’s message:

PLAINS, Ga. (RNS) — We wake at 5 a.m. because we are told everyone in our hotel has come for the same reason — to see 92-year-old Jimmy Carter, the 39th president of the United States, conduct Bible study at Maranatha Baptist Church. …

Today, he says, we’ll be reviewing “one of the most difficult sections of the Bible.” …

From one perspective, he suggests, Jesus’ life was a failure. His message was rejected by the religious authorities of his day and he was betrayed by disciples and crucified by the Romans.

Carter suggests redefining what constitutes a successful life. “What kind of a person do I want to be?” he poses. “We make decisions about what kind of person we want to be and how we want to live the rest of our lives.” https://religionnews.com/2017/07/31/a-bible-study-led-by-92-year-old-jimmy-carter-is-a-sight-to-behold/

Actually, the real question is, “What kind of person does God want you to be?” (see also What is the Meaning of Life?).

Perhaps it should be mentioned that a couple of years ago, in perhaps what was the worst thing Jimmy Carter could have done for the USA at that time was to falsely claim that Jesus would endorse homosexual marriage (see Jimmy Carter claims Jesus would endorse homosexual marriage).

But the point of this post is not Jimmy Carter, but to point out that Jesus did not fail. The failure many have in understanding this fact is that they have listened to false and heretical teachers and do not understand Jesus’ message.

Which was?

Well, according to the New Testament, Jesus started out proclaiming and preaching the good news of the Kingdom of God:

14 Now after John was put in prison, Jesus came to Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, 15 and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel.” (Mark 1:14-15)

43 “I must preach the kingdom of God to the other cities also, because for this purpose I have been sent.” (Luke 4:43)

The English word “kingdom” for this particular kingdom is mentioned approximately 149 times in the NKJV and 151 in the Douay Rheims Bible in the New Testament. Kingdoms require a king, territory, subjects, and laws (for more information, see also The Gospel of the Kingdom of God).  To help us become part of that kingdom, God loved humans so much that He sent Jesus to die for us (John 3:16-17). Jesus will come to the earth and His Kingdom will eliminate pain and sorrow (Revelation 21:4).  That truly is good news.

Of course, to be part of this kingdom requires repentance of sins (Acts 2:38), the sacrifice of Christ (Hebrews 10:12-14), the grace of God (Ephesians 2:8-9), the acceptance of Jesus Christ as savior (Titus 2:11-14), proper baptism (Acts 2:39), the keeping of the commandment to “walk just as He walked” (1 John 2:3-6), having the Spirit of God (Romans 8:9-11) and allowing Jesus to live His life in us (Galatians 2:20).  The fact that sinners will be saved is also part of the gospel.  This is also good news.

Despite what the Jews expected, Jesus did not come to live as a ruling king with His first appearance.

He came as the lamb of God:

29 The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world! (John 1:29).

A lamb to be sacrificed.

He was prophesied to die for us:

1 Who has believed our report? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed? 2 For He shall grow up before Him as a tender plant, And as a root out of dry ground. He has no form or comeliness; And when we see Him, There is no beauty that we should desire Him. 3 He is despised and rejected by men, A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him;He was despised, and we did not esteem Him. 4 Surely He has borne our griefs And carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted. 5 But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed. 6 All we like sheep have gone astray; We have turned, every one, to his own way; And the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all. 7 He was oppressed and He was afflicted, Yet He opened not His mouth; He was led as a lamb to the slaughter, And as a sheep before its shearers is silent, So He opened not His mouth. 8 He was taken from prison and from judgment, And who will declare His generation? For He was cut off from the land of the living; For the transgressions of My people He was stricken. (Isaiah 53:1-8)

And He did:

7 … For indeed Christ, our Passover, was sacrificed for us.  (1 Corinthians 5:7).

Notice that this was part of the plan from the beginning as Jesus was:

8 … the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world (Revelation 13:8).

So, while some may have seen that as failure, it was part of the plan.

Many seem to think that there is a war between Satan and God and that Satan is winning. They do not understand how Satan and what is happening on this planet fits in with God’s plan.

Some falsely think that God is calling all now, and that since most people have not been truly converted since Jesus came, they feel that God’s plan does not work–or at least not well. Thus, Jesus is supposedly a failure.

As most who profess Christ know, the Apostle Paul taught:

8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast (Ephesians 2:8-9).

Since we are saved by grace, is God’s grace so limited that He will only save a minority of humans who ever lived? If God is all-knowing, does He have a plan that will fail to fully grant His grace to most humans?

The Protestants teach that relatively few humans will ever experience God’s grace. They often quote John 3:16:

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)

But fail to understand the ramifications of the next verse:

17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved (John 3:17).

Jesus came so that as many as could truly wish to be saved, will be saved. If not in this age, then in the age to come.

Notice also:

27 And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment, 28 so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation.  (Hebrews 9:27-28)

So, there are parts of the plan AFTER Jesus returns again.

Joseph Farah mentioned the restitution of all things. A restoration will occur in the millennial portion of the Kingdom of God.

But another will be after the second resurrection and judgment.

What will happen during that judgment?

Although “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23), and all then will be found guilty, Jesus taught that those blinded do not have their blindness held against them (John 9:41; cf. Isaiah 6:9-13). This is most likely part of why scripture shows:

6…all flesh shall see the salvation of God (Luke 3:6).

2 O You who hear prayer, To You all flesh will come (Psalms 65:2).

13 Therefore the Lord said: “Inasmuch as these people draw near with their mouths And honor Me with their lips, But have removed their hearts far from Me, And their fear toward Me is taught by the commandment of men, 14 Therefore, behold, I will again do a marvelous work Among this people, A marvelous work and a wonder; For the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, And the understanding of their prudent men shall be hidden.”…24 These also who erred in spirit will come to understanding, And those who complained will learn doctrine. (Isaiah 29:24)

16 I will bring the blind by a way they did not know; I will lead them in paths they have not known. I will make darkness light before them, And crooked places straight. These things I will do for them, And not forsake them. 17 They shall be turned back, They shall be greatly ashamed, Who trust in carved images, Who say to the molded images, ‘You are our gods.’ 18 “Hear, you deaf; And look, you blind, that you may see. (Isaiah 42:16-18)

10 The LORD has made bare His holy arm in the eyes of all the nations; And all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God (Isaiah 52:10).

When people are no longer blind and Satan (“the god of this world,” 2 Corinthians 4:4, KJV) is cast into the lake of fire (Revelation 20:10), the White Throne Judgment will begin (Revelation 20:11-12), and salvation will be offered to all who were blinded to it before (cf. Romans 11:7,17).

“Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?” (Genesis 18:25).

God is just and God will do right.  All who ever lived will have a real opportunity for salvation.

When Revelation 20:12 states, “And the dead were judged,” we in CCOG believe that these people actually get judged. Yet, certain Protestants claim that these people are “the wicked dead,” which implies that they were judged and sentenced prior to the time of the Great White Throne Judgment.

While the apparent majority of mainstream Protestants and Roman Catholics teach that most will suffer eternal torment, the Bible shows that “mercy triumphs over judgment” (James 2:13). The Bible shows that God will plead with all flesh (Jeremiah 25:31; Isaiah 3:13) and that many will respond (Isaiah 42:16-18; 65:24; Ezekiel 11:16-20;36:24-38; Hosea 2:23).

Although not all will accept God’s offer of salvation, and this is not a second chance (those who truly had a chance and rejected God’s Holy Spirit will not get that opportunity to be forgiven per Mark 3:29), most will accept it and repent.

We in the Philadelphia portion of the Church of God believe that God is wise enough and loving enough to have a plan whereby salvation will be offered to all, and accepted by most.

We in the Continuing Church of God teach that most who ever lived will accept God’s generous offer (cf. Psalm 107:1-3; Matthew 8:11; Psalm 66:3) of salvation through Jesus (Acts 4:10-12) —who came so that all might be saved (John 3:16-17).

(More on God’s plan can be found in the article Universal Offer of Salvation: There Are Hundreds of Verses in the Bible Supporting the Doctrine of True Apocatastasis.)

It is the true God, that those in the true Church of God worship, who is truly the God of grace. The true God, who is love, will grant His grace to everyone who will accept! God’s plan will work:

24 The LORD of hosts has sworn, saying,”Surely, as I have thought, so it shall come to pass, And as I have purposed, so it shall stand (Isaiah 14:24).

Does God have a purpose, a plan, that will grant grace to most or few? Does anyone doubt that God has had thoughts about granting His grace to everyone?

A God of love has a purpose to share His grace with more than a minority of humans who are predestined to be called in this age–an opportunity, according to Jesus, will occur in “the age to come” (Matthew 12:32; cf. Matthew 10:15).

Since the Bible teaches that there is a time before children can “know to refuse the evil and choose the good” (Isaiah 7:16) and that there is only one name under heaven by which salvation is available (Acts 4:12), how can young children and infants, for example, be judged and condemned for their works?

Most Protestants teach that one is either saved or likely permanently lost (however many seem to put babies, mentally challenged people, and very young children in the category that they are saved without first accepting Jesus Christ–an unbiblical concept). The general Protestant belief (babies notwithstanding) suggests that all the ‘unsaved’ are in the same situation. This does not seem to square with what Jesus taught in Matthew 11:23-24:

And you, Capernaum, who are exalted to heaven, will be brought down to Hades; for if the mighty works which were done in you had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day. But I say to you that it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of judgment than for you.

(Jesus taught the same basic thing regarding Chorazim being contrasted with Tyre, and Sidon, Luke 10:13). Now God destroyed Sodom for its wicked works (Genesis 18:20;19:24)–wicked works, that according to Paul’s writings make it impossible for them to inherit the Kingdom of God (Galatians 5:19-21). If what most Protestants believe is correct, then all in Sodom will be destroyed and will be no better off than those in Capernaum–which is a clear contradiction of what Jesus wrote.

Furthermore, Jesus did not let those in Capernaum know all that He did (though He did do miracles there, Luke 4:23), Matthew 8:4-5:

And Jesus said to him, “See that you tell no one; but go your way, show yourself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses commanded, as a testimony to them.” Now when Jesus had entered Capernaum…”

Also, He spoke to them in unclear language, like parables (John 6:41-59). So, we see that many wanted to see, but were not allowed to. Why?

The following scriptures show that only some are now called:

1 Peter 2:9-10, “But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light”.

Ephesians 1:4-6, “just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will”.

Thus, only some are predestined to be chosen now.

And the time is soon coming when all the nations will get a witness.

Jesus wanted the gospel to be proclaimed to the world as a witness as well as to make disciples who would follow His practices:

14 “And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come” (Matthew 24:14).

19 “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen. (Matthew 28:19-20)

Many do not quite understand many ramifications of those statements (for more information see Hope of Salvation: How the Continuing Church of God differ from most Protestants and Universal Offer of Salvation: There Are Hundreds of Verses in the Bible Supporting the Doctrine of True Apocatastasis).

Jesus knew His church would fulfill those commands as He also taught:

18 … I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it. (Matthew 16:18)

That true church is still around today and has been working to fulfill Jesus’ statements in Matthew 24:14 and Matthew 28:19-20. For more information, see also Continuing History of the Church of God.

God has a plan that does work. A plan that takes into account human weaknesses and experiences.

Protestants, like Jimmy Carter, really have not understood the truth about the good news of the coming Kingdom of God that Jesus proclaimed.

But you can.

Jesus did not fail. And He wants you to succeed as well–if you will heed His call.

Swedish SDA member wants people to know how vaccines are really made

Friday, August 4th, 2017

COGwriter

A Seventh-day Adventist sent me the following today:

https://youtu.be/PgDNLsEZiyg

_____________________________Let us work together to replace our church´s condemnable pro-vaccine stance with a credible, neutral vaccine policy!

Lars Kullberg

A Seventh-day adventist in Karlstad, Sweden

Anyway, I watched the short video (it is about 4 minutes and 11 seconds long) related to the ACAM2000 smallpox vaccine. Readers may find the video of interest. The particular vaccine in the video involves cruelly giving monkeys a disease and eventually mixing an extract of a live virus from monkey kidneys with parts of pigs and other animals.

The video also mentions side effects of this particular vaccine. So to determine its credibility, I went to the US FDAs official website. Here is what it says about it.

Are there any possible side effects associated with the use of ACAM2000?
Yes, health complications can occur after receiving the vaccine, and the risk of experiencing serious side effects must be weighed against the risk of experiencing a potentially fatal smallpox infection.

The vaccine may cause myocarditis and pericarditis, which are inflammation and swelling of the heart and surrounding tissues and can be very serious. Based on clinical studies, myocarditis and/or pericarditis occur in 1 in 175 adults who get the vaccine for the first time.

In the ACAM2000 clinical trial experience, seven individuals of the 2,983 ACAM2000 first-time recipients and three individuals of the 868 Dryvax first-time recipients were suspected to have myocarditis/pericarditis. There were no cases in those subjects who had been vaccinated previously.

Serious health problems, including those that are life-threatening, can also occur in unvaccinated people who are accidentally infected by someone who has recently received the vaccine. In particular, unvaccinated people who are pregnant, or have problems with their heart or immune system, or have skin problems like eczema, dermatitis, psoriasis, and have close contact with a vaccine recipient are at an increased risk for serious problems if they become infected with the vaccine virus, either by being vaccinated, or by being in close contact with a person who was vaccinated. It is very important for the ACAM2000 recipient to properly care for the vaccination site to prevent the virus in the vaccine from spreading and infecting another part of the body and other people.

These types of serious adverse events are similar to those that occurred in the past with other smallpox vaccines.

More commonly observed side effects include: itching, sore arm, fever, headache, body ache, mild rash and fatigue.

Who should not be immunized with ACAM2000?

A healthcare provider may decide not to give ACAM2000 if a person has a weakened immune system (e.g., leukemia, HIV, AIDS, transplant recipients, people with cancer that has spread, and those undergoing treatment with medicines that suppress the immune system such as steroids, prednisone, and cancer drugs). In addition, healthcare providers may decide not to vaccinate individuals with skin conditions such as eczema, dermatitis or psoriasis who are at increased risk of complications. https://www.fda.gov/BiologicsBloodVaccines/Vaccines/QuestionsaboutVaccines/ucm078041.htm

Now, before going further, it should perhaps be pointed out that the above study was not published in a journal indexed by PubMed. That does not mean it is good or bad, only that it is not a journal that the US NIH is referencing. Here is a link to the entire study: http://www.rescuepost.com/files/mawson-et-al-2017-vax-unvax-jnl-translational-science.pdf

An earlier email from the same SDA member stated “Let us work together to replace our Church´s condemnable pro-vaccine stance with a credible, neutral vaccine policy!” and:

Our Church leaders will have us believe that their vaccine policy is supported by the Bible and by Ellen White, but nothing could be more untrue. To imply that our Savior condones the horrendous practice of injecting people – and babies in particular – with toxic chemicals is to insult God. 1 Corinthians 6:19.

Neither does “peer-reviewed scientific literature” support our Church´s pro-vaccine stance, for there is no solid evidence proving vaccines prevent diseases. When vaccination campaigns started, the epidemics had already declined and were almost gone. We got rid of them due to improved sanitation and living conditions, clean water, and better food – not because of vaccines.

Lars Kullberg,

a Seventh-day Adventist Church member in Karlstad, Sweden

It is not just the SDA church. Many Protestant and COG groups have taken a similar position, basically for legal reasons. Generally speaking the Church of Rome and many Protestant churches are generally pro-vaccine.

Years back, the fairly pro-vaccine publication Consumer Reports mentioned that vaccinations seem to increase the probability of developing asthma. The State of California used to allow parents to not vaccinate their children, but now they are forcing the issue as are other governments. Let me state that having met with health officials in California, including giving testimony about two decades back before the Assembly Health committee, I have seen first hand how certain decisions appear to be made, and money and political considerations are normally more important than health and true public welfare.

The Bible teaches:

10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. (1 Timothy 6:10)

Someone in the World Health Organization (WHO) was relieved of his job a while back when the Europeans realized that he overly pushed flu vaccines two years in a row using scientifically-unsound scare tactics and had ties to the company making certain flu vaccines. Do not think that money and greed play no role in the politics of vaccinations.

Of course, vaccines per se are not a massive doctrinal issue, but the trend around the world is to reduce rights of parents and others who have concerns about them. Much of the world is moving towards a more totalitarian government–and moving away from religious freedom.

My wife and I did not vaccinate any of our three children. Nor has she or I had any vaccines in adulthood despite traveling to various countries around the world.

Am I saying that all vaccinations are necessarily wrong?

No.

If I had to get a shot to visit some country to do the work (Matthew 24:14; 28:19-20), I would do it. (Some countries require vaccines to enter them.)

Yet, I also do not believe that one must intentionally expose oneself or ones’ children to the pathogens and other elements involved with vaccines. Nor do I believe that vaccines should be mandated to parents.

The old Radio Church of God published the following back in 1961:

One doctor states that polio is caused by a weakened physical constitution and that health-promoting foods can prevent polio completely. Children who indulge in soft drinks (especially “colas”), candy, over-sweetened and refined, starchy foods, are the greatest sufferers of polio. POLIO IS UNKNOWN in countries where people live on NATURAL foods — raw milk, whole-grain cereals, fruits and vegetables — and do not have our refined, devitalized, demineralized foods, candies and soft drinks. …

The main diet of many people, especially children, in summer (the polio season) consists of colas, soft drinks, candy, hot dogs, hamburgers and ice cream. If we would replace this “junk” with substantial meals of fresh fruits, melons, milk, vegetables and protein foods (meat, fish, poultry and eggs), then we would have greater resistance to polio and other diseases. Also, there would be almost no tooth decay. Vaccination does not eliminate the CAUSE of disease — that of WRONG LIVING HABITS! Disease is caused by wrong eating, living and thinking! Our WAY OF LIFE must be changed in order to eliminate sickness and disease. This can only be done by following the principles of life — the basic laws of health — given by our Creator in His Word, the Bible. (Boraker R. The TRUTH About DRUGS and VACCINES. Good News, August 1961)

People should eat what is good (Isaiah 55:2) and try to live in accordance with God’s laws of health.

Let’s all remember that Jesus said that a time of pestilences would come (Matthew 24:7-8). Vaccines will NOT stop this from happening, and could possibly make it worse. In an old radio broadcast, the late Herbert W. Armstrong stated:

Jesus said in Matthew 24, and speaking in verse 8 of the pestilence and of the famine that is to come; and we’re getting a foretaste of it and there is a terrific national drought coming that will be accompanied by such disease epidemics that one third of our people are going to drop dead; and in spite of all polio vaccines and everything of the kind my friends, things are coming that doctors will never know anything about or be able to cope with. It is in your Bible.

Vaccines are not going to save society (see also Fourth Horseman of the Apocalypse).

Decades ago, the late Dr. Ernest Martin wrote:

Leading doctors have warned that there is no substitute for clean living – that drugs cannot nullify the damage done by wanton breaking of all health laws – and that wholesale vaccinations can weaken man’s overall natural resistance to disease. But as long as we appear to be well, almost no one gives these warnings a second thought.(Martin E. Will we ever learns? Plain Truth, August 1965)

Turning from sin, eating only what is good, and obeying sanitary principles in the Bible are more effective than vaccines.

As far as the SDA church goes, it has less emphasis on health than it did when it formed in the 19th century, plus it has gone through other changes as well.

In the Continuing Church of God, we send, to our members who request it, a letter for religious exemptions to vaccines. However, with laws in places like the State of California, such letters are generally ignored (which differs from the past). Even if the SDA church became anti-vaccine, its influence on that would be minimal.

Martin Schultz blasts Donald Trump: Some EU leaders believe they would ‘win’ a trade war with the USA

Friday, August 4th, 2017

Martin Schultz (Source: YouTube)

COGwriter

Germany’s Martin Schultz is one who believe that it is time to Make Europe Great Again (MEGA). He and certain other leaders in Europe wish to confront the USA on trade:

4 August 2017

FORMER EU boss Martin Schulz has called on the EU to defend itself against Donald Trump and his ‘reckless’ trade policy.

In a scathing attack by former EU boss, Schulz calledc for the EU to resist the USA’s sanctioning policy on trade.

He told German media in Berlin today: “Europe must defend itself against the reckless American trade policy.”

He complained: “The US administration stands for an uncompromising ‘America First’. With the confirmation of the sanctions against Russia, the US president continues to pursue a policy of abolishing trade agreements, new penalties and ever new attacks against free trade, which he has pursued since starting office.

“The European Union and Germany would have to stand by the affected companies – and by their employees.”

Donald Trump has signed a law passed by Congress this week that is restricting trade with certain nations including Russia, North Korea and Iran. There is concern that this will also affect the EU among Brussels elites.

Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said the USA had declared a comprehensive trade war on Russia with the move. http://www.express.co.uk/news/world/836677/Donald-Trump-twitter-threat-whole-world-Germany-Martin-Schulz

4 August 2017

Observers have reacted with alarm after senior EU officials appeared to deliberately goad president Donald Trump, telling him they were ready for an economic conflict which they would win. …

The EU has been angered by two measures proposed by Mr Trump in recent weeks which could potentially have a negative impact on European businesses. …

Europe has convinced itself that it is the new global champion of free trade and that it needs to take Mr Trump down a peg or two over his contentious “America first” policies.

EU leaders have reacted bullishly to Mr Trump’s proposals, with Mr Juncker saying the bloc is ready to hit back within days and vowing: “America First cannot mean that Europe’s interests come last.” http://www.express.co.uk/news/politics/836918/European-Union-EU-boss-Juncker-slammed-Trump-US-trade-war-threat

Various ones in Europe have warned of a possible trade war with the USA because of the sanctions’ bill (e.g. ‘Germany calls for EU countermeasures against US following Russian sanctions’). Yet, generally speaking, no one really “wins” a trade war. Trade wars are normally costly economically, but sometimes have political benefits (which is often why they are waged).

This talk of trade wars is something I have warned about on this page for years. Notice something I posted back in 2008:

Negotiations will continue and some type of loose agreements will happen. In the spirit of accommodation and personal interest, many of the “standards” of the European Union will be adopted by the USA, Canada and Mexico, as well as by nearly all of the countries of the world. The Arab nations will most likely agree with many of the standards as they seem to be destined to form a brief end-time alliance with the Europeans (The Arab World In the Bible, History, and Prophecy).

However, over time, it will become increasingly clear that the British will be in more agreement with the Canadians and Americans and that the European Union in more agreement with the Mexicans than the EU will have with the English-speaking nations.

Trade wars and/or serious trade disputes will most likely arise.

The Brits will ultimately decide that they are more supportive of the Americans and Canadians. They will be so much more supportive that they will end up in a trading agreement with them (with the Australians and New Zealanders probably also becoming part of that agreement).

The EU will decide that Mexico and the rest of Latin America are in more agreement with it and thus make some type of serious trading agreement with most (or all) of Latin America. The Vatican will also have influence here as Latin America is highly Roman Catholic.

The Europeans and Americans, however, will continue to have military agreements, though many will be tense about them. (Thiel B. A Combined EU & North American Trade Block Coming? COGwriter.com, March 3, 2008)

The fact of Brexit and the EU’s responses to the UK and Donald Trump have been be pushing the Brits to conclude that they need to move closer to the USA on trade.

Trade wars have been listed as part of the Twelve ‘grey swan’ events to watch for in 2017. We also put together a YouTube video titled Trade Wars: Are COG warnings coming to pass?

Trade disputes look to be a factor that will lead to World War III.

While Europe may or may not ‘win’ in its current trade complaints with the USA, the time will come when there will be a trade issue that will be a factor in Europe deciding it needs to takeover the USA. Although most today feel that it is impossible for the USA to be defeated militarily by Europe, the Bible teaches that it will come to pass (cf. Daniel 11:39; see also USA in Prophecy: The Strongest Fortresses).

Does Europe intend to be “great again”?

Yes.

One way certain EU leaders are hoping to do this is to put down US President Donald Trump and use him as a reason that Europe needs to get closer together. A reader sent me the following that was published online yesterday related to an interview with Martin Schultz:

DER SPIEGEL: Before the U.S. election, you told us that as president of the United States, Donald Trump would be “not only a problem for the EU, but also for the entire world.” You were right.

Schulz: It has actually been far worse. http://www.spiegel.de/international/germany/german-chancellor-candidate-schulz-trump-far-worse-than-expected-a-1161253.html#ref=nl-international’

So both a major German publication (Der Spiegel) and a major German political leader are stating that Donald Trump is a problem for the EU and the entire world. This is a way to be anti-American without stating so directly.

Notice something someone forwarded me in an email earlier this year:

The “Anti-Trump”

In its political PR, Berlin is extolling its struggle for free trade, as a struggle for “liberal values” – a travesty, in view of the EU’s deadly repulsion of refugees or the close cooperation with repressive regimes such as the dictatorships on the Arabian Peninsula. This PR, however, has success, thanks to widespread international indignation over the new US President’s racist-chauvinist policy. Chancellor Merkel had already assumed this posture in her first reaction to Donald Trump’s election victory. (german-foreign-policy.com reported.[9]) Wolfgang Ischinger, Chair of the Munich Security Conference, has expressed a similar view. “The United States, unfortunately, no longer qualifies as the West’s symbol of political and moral leadership,” Ischinger declared last weekend. “The advent of Trump, signifies the end the West, with the USA as the torchbearer.” Now it is up to Europe “to replace this loss, so that the West does not completely loose out as the model and example” on issues, such as “human rights, liberty, dignity and the role of the individual.”[10] German media have already begun to attribute the role of the “Anti-Trump” to President-elect Frank-Walter Steinmeier.[11] This is remarkable considering the former head of the Chancellery’s involvement in Germany’s support for the CIA’s program of kidnappings and torturing of suspects. (german-foreign-policy.com reported. [12]) https://glblgeopolitics.wordpress.com/2017/02/16/torchbearer-of-the-west/#more-34815

More and more in Europe are pointing to Donald Trump to push the rise of Europe.

I actually warned about this before his election (see ‘Why Europe Secretly Roots For Donald Trump’?) and we are seeing more validation of that warning.

The Bible shows that the European Beast will rise again and the world will marvel:

1 Then I stood on the sand of the sea. And I saw a beast rising up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and on his horns ten crowns, and on his heads a blasphemous name. 2 Now the beast which I saw was like a leopard, his feet were like the feet of a bear, and his mouth like the mouth of a lion. The dragon gave him his power, his throne, and great authority. 3 And I saw one of his heads as if it had been mortally wounded, and his deadly wound was healed. And all the world marveled and followed the beast. 4 So they worshiped the dragon who gave authority to the beast; and they worshiped the beast, saying, “Who is like the beast? Who is able to make war with him?”(Revelation 13:1-4)

The world will marvel because it never considered that Europe could rise up and actually overtake the USA (Daniel 11:39), its Anglo-Saxon allies (Daniel 8:24-25; Jeremiah 30:7), and others (Daniel 11:40-43) militarily.

The Bible also shows that Europe will also become the world’s premier economic power, for a time, and then that will end disastrously:

9 “The kings of the earth who committed fornication and lived luxuriously with her will weep and lament for her, when they see the smoke of her burning, 10 standing at a distance for fear of her torment, saying, ‘Alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city! For in one hour your judgment has come.’

11 “And the merchants of the earth will weep and mourn over her, for no one buys their merchandise anymore: 12 merchandise of gold and silver, precious stones and pearls, fine linen and purple, silk and scarlet, every kind of citron wood, every kind of object of ivory, every kind of object of most precious wood, bronze, iron, and marble; 13 and cinnamon and incense, fragrant oil and frankincense, wine and oil, fine flour and wheat, cattle and sheep, horses and chariots, and bodies and souls of men. 14 The fruit that your soul longed for has gone from you, and all the things which are rich and splendid have gone from you, and you shall find them no more at all. 15 The merchants of these things, who became rich by her, will stand at a distance for fear of her torment, weeping and wailing, 16 and saying, ‘Alas, alas, that great city that was clothed in fine linen, purple, and scarlet, and adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls! 17 For in one hour such great riches came to nothing.’ Every shipmaster, all who travel by ship, sailors, and as many as trade on the sea, stood at a distance 18 and cried out when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, ‘What is like this great city?’

19 “They threw dust on their heads and cried out, weeping and wailing, and saying, ‘Alas, alas, that great city, in which all who had ships on the sea became rich by her wealth! For in one hour she is made desolate.’

20 “Rejoice over her, O heaven, and you holy apostles and prophets, for God has avenged you on her!” (Revelation 18:9-20)

However, despite biblical prophecies, various ones in Europe are pushing for its rise.

The push to make Europe great again by having a stronger Europe will not end well for the world nor for Europe itself.

Yet, because most political leaders do not properly respect the Bible, they do not realize that what they are advocating will end in death and destruction (cf. Proverbs 14:12; 16:25).

The Bible shows that Europe will be a great power (Revelation 17 & 18), have a “great army” (Daniel 11:25), will persecute God’s people (Daniel 7:25; 11:29-35; Revelation 13:7), takeover many countries (Daniel 8:24-25, 11:39-43), lead the world to the brink of destruction (cf. Matthew 24:21-22), and ultimately be destroyed (Daniel 11:44-45; Revelation 19).

But many are foolishly, and unknowingly, working towards that end. Some are pointing to Donald Trump and his policies as a reason to do so.

The Bible is clear that Europe will reorganize (Revelation 17:12-13) and become a power that God will one day destroy (Revelation 17:14; Daniel 2:44).

Many are using the election of Donald Trump as an excuse to accelerate the rise of Europe. This will ultimately not end will for Europe or the world. But Jesus will return and establish the Kingdom of God.

Pope Benedict XVI with Eucharist Host during Mass (Fabio Pozzebom/ABr)

COGwriter

Here is some of what one of Mike Gendron’s August newsletters (2015) had to say about the Roman Catholic Mass and Eucharist:

Catholics must attend the weekly sacrifice of the Eucharist in order for the sins committed during the previous week to be forgiven. According to the Catechism, “The Eucharist is a sacrifice because it re-presents the sacrifice of the cross…the sacrifice of Christ and the sacrifice of the Eucharist are one single sacrifice: The victim is one and the same. In this divine sacrifice…the same Christ who offered himself once in a bloody manner on the altar of the cross is contained and is offered in an unbloody manner…this sacrifice is truly propitiatory” (CCC para. 1366,1367). In other words, Catholics are taught that divine justice (for their sins) is satisfied every time the Eucharist is offered to God.

Catholics are also taught that their redemption comes through the ongoing sacrifice of the Eucharist. “Every time this mystery is celebrated, the work of our redemption is carried on” (CCC, para. 1405). This blatantly denies the testimony of Scripture. When Jesus…”entered the holy place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption” (Heb. 9:12).

Catholics are given no choice but to believe these deceptive teachings. If they deny the physical presence of Jesus in the Eucharist, they are condemned by their religion. “If anyone denies, that in the sacrament of the most Holy Eucharist, are contained truly, really and substantially the body and blood together with the soul and divinity of our Lord Jesus Christ, and consequently the whole Christ…let him be anathema” (Canon 1, Council of Trent).

Mike Gendron is a former Roman Catholic.

Let me add that yes, the Bible is clear that Jesus only needed to be sacrificed once. Mike Gendron quoted part of Hebrews, let’s see it in context:

11 But Christ came as High Priest of the good things to come, with the greater and more perfect tabernacle not made with hands, that is, not of this creation. 12 Not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption. (Hebrews 9:11-12)

Although Jesus wanted His followers to have an annual memorial of His death (called Passover), Jesus does not need to be ‘re-sacrificed’ weekly or daily (Catholic priests are expected to do this through the Mass ritual each and every day).

As far as the round host goes, early Christians did not use one. A careful comparison of what is taught in the Bible and the Catechism of the Catholic Church along with eucharistic practices should make this clear to any truly interested in the truth.

Article 3, under the Seven Sacraments of the Church in the Catechism of the Catholic Church discusses the eucharist. Section II asks and answers the question, What is this Sacrament Called? Several names are listed, including “The Breaking of Bread” (#1329).

It also states the following:

1339 Jesus choose the time of the Passover…And he took bread, and when he had given thanks he broke it and gave it to them…(Catechism of the Catholic Church. Imprimatur Potest +Joseph Cardinal Ratzinger. Doubleday, NY 1995, p. 373)

Now the above is scriptural. Here are some related scriptures from Catholic translations of the Bible:

19 And the disciples did as Jesus appointed to them, and they prepared the pasch.

26 And whilst they were at supper, Jesus took bread, and blessed, and broke: and gave to his disciples, and said: Take ye, and eat. This is my body. (Matthew 26:19,26 Douay-Rheims)

22 And whilst they were eating, Jesus took bread; and blessing, broke, and gave to them, and said: Take ye. This is my body. (Mark 14:22, Douay-Rheims)

19 And taking bread, he gave thanks, and brake; and gave to them, saying: This is my body, which is given for you. Do this for a commemoration of me. (Luke 22:19, Douay-Rheims)

Notice, it is very clear that Jesus BROKE the bread on Passover (Pasch means Passover).

The Apostle Paul confirmed that it was the practice of the early Christians to break bread:

16 The chalice of benediction, which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ ? And the bread, which we break, is it not the partaking of the body of the Lord? (1 Corinthians 10:16, Douay-Rheims).

23 For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, that the Lord Jesus, the same night in which he was betrayed, took bread.

24 And giving thanks, broke, and said: Take ye, and eat: this is my body, which shall be delivered for you: this do for the commemoration of me. (1 Corinthians 11:23-24, Douay-Rheims)

The Apostle Paul followed Jesus’ practice and broke bread. Furthermore, notice what The Catholic Encyclopedia teaches in its article “Host”:

…the first Christians…simply used the bread that served as food. It seems that the form differed but little from what it is in our day. The loaves discovered in an oven of a bakery at Pompeii weighed about a pound each. One of these, being perfectly preserved, measured about seven inches in diameter and was creased with seven ridges which facilitated the breaking of the loaf without the aid of a knife. (Leclercq, Henri. “Host.” The Catholic Encyclopedia. Vol. 7. Nihil Obstat. June 1, 1910. Remy Lafort, S.T.D., Censor. Imprimatur. +John Cardinal Farley, Archbishop of New York. New York: Robert Appleton Company, 1910. 28 Feb. 2011 <http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/07489d.htm>)

Notice that the article in The Catholic Encyclopedia basically says that the practice of the first Christians, which is consistent with the Bible, was to use normal loaves of bread that resemble what is still in use today. And that it was broken. (The article never says where the round host actually came from, other than it was first mentioned in writing in the fourth century by Epiphanius and that earlier paintings in catacombs and bas-reliefs showed something like that. But I should state that the oldest early painting in a catacomb I am aware of has a woman, Priscilla, presiding over the ceremony, so the Church of Rome may wish to be careful about relying on that as they do not allow women to do that. Hence, the earliest picture of the eucharist host did not come from what is practiced in today’s Roman Catholicism–so the question from whence the Catholics adopted it remains.)

Thus, to have a Passover/eucharistic ceremony where the bread is not broken is certainly not imitating Jesus, the Apostle Paul, nor the early Christians. It is a change that the Church of Rome must have gotten outside of the Bible.

Yet, in the eucharistic ceremonies in the Catholic Church, the bread is not broken. Instead, it is a round host that the Catechism of the Catholic Church says can/should be worshipped and adored (CCC #1378, p. 385). Yet, there is no indication that the early Christians or the apostles did anything like that.

They basically taught that it was to be eaten.

Worshipers of sun-gods worshiped round symbols. Early Christians did not.

As far as the word “host”, The Catholic Encyclopedia teaches:

The bread destined to receive Eucharistic Consecration is commonly called the host , and though this term may likewise be applied to the bread and wine of the Sacrifice , it is more especially reserved to the bread.

According to Ovid the word comes from hostis, enemy: “Hostibus a domitis hostia nomen habet”, because the ancients offered their vanquished enemies as victims to the gods. However, it is possible that hostia is derived from hostire, to strike, as found in Pacuvius. (Leclercq, Henri. “Host.”)

The word “host” (or derivatives) do not appear to be a direct translation of any of the original Hebrew or Greek that the Bible was actually written in. Hence, it does not seem to be a biblical term, but instead may have pagan ties according to certain Catholic researchers. Does anyone really think that Jesus wanted to be considered the “host” of pagan militaristic rituals?

Since it did not come from the Bible, the Eucharistic Host is not holy.

Perhaps it should also be mentioned that some Roman Catholic priests have raised concerns about eucharistic ceremonies in languages other than Latin. Notice the following:

Latin Mass…The truth is — in English, Italian, and Spanish, among others — the vernacular translations of the consecration of the wine makes it of doubtful validity…as has been demonstrated by Father Paul Kramer in his book The Suicide of Altering the Faith in Liturgy (Gruner N, Priest. Is Antichrist Coming Next? The Fatima Crusader, 96, Autumn 2010, p. 10).

Above all, be faithful to the Traditional Latin Mass. (Rodrigues M, Priest. God is Love, God is Truth. The Fatima Crusader, 115, Summer 2016, p. 18)

Now, in case anyone is unaware of this, it should be pointed out that the original apostles spoke Greek (cf. Acts 21:37-39) and other languages, but there is no indication that any of them used Latin in any early Christian ceremony (and even if they did, it certainly was not a widespread, or universal, practice–nor is it ever mentioned in the Bible).

Even Tertullian, the so-called “father of Latin theology” did not begin to write until around 190 A.D. Latin mass is a CHANGE. Those who are true traditionalists would realize that the original and early Passover services were not done in Latin and there is no valid reason to insist on Latin today. Those who insist on Latin and those who use a round host are absolutely altering the liturgy of the faith of the original Christians.

Cannot those who claim to be Catholic traditionalists see this? There are also ties with Egyptian pagan gods, etc. with the round host. For some details, check out Marcus, the Marcosians, & Mithraism: Developers of the Eucharist?

Ecumenical Protestants

While Protestants do not always use the round eucharist host, many Protestants are working with the Church of Rome and promoting Pope Francis and his interfaith/ecumenical agenda.

Mike Gendron had the following related to that:

Rick Warren to Speak at Papal Mass

More than 1.5 million people are expected for the Mass with Pope Francis in Philadelphia in September during the World Meeting of Families. Some of the speakers listed include Cardinal Tagle of Manila, Cardinal Sean O’Malley of Boston, Scott Hahn, Rick Warren and Rabbi Abraham Skorka. Underlining the ecumenical and interfaith element of the meeting, Archbishop Chaput said 30 percent of the speakers would be non-Catholic…

Mike’s Comment. The Vatican has been looking for compromisers in the evangelical world… Rick Warren, pastor of Saddleback Church in southern California, has been an easy target for many years. In a recent interview he said, “We have far more in common (with Catholics) than what divides us. We believe in the trinity…”…

Worship Pastor Encourages Unity with Rome

Darlene Zschech, who has published many popular worship albums under Integrity Music and Hosanna labels, is calling for her followers to unite with Roman Catholics. Her most popular Christian hymn has been “Shout to the Lord.” Last week, she performed on stage as a headliner at the Vatican’s Renewal of the Holy Spirit rally. On her Facebook page, Zschech breathlessly gushed, “The prep has begun in Rome. I can feel the prayers. Honoured to be singing this week, with Andrea Bocelli, Don Moen (Praise & Worship Leader), Noa (Achinoam Nini) with Pope Francis and thousands of worshippers gathering in St. Peter’s Square at the Vatican. This is a celebration of unity and peace in the Renewal of the Holy Spirit. Amazing days for the Body of Christ.”

The ecumenical and interfaith movements are not Christian. It is warned about in the Bible (Revelation 17-18). It is only after Babylon falls (Zechariah 2:6-7) and Jesus returns that true Christian unity will occur (Zechariah 2:10-11). The Bible warns that God’s people are NOT to be part of the movement that exists before Jesus returns (Revelation 18:4; watch also Do You Know That Babylon is Forming?).

Protestant leaders like Rick Warren and Darlene Zshech presumably have read the Bible, but obviously do not understand much of it (and if so, Darlene Zshech would not be functioning as a ‘worship pastor,’ see also Women and the New Testament Church).

Pope Francis is using the anniversary of the Protestant Reformation as an ecumenical opportunity (watch Pope Francis’ Celebration of Reformation’s 500th Anniversary). Instead of denouncing that, many Protestant leaders are embracing him and his agenda.

While I have many doctrinal difference with Mike Gendron, I do agree with him that the eucharistic practices of the Church of Rome go against the Bible and the Protestants involved with Pope Francis’ ecumenical plans are also going against what God wants.
