Pope Francis and Jeremy Corbyn want the UK to give up the Chagos Islands–and one day it will happen! Another one-world government step?

Chagos Islands (Wikipedia)
A reader tipped me off to the following:
ABOARD THE PAPAL PLANE (Reuters) – Pope Francis said on Tuesday Britain should comply with a U.N. resolution and return a chain of islands it holds in the Indian Ocean to Mauritius, including one rented to the United States for the Diego Garcia air base. …
Francis referred to the archipelago and used the name Chagos Islands, which Britain rules as the British Indian Ocean Territory (BIOT).
Authorities saw the mention as boost for their claim and in an address to the pope on Monday night Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth thanked him for his interest.
Britain detached the Chagos Islands from Mauritius before Mauritius gained independence in 1968. London then expelled the population of the islands, then numbering about 2,000 people, to build the air base on Diego Garcia. …
Francis said:
“When we recognize international organizations, such as the International Court of Justice in The Hague or the United Nations, and give them the capacity to judge internationally, when they speak, if we are (part of) humanity, we must obey.” 09/10/19 https://www.reuters.com/article/us-pope-plane-islands/pope-says-britain-should-obey-u-n-return-islands-including-u-s-base-idUSKCN1VV2IO
Notice the Pope Francis said that the UK (and other nations) need to obey the United Nations and the International Court of Justice. This is additional proof that he and the Vatican support a one-world government.
Now, although UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson wants the UK to maintain control of that territory, opposition party leader Jeremy Corbyn is on the UN and Vatican’s side:
11 September 2019
In May the UK was ordered to hand back the Chagos Islands to Mauritius “as rapidly as possible” after the International Court of Justice in The Hague ruled that British occupation is illegal.
Although the majority decision by the ICJ was only advisory, it was a humiliating blow to Britain’s prestige. Since then the UN general assembly has set a six-month deadline, expiring on 22 November, for the withdrawal of the British colonial administration.
The prime minister, Boris Johnson, suffered one of his heaviest defeats at the UN as foreign secretary over the legality of British occupation of BIOT.
Jeremy Corbyn, a former chair of the APPG, has condemned the UK government for defying the ICJ ruling. West said she had told the Labour leader of her trip – “I’m sure he would have loved to come along” – adding that she hoped the visit was a sign the Foreign Office was changing its mind about resettlement.
Pope Francis raised hopes of resettlement among exiles on his visit to Mauritius this week by referring to the Chagos Islands rather than using the UK’s preferred term of BIOT.
David Snoxell, co-ordinator of the APPG and former UK high commissioner to Mauritius, said: “For as long as BIOT remains British it is unlikely that Chagossians will be allowed to return, but under Mauritian sovereignty the Islanders can do so. Mauritius has made it clear that it will organise and contribute to the cost of resettlement. That is why resettlement and restoration of the Chagos Archipelago to Mauritius go hand in hand.”
Professor Phillippe Sands QC, who represented Mauritius at the ICJ, said: “The failure of the UK to consult with Mauritius is clearly inconsistent with the ruling and overwhelming support in the UN for the position of Mauritius and the right of Chagossians to return.” https://www.theguardian.com/world/2019/sep/11/mps-make-secretive-visit-to-diego-garcia-and-chagos-islands
One day the United Kingdom will lose/give up the Chagos Islands.
I have warned about losing Diego Garcia in the past (see Will the Anglo-Saxon-Celtic Nations be Divided and Have People Taken as Slaves?). This is a major base for the USA.
Furthermore, several months ago on this COGwriter Church of God news page, I wrote:
Despite British hopes for its future, loss of territories will one day include Northern Ireland, the Chagos Islands, and Gibraltar. … territorial losses will include Northern Ireland, the Chagos Islands, and Gibraltar, as well as England, Wales, and Scotland. Yes, one day, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland will be no more. (Thiel B. UK closer to losing Chagos Islands–it will happen. COGwriter, May 28, 2019)
Why?
Because of biblical prophecies and sin.
Notice a couple of prophetic warnings that are consistent with that:
24 ‘Do not defile yourselves with any of these things; for by all these the nations are defiled, which I am casting out before you. 25 For the land is defiled; therefore I visit the punishment of its iniquity upon it, and the land vomits out its inhabitants. 26 You shall therefore keep My statutes and My judgments, and shall not commit any of these abominations, either any of your own nation or any stranger who dwells among you 27 (for all these abominations the men of the land have done, who were before you, and thus the land is defiled), 28 lest the land vomit you out also when you defile it, as it vomited out the nations that were before you. (Leviticus 18:24-29)
23 ‘And if by these things you are not reformed by Me, but walk contrary to Me, 24 then I also will walk contrary to you, and I will punish you yet seven times for your sins. 25 And I will bring a sword against you that will execute the vengeance of the covenant; when you are gathered together within your cities I will send pestilence among you; and you shall be delivered into the hand of the enemy. (Leviticus 26:23-25)
58 “If you do not carefully observe all the words of this law that are written in this book, that you may fear this glorious and awesome name, THE LORD YOUR GOD, 59 then the Lord will bring upon you and your descendants extraordinary plagues — great and prolonged plagues — and serious and prolonged sicknesses. 60 Moreover He will bring back on you all the diseases of Egypt, of which you were afraid, and they shall cling to you. 61 Also every sickness and every plague, which is not written in this Book of the Law, will the Lord bring upon you until you are destroyed. 62 You shall be left few in number, whereas you were as the stars of heaven in multitude, because you would not obey the voice of the Lord your God. 63 And it shall be, that just as the Lord rejoiced over you to do you good and multiply you, so the Lord will rejoice over you to destroy you and bring you to nothing; and you shall be plucked from off the land which you go to possess. (Deuteronomy 28:58-63)
One day, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland will be no more.
The late Herbert W. Armstrong believed the previous attainment of various “sea gates” helped demonstrate the identity of the modern descendants of Joseph and that they would be lost:
Genesis 22:17. To Abraham God said: “That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies.” And again, the inspired prophetic parting blessing upon Rebekah, leaving her family to become the wife of Isaac: “And they blessed Rebekah, and said unto her, Thou art our sister, be thou the mother of thousands of millions, and let thy seed possess the gate of those which hate them” (Gen. 24:60). Earlier we quoted the correct Fenton translation: “… and your race shall possess the gates [plural] of its enemies.”
As explained there, the “gates” of enemy nations are the strategic SEA GATES of entrance to or exit from these nations. Although all wealth comes from the ground, prosperity and affluence on a national scale always have come also by industry and COMMERCE. And commerce between nations has been transacted almost altogether by the SEA- LANES of the world — by SHIPS, and, within a continent, by railroads. How significant, then, that Robert Fulton operated the first steamboat in 1803 — precisely when Britain and America suddenly began to MULTIPLY in national wealth! And also that it was the nineteenth century that saw the development of the railroads! As explained before, since the birthright pertains to NATIONS, the “GATE” of our enemies would be such passes as Gibraltar, Suez, Singapore, the Panama Canal, etc. Britain and America came into possession of every such major “gate” in this world! So we MUST be modern Israel. World War II hinged on these “gates.”
They had become not only strategic passes, but the world’s greatest fortifications. But today, we have lost most of them, most recently, the Panama Canal — and it appears that soon Gibraltar, too, will be lost.
Why? Notice Genesis 39:2, 23: “The Eternal was with Joseph, and he was a PROSPEROUS man ….the Eternal was with him, and that which he did, the Eternal made it to PROSPER.” And God did prosper Joseph’s descendants, Britain and America, with the fabulous birthright promised Joseph’s sons! (Armstrong HW. The United States And Britain In Prophecy. 1980)
The major “sea gates” of the world were possessed/controlled for a time by the United States (Panama Canal and certain locations in the Pacific ocean) and the British Empire (Straits of Malacca, Singapore, Suez Canal, Bab el Mandeb, Strait of Hormuz, Simon’s Town/Cape of Good Hope, etc.). And while that is no longer the case for many of them, they seem to have been prophesied to be taken away for disobedience as well (cf. Deuteronomy 28)—and certainly these nations have disobeyed the God of Abraham, as well as actually lost many of those gates. Thus, it seems logical to conclude that the remaining “sea gates” that the UK has such as Gibraltar, the Chagos Islands, and the Falkland Islands will be separated from UK control. Spain directly, or perhaps, through the EU (or some other European confederation) indirectly, will force out British control over Gibraltar.
The Vatican’s support for United Nations’ resolution and International Court of Justice’s recommendation is a step in that direction (and is also consistent with Revelation 17:1-6).
Back in March of this year, a Lutheran leader specifically stated that if it were not for Pope Francis’ Laudato Si, the “Paris Agreement” (which was essentially a formalization of the 2030 UN plan adopted in September of 2015) would not be met (see “Faith-based organizations ‘uniquely placed to support’ UN’s 2030 Agenda says global Lutheran leader” as part of push for one world religion and one world government).
The reality is that both Laudato Si and the UN’s Agenda 2030 are pushes for a type of one world religion and one world government. So, it should not be a surprise that Pope Francis has again made a one-world government supporting step.
The United Nations, itself, clearly supports an interfaith and world domination agenda. Notice a report by E. Jeffrey Ludwig about that from last Fall:
The UN Wants to be Our World Government By 2030
October 28, 2018
In the 1960s, an informed but naïve undergraduate, I was walking across the campus of the University of Pennsylvania with the Chairman of the Chemistry Department, Prof. Charles C. Price. He told me that he was president of the United World Federalists, and asked if I knew what that organization was. When I said that I did not, he replied that they believed in a one-world government that would grow out of the United Nations. …
How would Prof. Price’s vision of a new world government emerge? Although there was a socialistic thread in its founding document, the United Nations was formed based on a vision of human rights presented in the “Universal Declaration of Human Rights” (UDHR) which placed the concept of rights at the forefront for the progress of the world body. …
In 2015, seventy years after their original rights-based document, the UN took a giant step towards the global government that was only hinted at in their first organizing document. They issued a document entitled “Transforming Our World: the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.” This document has 91 numbered sections of the UN’s program for world government. …
The entire “Transforming Our World” document is cast in a stream of consciousness of pious platitudes for a utopian future. It is an outsize utopian dream. Five of the 17 items pertain to the environment. There are goals for the cities, for women, for the poor, and even for life under the water. Absolutely no sphere of human activity is exempt from control by the UN. …
The one-worlders of the 1950s and early 1960s are now in the UN driver’s seat, and they have made their move. https://www.sgtreport.com/2018/10/the-un-wants-to-be-our-world-government-by-2030/
Many around the world support the UN’s goals.
Pope Francis endorsed them at the UN in 2015, right before representatives of most nations on the earth voted to accept them. It was just a few months prior to that speech that Pope Francis released his Laudato Si encyclical. That was quite consistent with the UN’s ‘New Universal Agenda.’
I have long called the UN’s 2030 ‘New Universal Agenda’ a ‘false gospel.’
Here is some information about it in our free booklet The Gospel of the Kingdom of God:
Does humanity have the solutions?
The world faces many problems.
Many people are hungry. Many people are oppressed. Many people face poverty. Many nations are in serious debt. Children, including unborn ones, face abuse. Drug-resistant diseases concern many doctors. Major industrial cities have air too polluted to be healthy. Various politicians threaten war. Terrorist attacks keep happening.
Can world leaders fix the problems facing humanity?
Many think so.
New Universal Agenda
On September 25, 2015, after a key-note speech by the Vatican’s Pope Francis, the 193 nations of the United Nations (UN) voted to implement the “17 Sustainable Development Goals” of what originally was termed the New Universal Agenda. Here are the UN’s 17 goals:
Goal 1. End poverty in all its forms everywhere
Goal 2. End hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture
Goal 3. Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages
Goal 4. Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all
Goal 5. Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls
Goal 6. Ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all
Goal 7. Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all
Goal 8. Promote sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all
Goal 9. Build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization and foster innovation
Goal 10. Reduce inequality within and among countries
Goal 11. Make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable
Goal 12. Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns
Goal 13. Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts
Goal 14. Conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources for sustainable development
Goal 15. Protect, restore and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, sustainably manage forests, combat desertification, and halt and reverse land degradation and halt biodiversity loss
Goal 16. Promote peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development, provide access to justice for all and build effective, accountable and inclusive institutions at all levels
Goal 17. Strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development
This agenda is supposed to be fully implemented by 2030 and is also called the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. It aims to solve ailments facing humanity through regulation, education, and international and interfaith cooperation. While many of its objectives are good, some of its methods and goals are evil (cf. Genesis 3:5). This agenda, also, is consistent with Pope Francis’s Laudato Si encyclical.
The “New Universal Agenda” could be called the “New Catholic Agenda” as the word “catholic” means “universal.” Pope Francis called the adoption of the New Universal Agenda “an important sign of hope.”
As a follow-up to the UN agreement, there was a meeting in Paris in December 2015 (officially titled 21st Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change). Pope Francis also praised that international agreement and advised nations “to carefully follow the road ahead, and with an ever-growing sense of solidarity.”
Nearly all the nations in the world agreed to the Paris accords, which had specific environmental goals and financial commitments. (Then US President Barack Obama signed a document to commit the USA to this in 2016, but in 2017, US President Donald Trump stated that the United States would NOT accept the agreed to Paris accords. This caused international outrage and has helped isolate the US from Europe and many other parts of the world.) Pope Francis later stated humanity “will go down” if it does not make his changes related to the climate.
While no one wants to breath polluted air, go hungry, be impoverished, be endangered, etc., will human attempts or the goals of the United Nations’ 2030 agenda and/or the Paris accords solve the problems facing humanity?
The Track Record of the United Nations
The United Nations was formed and established on 24 October 1945, after World War II, in order to prevent another such conflict and to try to promote peace in the world. At its founding, the UN had 51 member states; there are now 193.
There have been hundreds, if not thousands, of conflicts around the world since the United Nations formed, but we have not yet had what could be described as the third World War.
Some believe that international cooperation like the United Nations claims to promote, combined with the type of interfaith and ecumenical agenda that Pope Francis and many other religious leaders are trying to promote, will bring peace and prosperity.
However, the track record for the United Nations to do this has not been good. In addition to the numerous armed conflicts since the United Nations formed, multiple millions are hungry, refugees, and/or desperately poor.
Over a decade ago, the United Nations set forth to implement its Millennium Development Goals. It had eight “development goals,” but this did not succeed, even according to the UN itself. So, in 2015, its so-called “17 Sustainable Development Goals” were adopted. Some are optimistic. Some consider it a utopian fantasy.
As far as utopia goes, on May 6, 2016, Pope Francis said he dreamed of a humane European utopia that his church could help that continent attain. Yet, the Pope’s dream will turn out to be a nightmare (cf. Revelation 18).
There May Be Some Cooperation and Success, But …
Merriam Webster’s Dictionary states that utopia is “an imaginary place in which the government, laws, and social conditions are perfect.” The Bible teaches that humanity cannot solve its problems on its own:
23 O Lord, I know the way of man is not in himself; It is not in man who walks to direct his own steps. (Jeremiah 10:23, NKJV throughout unless otherwise indicated)
The Bible teaches that international cooperation will fail:
16 Destruction and misery are in their ways; 17 And the way of peace they have not known. 18 There is no fear of God before their eyes. (Romans 3:16-18)
Yet, many humans are working towards their view of a utopian society and even sometimes try to involve religion. But almost none are willing to follow the ways of the one true God. It is not that there will be no progress towards any of the United Nation’s or the Vatican’s goals. There will be some (and many of the goals are good), as well as some setbacks.
Actually, and probably after massive conflict, a type of international peace deal will be agreed to and confirmed (Daniel 9:27). When it is, many will falsely tend to believe that humanity will be bringing about a more peaceful and utopian society.
Many will be taken in by such international ‘utopian progress’ (cf. Ezekiel 13:10) as well as by various signs and wonders (2 Thessalonians 2:9-12). But the Bible says such peace will not last (Daniel 9:27; 11:31-44), despite what leaders may claim (1 Thessalonians 5:3; Isaiah 59:8).
The idea that, apart from Jesus (cf. John 15:5; Matthew 24:21-22), humanity can bring utopia in this ‘present evil age’ is a false gospel (Galatians 1:3-10).
If humanity alone is utterly incapable of truly bringing about utopia, is any type of utopia possible?
Yes.
The Kingdom of God will make this planet and, later, all eternity, fantastically better.

While the world seems to be impressed by the UN’s agenda, what the Vatican and the UN are seemingly trying to do is repeatedly warned against in the Bible (Revelation 13:1-18, 14:12, 18:4; Zechariah 2:6-7).
The fact that US President Donald Trump worked to pull the USA out of the Paris agreement (see Donald Trump announces withdraw from Paris accords: A slap in the face to Pope Francis and the Europeans?) and Boris Johnson to keep the Chagos Islands as part of the UK will not be well remembered by world leaders or the Vatican.
The UK will one day lose the Chagos Islands and all of its territory (the USA will lose all of its territories too some day–cf. Daniel 11:39).

Brexit and the fate of Northern Ireland, Gibraltar, the UK, and the USA On April 29, 2017, 27 of the nations of the European Union agreed to certain guidelines for the negotiations with the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland which gave its notice to leave on March 29, 2017. These guidelines are contrary to what the UK wants. Does the EU intend the UK to pay a price for leaving the EU? What does Spain want? What does the Republic of Ireland want? Will Northern Ireland and Gibraltar eventually fall under European control? Will the UK and USA be conquered? What does the Bible teach? Dr. Thiel answer these questions and more in this video.
Forbes’ Brexit Monster is the Beast of Revelation Various ones have been properly convinced that there is a plan for a European superstate. Forbes’ writer Tom Worstall wrote that the Brexit vote was about the United Kingdom “not joining the monster of the European Union to come.” The Bible tells of a Beast monster that will arise in the end times in Europe. Dr. Thiel cites news reports, as well as the Old and New Testaments, to show that the monster many fear will arise in Europe, despite the vote by the British to exit the European Union. This is a video.
Will the UK Lose Gibraltar and the Falkland Islands? For many years, the major sea gates of the world were possessed/controlled by the United States (Panama Canal and certain locations in the Pacific ocean) and the British Empire (Straits of Malacca, Singapore, Suez Canal, Bab el Mandeb, Strait of Hormuz, Simon’s Town/Cape of Good Hope, Malta, etc.), and many are no longer under their control. Spain wants Gibraltar and Argentina wants the Falklands (also known as the Malvinas). UK Prime Minister David Cameron says the UK will defend the Falklands Gibraltar. Post Brexit Prophecy On June 23, 2016, the voters of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (UK) chose to leave the European Union.
