Mayan ‘apocalypse’ codex goes on display

The famous Dresdner Codex, one of the original Mayan books that set the end of the Mayan calendar on December 21, 2012, went on display in Dresden on Friday as part of an exhibition on the apocalyptic prophecy. The 78-page book, also known as the Codex Dresdensis, which has been in the eastern German town since 1739, is being exhibited for the next few months in the Book Museum of the Saxon State Library…Eventually, researchers used the Dresdner Codex to determine that the end of the 13th Mayan calendar cycle would fall on December 21, 2012. This date is illustrated in the book with the image of a giant crocodile spewing water from its mouth.

Many esoteric researchers have interpreted this as a sign of a coming apocalypse, but archaeologists and other researchers have downplayed this notion.

Of course, it is simply not possible according to the Bible for the end happen in 2012 (please also see Does God Have a 6,000 Year Plan? What Year Does the 6,000 Years End?).  Those who think it will, simply have been misled. Many modern scholars question exactly what the Mayans were predicting.

Anyway, the last page of the Dresden Codex is the part that most have focused on. The idea that it may have been predicting a flood at the end of the Mayan long-count calendar has been suspected for at least a century.  In 1906, notice some of what was written by Ernst Wilhelm Förstemann concerning the Dresden Codex:

COMMENTARY ON THE DRESDEN CODEX… This page can denote nothing but the end of the world, for which the serpent numbers have prepared the way. Perhaps what looks like a zero above the sign Eb in the stream of water may likewise point to this calamity. (Förstemann EW. Commentary on the Maya manuscript in the Royal public library of Dresden Papers of the Peabody Museum of American Archaeology and Ethnology, Harvard University. Of course, different researchers have different opinions about what this means, but the world will not end in a flood according to Bible prophecy and nor can the world end as early as 12/21/2012.

Mark Van Stone at the website of the Foundation for the Advancement of MesoAmerican Studies, Inc. states:

In any case, p. 74 of the Dresden does indeed appear to be a Flood, maybe even the one described in the Popol Vuh…Except there are no people being washed away, nor other indications of destruction, except the black warrior God L, who also presided at the 4 Ajaw 3 Kumk’u Creation (3114 BC) on the Vases of the 7 Gods and of the 11 Gods…

The Dresden does contain some astronomical tables –:notably Venus cycle and Eclipse Tables, for example–: and some mysterious tables such as the Serpent-Numbers (those dealing with 37,000 BCE), but most of them are auguries, based on cycles of the Tzolk’in divided by 5, or 6, or 7, or 18, or other numbers of days. Some have indicated that one or more of the small astronomical tables (which are very difficult to read on the last page of the Dresden Codex) point to some type of “galactic alignment,” perhaps involving Venus (others say not possible) and/or the Milky Way (others dispute that). But again, these are mainly modern Western interpretations of the Dresden Codex.

Others see it as a day of rebirth…

Others see it literally, with very severe consequences (Mayan Doomsday Prophecy, Decoding the Past. Original air date 08/03/06).

Since the world cannot and will not be destroyed by a flood (cf. Genesis 9), I strongly suspect that many will decide that the Mayan prophecies should properly be interpreted to mean that the longed for age of peace is upon us–even though it will not be (Ezekiel 13:10).

Perhaps I should mention that the most specific Mayan prophecy about a flood is from the 16th century document known as the Chilam Balim.  It possibly may have had some relationship to the Dresden Codex.  Notice what it states:

But when the law of the katun has run its course, the God will bring about a great deluge again which will be the end of the world. When this is over, then our Lord Jesus Christ will descend over the valley of Jehoshaphat beside the town of Jerusalem where he redeemed us with his holy blood (José Hoíl J, Roys R. The Book of Chilam Balam of Chumayel. Roys Publisher, 1933. Reprint Forgotten Books, 1967, p. 62).

Yet, the above is biblically, a false claim. 2012 is not the end of the world nor will Jesus return in 2012. That Mayan prediction is wrong. The Mayan flood prophecy will be proven false, whether it related to 2012 or not or the Dresden Codex or not.

Other scriptures show that the Great Tribulation and the later great earthquake (Revelation 16:18) cannot be that early (see Can the Great Tribulation Begin in 2012, 2013, or 2014? for more details).

Whatever the Dresden Codex may be trying to portray (my book 2012 and the Rise of the Secret Sect discusses certain views), it is not possible that the end of the world will occur in 2012, Jesus will not return in 2012 (Ronald Weinland is wrong; see CG-PKG’s Weinland’s Four Month Countdown to Jesus’ Return Wrong), nor can the Great Tribulation begin that early (James Malm is wrong; see James Malm’s 70% Great Tribulation Chance in 2012 is 100% Wrong).

But the Great tribulation will eventually come and Jesus will eventually return.

Yet, because many have made false predictions about 2012, many will likely use 2012 as an excuse to scoff at and discount all prophecy.  According to the Bible, that will be a mistake (2 Peter 3:1-13).

The latest TW News & Prophecy of the Living Church of God has the following:

Will Britain really store its tanks in Germany?

What started out as a joking comment has now become a very real possibility. In order to manage its growing national debt, Britain’s Ministry of Defense (MoD) is looking to sell its vast military vehicle storage facility at Ashchurch. The facility houses more than 6,000 defense-ready vehicles, including hundreds of high-tech tanks. Some MoD decision-makers are seriously considering moving large portions of the machinery to a British military base in Germany for temporary storage, while a more suitable long-term storage location within Britain is identified (The Guardian,February 16, 2012).

Philosopher George Santayana made the sobering observation, “Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it.” Less than 70 years ago, Hitler’s Panzer tanks were rolling over British troops in France. Now, Britain is considering storing its tanks in Germany–modern Assyria.

Bible prophecy reveals that a German-led Beast power will eventually subjugate the Israelite-descended people, including Britain (Deuteronomy 28:25-26, 36-41; Ezekiel 23:12, 22-26). Bible prophecy refers to Ephraim (modern Britain) as a “silly dove without sense,” because “they call to Egypt, they go to Assyria” (Hosea 7:11).

According to Bible prophecy, a European power, despite its fragility (Daniel 2:41-43), is destined to temporarily be the most dominant force in the world, ultimately conquer the Anglo-descended nations (Daniel 11:39), and later come to its end (Daniel 11:45).

We in the Living Church of God have long taught that Germany (Assyria in end time prophecy) would be the driving force in the end-time European Beast power as well as having a future role in God’s kingdom. Germany has been the main economic engine behind the EU and it seems astonishing that the UK could consider storing its tanks in a nation that it twice used tanks against within the past century.

Germany is getting more and more powerful and an even stronger union will form in Europe, which will take over the Anglo-nations.  Germany, the UK, Europe, and the USA keep taking steps that confirm those beliefs.

Ismail Haniyeh, prime minister of Hamas… made his comments alongside several Muslim Brotherhood members…Hamas is the Palestinian wing of the international Muslim Brotherhood movement which has its headquarters and ideological center in the Egyptian capital.

Israeli attack on Iran might pull US into new war

The Associated Press – 25 February 2012 W ‎ASHINGTON (AP) – An Israeli pre-emptive attack on Iran’s nuclear sites could draw the US into a new Mideast conflict, a prospect dreaded by a war-weary Pentagon wary of new entanglements…Israel, however, worries that Iran soon could enter a “zone of immunity” in which enough of its nuclear materials are beyond the reach of Israeli air power so that Iran could not be stopped, or perhaps could be stopped only by superior American firepower.

If Israel’s American-made strike planes managed to penetrate Iranian air space and bomb Iran’s main nuclear facilities, some of which are underground, then Iran would be expected to retaliate in any number of ways. That possibly could include the firing of Shahab-3 ballistic missiles at Tel Aviv or other Israeli targets.

Iran might take a less direct approach, relying on its Hezbollah allies in Lebanon or Hamas militants in Gaza to hit Israel with missiles from closer range.

If Israel decides that it has to attack Iran or Syria (which could happen if either attack Israel directly first or if the nuclear risk from Iran is perceived to be too large), Israel is likely to find that this is a very difficult and dangerous operation. Israel might decide to try electronic magnetic pulse (emp) weapons and not just “bunker-busting” bombs as Iran probably expects them.

Iran, Syria, and Hezbollah are all allies and might use a variety of options in counter-attacks, including perhaps using emp weapons.  It is highly likely that Syria and/or its allies might use chemical and/or biological weapons in a war against Israel.  Iran itself has enough uranium to at least launch what are called “dirty bombs” (bombs with radioactive fallout), if not actual nuclear weapons itself (it also likely could release biological and/or chemical weapons).

As I have mentioned before, Israel would be likely to hit back hard and perhaps detonate some type of weapon of mass destruction (like a nuclear bomb or so) to devastate Damascus, Syria (cf. Isaiah 17:1) and possibly parts of Iran.

It should be noted that some believe that the idea of Iran having nuclear capability is over stated and that the West is basically sounding war drums as justification for an attack against Iran.  Notice two such opinions from Islamist sources:

“My issue, really, is I don’t want to see our country go to war, and, you know, if it’s going to be over the potential threat that Iran is to Israel, I would say that’s a complete lie,” Stone explained in an interview with the CNN television network on Thursday.

“We are in a very dangerous situation – precarious situation – right now, if Israel gets the green light, and attacks preemptively Iran, the way that we preemptively attacked Iraq. That’s what I’m most concerned about,” he added.

Stone recently converted to Islam while in Iran, and has had meetings and discussions with Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

On Listening Post this week: Beating the drum for war – the US media and ‘The Iranian Threat’…Something sounds familiar. ‘Long-range nuclear missiles’, ‘terrorist sleeper cells’, ‘WMDs’: terms which quickly became part of the media’s vocabulary in the run up to the 2003 US-led invasion of Iraq. Fast-forward to 2012 and they are featuring heavily once again, only now it is not about Iraq, but Iran.

NATO countries are strongly considering the possibility of an international deployment to Syria if the Syrian opposition does not make major advances in the next few weeks, according to informed Middle Eastern diplomatic and security officials.  http://www.wnd.com/2012/02/mideast-war-in-march/

But it is not just the West that is setting up the war/attack scenario.  The Arab League basically has been drawing its own line in the sand and simply does not want Syria to continue as it is nor does it care for the regime in Iran.  Hamas’ reported position may not bode well for Syria or Iran.  The situation in Syria will eventually have to change and it may involve a regional war for that to happen, and not just a civil war in Syria (though that is an option).

Because I do not believe that Iran will be the final King of the South of Bible prophecy (cf. Daniel 11:4-43), I have tended to believe that Iran may somehow get “neutralized” before this final king rises up.  A serious regional conflict in the Middle East may neutralize Iran and neutralize much of its influence.  And Syria (Isaiah 17:1) and parts of Lebanon and others may be involved.

The King of the South that the Bible foretells (Daniel 11:40) must rise up.  And since it will not be Iran, the drum beats of war in the Middle East (as well as possible revolution within Iran) may be what eliminates Iran from the leadership role it wants for the Islamic world.

Jesus said to “watch” (Mark 13:37).

Dangerous super bacteria!

Due to the overuse of antibiotics, bacteria are growing more resilient and more deadly. According to an article in The Independent, “Britain is facing a ‘massive’ rise in antibiotic-resistant blood poisoning caused by the bacterium E.coli–bringing closer the spectre of diseases that are impossible to treat. Experts say the growth of antibiotic resistance now poses as great a threat to global health as the emergence of new diseases such as AIDS and pandemic flu.”These infections are now spreading around the globe. Experts note that the growth of these resistant bacteria threatens “to turn common infections into untreatable diseases” and medical professionals are now seeing infections that are resistant to powerful “last line of defense” antibiotics. Experts fear E.coli’s resistance because, unlike other bacteria that are not very prevalent, E.coli naturally exists within the gut of all humans (The Independent, February 20, 2012).

Jesus warned that one of the “signs” of the end of the age would be pestilence (Luke 21:11). Antibiotic-resistant bacteria, given the right conditions, will produce widespread disease epidemics.

This world needs the return of Christ and His Kingdom where there will be no more death or sorrow or pain (Revelation 21:4). And that time is coming soon!

Antibiotic-resistant bacteria, gmo-resistant pests, and other dangerous organisms are a bigger threat than many realize.  And some of them are spreading.

Infections are part of the pestilences that the Bible warned about for the end times. Jesus taught:

7…And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are the beginning of sorrows. (Matthew 24:6-8)

We seem to be in the time Jesus called “the beginning of sorrows”. There have been “earthquakes in various places” this year. There are some famines and they may increase soon. Candida, other fungi, bacteria, and viruses are not the only pestilences starting to rise up either.

As Jesus said:

37 And what I say to you, I say to all: Watch! (Mark 13:36-37)

One regarded as a famous atheist made a major admission:

Richard Dawkins: I can’t be sure God does not exist

He is regarded as the most famous atheist in the world but last night Professor Richard Dawkins admitted he could not be sure that God does not exist.

And God did create the universe and does exist.

This post, at the beginning, shows a picture promoting a movie by Ben Stein that basically states that scientists who demonstrate the reality of the creation of the universe are often discriminated against and not allowed to remain professors (or advance) at many institutions.  But the facts of science and biology support that idea that God does exist.  And while Professor Dawkins still has his doubts about God, it is nice that he is publicly willing to admit that he can doubt atheism.

Expert Warns of Waqf’s Dangerous Plans for Temple Mount

Archaeologist Dr. Eilat Mazar warned on Thursday about the plans of the Muslim religious authority, the Waqf, for the Temple Mount.

Speaking to Arutz Sheva, Mazar said that for the past 12 years, the Waqf has constantly built on the Temple Mount in an attempt to implement its final plan: the establishment of a huge mosque on the Mount…

Mazar said the Waqf’s final plan is to unite all the mosques on the Temple Mount and create one big mosque. She added that it has been working for years to put the plan into practice and warned that if this happens, Jews will not be able to go to the Temple Mount.

“We know that the Waqf’s goal is to unite all one the mosques, and unfortunately today it is far from being just an illusion,” she said. “We will definitely weep over this plan in the future.”  http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/153101

Some, especially evangelical Protestants who believe in a pre-tribulation rapture, believe that the Jews must build a physical temple in Jerusalem on that very spot.  And expansion plans by Waqf would tend to complicate the idea of the construction of a Jewish temple there.

However, the Bible does not require that such a temple be built (for details, please see Why is a Jewish Temple in Jerusalem Not Required?).  Yet, many in Israel do wish to build such a temple and have taken steps to produce sacrificial accessories associated with such a temple.  Perhaps I should add that the Bible does teach that the Jews will again start physical sacrifices as it shows that the sacrifices will be stopped (Daniel 9:27; 11:31).  Yet historically, the Jews have been able to do the sacrifices without a temple (Ezra 3:6), and currently the Sanhedrin in Israel believes that they can conduct animal sacrifices without the need for an actual temple (documented details are in the article Why is a Jewish Temple in Jerusalem Not Required?).

The Muslims, through Waqf, already have a strong presence at the site of the old Temple Mount (Har HaBayit) with their al-Aqsa Mosque.  If Waqf is actually expanding their presence there, this could become problematic for Israel. Unless something changes–and it will.

The Bible, interestingly, suggests that Jerusalem will be divided.   Notice the following biblical prophecy:

2 For I will gather all the nations to battle against Jerusalem;
The city shall be taken,
The houses rifled,
And the women ravished.
Half of the city shall go into captivity,
But the remnant of the people shall not be cut off from the city. (Zechariah 14:2, NKJV)

If half the city is Jewish and the other half not, then there would be a reason for only one half that city to go into captivity. This seems to allow for the idea that perhaps even part of the Temple Mount may be divided (it somewhat is now, but there may be more of an international agreement on the specifics in some type of future deal in the Middle East).

The Bible is clear that Jerusalem will be an issue in the end time:

2 Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of drunkenness to all the surrounding peoples, when they lay siege against Judah and Jerusalem. 3 And it shall happen in that day that I will make Jerusalem a very heavy stone for all peoples; all who would heave it away will surely be cut in pieces, though all nations of the earth are gathered against it.  (Zechariah 12:2-4)

Jerusalem, which the Palestinians want for their capital, and which is currently the capital of Israel, continues to be in the news in the 21st century.  And notice that there were even problems today:

World events continue to align with Bible prophecy.

An apparent peace deal will come in the Middle East (Daniel 9:27), though it may take a war to persuade some of the parties to make the deal, and it may involve the enforced dividing of Jerusalem.  While the enforced dividing of Jerusalem is something that Israel currently will not accept–if given enough assurances by the West in general and Europe in particular–Israel will accept this (the fact that a 2011 survey found that 81% of Israelis Want to Join the EU shows that Israel may accept a deal in the future that it currently does not find acceptable if the EU makes certain promises).

Events continue to heat up in the Middle East.

In its announcement dated 02/23/12, but posted today, COGWA has the following:

From Clyde Kilough: Since I wrote to you in the last Ministerial Newsletter, we have begun work on the website that will serve as our voice devoted exclusively to preaching the gospel to the world. The team at 30 Degrees North, along with several other individuals, is very busy planning and constructing this site; and our target for launching it is early June.

Officially, COGWA formed in December 2010. Its main five accomplishments since that time seem to have been:

1. Getting much of the paid US based ministry of the United Church of God to leave and support it.

4. Finding an office in Texas.

Although COGWA has claimed that public gospel proclamation was to be its top priority, it still has not been particularly effective with that.  However, it looks like it is making some effort, on the internet, at least.  Yet, I do not believe that COGWA has displayed the type of Philadelphia-era fruits that a Philadelphian Church of God should have demonstrated by this time.

The Euro went up today:

This differs from incorrect two emails I received in 2011. One was from a secular source which claimed that the Euro would be gone by the end of 2011.  The other was from the head of a claimed COG source that, while criticizing COGwriter writings on the subject of Europe, incorrectly stated, “The EU should “collapse” shortly as in before or after Xmas 2011, and that the EU will be nothing= no power at all.”

Well, the EU still exists as does the Euro. But despite the Euros current advancement, I believe that it will continue to have problems and it is still capable of dropping.

Why?

Carnally speaking, the Greek crisis really is not resolved–so I expect more problems with Greece.  Plus, there are other debt and structural problems in Europe.  Austerity programs in Europe, combined with ethnic and religious and other economic issues, will likely lead to unrest there.  And more than the civil unrest we have seen so far.  Greece and Romania, to name only two of the countries, are still unsettled and we are likely to see problems develop in France and elsewhere in Europe.

Biblically speaking, the Bible has long indicated that there would be problems with the European confederation (cf. Daniel 2:41-43).

Yet, the Bible shows that despite weakness (Daniel 11:41-43) there will be a reorganization in Europe (Revelation 17:12-13).   The Bible also shows that ultimately, a major dictator (and the person I currently suspect for that role currently holds no official high government office) will rise up and rule end time Babylon (Revelation 17:1-13), the final King of the North, European Beast power of Bible prophecy (Daniel 11:40).

As far as the Euro itself goes, regular readers of this page realize that I warned in my 2012 book that it could possibly be replaced.  It still could be, but, biblically, the Euro does not seem to have to be replaced. Civil unrest is likely to occur to a greater degree in Europe–and if so, the Euro could be risky at times.  We will see.

Today’s rise of the Euro because of the strength of the German economy is not unexpected.

James Malm, an “independent” who has a speculative and often partially inaccurate blog, posted the following today:

I wanted to link the above with some comments on the new moon because tonight is the New Moon; and because as the things I have been warning of come to pass, more and more people will give me some credit for accuracy in what I teach…

Right now I know that there are hundreds of people [over a thousand]  including elders who are thinking:  I agree with a lot he says on doctrine and the problems, but I have a problem with his prophecy.   His positions are completely new and are the exact opposite of what we have believed.   They are waiting to see the fruits of my effort, whether it is of God or not.  That is  a good and proper thing and I commend them!..

If this war concludes with the defeat of Radical Islam, the chances that the tribulation will begin at the end of this year will be about 70%.   If this pope dies the chances will increase to 80%.  If a new Pope begins to do miracles,  assists to set up a New Europe and is scheduled to visit Jerusalem: The chances that the tribulation will begin within 75 days of his selection as pope and setting up in Rome; and during the period of his visit to Jerusalem will be 100%.

The signs are in the scriptures.

James Malm’s work is not of God and I believe the facts demonstrate his lack of prophetic and often doctrinal false insight (also, some of what he has claimed to be new prophetic positions are not completely new nor unique to him).  Of course, based upon the scriptures, there is a 100% certainty that the Great Tribulation will not begin in 2012 and that James Malm is wrong.

Why?

Enough of the scriptural signs are simply not there yet.

The Europeans are not ready for their King of the North role yet and it is not possible that they will be any time next year either.  Matthew 24:14 has still not been fulfilled completely (related to gospel proclamation) and the end cannot come until it has been.  We have also not seen the type of wars, famines, and pestilences that Jesus described in Matthew 24:4-8 yet.  Nor have we seen a deal related to the one in Daniel 9:27.

As far as James Malm’s supposed prophetic accuracy, I have denounced several of his false predictions in the past, and so far I have been correct every time I have denounced him for claiming some date (for details, please see Error-Ridden James Malm Not Doing an Elijah Work).  And apparently at the end of this year I will be proven correct that his 70% estimate was too high as the Great Tribulation will not begin in 2012.  Perhaps I should add that even if the pope dies this year, then his 80% estimate will also be wrong.  Of course, James Malm will claim he was only 70-80% wrong, but the reality is that since there is no possibility that the Great Tribulation will begin in 2012, I stand by the fact that he is 100% wrong.

Of course, he will likely later claim that the 70% was based upon a war that may or may  not happen–fair enough.  Yet, in a 7/28/11 post titled Present Trends and Dating The Tribulation, James Malm wrote:

There is a very high likelihood that the tribulation will begin late next year; with the abomination being set up on or near  September 16th 2012 with the tribulation beginning on 30 Nov ~ 1 Dec time frame.

His speculation, whether or not he assigns a percentage to it (and high likelihood seems like he is teaching he believed that the Great Tribulation would most likely begin in 2012), is still going to be proven wrong not too many months from now.  There is NO LIKELIHOOD THAT THE GREAT TRIBULATION WILL START IN 2012.  Nor will the abomination be set up in September of 2012.

As I have written before, James Malm has also adopted certain positions discounting the future fulfillment of Daniel 11 that I believe will confuse and mislead his followers (for details, see Daniel 11: James Malm vs. Bob Thiel).

His followers really should search the scriptures, because if they truly understand them, they will realize that James Malm misunderstands much about Daniel 11, Matthew 24, and other aspects of end time prophecy.  It is not that he cannot get anything right (even the proven false prophet Ronald Weinland can, though his remaining followers will again be disappointed in 95 days when Jesus does not return like Ron Weinland has been predicting), but overall James Malm simply misunderstands Bible prophecy and those that believe him will be disappointed if they really believe that the Great Tribulation will happen in 2012.

People need to search the scriptures (cf. Acts 17:11), for if they do, they will realize that there is no possibility that the Great Tribulation can begin in 2012.

A British Member of Parliament (MP) is admitting a major risk for the UK:

A SPACE-BASED nuclear attack on Britain is “quite likely”, according to a Conservative MP. Mr Arbuthnot added: “it would actually have a far more devastating effect to use a nuclear weapon in this way than to explode a bomb in or on a city. The reason for that is it would, over a much wider area, take out things like the National Grid, on which we all rely for almost everything, take out the water system, the sewage system.

“And rapidly it would become very difficult to live in cities. I mean within a matter of a couple of days.

A nuclear device detonated up to 500 miles above the earth’s surface could generate an electro-magnetic pulse (EMP) with a “devastating” effect on power supplies, telecommunications and other vital systems, the Commons Defence Committee said.

The UK is absolutely at risk for an emp-type attack as well as devastation from solar flares.  As I have written before, I suspect that the USA itself is liable to be hit by a significant solar flare and/or some type of electronic magnetic pulse weapon (emp bomb) before it is gone.  Canada and other locations are also at risk.  A “successful” emp detonation could bring down computers, communications’ systems, electrical grids, etc. and truly devastate modern societies.

I suspect that Europe’s Galileo “GPS” satellites might do better in a solar flare or a pulse bomb attack as their satellites are generally newer than the satellites that countries like the USA and UK have been using.  If so, this could give the Europeans a massive military advantage over the USA that few would even consider could be coming.

If there is an emp attack of one or more of the Anglo-descended nations, presuming that it came from terrorist sources, it could be part of a so-called “perfect storm” of events that could set the USA and UK up for utter destruction.  I believe that the debt situation of the USA and UK are putting them at risk of being unable to recover should one or both countries be hit by weather problems, solar flares, severe earthquakes, civil unrest, devastation of their genetically-modified food supplies, food shortages, and/or various pestilences–an intensity of “sorrows” such as Jesus discussed in Matthew 24:4-8 leading up to the time of the Great Tribulation.  Of course, another possibility is that an emp-type attack will help start the time of Jacob’s trouble (Jeremiah 30:7), known by most as the Great Tribulation (Matthew 24:21).  And maybe there will be multiple emp-attacks and/or devastating solar flare incidents.

As far as solar flares go, they were also discussed in my book 2012 and the Rise of the Secret Sect. Here are a few passages related to them:

A year later and millions of Americans are dead and the nation’s infrastructure lies in tatters. The World Bank declares America a developing nation. Europe, Scandinavia, China and Japan are also struggling to recover from the same fateful event – a violent storm, 150 million kilometres away on the surface of the sun…

According to the NAS report, a severe space weather event in the US could induce ground currents that would knock out 300 key transformers within about 90 seconds, cutting off the power for more than 130 million people…

The truly shocking finding is that this whole situation would not improve for months, maybe years…

As  N.A.S.A./N.O.A.A. report indicated that the next solar cycle peak may be later, like May 2013.

Both solar flares and emp-type weapons have similar devastating potential.

There are real risks for the USA, Canada, UK, and other nations. But most ignore warning signs. Will you?
