Friday and this morning, the wheels came off our stock market. The Dow Jones Industrial Average plunged 871 points in just two trading days, while the S&P 500 sank to a three-and-a-half-month low. The Nasdaq Composite tumbled more than 113 points after losing 202 points at the end of last week.But even that doesn’t speak to the carnage in select sectors and assets. …

What’s behind this financial bloodbath? The Brexit vote is the immediate trigger, obviously. Wall Street went into Thursday’s close ecstatic about the “Remain” vote they were confident was coming … only to get completely blindsided when “Leave” won. So investors were caught massively offsides, and have been scrambling ever sense to sell and/or hedge in order to get in better position.

It’s much more than that, though. European politicians and global central bankers are running around trying to figure out what to do, holding panicked meetings, teleconferences, and conversations on both sides of the Atlantic and Pacific.But as I asked the other day, what more can they really do? They’ve already slashed interest rates more than 650 times. They’ve already bought more assets than ever before, artificially inflating virtually every market on the planet in the process. And they’ve already pledged to do “whatever it takes” more times than I can count.

But none of their medicine actually worked for the real economy — and in fact, it’s now actually hurting more than helping. Of course, often markets often rise as well. As I wrote late last year, it was likely we would have financial volatility in 2016 (see M&M: Expect financial volatility in 2016). And now we see it.

It is true, as Mike Larson wrote, that the usual government ‘solutions’ have been tried.

It is also likely that the governments in Europe, as well as in the USA and UK, have provide ‘liquidity’ to the markets to try to stop them from experiencing a free fall.

Many ordinary investors, as well as institutional ones, are getting hurt by this.

The ‘liquidity’ provided is normally an increase supply of electronic, and sometimes printed, money. This tends to decrease price drops.

Now as Mike Larson correctly pointed out, there is a major need to improve the REAL economy.  But that is difficult and beyond what politicians can do much about, especially in the short run.

Partially to ‘stimulate’ economies, as well as dealing with various crises, governments have devalued their currencies by making their coins ‘dross’ and this has led to various problems throughout history.

This diluting of the value of coinage/currency is condemned in the Bible.

4 Take away the dross from silver (Proverbs 25:4a).

22 Your silver has become dross, Your wine mixed with water. (Isaiah 1:22)

25 I will turn My hand against you, And thoroughly purge away your dross, And take away all your alloy. (Isaiah 1:25)

18 “Son of man, the house of Israel has become dross to Me; they are all bronze, tin, iron, and lead, in the midst of a furnace; they have become dross from silver. 19 Therefore thus says the Lord God: ‘Because you have all become dross, therefore behold, I will gather you into the midst of Jerusalem. 20 As men gather silver, bronze, iron, lead, and tin into the midst of a furnace, to blow fire on it, to melt it; so I will gather you in My anger and in My fury, and I will leave you there and melt you. 21 Yes, I will gather you and blow on you with the fire of My wrath, and you shall be melted in its midst. 22 As silver is melted in the midst of a furnace, so shall you be melted in its midst; then you shall know that I, the Lord, have poured out My fury on you.’” (Ezekiel 22:18-22)

Although the Bible warns against using dross and diluting the money supply, modern ‘experts’ have a different view. The wrong views on economics will lead to economic problems and ultimately the total crash of the dollar of the USA.

As I have long written, economic problems in Europe will likely propel the rise of the Beast power that the Bible warns about.

In a sermon on July 7, 1984, the late Herbert W. Armstrong stated:

And I can see now, the event that is going to trigger the formation of the reunification in Europe; the resurrection of the medieval Holy Roman Empire that we’ve been looking forward to that is prophesied to come…

But I believe that some event is going to happen suddenly just like out a blue sky that is going to shock the whole world and is going to cause the nations in Europe to realize they must unite! … Well now I think I can see what may be the very event that is going to trigger…that is the economic situation in the world…

The whole banking structure in the United States is a network all jointed together. But not only that, one nation has to deal with other nations and imports and exports. And so they have to have a means of transforming money from one nation to another. And so the banking structure is international and interwoven…

Now when the financial structure breaks down, all civilization is going to break down…

Although Herbert W. Armstrong had issues with some of his prophetic and other writings, his observations about what may propel the rise of the Beast power in Europe seem to be consistent with what is happening now: the main reason that countries seem to wish to be part of the European Union is economic.  There are also defense reasons, which for most have been secondary, but the defense portion will also be involved in the rise.  It is also likely that Islamic issues will lead to the rise.

As I wrote a few days ago, it was my view that, contrary to positions expressed by Franklin Graham, the Brexit vote would bring us closer to the time of the end (see Franklin Graham claims Brexit vote is a blow to ‘one world government,’ but . . .).

The time for the European King of the North to emerge is getting closer. The Brexit vote was one step in that direction (watch also Post Brexit Prophecy).

The Destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah

To close out the last weekend of the so called ‘Gay Pride Month,’ there was a record breaking ‘pride’ parade in New York City:

New York Pride March …

NEW YORK—“We are Orlando!” exclaimed the master of ceremonies, draped in U.S. stars and stripes, at the start of New York’s 46th annual Pride march.

The LGBT celebration, which extended more than 30 blocks along Manhattan’s Fifth Avenue Sunday, attracted a record breaking 32,000 marchers, including New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, civil rights leader Al Sharpton, and a surprise guest: presidential candidate Hillary Clinton. http://www.voanews.com/content/new-york-lgbt-pride-march/3393354.html

Yesterday, I heard a woman who attended the above parade make the following statement on national radio:

I am a homosexual girl.  I need everyone’s acceptance.

Well, she will not get it. Her lifestyle choice is wrong.

The Bible clearly teaches that it is, and the Bible also teaches that acceptance of this behavior is also wrong:

9 Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, 10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. (1 Corinthians 6:9-10)

26 For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. 27 Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due.28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting; 29 being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers, 30 backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31 undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful; 32 who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them. (Romans 1:26-32)

People should not act like homosexuality is an acceptable behavior.  It is not.

Yet, the President of the USA took steps to make homosexual ‘rights’ a subject of national ‘pride.’ Here is something from a few days ago:

The Stonewall Inn has stood witness to countless events of pride and pain, of joy and sorrow, with plenty of dancing and drinking to keep it all going. Today, it gets another distinction as it becomes the anchor for the first national monument dedicated to the struggle for gay rights.

President Barack Obama declared the bar on Christopher Street in the West Village, where 47 years ago police mounted a raid and a diverse group of LGBT patrons fought back, and its surrounding area to be a protected National Park Service spot. The actual monument covers a 7.7-acre area that includes the bar, which remains a private business, as well as a broader section around Christopher Street and 7th Avenue, which was the heart of the city’s gay community for decades. http://www.bizjournals.com/newyork/news/2016/06/24/gay-pride-2016-obama-gives-stonewall-inn-national.html

As far as a ‘monument’ for homosexuality, consider that is what the memories of Sodom and Gomorrah are according to the Bible.

The Bible tells of destruction that occurred in the towns of Sodom and Gomorrah between three thousand and four thousand years ago:

24 Then the Lord rained brimstone and fire on Sodom and Gomorrah, from the Lord out of the heavens. 25 So He overthrew those cities, all the plain, all the inhabitants of the cities, and what grew on the ground. (Genesis 19:24-25)

And why did it happen?

7 as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities around them in a similar manner to these, having given themselves over to sexual immorality and gone after strange flesh, are set forth as an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire. (Jude 7)

Homosexuality is a form of sexual immorality that involves going after “strange flesh.” That is why those towns were destroyed.

Why mention this in the 21st century?

Because God turned:

6…the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes, condemned them to destruction, making them an example to those who afterward would live ungodly (2 Peter 2:6)

Thus, the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah was to serve as an example to those who would live as they did. Yet despite biblical warnings, many modern leaders are endorsing so-called homosexual “rights.” The Bible, however, warns about such leaders:

12…Those who lead you cause you to err, And destroy the way of your paths. (Isaiah 3:12)

16 For the leaders of this people cause them to err, And those who are led by them are destroyed (Isaiah 9:16).

So, leaders that ignore what the Bible teaches are leading others toward destruction.

The Bible teaches that homosexuality is wrong and is dangerous (for more scriptures, check out the article The Bible Condemns Homosexuality).

Early Christian leaders who lived after the Bible was written, like Polycarp of Smyrna and Melito of Sardis, also condemned illicit sexual behaviors including homosexuality:

Knowing, then, that “God is not mocked,” we ought to walk worthy of His commandment and glory …For it is well that they should be cut off from the lusts that are in the world, since “every lust warreth against the spirit; ” and “neither fornicators, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, shall inherit the kingdom of God,” nor those who do things inconsistent and unbecoming (Polycarp. Letter to the Philippians, Chapter V. From Ante-Nicene Fathers, Volume 1as edited by Alexander Roberts & James Donaldson. American Edition, 1885).

53. But in addition to this there were to be found among men many things still more monstrous and terrifying and brutal: father cohabits with his child, and son and with his mother, and brother with sister, and male with male, and each man lusting after the wife of his neighbor. (Melito’s Homily on the Passover)

Real Christianity does not approve of homosexuality.

Yes, there are some Protestant and other leaders who claim otherwise, but that is because they do not wish to accept what the Bible actually teaches on the subject.  More wrong arguments from Protestant leaders are dealt with in the video sermon: What Does the Bible Really Teach about Homosexuality?

Sodom and Gomorrah are God’s monuments to the homosexual movement. And He does not want people to have ‘pride parades’ indicating that homosexuality is acceptable to Him.

Having record homosexual pride parades does not bode well for the USA.

Analysts were stunned because they walked by sight and not the Bible and do not know where this will lead.

But this vote to depart the European Union was not a shock to those who held views similar to the old Radio Church of God, old Worldwide Church of God, or the current Continuing Church of God.

As far as what can accurately be known for the future, we in the Continuing Church of God “have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts” (2 Peter 1:19, KJV).” The Bible is accurate and its predictions can be counted on.

Now, let’s look at some statements put out by the writers once part of the old Radio Church of God, old Worldwide Church of God, and/or the current Continuing Church of God:

Here is Britain trying to GET IN on this uniting of Europe! … It is this same daughter of ancient Babylon who is to lay the YOKE of captivity and slavery on America and Britain. …

Britain is allowing it self to get mixed in with European foreigners… When God brings Britain DOWN-the rime of JACOBS’ S TROUBLE -the only time when the DAUGHTER of Babylon will be sitting astride a united MILITARY EUROPE. (Armstrong HW. BRITAIN’S DOOM Prophesied for Common Market Seeking Membership! Plain Truth, July 1962)

Bible prophecy clearly shows that Britain will not be one of the … NATIONS comprising the final United States of Europe (McNair R. A Strong United Europe. Tomorrow’s World, February 1970, p. 17).

Ephraim (modern Great Britain) will not be part of the “Beast” power, so we can expect some significant change that will push the British out of the EU. (Davis. D. Ireland says “No!” to EU power grab. Commentary, July, 1 2008)

Perhaps it should be mentioned that the general position within the Churches of God is that Britain will not remain in the EU and will pull out at some point. (Thiel B. It should be understood that ultimately, Britain will NOT thrive as part of the EU but will be taken over by the final European Beast power–yet its former Prime Minister is promoting something that will not help the peoples of the UK. The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland will not be an equal part of the European Union. Britain will either pull out or be forced out or at least truly lose its sovereignty. Many of the Anglo-peoples of the UK, USA, etc. that are not killed will to be scattered and many will be made slaves (Will the Anglo-Nations be Divided and Have People Taken as Slaves?). That is what the Bible shows will happen during the Great Tribulation.

As far as this “Beast King” goes, he could possibly be the next EU president, but a restructure ultimately will be needed in Europe for the King of the North to have the type of power that the Bible indicate he will have (Revelation 17:12-13). The EU is not ready for that yet.

However, Tony Blair’s statements today are pointing to one more step towards certain biblical prophesies being fulfilled as he is realizing that the UK wants to pull out of the UK–and that is something will happen (directly or indirectly).

The final King of the North (Daniel 11:27-40) will take over the UK, USA, and their Anglo-allies according to Bible prophecy (cf. Daniel 11:39). While more people in the UK are starting to realize that the EU poses dangers to it, most have no idea how dangerous the rising Beast power in Europe will become (cf. Revelation 13:1-4; Daniel 11:39). Britain will ultimately NOT thrive as part of the EU but will be taken over by the final European Beast power. (Thiel B. Back in the early 1990s, when I was vice president of an irrigation equipment manufacturer, I told our British sales representative, who was visiting the factory in California, that one day the UK would separate from Europe. He flat out told me that could not possibly happen. And he gave reasons, but they were not biblical ones–I told him he was in error. The Brexit vote shows that he, who was not part of the Church of God, was in error.

Notice also something that was in my article Must the Ten Kings of Revelation 17:12 Rule over Ten Currently Existing Nations?) two years BEFORE the Brexit vote:

While I do expect violent unrest in Europe, and some losses to Europe including the United Kingdom, this does not mean that the final beast power will have to be restricted to 10-11 existing nations.

Those of us in the Church of God were right about this.

Does this mean that I knew for an absolute fact that the UK would vote on the 23rd of June to leave.

No.

But I have long known that the UK’s situation with the Europeans would have to change, and it has–whether or not the UK’s parliament will let this happen.

And there is a lot more which will change.

Back on July 13, 2011, I posted, “the EU will appear fragile per Daniel 2:42-43 and will ultimately reorganize per Revelation 17:13” (see EU President Committed to Euro Stability).

The world does not believe the word of God and because of that cannot know what will happen in Europe or what will happen to the UK.

But you can know how this fits with the broad prophetic picture.

Why?

Because we in the Continuing Church of God “have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts” (2 Peter 1:19, KJV).”

Because the Bible is accurate, its predictions can be counted on. And various Church of God writers have written about Bible prophecy throughout the church age.

As far as the future goes, ultimately a European power will take the UK over (see Europa, the Beast, and Revelation).

The time of Jacob’s trouble (Jeremiah 30:7), also known as the Great Tribulation, is coming. The UK will be affected by it.

The UK will one day be taken over by a European power and its peoples made slaves.

But God will end that captivity when He establishes His kingdom. That last part is the good news of the Kingdom of God.

That is what the Bible says and the analysts overlook.

Is persecution for Christians over?

Well, obviously not.

In addition to persecution for those who profess Christ in various Islamic lands, losing religious rights and freedoms in certain Western lands, and the promotion of immoral behavior by nations around the world, persecution will specifically be coming to true Christians.

Jesus foretold persecution.

Many are aware of some of the early persecutions, but few understand what teachings true Christians were persecuted for in the fourth century and beyond–some may seem shocking. At least two major persecutions are prophesied to come. Which doctrines are expected to be causes for the coming persecutions? Are the Greco-Roman churches planning on persecuting Sabbath-keepers, those who do not accept a non-biblical Mary, and those who do not wear crosses?

All the faithful will be subject to persecution and being betrayed by professing believers (Matthew 24:9-13, Mark 13:12-13; Luke 21:16-18; Daniel 11:32-35).

In the past (for details see Persecutions by Church and State), Christians in the Church of God were persecuted because they:

• Kept Passover on the 14th
• Refused to eat unclean meat
• Would work on Sunday
• Had false accusations railed against them
• Were binitarian
• Kept the Sabbath
• Were not trinitarian
• Taught that the pope was an Antichrist and precursor of the final Antichrist
• Rejected papal authority
• Did not accept idols
• Had different teachings than the Church of Rome
• Had writings Rome did not like
• Rejected Roman sacraments
• Objected to the dress of the Roman ministry
• Considered Rome to be the prophesied Babylon
• Taught that in the time of the final Antichrist that some would fall away
• Had practices that Rome considered Jewish
• Refused to baptize infants
• Did not participate in carnal warfare
• Taught the Kingdom of God
• Teaching the millennium
• Baptized adults

Almost all the above were beliefs of original first century Christians.  Some of the others did not come on the scene until they were adopted by the Greco-Romans and then later denounced by the faithful.

In the future, according to Catholic teachings, they ALSO will be persecuted for:

• Not accepting non-biblical teachings about Mary
• Not accepting the Great Monarch (Beast, King of the North)
• Teaching that the Kingdom of God will come soon
• Not wearing crosses
• Teaching after the Great Tribulation begins, that Jesus will return within a few years

Christians have been persecuted for holding doctrines that we in the Continuing Church of God hold and are clearly expected to be persecuted in the future for holding Continuing Church of God doctrines.

The Book of Daniel shows a two-part persecution coming (I added the a and b below for emphasis):

25 a He shall speak pompous words against the Most High, Shall persecute the saints of the Most High, And shall intend to change times and law. Then the saints shall be given into his hand b For a time and times and half a time. (Daniel 7:25)

First of all (a), he shall persecute certain of the saints, which is consistent with what Jesus said was coming:

9 “Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake. 10 And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. 11 Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. 12 And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. 13 But he who endures to the end shall be saved. 14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come. (Matthew 24:9-14)

Much of the above will affect the Philadelphian Christians (cf. Revelation 12:13), but they will later be protected (Revelation 3:8-10) in the wilderness for a time, times, and half a time (Revelation 12:14-16; see also There is a Place of Safety for the Philadelphians. Why it May Be Petra). Part of why they will be persecuted is for proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom and probably also for identifying the coming King of the North, who will not wish to be identified that way. This will likely result in internet and other restrictions on getting the truth of God out to the world (cf. Amos 8:11-12).

Second of all (b), the remaining saints will be given into his hand for a time, times, and half a time. This is the portion of the COG, the non-Philadelphians, who are NOT protested in the wilderness as Revelation 12:17 shows this separation:

17 And the dragon was enraged with the woman, and he went to make war with the rest of her offspring, who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ. (Revelation 12:17)

While many in the Church of God have experienced economic and social persecution in their walk with Christ, future severe persecution, beginning first with the Philadelphia remnant of Christians, is expected.

Persecution is a fact of history. It has happened before and we should be prepared for the fact that it will happen again. And during the time of the final persecutions, the Bible records:

12 Here is the patience of the saints; here are those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus (Revelation 14:12).

Thus, though the Philadelphian Christians will be subject to intense persecution first before this, even the Laodiceans (The Laodicean Church Era) and other Christians will receive some praise if they endure the persecutions that will then come during the time of “the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world” (Revelation 3:10).

While many seem to not wish to pay attention to this subject, the reality is that persecution has existed throughout history against those with Church of God doctrines. Jesus predicted that as well as more persecution to come. Some may be shocked by certain doctrines that Christians have been persecuted for (and often by those who profess to be Christian).

Those in the true Church of God have always been on the side being persecuted and has never been on the side of the persecutors. And this will be true again in the future.

Someone forwarded me an anonymous email today that contained the following:

The war started in the 7th century and lasted through the 17th century. I would contend it never stopped but historically the facts below are correct.

This is why I choke when I hear someone say we will defeat or contain these Islamic terrorists in a few years  (or even 30 years as recently stated by Leon Panetta).

If the latest batch of murders, beheadings, and killing of innocent Christians has shocked you, maybe you should read this compilation of historical facts about the hatred of Muslims.

In 732 A.D.      the Muslim Army, which was moving on Paris, was defeated and turned back at Tours, France, by Charles Martell.

In 1571 A.D.    the Muslim Army/Navy was defeated by the Italians and Austrians as they tried to cross the Mediterranean to attack southern Europe in the Battle of Lepanto.

In 1683 A.D.    the Turkish Muslim Army, attacking Eastern Europe, was finally defeated in the Battle of Vienna by German and Polish Christian Armies. …

Reflecting:  A lot of Americans have become so insulated from reality that they imagine that America can suffer defeat without any inconvenience to themselves. Pause a moment and reflect back. 

These events are actual events from history. They really happened!  Do you remember?   

The following list is VERY incomplete.  President Jefferson had to deal with this early on.

 48 years since 1968 and this just keeps going on and on.

1. In 1968,   Bobby Kennedy was shot and killed by a Muslim male. 

2. In 1972,          at the Munich Olympics, Israeli athletes were kidnapped and massacred by Muslim males.

3. In 1972,           a Pan Am 747 was hijacked and eventually diverted to Cairo where a fuse was lit on final approach. Shortly after landing it was blown up by Muslim males.

4. In 1973,           a Pan Am 707 was destroyed in Rome, with 33 people killed, when it was attacked with grenades by Muslim males.

5. In 1979,         the US embassy in Iran was taken over by Muslim males.

6. During the 1980’s                  a number of Americans were kidnapped in Lebanon by Muslim males.

7. In 1983,            the US Marine barracks in Beirut was blown up by Muslim males.

8. In 1985,          the cruise ship Achille Lauro was hijacked and a 70-year old American passenger was murdered and thrown overboard in his wheelchair by Muslim males.

9. In 1985,         TWA flight 847 was hijacked at Athens, and a US Navy diver trying to rescue passengers was murdered by Muslim males.

10. In 1988,      Pan Am Flight 103 was bombed by Muslim males.

11. In 1993,       the World Trade Center was bombed the first time by Muslim males.

12. In 1998,     the US embassies in Kenya and Tanzania were bombed by Muslim males.

13. On 9/11/01, four airliners were hijacked; two were used as missiles to take down the World Trade Centers and of the remaining two, one crashed into the US Pentagon and the other was diverted and crashed by the passengers. Thousands of people were killed by Muslim males.

14. In 2002,     the United States fought a war in Afghanistan against Muslim males.

15. In 2002, reporter Daniel Pearl was kidnapped and beheaded by – you guessed it – a Muslim male. (Plus two other American journalists who were just recently beheaded).

16. In 2013,     the Boston Marathon Bombing resulted in 4 Innocent people, (including a child) being killed and 264 people injured by Muslim males.

No Obama, I really don’t see a pattern here to justify profiling, do you?

So, to ensure we Americans never offend anyone, particularly fanatics intent on killing us,  airport security screeners will no longer be allowed to profile certain people.

So, ask yourself “Just how stupid are we???”

Absolutely No Profiling!

They must conduct random searches of 80-year-old women, little kids, airline pilots with proper identification, secret agents who are members of the Obama’s security detail, 85-year-old Congressmen with metal hips, and Medal of Honor winner and former Governor Joe Foss, BUT……..leave Muslim Males alone lest we be guilty of profiling. 

Ask yourself, “Just how stupid are we?” Have the American people completely lost their minds or just their Power of Reason???

Perhaps it should be added here that the Church of Rome and the Eastern Orthodox were involved in battles against Islam, and started the Crusades. And that many of the early airline hijackings were NOT done by Muslim males. So not all terrorism has been caused by Muslim males.

That being said, there certainly has been problems from Islamic terrorists.

When the Orlando shootings happened, I quickly referred to what occurred as Islamic terrorism (see Muslim terrorist kills around 50 at homosexual night club in Orlando, Florida), but US President Barack Obama, who had more information available than I did, but also would have had the information I was able to access, refused to call it an act of Islamic terrorism.  But it was.

There is a chart at the beginning of this post about Islamic terrorists and suspects in the USA.  Notice the increase that began in 2009, the year that Barack Obama took office.  Also notice the following comments about the chart:

As you can see, 2015 saw the greatest number of jihadi plots on U.S. soil since those horrific events in Manhattan, Washington, and Pennsylvania. The Muslim sympathizing US President does not want Americans to equate Muslims with terrorism. And although none of the Muslims I have ever known were terrorists (and we always have gotten along well), the reality is that there is a problem of terrorism associated with Islam.

As federal officials continue to investigate any connection the Orlando gunman might have had to the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), the Republican Party is pinning the blame on President Obama for failing to contain and defeat the terrorist group abroad.

“We face a growing and significant threat from ISIL, and contrary to what the administration would have you believe, we face a threat at home and abroad from an ever capable al Qaeda,” Sen. Richard Burr, R-North Carolina, said in a video released Saturday, referring to another name for the extremist organization. “We have learned from 15 years at war that we cannot sit back and expect to be protected at home by the great expanse of the Atlantic and Pacific oceans.”

Burr, chair of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, criticized the president for simply paying “lip service” to the threat the terror groups pose, rather than taking them seriously.

“The challenge we face today is unlike one we have ever known,” he said. “The terrorists are not new, and their message is not new. It is their leveraging of our freedoms, technology and innovation to kill that makes this new and a real threat. That’s why the Obama administration needs to treat the threat posed by ISIL seriously and lead a campaign to defeat and not merely ‘contain’ the terrorist group.”

“The administration has paid lip service to the threat and has taken small steps in some areas and not in others,” Burr continued. “But it has not directed the full capabilities of this great nation against this problem.”

As menti0ned many times on this news page, the Bible tells of a time of terror:

14 ‘But if you do not obey Me, and do not observe all these commandments, 15 and if you despise My statutes, or if your soul abhors My judgments, so that you do not perform all My commandments, but break My covenant, 16 I also will do this to you: I will even appoint terror over you, wasting disease and fever which shall consume the eyes and cause sorrow of heart. And you shall sow your seed in vain, for your enemies shall eat it. 17 I will set My face against you, and you shall be defeated by your enemies. Those who hate you shall reign over you, and you shall flee when no one pursues you. (Leviticus 26:14-17)

25 The sword shall destroy outside; There shall be terror within (Deuteronomy 32:25)

12 “Cry and wail, son of man; For it will be against My people, Against all the princes of Israel. Terrors including the sword will be against My people; Therefore strike your thigh. (Ezekiel 21:12)

12 Behold, these are the ungodly,Who are always at ease; They increase in riches…19 Oh, how they are brought to desolation, as in a moment! They are utterly consumed with terrors. (Psalms 73:12,19)

25 Because you disdained all my counsel, And would have none of my rebuke, 26 I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your terror comes, 27 When your terror comes like a storm, And your destruction comes like a whirlwind, When distress and anguish come upon you. (Proverbs 1:25-27)

5 Also they are afraid of height, And of terrors in the way (Ecclesiastes 12:5).

As far as peoples who dominate Islamic lands, notice the following prophecy:

3 They have taken crafty counsel against Your people,
And consulted together against Your sheltered ones.
4 They have said, “Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation,
That the name of Israel may be remembered no more.”

5 For they have consulted together with one consent;
They form a confederacy against You:
6 The tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites;
Moab and the Hagrites;
7 Gebal, Ammon, and Amalek;
Philistia with the inhabitants of Tyre;
8 Assyria also has joined with them;
They have helped the children of Lot. (Psalms 83:3-8)

Nearly all the above peoples are in lands dominated by Islam (for details of which term means which nation, check out the article Is the Future King of the South Rising Up?)–including lands that the Islamic State is controlling.

Psalm 83 is very likely to involve terrorism.

Why?

Because taking “crafty counsel” sounds like plotting terrorism. Plus there are Islamic writings that encourage terrorism. Notice something from the Qur’an:

Getting back to the Bible, notice also that Psalm 83 teaches a deal will happen involving Assyria (an end time European power), which is prophesied elsewhere to takeover the USA and UK (see also Germany in Biblical Prophecy).

It should also be noted that the Bible tells of a deal to be done between the end time European King of the North and the end time King of the South in Daniel 11:27.  The final King of the South is described as controlling lands that are currently dominated by Islam.  The Bible also teaches that several verses later, the power on the earth with the ‘strongest fortresses,’ which in the 21st century would point to the USA, will be taken over.

While Islamic terrorism will NOT defeat the USA per se, it is very likely to be a factor to weaken the USA and distract it, so the USA will not be able to withstand its prophesied invasion, as the Bible shows it will be defeated.

Now, a few years BEFORE that invasion takes place, the Bible tells of a time of a temporary peace deal in the Middle East in Daniel 9:27 (see also The ‘Peace Deal’ of Daniel 9:27).  This will lull people into thinking that the threat of Islamic terrorism is greatly reduced–which for a time it will be.  But that will not last.  The Bible teaches:

3 For when they say, “Peace and safety!” then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape. 4 But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief. 5 You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness. 6 Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober. (1 Thessalonians 5:3-6)

The Bible does show us many things that will happen.

It appears that Islamic terrorism, followed by a lull will occur.

While history does not exactly repeat itself, it often displays similar patterns.

Islamic terrorism will continue, even if US President Barack Obama does not want to publicly admit it.

This is the first commandment God gave to Adam and Eve:

Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh. And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed (Genesis 2:24-25).

Mankind has, to a large degree, obeyed this command through the centuries, though too often out of order. Today, it is common for young people to do it backwards: get naked and have sex (“one flesh”), then think about getting married and/or being able to afford to leave mother and father. Such a practice is absolutely devastating to family and future. But it essentially taught in most public schools. Most secular counselors today teach sex between consenting adults (and maybe teens) is fine as long as love is involved. But what does God say?

Imitate God, therefore, in everything you do, because you are his dear children. Live a life filled with love, following the example of Christ. He loved us and offered himself as a sacrifice for us, a pleasing aroma to God. Let there be no sexual immorality, impurity, or greed among you. Such sins have no place among God’s people. Ob – scene stories, foolish talk, and coarse jokes — these are not for you. Instead, let there be thankfulness to God. You can be sure that no immoral, impure, or greedy person will inherit the Kingdom of Christ and of God. For a greedy person is an idolater, worshiping the things of this world. Don’t be fooled by those who try to excuse these sins, for the anger of God will fall on all who disobey him. Don’t participate in the things these people do (Ephesians 5:1-7, NLT).

The goal of public school sex education is to help teens make “informed choices” and practice “safe sex”—avoiding diseases and unwanted pregnancy. But after decades of that kind of education, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention tells us there are still 110 million Americans with Sexually Transmissible Infections. Also, in round numbers, there are about 2 million unwanted babies born in the USA each year. Half of them are aborted, the other half are raised by somebody who may or may not love them: maybe both parents, but more likely one parent, a grand parent, a friend, a foster family or a combination of the above.

The Tough Lessons of Reality

These unplanned children are the focal point of family fights, custody battles, child support cases, abuse, government assistance cases, and so many other things that make their lives and our lives unhappy. This writer has worked in a ministry to homeless people for the past four years and has experience first-hand the children—some now adults—who grew up knowing they were unwanted by one or both parents.

In our brief experience helping homeless single women with unplanned pregnancies, we have experienced nearly the full spectrum of difficulties: The mother wants to keep her baby and her family wants him (babies are “him” for clarity) aborted. Her family wants the baby but her mother wants him aborted. The mother wants the baby and the father does not—and vice versa. A women wants a baby so bad they are willing to get pregnant by almost anyone—because she wants someone to love and hopes the baby will love her. The mother wants a baby to get his government assistance and child support. A woman wants a baby, but frequently leaves him with family and friends for extended periods of time— sometimes without warning. Some men do not care about child support because they never planned to work. Our courts often do become wise to these situations and terminate current and future parental rights to these irresponsible parents.

We have known people who told partners they were infertile so that they could have unprotected sex—but were actually lying. Our homeless ministry once housed three women who were all told a similar story by the same man—and who had all gotten pregnant by him. On the opposite side, we have seen women claim to be pregnant when they were not—either hoping a man would marry her thinking she had his baby, or simply because others would give things to a poor single mom. All of these lies just make it more difficult for people to practice the truth of God and to care for the real babies and mothers who honestly want help, and who often got into such a mess without knowing what they are doing. Indeed, some of them grew up with their parents frequently lying to them and having sex with whoever was convenient at the moment.

Men have long-term consequences as well as women. Once a court orders a man to pay child support, if he gets behind in his payments, he is likely to have his wages or bank account garnished or his driver’s license suspended—anywhere in the country. This is in some ways like the biblical requirement for a single man who has sex with a single women—me must pay the “bride price” no matter what, but the woman’s father can refuse him as a husband (Ex 22:16- 17). Needless to say, immoral men who are able to earn a good living do not like the prospect of paying child support for 18 years to someone they do not really care about.

One future-thinking immoral man we knew, when a girl friend told him she was pregnant by him, committed a burglary and used the proceeds to pay for their baby’s abortion. He was sentenced to a couple years in prison for the burglary, but the abortion was legal. Another woman who previously stayed with us had an immoral boyfriend who was not so future-thinking. She obtained court- ordered child support, so he moved to another state hoping to avoid it. When back child support payments caught up with him, his solution was to come back and kill their baby. He is now doing a life sentence in prison. This is just part of the mess that grows out of unmarried sex. Our nation, legislature and our courts will some day be judged for telling our mothers and fathers it is all right to kill their babies—as long as they do it before they are born. But so many young people simply do not think about any of these complications when they want sex without commitment.

Almost as sad, are some of the parents who decide to keep and love their unplanned children, but simply are not able to. Some of them have so little knowledge of the things they need: how to build good relationship, why a lifelong marriage is important, how to get a job, how to work hard at a job, how to keep their home organized, how to teach and train a child, etc. Most of them are running on the media’s teaching that sex and relationships are fun, and the “sex education” they had in high school.

Sex education teaches “informed choices”, but sometimes all of the choices are bad. A parent with an unwanted child is often left to choose between:

1) Abort (kill) the baby.
2) Raise the baby knowing one or more people will likely be forever angry at the baby (because of child support payments or because the baby will remind them of someone’s illegitimate sex).
3) Put the baby up for adoption (which may be a disaster for the parent who loves the baby—and a future nightmare when the child later decides to find out who are his or her real parents and who abandoned him or her).

The “sex education” method to prevent this problem is to better educate them to practice “safe sex”. But that goes against the nature of sex. It is so powerful; it is so emotional. When sex is awesome, one’s logical processes give way to one’s passion. And that is good. People should experience sex to the fullest. God said it was very good (Genesis 1:31). But that is why He said sex belongs in marriage—where there are loving, committed parents to raise any babies that come along— planned or not. But when sex is outside of marriage, when powerful passions cause people not to remember the pregnancy prevention they learned in high school, the result is millions of unplanned pregnancies and STIs. Sure, there are many birth control methods that boast over 95% effectiveness. This writer has met individuals who claimed to have gotten pregnant while using nearly every one of the different available “foolproof” methods.

Even if sex education programs had 10 times the budget and could become 10 times as effective, they would still be failures. 11 million Americans with STD’s and 200,000 unwanted babies born every year would still be way too many.

Many of those stories Norman Edwards relates are heartbreaking.

All need to heed the following from the Apostle Paul:

13 Now the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body… 1 Corinthians 6:18

18 Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body. (1 Corinthians 6:13,18; KJV)

8 Nor let us commit sexual immorality, as some of them did, and in one day twenty-three thousand fell; 9 nor let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed by serpents; 10 nor complain, as some of them also complained, and were destroyed by the destroyer. 11 Now all these things happened to them as examples, and they were written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the ages have come.

12 Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall. 13 No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it. (1 Corinthians 10:8-13)

Jesus taught:

27 “You have heard that it was said to those of old, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ 28 But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart. (Matthew 5:27-28)

10 I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. (John 10:10)

The body and mind are not for fornication. That is a way that leads to misery and destruction.

Germany, France, and others want the UK to process a “quick divorce” because of its vote to leave the European Union:

Germany and France led demands on Saturday for Britain to negotiate a quick divorce from the European Union, with Paris warning that populism will otherwise take hold after the vote to leave the bloc sent shockwaves around the world.

The European Central Bank added to the pressure by saying Britain’s financial industry, which employs 2.2 million people, would lose the right to serve clients in the EU unless the country signed up to its single market – anathema to “leave” campaigners who are set to lead the next government in London.

Britain’s decision to leave the EU, the world’s largest trading bloc, is the biggest blow since World War Two to the European project of forging greater unity. …

“This process should get underway as soon as possible so that we are not left in limbo but rather can concentrate on the future of Europe,” German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier said after hosting a meeting of his colleagues from the six founding members of the EU – Germany, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg.

French Foreign Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault warned of the dangers of delay. “We have to give a new sense to Europe, otherwise populism will fill the gap,” he said. …

European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker also wants to begin negotiating Britain’s departure immediately. “It doesn’t make any sense to wait until October to try to negotiate the terms of their departure,” he said on Friday. http://in.reuters.com/article/britain-eu-split-wrapup-idINKCN0ZB095

UK Prime Minister David Cameron was publicly opposed to Jean-Claude Juncker becoming the European Commission President precisely because he felt that could lead to the UK voting to leave the European Union.

“It’s an explosive shock,” said French Prime Minister Manuel Valls, shortly after the victory of the Leave campaign was confirmed.

“At stake, purely and simply,” Mr Valls added, “is the break-up of the union. We have to invent another Europe.”

It is indeed not inconceivable that further fragmentation could follow. Political emotions are running high in many European countries. Old certainties are being abandoned.

And those who believe in the idea of European unity know that they have to respond quickly. …

Beyond the sloganeering, the quality of leadership within the EU will be tested as never before. Muddling through may not be an option.

And that is why, now the British decision has been made, most European leaders want divorce to happen as quickly as possible. Some insist that David Cameron should invoke Article 50 – the mechanism through which separation will be negotiated – immediately. …

But if the EU is to survive and prosper without the UK, it will have to tackle the toughest issues head on.

Since the UK has voted to leave, leaders in Germany, France, and elsewhere want to move ahead quickly as they do not want to see populist movements in other European Union (EU) nations deciding to follow the UK’s lead.  A quick ‘divorce’ of the UK may also be more disruptive for the UK and that type of disruption could discourage other nations from wanting to hold votes to leave the EU.

As far as what can accurately be predicted, we in the Continuing Church of God “have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts” (2 Peter 1:19, KJV).” The Bible is accurate and its predictions can be counted on. Some of those biblical predictions are mentioned in this post.

But just before getting to them, consider that there are calls for change and reorganization in Europe.

In an interview with Fox yesterday, former German Defense and Economics Minister Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg said:

I don’t see the necessary leadership in Europe at the moment. …

It’s not the EU that must reinvent itself, – we must reorganize Europe. Actually, the question is whether it’s even possible to reinvent the EU from within. If it were, the EU certainly could and should have done so over the past years.

This crisis is just one of many: the refugee crisis, the Grexit crisis etc. We’ve seen for quite some time that the EU as a system is no longer able to cope with these crises, so the question isn’t whether there’s anything the EU can do but whether we are really prepared to fundamentally rethink the political and democratic reorganization of this continent. Because of the Brexit, various ones are publicly calling for a reorganization in Europe.

According to Bible prophecy, as I have explained for years (since at least from 2011 on this page), the European Union will reorganize:

12 “The ten horns which you saw are ten kings who have received no kingdom as yet, but they receive authority for one hour as kings with the beast. 13 These are of one mind, and they will give their power and authority to the beast. (Revelation 17:12-13)

But how?

First, we will see some non-specifically prophesied rule changes and reorganizations in Europe.  But as Ulrike Guerot indicated, that will not be enough.

It is likely that because of economic and civil unrest crises, that emergency provisions in the EU will be modified and then evoked in the future.

The Bible shows that it will be a relative few that will take advantage of the situation to get the final King of the North to gain control as the final Beast of the sea of Revelation 13.  Notice what Daniel 11 teaches about the King of the North:

21 And in his place shall arise a vile person, to whom they will not give the honor of royalty; but he shall come in peaceably, and seize the kingdom by intrigue. 22 With the force of a flood they shall be swept away from before him and be broken, and also the prince of the covenant. 23 And after the league is made with him he shall act deceitfully, for he shall come up and become strong with a small number of people. 24 He shall enter peaceably, even into the richest places of the province; and he shall do what his fathers have not done, nor his forefathers: he shall disperse among them the plunder, spoil, and riches; and he shall devise his plans against the strongholds, but only for a time. (Daniel 11:21-24)

So, this leader will promise peace and prosperity. He will make a deal with a small amount of people to gain power (cf. Revelation 17:12-13). He will promise peace and prosperity in a time of crisis.

This same vile leader, who appears at the “appointed time” of “the end” is described without that King of the North title in Daniel 8:

19 And he said, “Look, I am making known to you what shall happen in the latter time of the indignation; for at the appointed time the end shall be…

23 “And in the latter time of their kingdom, When the transgressors have reached their fullness, A king shall arise, Having fierce features, Who understands sinister schemes. 24 His power shall be mighty, but not by his own power; He shall destroy fearfully, And shall prosper and thrive; He shall destroy the mighty, and also the holy people.

25 “Through his cunning He shall cause deceit to prosper under his rule; And he shall exalt himself in his heart. He shall destroy many in their prosperity. He shall even rise against the Prince of princes; But he shall be broken without human means.

26 “And the vision of the evenings and mornings Which was told is true; Therefore seal up the vision, For it refers to many days in the future.” (Daniel 8:19,23-26)

This King is also the “Beast” that the ten kings give their power to in Revelation 17:12-13 (see also Must the Ten Kings of Revelation 17:12 Rule over Ten Currently Existing Nations?).

But notice the portion of Daniel 8:23 that I bolded above. This King rises up when the transgressors have reached their fullness, which suggests that this is about when God has had enough of the increasing immorality in nations like the U.S.A. as well as in Europe. Immorality is increasing in the Western lands, and will get to the point that the King will rise up.
