US President Joe Biden has called Chinese President Xi Jinping a dictator at a fundraising event in California.

His remarks came a day after US Secretary of State Antony Blinken met Mr Xi for talks in Beijing, which were aimed at easing tensions between the two superpowers. …

“The reason why Xi Jinping got very upset, in terms of when I shot that balloon down with two box cars full of spy equipment in it, was he didn’t know it was there,” Mr Biden said at the event on Tuesday.

“That’s a great embarrassment for dictators. When they didn’t know what happened,” he added.

The balloon, which China says was monitoring weather, drifted across the continental US before being destroyed by American military aircraft in February. …

China’s foreign ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning called Mr Biden’s remarks “extremely absurd and irresponsible”. Speaking at a regularly scheduled press conference on Wednesday, she said that the comments were “an open political provocation” that violated diplomatic etiquette. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-65969802

China did not like this. Voice of America added:

Responding to Biden’s comments Wednesday, Beijing slammed them as an “open political provocation.”

“The relevant remarks by the U.S. side are extremely absurd and irresponsible, they seriously violate basic facts, diplomatic protocol and China’s political dignity,” Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning told a briefing.

“China is strongly dissatisfied with and firmly opposed to this,” she said.

Biden, who at 80 is running for re-election, on Tuesday waved off concerns about the Asian giant, telling donors that “China has real economic difficulties.”

Still on the subject of China and Xi, Biden said “we’re in a situation now where he wants to have a relationship again.”

Blinken “did a good job” on his Beijing trip, but “it’s going to take time,” Biden added.

The U.S. president did bring up another prickly point regarding communist-ruled China: a recent summit in which leaders of Australia, India, Japan and the United States — known as the Quad group — sought to boost peace and stability in the Asia-Pacific maritime region.

The four countries are “working hand in glove in the South China Sea and the Indian Ocean,” Biden said.

“What he (Xi) was really upset about was that I insisted that we unite the… so-called Quad,” Biden said.

Remarks by Joe Biden related to Saudi Arabia have also been a factor in the Saudis becoming closer to China.

Anyway, because China is upset by Joe Biden’s comments, it is likely to take additional steps–militarily and otherwise–that the USA does not like. The USA, then, would also be expected to take steps.

During the the Obama-Biden Administration it developed it’s Asian pivot policy–which was a cornerstone of Hillary Clinton’s Department of State.

Hillary Clinton is considered to have been an early promoter of what has been called the pivot strategy towards Asia (Clinton, Hillary. America’s Pacific Century. Foreign Policy, November 2011; Clinton, Hard Choices, pp. 41-46). The result of this ‘Asian pivot’ has partially been responsible for a decreased USA military presence in Europe.

As China’s influence increases, the USA wants to take steps to halt it and increase its own influence. It, along with the UK and Australia formed the AUKUS alliance that China and Europe have problems with (see also ‘China lashes out at AUKUS after deal to develop hypersonic weapons’).

Although the USA tried to ‘make nice’ towards China within the past week, Joe Biden’s comments probably unraveled whatever progress was made.

A major blind spot in USA and UK foreign policy is the fact that its leaders do not believe and understand biblical prophecy.

Because of that, various administrations have made major policy moves which is what pushed Europe to increase its military potential.

During the Obama-Biden Administration, the Europeans became incensed about U.S.A. and U.K. espionage, to the point that various Europeans believe this has caused irreparable damage to relations (see also The Snowden Leaks are Leading to the Destruction of the USA). The Obama-Biden Administration also pushed the Europeans to spend more on their militaries. Then the USA got Donald Trump, which further infuriated the Europeans. Donald Trump also pushed the Europeans to spend more on their militaries. His election also led them to decide to form a pan-European military organization called the Permanent Structured Cooperation, PESCO (watch PESCO and a Great European Army). Then Russia’s ‘special military operation’ into Ukraine, has further driven the Europeans to develop a stronger military (watch  Is the European Beast Growing Horns?).

All of this will hurt the U.S.A. and U.K. later, as the Bible shows they will be taken over by a European power called the King of the North (Daniel 8:24-25, 11:39).

Furthermore, the Apostle Paul warned:

20 Do not despise prophecies. 21 Test all things; hold fast what is good. 22 Abstain from every form of evil. (1 Thessalonians 5:20-22)

The USA, Australia, and U.K.’s political leadership basically do despise prophecies, do not test all things, do not hold fast to what is good, and most certainly do not abstain from every form of evil–sadly, it encourages evil in many ways.

None of this means that the USA, Austrlia, and UK have no legitimate concerns about China.

But, while the USA, Australia, and UK focus more on China, they will not see what is prophesied to rise up in Europe.

Scientists realize that the universe is expanding and that ‘spontaneous generation’ is impossible

Scientists have concluded that the universe will continue to expand forever:

Those of us in the Churches of God have long believed this based, not upon telescopic images, but the following scriptures:

7 Of the increase of His government and peace There will be no end (Isaiah 9:7).

33 And He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there will be no end. (Luke 1:33)

The only way for God’s kingdom to continue to increase forever is if the universe expands forever.

Now, this expansion view causes scientists a problem.

Which is?

That it means that the universe had a beginning.  Of course, Bible believers have always know this as the Bible starts out with the following:

1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. (Genesis 1:1)

Yet, as certain scientists did not want to accept that the universe had a beginning, some instead tended to want to believe a certain type of nonsense called the oscillating universe theory. I always felt that theory violated the known laws of physics and was an attempt by some scientists to try to persuade themselves that the universe had no beginning and that there was no God (for more details, see the article Is God’s Existence Logical?).

Furthermore, notice a statement from Nobel Prize winner Dr. George Wald, from Harvard University related to the origin of life:

The reasonable view was to believe in spontaneous generation (life from nothing); the only alternative, to believe in a single, primary act of supernatural creation. There is no third position . . . One has only to contemplate the magnitude of this task to concede that the spontaneous generation of a living organism is impossible. (Scott I. The God Solution: Are You Ready? Xlibris Corporation, 2013, p. 41)

Believing something that is impossible is not scientific–accepting evolution as the origin of life is another false religion.

Therefore, the acceptance of a supernatural creation (Genesis 1) is the only scientific option according to statements like the above.

Sadly, scientists are still not generally, publicly ready to embrace the idea of a Creator.

But the fact that they are starting to admit that the universe will expand forever and their explanation for life is impossible, hopefully means that they are distancing themselves away from the oscillating universe theory and the spontaneous evolutionary emergence of life.

And without those theories, they have to admit that the universe had a beginning in a specific point in time and some supernatural being started life.  And the Bible is clear about that (Genesis 1:1).

‘America has less than a decade to turn itself around’

Well, that didn’t take long.

From the time the US government managed to sign the debt ceiling resolution, it took just thirteen days for the national debt to soar by nearly $600 billion.

At that pace, they added over $500,000 to the national debt every second.

The US national debt has now breached $32 trillion… meaning America’s debt-to-GDP ratio is now 121%. Historically, advanced nations tend to get into trouble when debt-to-GDP reaches around 90%. The US is way past that threshold — but I’ll return to that point in a moment.

First, any time there’s a discussion about the national debt, invariably some idiot says something stupid like “the debt doesn’t matter because we owe it to ourselves.”

This is one of these irrational aphorisms (like “silence is violence”) that people like to repeat over and over again until they believe it to be true. But it’s not true. The debt matters. But let’s first examine who owns it:

Foreign governments like China, Japan, and Saudi Arabia hold a combined $7.4 trillion of US debt.

The Federal Reserve owns $5.1 trillion of US debt.

Social Security owns another $2.7 trillion of US debt, which of course is money owed to American retirees. Similarly, the Military Retirement Fund holds about $1.36 trillion. …

Then there are countless businesses and individuals around the world who own US government debt, simply because Treasury Bonds are considered “risk free”.

Now, when people say that “we owe it to ourselves”, they mean that most of the debt is NOT owed to foreigners. And this is true. Foreigners own just under 25% of the debt.

But does that make it OK to default on the other 75%? Is it somehow acceptable to default on banks across America, which bought US Treasuries with their customers’ money? Is it OK to default on 50+ million Social Security recipients? Or military retirees?

I do not believe it is likely that the USA will be around in a decade. The USA needs national repentance and is not there.  Instead it promotes immorality and increases debt.

As I have warned for years, the USA will continue to increase its debt.

Increasing debt plays a role in inflation and many in the US are suffering because of that.

Now, consider that the USA is basically believed to be the richest nation of all time.

Yet, it is also the most indebted nation of all time (though some reports suggest that China may be catching up).

The USA is addicted to debt.

Its lusts for debt brought the following scripture to mind:

15 The leech has two daughters —
Give and Give!

There are three things that are never satisfied,
Four never say, “Enough!”: (Proverbs 30:15)

The USA has acted like an international leech.

Its leaders never have enough, so they continually take advantage of the USA dollar’s position as the world primary reserve currency and feel that they can get away with increasing debt without consequence.

That is wrong.

The USA also has no intention in ever properly paying its debts back.

That is wicked:

21 The wicked borrows and does not repay, But the righteous shows mercy and gives. (Psalms 37:21)

Shortly after becoming US President, Barack Obama said that the levels of deficit spending that the USA was engaging in was “unsustainable.” By definition, something that is unsustainable cannot continue indefinitely. The rise of USA debt is unsustainable, yet it is continuing.

The rise of US debt was listed by me as number 11 of 23 items to prophetically watch in 2023 (here is a link to a related sermon 23 things to prophetically watch in 2023). Here is part of what that article states:

11. Debt

The Bible teaches that the result of debt accumulation will  be far worse than even many pessimists believe. Here is an end-time prophecy given to the prophet Habakkuk by God over 2600 years ago:

2 And the Lord answered me:

“Write the vision;
make it plain on tablets,
so he may run who reads it.
3 For still the vision awaits its appointed time;
it hastens to the end—it will not lie.
If it seems slow, wait for it;
it will surely come; it will not delay.

4 “Behold, his soul is puffed up; it is not upright within him,
but the righteous shall live by his faith.

5 “Moreover, wine is a traitor,
an arrogant man who is never at rest.
His greed is as wide as Sheol;
like death he has never enough.
He gathers for himself all nations
and collects as his own all peoples.”

6 Shall not all these take up their taunt against him, with scoffing and riddles for him, and say,

“Woe to him who heaps up what is not his own—
for how long?—
and loads himself with pledges!”
7 Will not your debtors suddenly arise,
and those awake who will make you tremble?
Then you will be spoil for them.
8 Because you have plundered many nations,
all the remnant of the peoples shall plunder you,
for the blood of man and violence to the earth,
to cities and all who dwell in them. (Habakkuk 2:2-8; English Standard Version)

The USA is the most indebted nation in the history of humanity and those in it should try to understand this prophecy. Perhaps it should be noted that the United Kingdom and Canada have about a similar massive per capita debt to that of the USA.

Notice the following levels of official US debt:

  • January 20, 2009, $10,626,877,048,913.08, date Obama-Biden Administration inaugurated.
  • January 19, 2017, $19,944,429,217,106.77, date Obama-Biden leave office, replaced the next day when Trump-Pence inaugurated.
  • January 19, 2021, $27,752,835,868,445.35, date Trump-Pence leave off, replaced the next day when Biden-Harris inaugurated. https://fiscaldata.treasury.gov/datasets/debt-to-the-penny/debt-to-the-penny

Official US debt nearly doubled under the Obama-Biden Administration. It also greatly increased in four years under the Trump-Pence Administration. It has also increased in that near two years of the Biden-Harris Administration–and further increases are expected. There is also Federal Reserve balance sheet debt that is not counted these figures.

Expect official US debt to increase in 2023.

The USA is walking a dangerous line on its debt that will not end well.

The Anglo-American world order will come to an end. Accumulation of debt, and then having to pay historically ‘normal’ interest rates will strain the national economies of the USA and UK more than almost anyone will believe.

Those who think the current world order with the USA’s dollar on top will last through the end of this century are in error.

Those who will believe the Bible will take the words that God spoke to the prophet Habakkuk seriously

The Bible warns that debt, and having to borrow from foreigners, is a curse that would hit those who received various biblical blessings as they became more disobedient (Deuteronomy 28:15,43-46).

The debt of the USA nearly doubled under the presidency of Barrack Obama, greatly increased under the presidency of Donald Trump, and is continuing to rise under the presidency of Joe Biden. The admitted national debt is over $29 trillion, and this does not include state or local government debt, corporate debt, or personal debt.

Debt will increase in 2023.

Have you been paying attention to this?

Continually increasing debt is not good–biblically it is considered as a curse.

15 “But it shall come to pass, if you do not obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe carefully all His commandments and His statutes which I command you today, that all these curses will come upon you and overtake you: (Deuteronomy 28:15)

43 “The alien who is among you shall rise higher and higher above you, and you shall come down lower and lower. 44 He shall lend to you, but you shall not lend to him; he shall be the head, and you shall be the tail.

45 “Moreover all these curses shall come upon you and pursue and overtake you, until you are destroyed, because you did not obey the voice of the Lord your God, to keep His commandments and His statutes which He commanded you. 46 And they shall be upon you for a sign and a wonder, and on your descendants forever.

47 “Because you did not serve the Lord your God with joy and gladness of heart, for the abundance of everything, 48 therefore you shall serve your enemies, whom the Lord will send against you, in hunger, in thirst, in nakedness, and in need of everything; and He will put a yoke of iron on your neck until He has destroyed you. 49 The Lord will bring a nation against you from afar, from the end of the earth, as swift as the eagle flies, a nation whose language you will not understand, 50 a nation of fierce countenance, which does not respect the elderly nor show favor to the young. 51 And they shall eat the increase of your livestock and the produce of your land, until you are destroyed; they shall not leave you grain or new wine or oil, or the increase of your cattle or the offspring of your flocks, until they have destroyed you. (Deuteronomy 28:43-51)

The end result of the coming massive financial crisis will be the END OF THE USA!

Now, the reason I quoted two articles in this post that mention the Republicans ‘Freedom Caucus’ is not because I am a Republican, but because of the following scripture:

7…And the borrower is servant to the lender.

Being a servant to debt is not freedom.

As far as some other scriptures to consider, notice the following:

8 He who sows iniquity will reap sorrow,
And the rod of his anger will fail. (Proverbs 22:7-8)

6 “Will not all these take up a proverb against him,
And a taunting riddle against him, and say,
‘Woe to him who increases
What is not his — how long?
And to him who loads himself with many pledges’?
7 Will not your creditors rise up suddenly?
Will they not awaken who oppress you?
And you will become their booty. (Habakkuk 2:6-7)

Since the moral direction of the USA is going in the wrong direction, it is understandable that debt will increase. This is leading to a real disaster in the future. The USA also cannot expect to lead the world economically for that long if it is going to continue to increase its debt–that is not based on any conspiracy but economic fact as well as insight from biblical prophecy (cf. Habakkuk 2:6-8).

But no, the politicians of the USA have not listened to the Bible.

The USA still has a massive pride about its dollar. Yet, the Bible teaches:

18 Pride goes before destruction, And a haughty spirit before a fall. (Proverbs 16:18)

It is prideful arrogance that gets humans to think that they can essentially completely control the economy and just borrow and print up money. They cannot. Weather, political events, diseases, wars, morality, technology, international matters, and other factors play a role.

The Anglo-American world order will come to an end. Accumulation of debt will end up being a financial crisis beyond what most “experts” and politicians have imagined.

National repentance is needed, but is not expected. The USA and its Anglo-Saxon allies will not last to the end of this century (watch also Might the U.S.A. Be Gone by 2028?).

On June 3, 2023, US President Joe Biden signed a bill to increase the official debt-ceiling of the United States. According to its Treasury the “ceiling” has been changed, increased, or delayed 78 other times. The official debt has nearly tripled since the Obama-Biden Administration. The official debt increased about $2 trillion per year under Donald Trump’s Administration and has done close to that in the Joe Biden Administration. While the USA has been able to increase debt with limited consequences (like inflation) so far, does the Bible show this can end in destruction? The UN’s new fact-checking system is going to be a game changer, but so far the mainstream media is being really quiet about it.

Perhaps that is because they don’t want millions of us to object to this sort of tyranny.

The UN developed iVerify in conjunction with big tech companies and Soros-funded organizations, and it will be used to crack down on “disinformation” and “hate speech” all over the globe…

The United Nations has unveiled an “automated” fact-checking service to counter so-called disinformation and hate speech on the internet in a project partnered with Big-Tech and Soros-funded organisations.

In response to what they brand as “online information pollution”, which they claim is a “global challenge”, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has launched its iVerify platform to counter alleged disinformation and hate speech online.

The global body’s “automated fact-checking tool”, was developed in partnership with the United Nations International Computing Centre (UNICC), Facebook and Google-funded fact checker Meedan, the Meta-owned CrowdTangle, and the Soros-funded International Fact-Checking Network (IFCN).

Increased censorship endorsed by the UN is not a surprise.

In late 2021, I went to the UN United Nations Counter-Terrorism Executive Directorate CTED website, which contains statements including the following:

Initiatives for countering incitement and violent extremism can take many forms. Common to many approaches is an emphasis on dialogue, inclusion, and the promoting of understanding, including in the fields of education and religion. CVE measures also include gender-sensitive and age-appropriate initiatives to counter terrorist narratives, both online and offline, to promote alternative visions based on respect for human rights and human dignity, partnerships with the private sector and working with internet communications technologies (ICT). accessed 12/05/21 https://www.un.org/securitycouncil/ctc/content/countering-violent-extremism-and-terrorist-narratives

The above is basically saying that the UN will use propaganda to try to counter views it considers to be extreme.

In other words, the UN has an agency attempting to control narratives to get views it opposes removed from the internet, while also pushing views it wants accepted.

The Talmud (97a) goes into great detail describing the conditions in the days preceding the final redemption. One condition is based on a prophecy written in the Book of Isaiah.

And so redress is turned back And vindication stays afar, Because honesty stumbles in the public square And uprightness cannot enter. Honesty has been lacking, He who turns away from evil is despoiled.” Hashem saw and was displeased That there was no redress. Isaiah 59:14-15

The Talmud explains the verse:

What is the meaning of the phrase: And the truth is lacking [ne’ederet]? The Sages of the study hall of Rav said: This teaches that truth will become like so many flocks [adarim] and walk away. What is the meaning of the phrase: “And he that departs from evil is negated”? The Sages of the study hall of Rabbi Sheila said: Anyone who deviates from evil is deemed insane by the people.

Rabbi Yosef Berger, the rabbi of King David’s Tomb on Mount Zion, explained that the information revolution initiated by advances in technology made the dissemination of information far easier and widespread but at the same time, made truth entirely subjective.

“In Judaism, a Torah scroll is handwritten, copied letter by letter from an existing Torah scroll,” Rabbi Berger said. “Inspection of Torah scrolls from thousands of years ago prove that this method of transmission is very accurate and results in faithful copies. Even after thousands of years and Jews being exiled to every nation, the Torah of the Jews remains a universal truth that does not change.”

“For thousands of years, no one denied the Torah was truth and no one could deny a truth that was seen by all. Now, something could be on the internet today and tomorrow it will be forgotten and a new truth will take its place. Regarding the Hunter Biden matter, that was reported about here earlier (see Censorship, Hunter Biden, and Hypocrisy) and reportedly he is going to plead guilty to various things today (see Hunter Biden will plead guilty in a deal that likely avoids time behind bars in a tax and gun case).

That being said, it is not just the Hebrew scriptures or the Jewish Talmud that warns people will not hear the truth. Notice the following from the New Testament about what will happen prior to the Messiah’s return:

13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived. (2 Timothy 3:13, KJV)

12 … they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness. (2 Thessalonians 2:12, NKJV throughout unless otherwise specified)

Not only is there prophesied an increase in deceit, the Bible prophecies totalitarian controls (cf. Revelation 13).

The grim fate that could be ‘worse than extinction’

If a malevolent group or government suddenly gained world-dominating power through technology, and there was nothing to stand in its way, it could lead to an extended period of abject suffering and subjugation. A 2017 report on existential risks from the Global Priorities Project, in conjunction with FHI and the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland, warned that “a long future under a particularly brutal global totalitarian state could arguably be worse than complete extinction”.

Singleton hypothesis

Though global totalitarianism is still a niche topic of study, researchers in the field of existential risk are increasingly turning their attention to its most likely cause: artificial intelligence. …

“In totalitarian regimes of the past, [there was] so much paranoia and psychological suffering because you just have no idea if you’re going to get killed for saying the wrong thing,” he continues. “And now imagine that there’s not even a question, every single thing you say is being reported and being analysed.”

“We may not yet have the technologies to do this,” Ord said in a recent interview, “but it looks like the kinds of technologies we’re developing make that easier and easier. Totalitarianism will be implemented in much less than 100 years–I currently expect it within a decade or so–we have already seen signs blamed on COVID-19.

Billionaire Elon Musk declared he was worried that artificial intelligence (AI) may lead to the rise of an “immortal dictator,” a “godlike” entity that could take over the world. Is this accurate, or at least, close in some ways? Does Bible prophecy foretell of the rise of an immoral leader who considers himself above all gods? Will this result in great destruction? What is AI? How might it fit in with various prophecies? Was the increase in technological knowledge we now have prophesied over 2000 years ago? The UN, Big Tech, various governments, and others are using algorithms and AI to censor and block information.

Biblically, we know that more censorship is prophesied as the prophet Amos warned:

11 “Behold, the days are coming,” says the Lord God,
“That I will send a famine on the land,
Not a famine of bread,
Nor a thirst for water,
But of hearing the words of the Lord.
12 They shall wander from sea to sea,
And from north to east;
They shall run to and fro, seeking the word of the Lord,
But shall not find it. (Amos 8:11-12)

Notice that the Bible tells of a time that will come when the word of God will not be found. I do not believe that this means that there will be no more Bibles–but preaching aspects of it will be made illegal and that those wanting to better understand it will have trouble finding explanations.

There are statements and doctrines in the Bible that many in the United Nations do not want publicized.

Canadian censoring of the Bible In 2017, Lauri Skori of the Battle River School board told a religious school in Alberta, Canada that it could not teach/read certain portions of the Bible. In 2017, there was “An Act to Amend the Canadian Human Rights Act and Criminal Code” related to those who wish to be considered transgendered. Sunday is World Refugee Day. June 20 is a day designated by the United Nations to honor and celebrate the world’s refugees.

UNCHR, the U.N.’s refugee agency, says World Refugee Day is “an occasion to build empathy and understanding” for the plight of refugees and to recognize their resilience in rebuilding their lives.

U.S. President Joe Biden said in a statement Sunday, “Today, I join people around the globe in commemorating World Refugee Day, a day when we recognize the courage and humanity of the millions forced to flee violence, persecution, and war.”

Biden also said, “On this day, we reaffirm our sacred commitment to alleviate suffering through humanitarian relief, and redouble our efforts to achieve lasting solutions for refugees—including through resettlement. We also recommit to engaging in diplomatic efforts to bring an end to the ongoing conflicts that compel refugees to seek safety elsewhere.”

There are more refugees today than there have ever been, UNHCR reports, despite the restrictions and closures imposed on people and countries because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

UNHCR said in a statement that, “the number of people fleeing wars, violence, persecution and human rights violations in 2020 rose to nearly 82.4 million,” a number representing a “4% increase on top of the already record-high 79.5 million at the end of 2019.”

“And what is quite shocking,” UNHCR Assistant High Commissioner Gillian Triggs told VOA’s Laurel Bowman, “is that over the last 10 years the numbers of people who are refugees or forcibly displaced has more than doubled. Something like 48% are children or youths, so we really have generations of children who are separated from their countries of origin.”

UNHCR urges the world to remember that “Behind each number is a person forced from their home and a story of displacement, dispossession and suffering. The primary causes of the refugee situations around the world include war, political considerations, religious persecution, and economics.

After the millennial Kingdom of God is established, the time will come when every one will have their own home (cf. 1 Kings 4:25, Micah 4:4) and wars will cease:

1 Now it shall come to pass in the latter days
That the mountain of the Lord’s house
Shall be established on the top of the mountains,
And shall be exalted above the hills;
And peoples shall flow to it.
2 Many nations shall come and say,
“Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord,
To the house of the God of Jacob;
He will teach us His ways,
And we shall walk in His paths.”
For out of Zion the law shall go forth,
And the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.
3 He shall judge between many peoples,
And rebuke strong nations afar off;
They shall beat their swords into plowshares,
And their spears into pruning hooks;
Nation shall not lift up sword against nation,
Neither shall they learn war anymore.

4 But everyone shall sit under his vine and under his fig tree,
And no one shall make them afraid;
For the mouth of the Lord of hosts has spoken.
5 For all people walk each in the name of his god,
But we will walk in the name of the Lord our God
Forever and ever. (Micah 4:1-5)

However, before then, there will come another time when all real Christians will be subject to intense persecution (see also Persecutions by Church and State).

But this will come in stages. First, mainly the faithful Philadelphia Christians will be affected:

25 He shall speak pompous words against the Most High, Shall persecute the saints of the Most High, And shall intend to change times and law. (Daniel 7:25a)

33 And those of the people who understand shall instruct many; yet for many days they shall fall by sword and flame, by captivity and plundering. 34 Now when they fall, they shall be aided with a little help; but many shall join with them by intrigue. 35 And some of those of understanding shall fall, to refine them, purify them, and make them white, until the time of the end; because it is still for the appointed time. (Dan 11:33-35)

13 Now when the dragon saw that he had been cast to the earth, he persecuted the woman who gave birth to the male Child. (Rev 12:13)

The Philadelphia Christians who survive will then be protected:

7 “And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write,

‘These things says He who is holy, He who is true, “He who has the key of David, He who opens and no one shuts, and shuts and no one opens”: 8 “I know your works. See, I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it; for you have a little strength, have kept My word, and have not denied My name. 9 Indeed I will make those of the synagogue of Satan, who say they are Jews and are not, but lie — indeed I will make them come and worship before your feet, and to know that I have loved you. 10 Because you have kept My command to persevere, I also will keep you from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth. (Revelation 3:7-10)

The Philadelphia Christians flee to become refugees in a place in the wilderness:

14 But the woman was given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness to her place, where she is nourished for a time and times and half a time, from the presence of the serpent. 15 So the serpent spewed water out of his mouth like a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away by the flood. 16 But the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed up the flood which the dragon had spewed out of his mouth. (Revelation 12:14-16)

Some believe that this place in the wilderness will be in or near Petra in Jordan (see also There is a Place of Safety for the Philadelphians. Why it May Be Petra).

Prophecy scholars tend to recognize that the expression “time and times and half a time” equates to 3 1/2 years. The fleeing to the wilderness happens just after the Philadelphians have successfully preached the Gospel of the Kingdom to the world as a witness (Matthew 24:14) and just prior to the start of the Great Tribulation (Matthew 24:15-21).

Jesus said to watch and pray to be accounted worthy to escape, indicating that not all Christians would be accounted worthy:

34 “But take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that Day come on you unexpectedly. 35 For it will come as a snare on all those who dwell on the face of the whole earth. 36 Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man.” (Luke 21:34-36)

So, what about the rest of the Christians in those days?

The Bible shows that they will be subject to death and persecution:

17 And the dragon was enraged with the woman, and he went to make war with the rest of her offspring, who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ. (Revelation 12:17)

25…Then the saints shall be given into his hand For a time and times and half a time. (Daniel 7:25b)

So, this second period of persecution for those who do not flee to the wilderness lasts 3 1/2 years as well. Those subject to the persecution from the Beast power are mainly Laodicean, Sardisian, and Thyatiran Christians (though some of the Thyatiran remnant may be protected per Revelation 2:22-24). Those Christians would be those that failed to heed various parts of the Bible as they should and will ignore the warnings in Zephaniah 2:1-3 to gather together prior to the time to flee (watch also the video Zephaniah’s ‘Gather Together’ Prophecy).

While we Christians go through our day to day lives, the Bible is clear that those who live long enough are going to be subject to intense persecution and becoming refugees.

Basically ALL end time Christians will be refugees or at least subject to terrible persecution.

Did you know what seems to be the second most looked up verse in the Bible is?

The first is John 3:16, but the second is found in Jeremiah. Here are three translations of it:

11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. (Jeremiah 29:11, NIV)

11 For I know the thoughts that I think towards you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of affliction, to give you an end and patience. (Jeremiah 29:11, Douay-Rheims)

11 For I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. (Jeremiah 29:11, New Living Translation)

Some quote Jeremiah 29:11 as proof that God has a plan for them. And while God does have a plan for all, many tend to not consider the verse in context.

Notice what the Bible teaches:

11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. 12 Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. 13 And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. 14 I will be found by you, says the Lord, and I will bring you back from your captivity; I will gather you from all the nations and from all the places where I have driven you, says the Lord, and I will bring you to the place from which I cause you to be carried away captive. (Jeremiah 29:11-14)

Notice that the plan was exile. To be a sojourner, to be a refugee.

So as you consider the plight of the millions of refugees on the Earth, you may also consider that if you are truly a Christian, that you will be subject to intense persecution and even being a refugee yourself.

O’Reilly’s comments are part of the introduction of the Criminal Justice (Incitement to Violence or Hatred and Hate Offences) Bill 2022. …

The legislation that would criminalize “incitement to violence or hatred against” people with “protected characteristics,” as well as “condoning, denying or grossly trivialising genocide, war crimes, crimes against humanity and crimes against peace.”

Limiting free speech has become an article of faith for many on the left. …

The anti-free speech movement has become openly Orwellian in claiming to protect freedom by limiting freedom.  It also employs using terms like disinformation, misinformation, and malinformation to obscure their effort to silence those with opposing views. Rather than use “censorship,” they refer to “content moderation.”

That effort was on full display this week in Ireland with this anti-free speech legislation.

Speaking before the Irish Senate (Seanad) this week, Green Party chairwoman Pauline O’Reilly declared “when one thinks about it, all law and all legislation is about the restriction of freedom. This is exactly what we are doing here. We are restricting freedom but we are doing it for the common good.” …

The Irish legislation is likely to be replicated around the world if the free speech community cannot hold the line against the anti-free speech movement. It is part of an unrelenting movement in Europe, particularly by the European Union, to rollback Western free speech values that once defined countries. …

Yes, Europe is heading towards more and more restrictions on speech. The Bible is clear that Europe will be led soon by a totalitarian dictatorship.

12 “The ten horns which you saw are ten kings who have received no kingdom as yet, but they receive authority for one hour as kings with the beast. 13 These are of one mind, and they will give their power and authority to the beast.  (Revelation 17:12-13, NKJV throughout unless otherwise specified)

These ten kings have no kingdom, but are to attain one. Thus, this is a type of reorganization in verse 12. Since they give their power to the Beast in verse 13, this is a second reorganization.  The “beast” is not shown to have much power prior to Revelation 17:12-13.

Although the beast gets in place as the result of two coming reorganizations, the foundations to allow the beast power to put in more totalitarian restrictions is being endorsed by many governments in Europe already.

Was loss of free speech and of the press prophesied?

Yes.

The Bible shows more restrictions are coming.

Consider that Jesus said:

4 … the night is coming when no one can work. (John 9:4, NKJV)

4… the night cometh, when no man can work (John 9:4 KJV)

The prophet Amos was inspired to record the following:

11 “Behold, the days are coming,” says the Lord God,
“That I will send a famine on the land,
Not a famine of bread,
Nor a thirst for water,
But of hearing the words of the Lord.
12 They shall wander from sea to sea,
And from north to east;
They shall run to and fro, seeking the word of the Lord,
But shall not find it. (Amos 8:11-12)

In a October 23, 1980 co-worker letter, Herbert Armstrong wrote:

The Bible warns us the time is just ahead when NO MAN CAN WORK—in the Lord’s Work. We must sacrifice now as never before for this Work that we may FINISH the Work that Christ has called us to do. Pray as never before, for this Work.

In a November 22, 1982 co-worker letter, Herbert Armstrong wrote:

… brethren and co-workers, the prophesied Great Tribulation (nuclear World War III) will start soon after the European unification. So, the Bible tells of a time that will come when the word of God will not be found. And that would seem to be because it will be taken off the internet. In the 21st century, the internet is accessed by people in every country, and thus some type of internet restriction/suspension/site removal is coming.

Europe has already taken steps to push Big Tech to remove speech it does not want to allow.

The Bible foretells such a time where without something to come, one cannot buy or sell and that one must worship the beast or risk death:

15 He was granted power to give breath to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak and cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed. 16 He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, 17 and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

18 Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man: His number is 666. (Revelation 13:15-18)

The above prophecy points to there being the ability to control buying and selling, as well as there being enforcers of the mark of the beast. We are also seeing things like electronic money (including those referred to as digital currencies), which did not exist a century ago, getting more widespread acceptance. Electronic money will make 666’s enforcement possible.

And we see from Bible prophecy that 666’s plan will involve both economic and murderous persecution.

Electronic communications, artificial intelligence, and digital currencies help make 666 enforcement possible.

Mormon crickets invade parts of Nevada–an apocalyptic sign?

This week, millions of Mormon crickets invaded the town of Elko Nevada, a city of about 20,000 residents in northeastern Nevada. The swarm was so dense that the Department of Transportation had to plow crickets from area highways because they make for slick driving conditions.

Colette and Mike Reynolds woke up on Sunday to find their house literally covered with bugs. They tried killing the crickets with a pressure washer but the dead bugs were quickly consumed by ensuing waves of infestation. They called an exterminator but he admitted that there was nothing he could do. Several dozen crickets even found a way into their home, adding to the nightmare.

“Everybody’s like, ‘this is apocalyptic,” Colette told the New York Post. “It feels Biblical.’. And I have to agree.”

The crickets have attracted birds which are their natural predators.

“We’ve had hundreds of big crows and hawks and it’s pretty eerie feeling. It is an invading, disheartening feeling. You just feel hopeless. You feel violated. You feel isolated. I am so tired of seeing these things. You can’t eat because everything you look at just looks like crickets,” she said.

Mormon Crickets are native to western North America in rangelands dominated by sagebrush.  …

The Mormon cricket takes its common name from the prominent role it played in the “Miracle of the Gulls” in 1848 credited by Latter-day Saints for saving the Mormon pioneers’ second harvest in the Salt Lake Valley. According to Mormon legend, thousands of insects were devouring the crucial second harvest of the newly established community of 4,000 mormons. Seagulls miraculously appeared following fervent prayers by the pioneer farmers, saving the crops by eating the insects. …

For the Biblically inclined, swarms of crickets evoke images of the plague of locusts that hit pre-Exodus Egypt.

They covered the face of the whole land, so that the land was darkened, and they ate all the plants in the land and all the fruit of the trees that the hail had left. Not a green thing remained, neither tree nor plant of the field, through all the land of Egypt. (Exodus 10:15)

According to Jewish tradition, the ten-plagues will reappear before the Messiah as hinted by the Prophet Micah.

I will show him wondrous deeds As in the days when You sallied forth from the land of Egypt. Micah 7:15

The old Worldwide Church of God published the following warning in 1969, related to locusts and destruction:

The Prophet Joel was inspired to write:

“Alas for the day! for the day of the Lord is at hand, and as a destruction from the Almighty shall it come” (Joel 1:15).

This “Day of the Lord” refers to God’s intervention in mankind’s affairs — His return to restore peace and order to a world full of sick societies. Joel’s first chapter describes some of the events which will lead up to the grand climax of the Day of the Lord as described in Chapter 2. Here in the modern language of the Living Prophecies translation is what chapter 1 says:

“Listen, you aged men of Israel [the leaders of modern-day Great Britain and the United States of America]! Everyone, listen! In all your lifetime, yes, in all your history, have you ever heard of such a thing as I am going to tell you? In years to come, tell your children about it; pass the awful story down from generation to generation” (verses 2-3).

Yes, an event utterly unprecedented in history is about to be described! Here is what that event is:

“For after the cutter-locusts finish eating your crops, the swarmer-locusts will take what’s left! After them will come the hopper-locusts! And then the stripper-locusts, too!… A vast army of locusts covers the land. It is a terrible army too numerous to count, with teeth as sharp as those of lions!

They have ruined My vines and stripped the bark from the fig trees, leaving trunks and branches white and bare” (verses 4-7).

As man uses stronger and stronger insecticides, the insect pests adapt and become ever more difficult to kill. At least in part, God will probably use this very condition to bring famine upon us.

The prophecy continues:

“The fields are bare of crops. Sorrow and sadness are everywhere. The grain, the grapes, the olive oil are gone. Well may you farmers stand so shocked and stricken; well may you vinedressers weep. Weep for the wheat and the barley too, for they are gone. The grapevines are dead; the fig trees are dying; the pomegranates wither; the apples shrivel on the trees; all joy has withered with them. Our food will disappear before our eyes… the seed rots in the ground; the barns and granaries are empty; the grain has dried up in the fields (verses 10-17).

Notice it! Our vaunted grain surpluses will be gone!

“The cattle groan with hunger; the herds stand perplexed for there is no pasture for them; the sheep bleat in misery. Lord help us! For the heat has withered the pastures and burned up all the trees. Even the wild animals cry to You for help, for there is no water for them. The creeks are dry and the pastures are scorched” (verses 18-20).

What horrible conditions! When these things begin to come about, people will start to go hungry:

“And when I have broken the staff of your bread, ten women shall bake your bread in one oven, and they shall deliver you your bread again by weight: and ye shall eat, and not be satisfied” (Lev. 26:26).

Yes, locusts, even when they are not fulfilling prophecies such as in the Book of Joel, can cause many problems.

That being said, Jesus Himself warned that the “signs” of the end of the age would include pestilences and famines:

7…And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are the beginning of sorrows. (Matthew 24:6-8)

11 And there will be great earthquakes in various places, and famines and pestilences; and there will be fearful sights and great signs from heaven. (Luke 21:11)

Reducing food supplies can lead to famines.

Ukraine, once known as the ‘breadbasket’ of Europe, will need at least twenty years for its agricultural sector to recover following the eventual end of the war with Russia.

According to a report from the Kyiv School of Economics, Ukraine’s farming industry has been severely damaged during the past year of fighting with Russia, with staple crops such as maize, oats, rapeseed, and rye not expected to recover to previous production levels until at least 2050. Ukraine has been a major supplier of wheat, barley, and cooking oil.

In the sixth chapter of the Book of Revelation, the ride of four horsemen are described. The passages about the third and fourth horseman are as follows:

5 When He opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, “Come and see.” So I looked, and behold, a black horse, and he who sat on it had a pair of scales in his hand. 6 And I heard a voice in the midst of the four living creatures saying, “A quart of wheat for a denarius, and three quarts of barley for a denarius; and do not harm the oil and the wine.”

7 When He opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature saying, “Come and see.” 8 So I looked, and behold, a pale horse. And the name of him who sat on it was Death, and Hades followed with him. And power was given to them over a fourth of the earth, to kill with sword, with hunger, with death, and by the beasts of the earth. (Revelation 6:5-8)

So, the opening of the fourth seal is the time that the pale horse of death is apparently increasing death by war, hunger, and pestilences (the beasts of the earth).

These Signs of the 4 Horsemen Have Begun

Are we at the time of the ride of at least some of the four horsemen of the Apocalypse? If so, are many prophecy watchers missing signs associated with them? History shows that authoritarian totalitarian regimes tend to arise after famines and/or pestilences. Those are events associated with three of the four horsemen of the Apocalypse. Could the beginning of sorrows, and the associated ride of the first horseman of false ecumenical religion, have started in the Fall of 2009? What is the significance of this rider having a bow? Is Satan the prince of the power of the air? Did Dr. Thiel warn of a prophetic threat of a “novel” coronavirus back in 2013? Could COVID-19 been related to the taking away the peace from the earth that is associated with the ride of the red horse, the second horsemen of war? What are some of the ramifications of the Russia-Ukraine military conflict and the opening of the second seal? Was Amos inspired to write that God does nothing without revealing it to his servants the prophets? Who warned of these matters? The ride of the third horse, the black horse of famine and food price inflation–specifically wheat, barley, edible oils, and wine. Since Ukraine is a major exporter of the first three, could this, as well as fertilizer shortages, have anything to do with the ride of that horseman? The pale horse of the fourth seal mentions one-quarter of humankind being subject to being killed by the sword, hunger, and pestilence–will this be a factor in the rise of the Beast of Revelation 13? Is persecution associated with the start of the Great tribulation and the rise of the Beast? Why is the Beast going to be in charge of a European-based empire? Will the opening of the first four seals and the starts of the rides of the four horsemen of the Apocalypse get Europe to reorganize such as is prophesied in Revelation 17:12-13? Zombie Deer Disease is Here! Are the 10 Plagues on Egypt Coming?

According to certain Jewish traditions, the ten plagues on Egypt are to be repeated before the Messiah comes. Some have wondered if ”Zombie Deer Disease,’ officially knows as ‘Chronic Wasting Disease’ (which is spreading according to the US CDC) is confirmation of that Jewish view. Yes, we believe that a version of the ten plagues that affected Egypt will come again–‘locusts’ of some sort are part of that–though what is currently happening with Mormon crickets and lab-meat is not that.

In the past several years, there has been increased interest in a previously little known holiday called Juneteenth.

Now, even certain California State employees are getting the day off as a paid holiday for it.

Here is some information about Juneteenth:

The newest federal holiday, “Juneteenth,” is observed this year on the actual date of June Nineteenth — Juneteenth being the combination of those two words. As with most federal holidays, in order to give federal employees a three-day weekend, it would have been observed on Monday anyway.

So, what is Juneteenth all about?

When I first heard of Juneteenth, while working at a summer job during my college days, I presumed that since it had something to do with the end of slavery in the United States, it must have been the date the 13th Amendment — which ended legal slavery in the country — was ratified. Later, I was perplexed, as I read that the 13th Amendment was made part of the U.S. Constitution in December of 1865.

In reality, Juneteenth had very little to do with the end of legal slavery in America, so the question then became, Why celebrate it in June, rather than in December?

The answer seems to be, as it is with so much in today’s world — whether it be nominations to the Supreme Court, the names of sports teams, or even pictures on boxes of pancake mix — that politics is in play: Democrats want to pander to black voters, and Republicans are generally afraid to call them on it, fearing they will just be accused of being racists and “white supremacists.”

Sam Roberts and his family are planning for Juneteenth, the newest U.S. holiday commemorating the 1865 emancipation of Black enslaved people at the end of the Civil War.

On Sunday, the Roberts family and other Americans will attend celebrations and observances. It’s part of a growing national recognition of a pivotal moment in U.S. history that’s been a part of the fabric of Black culture for generations.

“Juneteenth is our Freedom Day and African American communities have been celebrating June 19th for a long time,” said Roberts, a father of two from Washington, D.C. It’s the second national observance of the holiday since Congress authorized it and U.S. President Joe Biden signed the Juneteenth National Independence Day Act into law last year.

“While July 4th is the celebration of freedom for the United States, Juneteenth is a celebration of freedom for African Americans after the Civil War,” said Jesse Holland, an author and Black historian.

The push for a Juneteenth federal holiday came amid the popularity of the Black Lives Matter movement and a year after nationwide protests against racism and police brutality. It followed the murder of African-American George Floyd by a white Minneapolis police officer in 2020. Since then, the annual celebration has taken on a new meaning for some in the Black community.

“Juneteenth reminds Black Americans we still face the challenges of hate and discrimination our ancestors endured,” Roberts said. “We have to redouble our quest for equality.”

Some historians believe greater awareness of Juneteenth will encourage forward leaning conversations among Americans about race relations and the legacies of slavery. …

“Not every African American in the United States are descendants of slaves, but for the large majority of us who are, Juneteenth is the time for us to take stock of who we are today, where we came from and the sacrifices our ancestors went through before and since the Civil War,” Holland told VOA.

Freedom declarations

U.S. President Abraham Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation in 1863, a declaration following the end of the Civil War that legally freed more than three million enslaved Blacks in Confederate States. But not all slaves were free because the proclamation could not be implemented in parts of the southern United States.

To enforce the proclamation, Union Army Major General Gordon Granger marched into Galveston, Texas, on June 19, 1865, to issue the “General Order Number 3,” which ended the enslavement of Blacks in Texas. The mandate freed an estimated 250,000 slaves two-and-half years after the Emancipation Proclamation was signed.

“White Texans knew the Civil War was [over] and slavery was banned, but they didn’t tell their slaves the war was over for years [in order] to continue to get free labor out of them,” said Holland. “Juneteenth is when the lie ended and federal forces showed up to enforce the new federal law saying slavery was illegal in the United States.”

While Juneteenth is celebrated as the end of slavery, the practice of involuntary servitude continued briefly in the states of Delaware and Kentucky. On December 6, 1865, ratification of the Thirteenth Amendment to the Constitution abolished slavery in the United States.

Juneteenth awareness

The first events commemorating Juneteenth date to 1866, when former slaves celebrated their new freedom with prayer, feasting, song, and dance. The anniversary saw a decline in popularity in the 1950’s and 60’s as Black Americans focused on the civil rights movement and ending racial discrimination. Racial discrimination is a problem in many societies.

Liberation from oppression is a good thing.

Whether an additional holiday will help is a matter of debate. The real solution is the Kingdom of God.

Jesus came to proclaim that liberty:

1 “The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me,
Because the Lord has anointed Me
To preach good tidings to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives,
And the opening of the prison to those who are bound;
2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord,
And the day of vengeance of our God;
To comfort all who mourn,  (Isaiah 61:1-2)

God has a plan which will result in people of every nation and race being saved:

9…I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could number, of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, with palm branches in their hands, 10 and crying out with a loud voice, saying, “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!”  (Revelation 7:9-10)

God has a plan where people of every nation will be able to rule:

9…You were slain, And have redeemed us to God by Your blood
Out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation,
10 And have made us kings and priests to our God;
And we shall reign on the earth.  (Revelation 5:9-10)

God has a plan where “all flesh shall see the salvation of God” (Luke 3:6):

21 And it shall come to pass
That whoever calls on the name of the Lord
Shall be saved. (Acts 2:21)

1 Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea. Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away” (Revelation 21:1-4).

God has a fantastic plan.

Whether or not you celebrate Juneteenth, pray for God’s Kingdom to come (Matthew 6:10).

The 2024 presidential election may well feature Donald Trump vs. Joe Biden. Many are not pleased with that:

Ask voters for the one word that springs to mind when they think of leading Republican candidates for the 2024 election and the results are not flattering.

Former President Donald Trump is a ‘criminal,’ ‘dangerous,’ and ‘disgusting.’

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is ‘fascist’, ‘racist,’ but also a ‘leader.’ …

Add in their likely Democratic opponent and the descriptions are not much better.

The word cloud for President Joe Biden runs from ‘old’ and ‘incompetent’ to ‘senile’ and ‘corrupt.’ …

“I wish I had a fast-forward button,” said Newman, a political independent in Chicago who is looking for a moderate Republican to support but fears Trump will crowd out his rivals.

Welcome to the election of dread.

If there’s one thing that voters of both parties—and independents—agree on, it’s that few are looking forward to the run-up to November 2024. The two leading candidates, Trump and President Biden, look to be heading for a repeat of 2020, and few see much to relish in that.

Will Donald Trump Bring on the End of History?

It now seems probable that former President Donald Trump will announce his candidacy for president of the United States in 2024, perhaps as soon as after the 2022 elections are completed. …

I fully acknowledge that Trump is not the calm, studious, dignified statesman which many Americans have tended to associate traditionally with the nation’s highest office. He comes across at times like a bully, a man lacking certain social graces and gravitas, which are seen to be a prerequisite for the position. …

Increasingly I have noticed a tsunami of items which not only hysterically denounce MAGA folks and anyone fearless enough to express any sympathy (much less support) for President Donald Trump, but demand their total “canceling,” exclusion from the franchise, even imprisonment or physical execution.

Academics (and their brain-dead students), broadcasters, and writers at such publications as The Atlantic, Salon, The Guardian, The Washington Post, and The New York Times lead these virtual “MAGA search-and-kill death squads,” but a huge number of political leaders, and not just Democrats, echo these raging attacks.

The unleashed, unbridled hatred for Trump and his supporters is there for anyone to see and digest. It is visceral, violent, and very real. …

What Donald Trump did in 2016 was …

dangerous to their worldview, dangerous to their control over what ridiculously is called “our democracy,” and most egregiously, to their continued authority and power. It had to be stopped, it had to be squelched.

Thus, came the transparently bogus charges of “Russian collusion”—Russiagate, which continues to fester in the fevered minds of Leftist lunatics … For his re-appearance on the ballot could indeed make the riots and mayhem of the “summer of rage” in 2020 seem like a Sunday school party. Above all, Trump would likely produce an utter raging madness from the Leftist insaniacs, and not only would heads explode at MSNBC and CNN, but frothing-at-the-mouth, wild-eyed academics would lead their lemming-like students out into the streets. Dozens of American cities would go up in flames, again, but this time with a ferocity and abandon …

Nationally, Trump again in the White House might well cause a major upheaval in Washington. …

No, Donald Trump or voting Republicans into office will not stop the decline of the USA.

No, Joe Biden, those who promote abortion, the LGBTQ+ agenda, etc. are NOT good people, but evil.

The Bible warns:

20 Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil (Isaiah 5:20).

I am NOT a voter nor a Democrat nor a MAGA (or any any other type of) Republican –I am a non-partisan Christian looking for the return of Jesus and the establishment of the Kingdom of God.

Consider that Jesus warned:

25 Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand. (Matthew 12:25)

17 Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and a house divided against a house falls. (Luke 11:17)

The divide in the USA is growing as many of its sins (including hypocrisy) become more blatant.

That said, as posted here several times before, I consider that both Donald Trump and Joe Biden are evil.

Without going into unique specifics about either, let’s consider how they are both similar:

  1. Neither lives like a member of their professed faiths is supposed to try to live.
  2. Both support many aspects of the LGBTQ+ agendas.
  3. Both have repeatedly supported increasing US debt.
  4. Both have publicly made numerous gaffes and misstatements.

  6. Both have called for unchecked empowerment of  law-enforcement entities.
  7. Both have been accused of sexually harassing numerous women.
  8. Neither has called for national repentance.
  9. Neither has sought first the Kingdom of God.
  10. Both have been leaders in Administrations that have upset the Europeans.
  11. Both have been accused of hypocrisy.

Now, I am not trying to say that there are no differences. Yes, I know they have differing economic and climate policies as well as different views on abortion and racial matters.

As far as being hypocritical goes, the Book of Job teaches:

13 … And the hope of the hypocrite shall perish, (Job 8:13)

The Bible prophecy warns that God will punish and destroy “an hypocritical nation” (Isaiah 10:6, KJV) in a prophecy related to the USA.

The Bible teaches:

1 Cry aloud, spare not;
Lift up your voice like a trumpet;
Tell My people their transgression,
And the house of Jacob their sins. (Isaiah 58:1)

These national sins include abortion, sexuality immorality, promoting pornography, false witness, violence, economic theft through debt and other means, hypocrisy, disdain for the God of the Bible, covetousness, and a host of others.

As far as voting goes, notice something that international author Doug Casey wrote about it:

Voting encourages politicians. A vote against one candidate—a major, and quite understandable, reason why many people vote—is always interpreted as a vote for his opponent. And even though you may be voting for the lesser of two evils, the lesser of two evils is still evil. As far as evil goes, evil is still evil.

Many professing Christians believe that they need to vote even though that concept is not endorsed in the Bible. But the Bible teaches:

2 You shall not follow a crowd to do evil (Exodus 23:2)

The “lesser of two evils” is still not good.

What should a Christian do?

Jesus said to “seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness” (Matthew 6:33) and to pray for God’s kingdom to come (Matthew 6:10).

As far as political leaders go, the Apostle Paul wrote:

1 Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, 2 for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. 3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior (1 Timothy 2:1-3).

Notice that we are to pray for worldly leaders and those that have authority over us so that we may lead a quiet and peaceful life. Nothing like this is said for voting that many falsely claim is their “Christian” duty–prayer for leaders is.

No matter who you may think is better, the lesser of two evils is still evil.

The USA presidential campaign is in full swing. Though Democratic party candidate Joe Biden and Republican party candidate Donald Trump have differing economic and climate policies as well as different views on abortion and racial matters, there are many similarities both share. Do they have policies that they share that are leading to the destruction of the USA? What do Bible prophecies reveal about sexual immorality, debt, and hypocrisy? Supporting evil is not the solution for Christians.

Those who are truly part of the Philadelphia remnant will go forward to fulfill Jesus’ commissions in Matthew 24:14 and 28:19-20. They will also support the preparation for the short work of Romans 9:25-28 as well as work to reach the Jews and the full number of Gentiles as recorded in Romans 11:23-25.

We are also to pray for our spiritual leaders. Notice what Jesus taught:

2 The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few; therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest (Luke 10:2).

Notice what Paul taught:

25 Brethren, pray for us (1 Thessalonians 5:25).

1 Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may run swiftly and be glorified, just as it is with you, 2 and that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men; for not all have faith (2 Thessalonians 3:1-2).

We also are to pray:

14 The will of the Lord be done (Acts 21:14).

Similarly,  Jesus taught:

7 And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words. 8 Therefore do not be like them. For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him. 9 In this manner, therefore, pray:

Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. 10 Your kingdom come. Your will be done
On earth as it is in heaven (Matthew 6:7-10).

And that, I believe, should be the type of prayer that Christians have about elections and politicians. Followers of the true God are also told to:

5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding;
6 In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall direct your paths.

7 Do not be wise in your own eyes;
Fear the LORD and depart from evil (Proverbs 3:5-7).

The world is changing.

As far as the USA itself goes, the handwriting is on the wall for its coming end.

But, as I wrote before Joe Biden took office, the end will NOT come in the first term of a Biden-Harris Administration.

However, IF certain step happen in the next year or two (like the confirmation of the deal of Daniel 9:27–if not, things will be later), and:

  1. If as the School of Elijah taught, that God inspired Elijah to state that the world as we have known it would last 6,000 years, to be followed by a thousand year sabbatical time, which Jewish tradition (Talmud, Tractate Sanhedrin [97a]) and early Christian traditions records (e.g. Irenaeus, a hearer of Polycarp. Adversus haereses, Book V, Chapter 30:4), then we are getting close to the end of that time.
  2. And if, consistent with scriptures in both the Old and New Testaments, we can apply the concept that a thousand years is as a day to God (Psalm 90:4; 2 Peter 3:8).
  3. And if, as generally understood in the Church of God that Jesus was killed and resurrected no later than the Spring of 31 A.D. on Passover.
  4. And if we can presume that the “last days” of a 7,000 year prophetic week began AFTER the middle day (day 4), then the last days prior to the “sabbatical” time, which some would refer to as the millennial Kingdom of God would last two thousand years.
  5. And if when Peter referred to being in the last days (Acts 2:17-18) and since Hebrews 1:1-12 teaches that “God … has in these last days spoken to us by His Son.”
  6. Then adding 2,000 years to a period of time leads to the end of the 6,000 years no later than 2031 (and it could be earlier than that).
  7. Since the Great Tribulation is expected to start 3 1/2 years prior to that (cf. Revelation 12:14; 13:5) subtracting 3 1/2 years from the Spring of 2031 would be late in 2027.
  8. Understand that the U.S.A. is prophesied to be taken over near the rise of the Beast and start of the Great Tribulation (cf. Daniel 11:39; Jeremiah 30:7; Matthew 24:21-22).
  9. Therefore, since the end of the next full U.S.A. presidential term would end in January of 2029, these prophetic understandings point to the end of the U.S.A. prior to two full presidential terms.
  10. This is also consistent with certain Roman Catholic prophetic writings as well.

It looks like from certain Jewish, biblical, Christian, and Roman Catholic perspectives (and yes others associated with those faiths have other opinions), that the end of the U.S.A. may well happen before 2028. Or perhaps by 2030.

Are there prophetic reasons to believe that the USA will not last two complete presidential terms? Yes. There is a tradition attributed to the Hebrew prophet Elijah that humanity had 6,000 years to live before being replaced by God’s Kingdom. There are scriptures, writings in the Talmud, early Christian teachings that support this. Also, even certain Hindu writings support it.

Repentance could delay the disaster coming to the USA (cf. Daniel 4:27)–but that is not expected.

Without national repentance, the end is coming very soon no matter what party wins the USA 2024 presidential election.

Destruction is coming to the USA–as well as its British-descended allies (UK, Australia, Canada, New Zealand)–and it will be worse than most people will believe.

Daniel was a well known prophet of God who lived during the reigns of Kings Nebuchadnezzar, Belshazzar, Darius, and Cyrus.

World Net Daily posted the following:

Sorry to disappoint the Left Behinders yet again, but the next item on the end times calendar belongs to the church. Evil has had its chance to show everyone how great it would be if the globalists ran the entire world, …

Many of Daniel’s prophecies were sealed, because they were not for the time in which Daniel lived, but far in the future.

I think we are in that future time, now. The Revelation prophecy given to John hasn’t happened yet. Daniel has been in process for quite some time.

After Daniel explained both the dream King Nebuchadnezzar had (but couldn’t remember after he awakened), as well as interpreting that prophecy, Scripture tell us: “The dream is true and its interpretation is trustworthy (Daniel 2:45 NIV).”

After Daniel was told by God both what Nebuchadnezzar had dreamed and what it meant, he was told to seal up the prophecy until the time of the end. We’re almost there. Daniel works in conjunction with John and his Revelation.

The church age did not exist in Daniel’s time, so Daniel’s prophecy of the stone falling to earth would not have been correctly understood at that time. However, this is where we are now. It will grow to fill the entire earth. Not as far fetched as some might think, given our present internet age.

Even today the church has not understood the power we as the Bride have to remake the world into something pleasing to God, honoring to Jesus and pleasant to dwell in with other people during our time on earth. …

This is a small sliver of time before the tribulation begins. The church will demonstrate what a world governed by God’s people looks like and how it will operate.

Evil will try to stop the church’s efforts. They are trying now, especially to stop the worldwide revival God has planned. Some refer to it as a billion soul harvest. The one-worlders are trying to prevent this revival and the church’s rule that will accompany (or even precede) the harvest. …

While there is an expiration date for evil, it is not yet. A totalitarian government will come first.

No, the stone prophecy does not mean that the church will harvest a billion souls before Jesus returns.

No, we are not “about to enter the angel army phase” as the WND author speculates.

Some of the prophecies in Revelation have already come to pass, so the author’s blanket statement against that view is in error.

As far as Nebuchadnezzar’s dream and the stone goes, let’s look at what the scriptures actually state:

1 Now in the second year of Nebuchadnezzar’s reign, Nebuchadnezzar had dreams; and his spirit was so troubled that his sleep left him. 2 Then the king gave the command to call the magicians, the astrologers, the sorcerers, and the Chaldeans to tell the king his dreams. So they came and stood before the king. 3 And the king said to them, “I have had a dream, and my spirit is anxious to know the dream.”

4 Then the Chaldeans spoke to the king in Aramaic, “O king, live forever! Tell your servants the dream, and we will give the interpretation.”

5 The king answered and said to the Chaldeans, “My decision is firm: if you do not make known the dream to me, and its interpretation, you shall be cut in pieces, and your houses shall be made an ash heap. 6 However, if you tell the dream and its interpretation, you shall receive from me gifts, rewards, and great honor. Therefore tell me the dream and its interpretation.” (Daniel 2:1-6)

16 So Daniel went in and asked the king to give him time, that he might tell the king the interpretation. (Daniel 2:16)

36 “This is the dream. Now we will tell the interpretation of it before the king. 37 You, O king, are a king of kings. For the God of heaven has given you a kingdom, power, strength, and glory; 38 and wherever the children of men dwell, or the beasts of the field and the birds of the heaven, He has given them into your hand, and has made you ruler over them all — you are this head of gold. 39 But after you shall arise another kingdom inferior to yours; then another, a third kingdom of bronze, which shall rule over all the earth. 40 And the fourth kingdom shall be as strong as iron, inasmuch as iron breaks in pieces and shatters everything; and like iron that crushes, that kingdom will break in pieces and crush all the others. 41 Whereas you saw the feet and toes, partly of potter’s clay and partly of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; yet the strength of the iron shall be in it, just as you saw the iron mixed with ceramic clay. 42 And as the toes of the feet were partly of iron and partly of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong and partly fragile. 43 As you saw iron mixed with ceramic clay, they will mingle with the seed of men; but they will not adhere to one another, just as iron does not mix with clay. 44 And in the days of these kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed; and the kingdom shall not be left to other people; it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand forever. 45 Inasmuch as you saw that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it broke in pieces the iron, the bronze, the clay, the silver, and the gold — the great God has made known to the king what will come to pass after this. The dream is certain, and its interpretation is sure.” (Daniel 2:36-45)

Note: Certain Christian COG groups have misinterpreted part of this dream and believe that the toes in verses 41-43 must refer to ten currently existing 21st century nations. This mistake will mean that when the final beast power forms, if it has more than 10 (PCG) or 11 (in LCG’s case) currently existing nations that those who rely on the misinterpretation will not realize that the Great Tribulation will begin until it is too late (see also Must the Ten Kings of Revelation 17:12 Rule over Ten Currently Existing Nations?).

That said, what about the stone?

Here is some of what the late Pastor General of the old Worldwide Church of God taught related to that dream and that stone:

“And Daniel had understanding in visions and dreams.” And that of course came from God. Now then, as you read in through the second chapter of Daniel, the king Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon and the first world ruler in the history of mankind, was given a very important dream, very extraordinary dream. And he called all of the soothsayers, the astrologers, and so on, and demanded that they tell him what he had dreamed. And he demanded that they tell him what had dreamed, beside what it meant.

Well of course, they couldn’t do that. Then Daniel was called before him. In the second chapter of Daniel, beginning in verse 27 (Daniel 2:27), I’ll pick up a little of it. “Daniel answered in the presence of the king, and said, The secret which the king has demanded cannot the wise men, the astrologers, the magicians and the soothsayers show unto the king, but there is a God in heaven that reveals secrets and makes known to the king Nebuchadnezzar what shall be in the latter days,” not in his time, but in our time now, more than 2500 years later.

“Thy dream, and the visions upon thy bed, were these.” And in verse 31 (Daniel 2:31): “Thou, O king, sawest, and behold a great image, whose brightness was excellent, stood before thee, and the form thereof was terrible. The image’s head was of fine gold, the breast and arms of silver, the belly and thighs of brass, his legs of iron, his feet part of iron and part of clay, and thou sawest till…” Now there was a time element here. The head represented something that was, as he explained later, Nebuchadnezzar himself, and then after him something was going to happen, and it comes down to our time.

Now he saw up to the time where we are now living today. We are past the middle of the twentieth century. “Thou sawest till that a stone was cut out without hands,” that is the supernatural power of God, “which smote the image upon his feet that were of iron and clay, and broke them to pieces. Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, and silver, and the gold, broken to pieces together and became like the chaff of the summer threshing floor. The wind carried them away, no place was found for them. And the stone that smote the image became a great mountain.”

God’s Kingdom Will Be Set Up

Now I can show you where “mountain” in many cases is a symbol for nation, a great kingdom or a great nation. “…and filled the whole Earth. This is the dream, and we will tell the interpretation thereof…” Now he interprets what that mountain was, and it comes down to verse 44 (Daniel 2:44). And here is the final interpretation of the stone smiting those toes, that is what is to happen yet in our time. It hasn’t even happened yet, now today. “And in the days of these kings” that are represented by the ten toes there, “shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom.” That is the kingdom of God.

The God of heaven will set up a kingdom, and that’s a government that is replaced, and he showed him that the kingdoms that were there, were the Chaldean Empire of Nebuchadnezzar, to be followed by the Persian Empire, and then in turn by the Greco-Macedonian Empire, and that in turn by the Roman Empire. And out of that would come finally, after its original demise, came the so-called Holy Roman Empire, and that is yet going to be resurrected once more, and that will become the ten toes when it does. And the stone that smote the image is the second coming of Christ. Now this is the gospel of Jesus Christ. (Armstrong HW. Visions of the End Time. Bible Study, November 6, 1978)

Yes, the stone cut without hands shows that God will destroy the governments of this world. That is also consistent with the following from Revelation:

19 And I saw the beast, the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against Him who sat on the horse and against His army. 20 Then the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who worked signs in his presence, by which he deceived those who received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image. These two were cast alive into the lake of fire burning with brimstone. 21 And the rest were killed with the sword which proceeded from the mouth of Him who sat on the horse. And all the birds were filled with their flesh. (Revelation 19:18-21)

While it can be said that evil has an expiration date–it is not yet.

Furthermore, it will be at least 7 years before the prophecy about the stone destroying the kingdoms of this world will come to pass.

The final Beast power will arise between now and the return of Jesus.

Do not let anyone deceive you to believe otherwise.

Must the Ten Kings of Revelation 17:12 Rule over Ten Currently Existing Nations? Some claim that these passages refer to a gathering of 10 currently existing nations together, while one group teaches that this is referring to 11 nations getting together.
